At Gateway Driving School, located in Baltimore, we provide quality driving education that prepares you to obtain your driver's license and become a safe driver for life. Our instructors boast over 40 years of driving experience, all have been tested and approved by the Maryland Vehicle Administration (MVA), and they maintain a clean driving record.

Our driver's education program includes both theoretical and practical training, covering 36 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training with certified instructors. In addition to basic driving education, we also offer extra driving lessons, driver improvement programs, and Drug and Alcohol programs. Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience with this driving school due to unprofessional conduct from the instructor. During class, the instructor shared personal details about my learning progress and makeup lessons in front of other students. This information was not hers to disclose, and she did so without understanding the reasons behind my situation. It was embarrassing and inappropriate. In addition, the instructor arrived late to my scheduled driving lesson without acknowledgment or apology. During the three-hour classroom sessions, there were also extended periods of silence with no instruction or engagement, which felt like poor use of paid time. Finally, the instructor’s communication style often came across as dismissive and borderline bullying toward students, rather than supportive or instructional. A driving school should be a professional and respectful learning environment, and that was not my experience here.

Gateway Driving School

No student name was given, the class had to learn about the new changes. A student had been scheduling numerous makeups and not attending the make up classes they scheduled. The student was sent email reminders and even had phone calls reminders but kept missing the makeups. New students were being told if they did this we would be charging a fee if they scheduled a make up and not attend. They also were being told if they drive over the speed limit the instructor will take over the driving. The instructor never identified the name of the student.
