Negative experience: Paid for course for my son a month and half ago. Still can't sign in just say account not verified. Money was taken from bank the same day still waiting for it to verify>> 6 weeks later...

A-1 Driving School

Hello Mari, if you are getting the message that your account is not approved or verified. It's because A-1 has not seen the student's learner permit. In the welcome email and in the first lesson of the coursework it notifies the student that our office will have to see a valid Utah Learner Permit before we can open up the driving calendar to them. This is a very easy and quick process to take care of . Please email a picture of your student's permit to [email protected]. Our office will reply with an email that your account is approved and your next steps. Please call our office at 801-943-2525 and we can help with any questions.

Negative experience: It’s been a really frustrating experience. Trying to get a drive schedule is like winning the lottery! My son has been trying to schedule his last drive for the past four weeks but hasn’t been able to get one. We’ve been on the site right at 10:00 AM when the drive times are released, yet we still can’t get a spot. I’ve called and left messages, but they haven’t returned my call, and it’s been over a week. If I could do this over again, I would choose a different school to work with.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE RIP OFF TOOK MY MONEY NEVER PROVIDED SERVICES REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REFUND. SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY NOT AN ETHICAL BUSINESS THEY WILL ABSOLUTELY RIP YOU OFF WITHOUT REMORSE.

Hi Bryan, sorry to hear you say this. What is your students name and which program did they register for. I would need this information to know how to help you. Students have immediate access to the Open Road coursework program as so as they register. Before A-1 can schedule any behind the wheel lessons the student needs to show their Utah learners permit to us. The refund policy is as follows. A-1 will provide a full refund for the first 15 days if no services were provided. If services were provided A-1 deducts $60 for every 2 hour drive completed. A-1 provides refunds after the first 15 days, but a $50 fee is withheld. The registration is good for one year. We do not offer refunds after one year. Like any educational course there are deadlines to complete the program. We are happy to help your student. Please give our office a call at 801-943-2525.

Negative experience: Our son came to use this school for the driving test. The instructor failed him for “running a red light” while turning left on a yellow light, while the intersection was clear and safe to do so, the instructor stated he does not know what the handbook says on it and that the light was NOT red. If you do not know what the handbook says or what the laws are with a yellow light in an intersection, you should be educated, to clearly pass or fail someone. For the record the law states, so long as the intersection is clear and it’s safe to turn, you are able to make a left hand turn, when the light is yellow.

Negative experience: My daughter had a drive with Margene, who repeatedly grabbed the wheel, then hit the break while yelling at my daughter to hit the gas…. Which doesn’t work well for obvious reasons. Then while Margene was driving my daughter she pulled out her own phone and STARTED TEXTING WHILE DRIVING! I am furious! Per my daughter she swerved into the other lane a few times and also hit a few curbs. The fact that this instructor would text while driving is so beyond inappropriate. Thankfully when I called management they seemed to understand and said they’ll make sure we have better instructors- but I’m still so upset that this would even happen.
