Positive experience: *update* I was given a refund for the lessons I had taken with the teacher who was inappropriate. Even though it took a while, we did come to a resolution, and the situation has been handled.** 1) I did get my drivers license so I'm thankful but 2) the teacher I had for my last two lessons, Anthony at the little village location, was completely inappropriate with me during those two lessons. Making diddy jokes, calling me pet names, touching me. Unacceptable. I called in to make a complaint three weeks ago and they just got back to me today to say that they're handling it. "Internally" I feel like I wasn't taken seriously I wanted a refund for the lessons that I took with him, they mentioned giving me an hour, but I was so frustrated. I hung up the phone. I tried to explain to the supervisor if this was his daughter, and he did not like me using that example. I wonder why. I don't think Anthony is calling 6 foot four KEVIN, "my love" the company explained that they couldn't extract the audio from the dash cam and not only does that create an unsafe environment for the person taking the lesson, but also a lack of accountability on the teacher. Sexual harassment training needs to be done and I need a refund. This teacher was around my age btw (27)

Fantastic experience: Smooth instructors and who really can work with anyone. For all beginner adults I recommend the 8 hr section for $400. After that just do some practice on your own and you can have your license in a month or two.

Fantastic experience: I honestly don't know if I would have ever learned to drive, felt comfortable driving, and gotten my license without these lessons with Edgar (and a few with Augustine, too)! They both supported me in my anxiety and need for lots of over explaining. Edgar helped me start my journey on my first class, drive in the rain, take on highway driving, and ultimately supported me to get my license! I got the ultimate beginner package because even though I had attempted to learn from many well meaning friends and family, I could never get into a learning space for fear of wrecking their car or our relationship. Having the instruction car with a brake on the passenger/instructor side AND the instructors' expertise in teaching made it so helpful to ease into learning. I also got the pre-test additional class to feel super ready and confident before taking the test and passed it easily. I cannot imagine even 6 months ago saying I passed the road test easily or that I drove on the highway! Truly can't believe it, but it's real and if you're also a nervous adult looking to finally drive or start driving again, this is worth every penny. Oh and the at home pickup add on is the best. Fantastic experience: Registered today for an intermediate course and wasn't sure if I meet the qualifications. I was able to inquire over the phone and spoke with Camila who was extremely knowledgeable and helped me to identify if this was the right course for me. She also supported me in getting registered for my first session and made sure to ask about my availability and provided variety of ways to maintain contact. I'm sorry glad I had support in finding the right program for me would recommend their services.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Nova Driving School for my road test preparation. I've been a struggling driver for years. Anxiety held me back from getting my license sooner as an adult, but Augustine was very encouraging. I failed my road test the first time, but purchased the 1 hour BTW & road test to try again. Agustine helped me fix the errors in my driving and gave me tips on how to be safe on the road. He's a great instructor! I definitely felt less anxious with him and more willing to learn. Because of Nova, I received my driver's license today at the Lexington location. I highly encourage anyone to look into Nova for road test preparation, especially anxious, first-time student drivers. They're incredible!

Fantastic experience: 26th st location— As a nervous student it was definitely a big step for me but thanks my instructors Augustine and Tony ( I can’t thank them enough) my experience was amazing!!! They’re patient and answered all my questions , very professional and they take their time. So 5 starts to them hands down !! They know what they’re doing :) — I will say the only issue I had was with customer service, Myriam to be exact. There was an issue with the online portal but after showing proof to one of the front desk personnel I was asked to start the practice while they figure out things on their end… not even 10 minutes in practice and Myriam rudely comes in the room in front of another person practicing as well telling me that “I have no account , that I had not paid and I shouldn’t be there” I calmly stepped out and we were able to resolve the issue since it was on their end . However first impressions matter and it was not very professional how she handled the situation specially in front of other adults. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go back but I did and thankfully my experience was way better this time.

Fantastic experience: I’m a local New Yorker that has been living in Chicago for the past 6months. At the time of finding Nova driving school, I was looking to reach a goal that most transplants already have achieved: getting a drivers license. Now, I mentioned this earlier but New Yorkers are hard to win over- we don’t trust easily, we’re not kind, we’re weary mostly of anyone who is too kind to us. I bought the ultimate beginners package- and I read the fine print, almost begrudgingly: 2 hours per session. So here I was: in an awkward yet expected predicament. I knew I wanted to win- New Yorkers Win, and I was getting my license. But to sit in a car with another human who was going to tell me what to do- jeez. They had to be good. They had to meet my standard. They had to be the best. Edgar- I never knew your last name but I credit this achievement to you. Your professional, direct and welcoming demeanor won me over as one of the most patient teachers. You’re up there with my high school English teacher, and my elementary Spanish teacher. I was behind the wheel with very basic experience- ready to be a passenger princess for the rest of my life. But your guidance and tenacity helped me achieve my “passion project”. I appreciate Nova for hiring instructors like him. They care about their craft, they want their students to win, and of course hold them accountable with the skip fees (). Our car lessons were nothing short of professional and honestly as a new person to the Chicago area, it was another way for me to discover this beautiful vast city. I currently work at an organization where we promote job readiness skills, an essential for any new worker is to have their license. I will be counseling many newcomers as they make their transition into careers- and for those that don’t have a license, I will recommend Nova Driving School Instructor Edgar (last name unknown) to be their instructor. Should Nova ever decide to remove Edgar as an instructor, they would be experiencing a loss. You rock man! Thank you. Mil Gracias

Positive experience: Edgar was a great instructor! Patient, informative and great communication skills! He even called me early on the day of road test when there was a mess up of appointments, so I didn't have to travel all the way. Augustine was very cheerful and encouraging too. The only reason for the 4 stars is the call wait times. I've had to wait close to an hour twice and still could not get through. Getting to talk to someone is extremely difficult at times. Please upstaff there.

Negative experience: The instructor was very impatient and rude to me. Every time that I wanted to ask a question about something, he would question me if I really knew how to drive. Not professional at all because his cell phone kept ringing. If you don’t like your job what the hell are u an instructor. Even though I was the one paying per hour to get trained.

Fantastic experience: David Cruz has been my instructor several times at Nova. At first I never thought I would be able to drive on the highway. But with David’s help, I can safely merge in and out of traffic. He is patient and will gladly answer every question. I scheduled a session for 7:00 am and he happily accepted. David will work with your schedule. I highly recommend David for anyone.

Another aspect that set them apart from other driving schools were the flexibility of their lessons-- they have a large number of instructors who can accommodate a large portion of the day, which makes scheduling very simple and stress-free.

Positive experience: While I don't have a review for NOVA service, Andrew, the manager at the Western Avenue location was just wonderful in helping me. I paid for a package, but then my daughter wasn't available and things became very confusing. Andrew was very patient and helped me work through all of the options. Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience (November 2022) with Nova and their Adult 2Hr Behind the Wheel + Road Test Prep program. Communication with every member of the team was great, booking was easy, details were confirmed, and the class/road test experience were smooth and satisfactory. Being able to book a program that includes use of a Nova vehicle for the road test was a big factor for my situation, and I was very satisfied with how it worked out. My instructor was great, and his training was essential to my passing the road test on the first try. I would (and have) happily recommend the Nova Driving School for anyone in need of driving instruction, development, or test preparation.

Fantastic experience: I took Nova's Adult Intermediate 6 hour course and it was excellent. I had Thelma P. and Augustine M. as my first instructors and they were both very reassuring and offered great advice. Ismail A. was my instructor the day of my road test; he was also fantastic! We practiced the course the morning of the test and he instilled a lot of confidence, eased my anxiety before the test, and also offered great general driving tips and defensive driving advice. I'd strongly recommend adult lessons for anyone interested; the instructor's have all been extremely helpful, kind, professional, and courteous. Having a mix of instructors also felt good because I got input and advice from multiple perspectives. I felt confident behind the wheel after my first lesson.

I have had alot of diffrent instructors over my time with nova but this last time practicing with the instructor Mr. Ismail was by far one of the best expiernces driving. We were practicing around the dmv area and ismail was very chill and definitly calmed down my nerves. I was so nervous practicing becuase i was gonna take my drivers test in a hour but ismail definitly taught me everything i need to learn in the test. Absoloutly recommned ismail as a instructor!

He does a good job of explaining rules of the road without sounding condescending or getting frustrated, even in stressful situations. My instructor, Ismail, was professional, timely and informative about the rules of the road with larger trucks and vehicles. He worked with me for 30 hours in total. Ismail's commitment to my comfort level aided me in excelling my skills while learning how to drive the truck. Ismail was very encouraging but also didn't force anything too quickly on me. He allowed me the time I needed to get comfortable with both the vehicle and driving on the road. I highly recommend Nova Driving School for your driving needs.

Fantastic experience: Nova Driving School is definitely a great choice. They really help you learn and teach you everything you need to know in a way you don’t lose confidence. Driving is very easy. I just want anyone taking it for the first time or even the second time just lose all jitters. And you’ll do fine. The actual road test at the DMV is very easy. It’s really the horror stir you hear that messes you up in the head.
