Fantastic experience: The coach is very patient, thoroughly pointing out any issues and providing guidance on how to become a good driver.

Negative experience: I had an extremely frustrating and unpleasant driving test with this school with Joyce. She is outright rude and disrespectful. The instructions given were vague and confusing, making it impossible to know what was expected. She intentionally tries to fail people who don’t take lessons there, which is completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, she didn’t provide the score sheet because she also knows it’s ridiculous. I’m planning to file a formal complaint. I would strongly advise against choosing this driving school especially this Joyce- save yourself the trouble and stress!

Fantastic experience: I chose to take the road test at IDA because Master Joyce is a multi-language speaker, it turned out to be a good choice. My examiner, Master Ms. JOYCE, who was very professional and had a good attitude. First she explained the rules , the test went smoothly. With recent targeted practices and previous driving experience, I successfully passed the test. Even after the test, Ms.JOYCE also gave very professional advice on a few weak points that she observed during road test, told me to adopt to the American system quickly and congratulated me on the passing score, very professional and polite. I personally highly recommend taking the test and training here.

Ms. Guo, the principal of this driving school, was very professional and kind to me during the test. It made me calm down and focused on the driving. Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test for my first try!!! I have been driving for 6months. When I felt more comfortable on the road, I scheduled a driving lesson with Nick one week before my driving test. He taught me so many important things during that 1.5hr session! On my actual driving test, Master Joyce is very calm during the driving test and it made me less tensed. She gives very clear instructions too! After the test, Master Joyce told me I passed and greeted me a happy birthday which is so nice. :) And he gave me important details to remember for when I start driving by myself. The whole experience with International Driving Academy was awesome and I highly recommend this driving school!

Fantastic experience: I totally recommend IDA to new drivers. To start with they have a really easy user friendly website to choose the slots. It can be booked well in advance for lessons as well as the driving test. Unlike some other schools where you have to call to know the slots. We took driving lessons from Joyce and she explained lot of details in small amount of time. Joyce was really prompt in responding to all my queries and concerns. The whole system they follow is hustle free and professional.

Negative experience: I felt like the lessons were being drawn out so that I could continue to keep paying for overpriced packages. I went to another driver's Ed school to get my license and passed on the first try without having to keep paying money. I knew that driver's school was not for me, but I had already paid so I just went so my money wouldn't be wasted. I thought my instructor would contradict herself, she would give me an instruction and then tell me another. Which can be frustrating while driving, but I kept my cool.

Fantastic experience: I had a two-hour class with Nick to prepare for the driving test and he was great! Nick guided me through all the skills, gave me useful tips, and all with a very calm demeanor that made me feel comfortable driving. I took the test with Joyce and she was also amazing. She really wants you to succeed so she makes every part of the test clear, no hidden tests or nit picks about your driving. The school has their own cars for the classes and test which were perfect for my situation.

He gave me lots of great tips about driving that I didn't know before (I have been driving for 17 years now). I especially appreciate his personal approach, he pointed out many things characteristic to WA that I might not know as a newcomer. Update: I had a warm-up and exam with Joyce, also an amazing teacher. Tons of great tips in just half an hour! And I appreciate her attitude on the exam, especially the question at the end: "what can you improve?". She is really passionate about turning her students into great drivers. If all the teachers were like Joyce and Nick, we'd have 50% less car accidents.

Fantastic experience: I recommend this place to anyone who needs road test, warm up or some short trainings before the test. Last week I passed my road test here, 35min warm up and 25min test with Joyce. As a new immirgant, even I had more than 10 years driving experience in my home country, there are different rules and courtesy in this state that I need to learn, and Joyce has done a wonderful job on this. I appreciate what she explained me in the final brief, no matter they are demerited points or not. Joyce is nice and professional in the whole process. Doesn't mean she is "easy" to let you pass. She is serious on the test, in a neutral attitude not to intentionally fail anyone. And she is very well organized with phone calls, mails, payments and appointments. In one word, don't hesitate to book!! This place deserves the high rates given by all members.

My instructor and examiner, Bob, was super patient throughout the process. The availability here for Mandarin speaking instructor was around 2 weeks to a month. Not bad at all if you compare it to other schools around the area. Fantastic experience: I love it here and can’t recommend more. I took knowledge test, driving lessons and driving test at IDA. Joyce knows exactly what she is doing and is really calm, considerate and also super clear on the instructions so no pressure at all. She always went through the things I missed after each class. And I know she works towards teaching me how to defensive driving and protect myself and not just to pass the test. My partner took classes at a different company several years ago and IDA is so much better. The commutation through emails about booking class is efficient for me. 120/100

Positive experience: I booked a single 2 hour mandarin language appt for my au pair hoping it would help her get more comfortable with driving around Seattle/Bellevue area and to practice driving on the highway. First, it took 3 days for me to book the appt bc they don’t answer their phones and don’t respond that quickly to emails. Second, they changed their address but didn’t not update their Apple Maps listing so when we my au pair put it in Apple maps, it sent her to the wrong address and the appt started 15 minutes late because of that. Thirdly, my au pair had already passed the drivers test and had told the instructor this but the instructor continued to tell her about points that would be deducted and basic info that she already knew. Finally, I also sent the school a list of driving topics to cover and it sounded like the instructor maybe covered 40% of those topics. Things just seemed disorganized at this school. I would not recommend them to anyone else; they are also more expensive compared to other schools.

Fantastic experience: I've got amazing experience here! I was scared to drive, especially at highways, but Joyce easily helped me to overcome this fear! I drove almost all highways. She helped me to understand how to approach highway driving, how to enter traffic, change lines and don't be scared. She was very cautious and prevented any unexpected situations with grace. She never yells, and I had great and fun time with her! She knows when you are ready to go to highway even if you feel that you are not ready. I'm very grateful she was my teacher!

We went for the warm up drive first, which was helpful for me to just get settled in and refreshed on driving in the US, and I got some very useful tips that I was able to put into practice for the test. She was very warm and friendly and also had lots of advice and notes and visual aids that we talked through before the test and after to give me some helpful takeaways for the future. The master instructor MS.Joyce did a commendable job, not just teaching for the sake of. Her level of patience for any new driver like me and her knowledge is remarkable. She is a very dedicated teacher and makes each and every minute of the paid lesson not just worthy, but it makes you a defensive driver. she keenly found my needs, and places of attention like signals,turns,signboards and corrected it. She also figured out my native influences in driving and corrected accordingly. Also I couldn't get my lessons immediately when I wanted, but totally worth the wait.(as she is the best teacher in town) I would suggest anyone to wait &take the lesson in IDA. Overall, If you are totally a new driver/who knows a bit, IDA is the best place to choose as it provides the right guidance, when followed makes all your driving dreams come true.

Fantastic experience: My experience with IDA and my instructor was excellent. Joyce was really patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was a great idea to take a 35min warm up before the driving test. Even after watching numerous YouTube tutorials on parallel parking, I performed it incorrectly despite having driving expertise. Joyce was able to give tips and tricks on how to accomplish it easily, and I felt my instructor was really interested in ensuring I was ready to obtain my driver's license. It was extremely useful! Fantastic experience: I came here for the knowledge test, then took classes and then the driving test. My experience here was great!! I started out super nervous on the road and made mistakes like 90% of the time (or more lol) but Joyce was super patient with me She's a great instructor and very knowledgeable. She was able to detect what I needed to work on and arranged the classes in the way that I could practice what I was bad at and eventually become better at it. She gave me lots of tips during classes and what I should be careful of before the actual exam and that was super helpful. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: I did both my knowledge exam and skill exam here, they were both pretty good experiences. In the skill exam I booked a warmup session where the instructor taught me a lot of useful things, which I’m sure will come to great use in the future. It’s a bit of a pity that the spots are kind of limited, you need to book a month ahead for a skill exam. Overall it is very recommended.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a driving school, please make sure you put IDA at the top of your list. I am very grateful that I chose IDA for my knowledge test, 6 hours driving lessons and a day after my last lesson, I took the drive test (with warm-up session). Thankfully, I passed it and today I got my driver's license. Yay!!! Joyce, my instructor was a total stranger for me, but I don't know how, she made me comfortable to ask and to be myself. She knew that when I giggled, it meant that I started to understand what she was saying and she also stayed calm when I screamed here and there. Thank you so much Joyce. I hope IDA will last long, grow bigger, stay trustworthy. PS : For you who already registered for the lessons at IDA, give yourself 5-10 minutes and go straight to the restroom at IDA before you start to drive or maybe you will need to excuse yourself in the middle of the lesson just to pee.

I took the warm-up class with Joyce on my test date and she eased me and gave tips on how to reduce mistakes.She was soo friendly unlike other places i have given tests and made sure i perfect my driving skills. I would 100% refer to all my friends to take guidance under Joyce, she is an amazing teacher!

Fantastic experience: As a European who recently moved to Washington, I had to get my driver's license within 30 days after arriving. I used IDA driving school for my knowledge test, which worked out great. The actual driving test went smoothly, where the instructor shared a few last tips&tricks before starting the test, made me feel super comfortable during the ride, and walked me through both good and watch-out remarks after I passed the exam. The instructor was relaxed, taking a lot of time to make sure I felt comfortable and understood the guidelines, before hitting the road. Great experience overall!

Fantastic experience: The locating is very clean, the staff are extremely friendly and the driving instructor is amazing. I was able to take both knowledge and driving test same day. The driving instructor did not try to trick me, and overall was a great experience, especially when she offered me tips prior to the test. A class service. 6 starts in my book.

Fantastic experience: As a former student here, highly recommend IDA! I received lessons and completed my written and driving test here over the summer. Before coming to IDA, I was really anxious about driving and couldn't imagine being comfortable enough getting behind the wheel. Thanks to my instructor, Joyce, I was able to overcome my fear, properly learn all the fundamentals/skills, and gain confidence while driving. She was extremely informative, patient with my progress, and always encouraging me to do my best. At every lesson, she always took the time to thoroughly explain and answer all my questions without any judgment. I'm extremely thankful to have attended IDA and received lessons from such an amazing and caring instructor like Joyce!

Fantastic experience: 10/10 would recommend IDA! I took both my permit written exam and my driving test here. I took 10 hours class and it was just perfect. I learned how to parallel park, back around the corner, drive on the highway (merge, enter, exit, switch lane) in no time. Joyce is a true natural when it comes to teaching. She’s very patient, knowledgeable, and attentive. She would never yell at you. Each lesson, she would introduce a new challenge! I will really really miss driving with Her! If you’re reading this Joyce, keep going! We need more teacher like you! ❤️

Fantastic experience: After a very bad experience with another driving school, this was a real refreshing experience. Joyce is very professional, consciousness and really passionate about what she does. I can tell she cares about her students and want them to succeed, she takes the time to explain and goes into details. I cannot recommend this enough.

Fantastic experience: I booked a lesson with Joyce and she taught me a lot of the skills that I can't learn on my own. On my testing date she helped me calm my nerves during the warmup so I was able to pass the road test. Joyce is very skilled and patient. Definitely recommend doing lessons and testing here. It is also easy to schedule an appointment too.

Fantastic experience: The other reviews don't lie, Joyce is amazing as she sounds. Seriously, stop looking for other driving test locations - this is the one you want. I booked a quick review lesson followed immediately by a driving test. In total, I spent two hours behind the wheel next to Joyce, who, although was a complete stranger, made me feel perfectly comfortable the whole entire time. She shared her vast knowledge of Washington driving laws and nuances, taught me new tips and tricks for mastering some trickier maneuvers, and then proceeded to professionally and fairly evaluate my driving during the test. We've all heard the horror stories about awful driving instructors and driving test evaluators. Joyce is the complete opposite, to the point where she decided to give me a second chance on my test when a weird encounter with another driver ruined my ability to pass. She saved me weeks of time in doing so, and I'm very grateful for it. PS. When paying her after your lesson/test, be sure to tip her. The application she uses to process payments doesn't make it clear that this is an option, and a glare on the screen caused me to miss it entirely. She deserves the tip!

Fantastic experience: First thing first, I would highly recommend IDA and Joyce if you have any needs in driving! I took my knowledge test, driving lessons as well as road test all at IDA and I was super impressed by how helpful Joyce was throughout the process. Instead of throwing you to the road directly, she started with detailed explanations of the vehicle, sharing tips and tricks, emphasizing the importance to be a defensive driver. All these notes stay in my mind even after my lessons. During driving, Joyce always made the experience fantastic. She held interesting conversations with me while kept high standards in providing driving feedbacks which I truly appreciated. She is wonderful to work with, as a professional instructor, or as a nice friend. I can continue talking but all I want to say is, you won't regret choosing IDA to start your driving journey!

Fantastic experience: I have never posted a review but Joyce's teaching made me want to write one. She's a fantastic instructor. I have went through 3 different driving schools and Joyce is by far the most patient and professional instructor. She really wants you to not only pass the test but also learn to drive safely and defensively.
