Beltway Driving Academy: Reviews
Negative experience: My son complete driving school over 3 weeks ago and still has been receiving emails about class attendance. I have called and left several messages over the last two weeks to find out why my son is still receiving emails about classes he has completed?!! NO ONE has returned my calls! Or answers the phone. What poor customer service this school has! I will be filing a complaint with the MVA tomorrow!
Fantastic experience: Great driving school. Staff was professional and accommodating. The evening class times were great for working professionals, and I felt that the instructor did an excellent job of presenting the course material in a way that was accessible for both the teenagers and adults in the class. I was not treated like a kid in high school, which I greatly appreciated, and would recommend Beltway Driving Academy for anyone interested in learning the rules of the road.
Fantastic experience: Family feel. Staff is very nice and extremely understanding. If I could give Beltway a 10 I would. Hands down best place. I’ve enjoyed being apart of this and of course I’ve learned everything that I need to know and more! Thank you Mrs Cassandra!
Fantastic experience: I definitly recommend this driving school. Its so friendly and helpful and the prices better.
Fantastic experience: I love the family feel...and the special attention the instructior gives each student..
Fantastic experience: Overall my experience with Beltway Driving Academy has been GREAT. I made up a drivers education class with Mrs. Kassandra for one day. I was impressed at how well she was able maintain focus in the class but added humor to keep the class engaged. Shes awesome!! Finished my last driving time with Caleb and he was great!! He provided great feedback, and helped tailor the instruction as to what I needed.
Fantastic experience: My first impression of driving school is that it would be boring and another three hours of school. After attending driving school at Beltway Driving Academy the three hours spent in the classroom flew by. The class at Beltway Driving Academy is interactive and fun.
Positive experience: UPDATED: The owner contacted me to remedy the problem, and assured me that he had made changes in office personnel after I had difficulties in February and March. Based on the responsiveness of the owner and the quality of the instruction (which was excellent) I am upgrading my review from 1 star to 4 stars and hope to be able to raise it higher when my son's instruction is completed. INITIAL: My son attended the classroom sessions at Beltway Driving Academy in Crofton last summer (2015). Rightly or wrongly, my husband decided to have him wait to do his driving practice closer to when he was taking his test (he was eligible the first of April). I began calling and emailing to schedule driving practice for him in early February. None of my calls were returned, none of my emails answered. I finally got someone on the phone mid-March, and we were able to schedule driving practice in April and May - weeks apart. His first practice is today, none of the emails they have sent have indicated where he is to be picked up (I requested it be at his high school, but that's not noted on the email), and they are again not answering the phone. While their instruction maybe excellent, their customer service is not and I could not in good faith recommend them to anyone.
Positive experience: Update: owner contacted me and apologized and really made a difference and made me realize this isn't a regular occurrence Terrible driving school poorly informed instructors driving coaches are unprofessional and unatentive and they fail to send driving school completion to mva in a timely manner, would give 0 stars if possible
Fantastic experience: I will most definitely be recommending any and everyone I can to this location. The classroom portion was engaging and entertaining. I loved how the teacher would make personal connections to the topics we were being taught in class. This made them more relatable, even to someone like me, who had extremely limited driving experience at the time, and in turn, the relatability made it more understandable. One of the main reasons I picked this location was because of its extremely convenient weekend classes. Being a high school student, that kind of weekend availability was imperative to my being able to attend the classes. It was very easy to make friends with not just the other students, but the teacher as well and these new bonds were strengthened by the teamwork used to play some of the jeopardy-style games. The atmosphere was so great that regardless of whether you were on the losing team or the winning team, you still had a blast playing. To sweeten the deal further, on the last day of the classroom portion, we celebrated with a pizza party. The driving portion was great. During my first lesson, I definitely wasn't that good (remember that limited driving experience I mentioned earlier?.. yeah). But I ended up driving really well since my instructor was very thorough in explaining to me what it was I needed to work on. For the driving portion, you shouldn't be depending solely on this, or any, driving academy to absolutely perfect your driving skills. The instructor will teach what needs to be taught and evaluate what needs to be evaluated and it's your job as the student to listen carefully and practice as much as you need to. If you do your part like you're supposed to, you'll be just fine :) I went from my definition of "Goodness gracious I cannot stay in my lane for my life" to "This is a breeze" and this great improvement was achieved due to the spectacular work on the Academy's part as well as my own ability to listen to my instructor's evaluation and practice, practice, practice. If you're considering this location, you should definitely go for it.
Fantastic experience: GREAT experience at Beltway Driving Academy!!! I attended this past summer and learned a lot in just two weeks of classes! The instructors were very experienced and knew what they were teaching very well. Not only was the Drivers Education very informative and helpful as a novice driver with little experience, but the price was unbeatable! Around $100 less than any other school in the area! Also, the drive times were very helpful and I learned a lot in the behind the wheel (btw) lessons! By the end of the third and final one, I was fully prepared for the final driving test, and passed on my first try! They were very flexible with the scheduling as well. I had to cancel my third drive time due to an emergency and they were able to fit me in before my scheduled driving test which was just 4 days later! During behind the wheel lessons I was taught the correct procedures for parallel parking, backing and pulling in, switching lanes and many more essential driving maneuvers! The instructor actually let me drive to the location where I would be taking the test and walked me through the path for the test so that I would know what to expect and be better prepared for the real test. Overall definitely 5 out of 5 stars! I would highly recommend Beltway Driving Academy!
Fantastic experience: Great School.
Negative experience: Enrolled our daughter for driving class July2. Was told AFTER she completed her classroom portion she would not be driving until Nov. That is not acceptable. You have to go online once they pass the written classroom portion to sign up for driving and the next class was Nov 15, four months later. How is this good practice. My child would have forgotten everything she has learned in four months. The administration acted like this was no big deal. I would not have enrolled my daughter in this school if I knew ahead of time this was their practice. So BE WARNED. Oh did I mention you can't sign up for all driving sessions at once. You have to complete day 1 of driving then go online to schedule day 2 which at this rate would be another four months. NOT HAPPY.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Ruiz did visit our website 30 minutes after her daughter completed the 30 hours of classroom instruction and the system did show an available behind the wheel lesson date of November 15. Mrs. Ruiz called the office immediately to rightfully express her displeasure. We explained to her that the first available drive date was definitely not November as shown online as the dates for her class had not yet been published. At that time we scheduled her daughter for all three of her behind the wheel lessons for the last week of August.
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience at this driving school!, very informative and helpful
Fantastic experience: I attended this driving school in the summer of 2013. I looked around for driving schools and I think this is the only one I felt really welcomed and wanted once entering the school. They are willing and wanting to help us be safe drivers and learn the rules of the road. It is a family feel and I enjoyed every day of my two weeks there. I would defiantly recommend anyone to attend this school.
Fantastic experience: Good customer service, professional staff, and outstanding class! I recommend everyone to this place, you will not be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Wow! This is a great driving academy! Very clean environment. The instructors presented the information in creative ways. I highly recommend them!
