Fantastic experience: Absolutely a very good instructor, she clarified my doubts in a very pedagogical way, she taught me to realize what is appropriate and not when driving and in this way she prepared me to always make the safest decision when getting behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: I’m an adult with a lot of driving anxiety and have avoided driving for 8+ years despite having my license and I’m glad I found Malaika at Time to Drive! I’ve had 3 individual adult drive lessons so far. She eased my nerves and I can feel the confidence building/returning. I had experienced a scary freeway drive with another instructor at a different school so I was feeling especially hesitant. Malaika helped me feel more calm, focused, and safe. Malaika was very accommodating around my schedule, fitting me in a lot sooner than other schools. I’ve tried two different instructors (from different schools) in the greater Seattle area and Malaika is by far the best one! The Goldilocks of instructors I’ve found. I appreciate the specific tips and info she shares and I don’t feel overloaded with info like I’ve had with previous instructor. Provides guidance and structure while also not being too overbearing and rigid, or vague. She was also entertaining which makes the delivery of information easier and drives more enjoyable. I appreciated the drive car was clean and that she keeps things hygienic by having students wash their hands before entering the car. 5/5 would drive again

My older kids learned to drive at one of the other local driving schools. When I went to sign my younger son up, I learned that the other school was no longer doing in-person classes. I am so happy I discovered Time to Drive and got to know Malika. The in-person classes along with her calm, patient and kind demeanor was just what my son needed. I highly recommend Time to Drive.

The small in person class size is great, Malaika keeps the students engaged. She is very dedicated to teaching teens to become well versed, defensive drivers. Fantastic experience: The driving school classes are very well organized. Class sizes are small, allowing for more student engagement. Many driving schools conduct classes over Zoom, with large numbers of students. When Malaika was in the car driving with my son, he reported she was very consistent with providing feedback, and the feedback was very helpful. She was also very patient. My interactions with her at parent information night and also through texts (providing updates) were also great. She responded to texts very quickly. I would definitely recommend this driving school, located near the junction in West Seattle.

We were able to make all the classes without it interfering with school and finished most all classes except the final drive before turning 16. Fantastic experience: Malika is an incredible teacher! She was so patient with me when I was learning and explained everything in add aqueduct detail. From beginning to end taking drivers ed was it not only tolerable, but enjoyable. Fantastic experience: My daughter attended Time to Drive 6 years ago and we had such a positive experience that there wasn’t a doubt where my son would attend when his time came last fall. Both kids were very reluctant to take driver’s ed and I knew an in-person, smaller class size would be better for them. They both had positive experiences because of Malaika’s professionalism, kindness and patience. By far, Time to Drive is the best driver training school in West Seattle.

Fantastic experience: I did my knowledge test and driving test with them yesterday and it was a really smooth process. Malika was kind enough to accommodate my last minute appointment and evaluated me on my driving skills. She was very nice, humble and professional. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with time to drive made it smooth to navigate the road as a new driver. Calm on the road and clear with instructions. Feed back is very constructive. Driving with the instructor is low pressure/stress if any. Malaika, the instructor, is also very supportive if there is any need for extra time behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: I agree with other reviewers in that Malika should receive way more than the 5 stars allotted by Goggle. She goes above and beyond in everything she does, in the classroom, in communicating with students and parents, flexibility in scheduling drives and make up lessons. In the classroom and in the passenger seat Malika is a supportive and calming presence. I highly recommend Time to Drive.

Fantastic experience: I would have given Malika 100 stars if I could. She was very patient, knowledgeable, attentive and made me feel extremely safe in the car. I tried a competitor that's really close by and honestly they got nothing on Malika. This school is the real deal, doesn't matter if you're a teen or an adult who's never driven before like myself. I passed my driving test the first try by following all her amazing tips and tricks. She will teach you how to drive well, confidently and to do it right for life. I can't thank her enough!

She was very responsive to all text messages and was very helpful whenever my son or I reached out to her with questions. I will be sending my younger child there when he’s ready.

I went in knowing little about driving and came out with a license. This is the only place I recommend in the Seattle area, lessons are structured and reasonable.

We had a couple of interruptions in the schedule due to personal issues and Malika has been very accommodating as we've had to make adjustments. Fantastic experience: I’m an international student in US, and I was looking for a school to take some of the driving lessons and take the exam. I was really confused because it was pretty hard for me. Fortunately, I went to internet and I found Malika. She is an amazing instructor who helped me out a lot, with everything. She made me confident in driving and I was able to get my driving license ASAP. I’m so thankful to her, and due to the idea of her being the best driving instructor. My parents and friends when they are looking for a driving school I always tell them to come to this school!

Fantastic experience: I'm not going to lie, I took a little while to learn how to drive because my anxiety used to be so bad around driving and even being in cars at all sometimes- and my parents didn't want to be bothered to teach me. So a decade after most of my peers, I decided that it's time to bite the bullet and get on the road now that I have a car of my own and access to lessons! I knew that I was lucky to have found this school after having a not-so-great experience with another driving school in the area, but I didn't realize how fortunate I was until I actually started driving around and experiencing how helpful the skills that Malaika teaches in her lessons are! As an adult student, it's very easy to get discouraged when you're learning how to drive later than some others. But Malaika makes her lessons to be as practical and easy to understand as possible and that's a quality that is not only helpful to have in a driving instructor, but also very *necessary* when you're learning such an important skill. The reason that this driving school is so much more helpful than many others is because the instructor is both patient and engaged, walking you through important things that you need to know while you're driving without freaking out or getting frustrated when it takes a few tries to pick up the skill. I would describe her teaching style as "attentive but mostly along to enjoy the ride and make sure you don't end up dead" which is PERFECT for me. Overall, I'm just irritated that I wasted time trying to learn without proper instruction before I found this school! I passed my test and felt more prepared for it than I could've ever hoped. Not only do I recommend this driving school, but I'm going to risk being considered dramatic for a moment and say that I definitely consider it to be a life changing experience for me

Fantastic experience: Malaika is one of the most patient people I've ever met. She believed in me when I was behind the wheel and had an incredible calming effect. I felt safe during each drive with her and felt confident that my skills were getting better with each lesson. I never thought I'd be able to parallel park nor back around a corner, but Malaika taught me well and I'm able to perform these maneuvers! Malaika will help you get your driver's license no matter how nervous you are or how old you are.

Fantastic experience: Malika went out of her way to find a time to work with our au pair. We needed to understand how many hours of training she needed before taking the driving test (as she had failed it at other locations previously several times). Malika drove with her and assessed her confidence, issues (mainly listening challenges) and recommended only one (!!!) extra lesson before taking the exam. Malika worked with her on listening and made her feel very confident and comfortable. We did exactly what Malika recommended and our au pair passed and had an excellent, well-supported experience that we are all very thankful for. Thank you! Couldn't have asked for better!

Our daughter is on the spectrum so she needed some extra understanding and care and Malika provided it gladly. I highly recommend and our next 2 will be taking her class too.

Fantastic experience: When I first started I was a little skeptical, due to personal review from friends but after taking the class I can for curtain say it is well worth it an interactive learning experience, helpful tip and tricks as well as helpful guides and illustrations. And the best part is the instructor helpful, doesn't get angry(at best annoyed) and explains and shows errors and the corrections to fix them.

Fantastic experience: I started Time to Drive about a month ago with Malaika and she was absolutely great! I've taken a driver's ed class before(but didn't get my license)and with Malaika it's so much easier. She's a great instructor and when we're driving I learn tasks that are considered hard really fast and easily. 10/10 recommend

Fantastic experience: I went to Time to Drive on a whim to get my knowledge test, walked in within an hour of closing with no appointment and Malaika was gracious enough to let me test, grade my test, and schedule my practical for the next day all within a short period of time. She patiently accomadated for a setback where I couldn't find my insurance, she was so kind it was hard to be nervous during the test. Getting my license was a breeze at Time to Drive and I wish I could give my experience more than 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with Time to Drive. Malaika is an excellent instructor and was extremely helpful from start to finish. As an example, my son had a scheduling conflict over the summer which resulted in him having to miss the first few sessions of the summer class. Malaika explained the state requirements for attendance, noting that the days he would miss were within the state limits, and offered to let him make up the sessions he missed in the fall class at no additional charge, which he did. She was also flexible in scheduling behind the wheel sessions and in making arrangements for his written and driving tests, something we much appreciated since he was commuting by ferry from Vashon. The whole experience was very smooth, and our son successfully acquired the required skills and the confidence he needed to get his license in a timely manner .

Fantastic experience: As a dad of two teenage daughters, both of whom learned to drive this summer with Time to Drive, I couldn't be happier with this school and its owner Malaika Brooks. Malaika, with her 'firm but kind' teaching style, impresses on her students the seriousness and responsibility of driving, but she also manages to give each one the skills and confidence necessary to navigate Seattle's neighborhood streets, large arterials, and busy freeways as young drivers. As one daughter told me, Malaika made each class "fun and engaging," and "she shaped the lessons so that each of us felt comfortable and well-prepared." She also has a way of bringing good humor into the classroom. A hard-working business owner and dedicated teacher, Malaika loves her work and students, and she is committed to her students' safety and success.

She had super effective prompts for teaching parallel and nose in parking and great tips for safely driving through congested West Seattle streets. Yay for the Safety Stop.

Fantastic experience: I attended another driving school in West Seattle and passed my knowledge test there, later I failed my driving test but I'll tell you why. During my driving test, I always had that feeling that instructor all the time was waiting me do something wrong. Maybe I'm wrong, but I felt that energy. When I failed my driving test, instructor made it clear and said he isn't sure that I'll pass next time and maybe it's better to find anothe driving school. Why? I don't know! Just a sceptical guy I think ! So I decided why not actually. Time to Drive is less than a mile from my house so of course I went there! And no regrets at all! Malaika is super nice woman! And the thing I really liked it's that she wasn't waiting me fail, she was just enjoying the ride I would say! She said smth like "relax and you will feel the confidence"! I passed the test. Yeah, not the best results, but who cares? My point is Time to Drive maybe isn't one of those fancy schools, but I feel like people get there proper attention and understanding! Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: After receiving recommendations from a neighbor, I enrolled my 16 year old son at Time to Drive. He never once complained about going to class, and had nothing but good things to say about his instructor. The fact that the instructor was calm and organized has taken a lot of stress out of teaching my son to drive. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: After completing all but one drive, problems arose with the previous driving school. Malika, who managed the operation was very clear and helpful on how to navigate the complex process of validating all of my daughters hours of work in an effort to not be faced with starting over. She stood by us through the process and my daughter was able to finish the course and get her license. Having several kids go through the drivers ed process, I have learned the importance of using a company that holds everyone accountable while working on a common goal of preparing our kids for driving on their own. Not an easy task. Thank you Malika!

Positive experience: The school has just reopened (2/28/17) as "Time To Drive". The instructor worked hard with the State to take over the school, get records of the students who were left hanging transferred to her, and establish a curriculum. She has a lot of pride in the school and her students and was the only one to actually contact the parents of the students. The former owner did absolutely nothing, nada, zip, to work with us or even talk to us. This new owner has put a lot of effort into this whole thing, I wish her the best of luck. PREVIOUS POST: Do not sign up for this school at this time (1/20/17) The school closed in the middle of a session with no advanced warning. One of the instructors is trying to re-establish the credentials and reopen, wait for a week or so.

Fantastic experience: Lessens are very clear for even an international student and instructor is very helpful. I have taken regular 6 lessens for 2 month. Then I passed skill test at another driving school.

But after consulting with a former instructor of Puget Sound Driving Academy, a new school is opening under new ownership called Time to Drive. Time to Drive is expected to open within the next week or so. The number listed for the new school is valid if you want to sign up for classes or get information about finishing your course. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT PUGET SOUND DRIVING ACADEMY FOR ANY REASON. THEY ARE CLOSED.

Fantastic experience: Puget Sound Driving Academy rocks! I was able to have my son take driver's ed classes at a pretty affordable price and best of all my son was able to relax with them much better with their instructors than with me trying to teach him . They were very knowledgeable about the safety laws and that put me at ease.

Negative experience: I called and they told me to just show up between 10 am to 4:30pm and I would be able to take my knowledge test. I came in the next day and they were closed due to "short staff". It was a real inconvenience as it was the only day I was able to do it. Also they are rude on the phones. I would recommend using another facility.
