Fantastic experience: Great school, great people and 160 Academy care about there students. I recently graduated it and I I'm proud I graduated here. I would definitely recommend coming here for your CDL. The instructor are great and great to work with. Nothing, but good vibes here. Look for Donna. Fantastic experience: Graduated 9/14/23 from the Waukegan branch. Great experience at 160 Driving Academy, only regret is I wish I would have done it sooner. From Amanda in the office who gets things going on the front end ( answering questions regarding financing/grants and scheduling. Big reason I chose 160 was her diligence in making sure I had all the resources and answers I needed to move forward as well as the great reviews I seen regarding the instructors. The instructors vary in personality types but all were professional and pushed you to succeed. From Jay (making sure all the students were where they needed to be to take and pass the test) Keith( definitely pushes you to not quit on yourself and progress), Dan ( or Coolio as I liked to call him being so chill and letting you feel comfortable at all times driving which helps you being more comfortable come test day), Joe ( another chill guy giving you input on how you drove), Dan ( very professional and articulate about what you needed to do to continue to progress), Igor ( the skills were intimidating initially but Igor was great at walking you through it and getting you up to the skills needed to pass) and Willie ( first instructor I worked with and was great at getting us going on becoming familiar with the components of the truck) Properly mounted and not damaged will be forever burned into your brain! You’ll get it if you ever went or go to 160. P.S. If you ever do regress or fail at anything no one gives up on you, they push you to do/be your best. A bit long but deserved review.

Fantastic experience: Gray classroom very well knowledged about the current CDL training everything . Once you pass the class you go to the yard, the instructors, Jay, Joe, Dan, Danny, Keith, and the other instructor at your members name are very well knowledged in automatic and manual trucks. They help you a lot to get you prepared for your pre-trip road and skills I would recommend anybody that is looking to get their CDL to go through that school.

Fantastic experience: Been seeing a lot of new drivers coming out of here and in the road.. give a couple of pointers have them start backing up with the tandems allll the way to the rear... shorten up that lot for backing cause you never know if they will get sent out down town Chicago or NYC it would help them out doing turns in traffic

Fantastic experience: 160 Driving Academy is the top of the line driving school. I attended the 320 S Greenbay Road Waukegan IL 60085 location and they are the B.E.S.T. Big shout out to Amanda in the office she works very hard to keep the administrative assignment current and up to date, wonderful job, she is so polite, she exhibits the top of the line customer service skills, very good at what she does. A big shout out to Cesar, Pedro, Keith, MoneyMike, Mark, Jay, Willie, and Mr.Dan. Hope I didnt forget anyone they are the best. All these instructors worked assiduously to ensure I was successful in achieving my CDL. These guys will not give up on their students they take special interest in each and everyone, they are patient, understanding, kind, and will go above and beyond to ensure their students are understanding. They will go over and over to ensure a person gets it,,,, They are wonderful big thank you to all I got my CDL on the first go I'm so happy. Fantastic experience: If I had to choose again, I would most definitely chose 160 in Waukegan (AGAIN). They treat you more like an individual rather than another student their trying to push out the door.

Fantastic experience: Recent graduate from 160. I passed my exam on the first try. Did my behind the wheel and yard hours, passed the pre-trip, skills and road test all on the first try after my three weeks of yard time. I was struggling a bit with some skills and mastering my turns on the road. The instructors worked a little bit longer with me after hours so that I could get a better grip on all of it. It paid off in the end. As long as they see that your truly dedicated to obtaining your cdl and comprehending their training, they will do the same in return. There were some slackers in class that pretty much absorbed a lot of the instructors patience and time. So just have patience for the instructors while in the yard, when you see their slightly frustrated, it’s not you. It’s a lot for them at times. They are understanding that the students are new to understanding the truck and it’s operations. I can’t express it enough, how grateful I am again for their extra time they put into my training. Seriously 160, thank you! This move was a great one towards a better financial move and security in the future. I’m no longer an average delivery driver. Now time to get that better pay with better respect in the field. Thank you team!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a CDL school, this is the only place to go. For starters the amount of tuition options they have is ridiculous (in a good way!) Amanda was very knowledgeable and helped me pick the best option for me. She wasn’t pushy just gave me the pros and cons to everything which proved more than helpful. She followed up with me right after our initial appointment proving I was more than just ‘another enrollment’ she actually cared about me and the fellow students. Making sure our entire experience was awesome! My first week in classroom was great, the virtual base is perfect for own pace learning, but the live instructor helped with all of my questions and made passing my permit test easy. The yard was fun, structured, and an overall great learning experience. Safety was most definitely a top priority, as well as making sure things were done the right way. They provided a great environment for all students, and really proved this company has an awesome culture. Pedro, Cesar, and Mark made everything easy, and taught me everything I needed to know. Passing my test was easy. Once I graduated everyone from 160 was there to guide me through finding a job, and their truckers network app was great. 160 Driving Academy was great and I would recommend to anyone looking to start a new career fast.
