Defensive Driving School and Driver License Testing Location

Defensive Driving School stands as a premier authority in driver education and licensing services, proudly serving the Pacific Northwest with a robust network of locations across multiple counties, including a dedicated center in Poulsbo. With a legacy of excellence, this locally owned institution has established itself as a trusted partner for learners of all ages, offering comprehensive programs designed to foster safety, confidence, and compliance with Washington State Department of Licensing standards.

Their flagship Teen Driver Education Program provides a rigorous 34-hour curriculum that combines classroom instruction, driver awareness training, behind-the-wheel lessons, and required student observations. Designed to accommodate busy schedules, courses are available both in-person and online, ensuring flexibility for students. The program emphasizes parental involvement, encouraging guardians to participate in driving sessions, and includes a dedicated parent information session. Upon successful completion, students receive an electronic certificate, facilitating a smooth transition to their provisional license.

For adults seeking to obtain their driver’s license or refresh their skills, the school offers tailored adult lessons and preparation for the official Knowledge Test. The Poulsbo location serves as both a convenient testing site for exams and a hub for specialized training. This includes Collision Avoidance techniques, Stick Shift Training, and the unique Tesla Experience for electric vehicle mastery. They also provide accredited courses for court and insurance approval, continuing education, and specialized programs for individuals with disabilities or those requiring rehabilitation driving training.

What sets Defensive Driving School apart is their commitment to personalized learning. They offer an Individualized Driving Program (IDP) for students who may benefit from additional time, support, or customized curriculum adjustments. With a vast network spanning King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, Thurston, Skagit, Spokane, and Eastern Washington counties, they ensure accessibility for nearly every resident.
