Fantastic experience: I was devastated and grappling with the reality that I would lose the independence I had in driving myself anywhere. However, I discovered that I could drive with my hands, although it was initially scary. Community Independence Solution, PLLC and Joe made it manageable and even enjoyable. Joe is patient, focused on the best outcomes for his clients, and helped make learning hand controls feel clear and not overwhelming. Fantastic experience: As Mr.Joe’s star pupil it was a privilege to work and train beside him. As a person with Cerebral Palsy, it has been hard to maneuver a car and feel safe, especially after a couple of car accidents. However, after extensive training by a wonderful teacher, I am much more of a confident drive, especially with my left foot accelerator and wheel knob. Thank you again for the opportunity to be trained by such a wonderful professional ( I even passed the DPS test with a 94)!!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about Joe. Nothing but praises for his willingness, patience, expertise, professionalism and courage to help the disabled gain their independence back by teaching us how to re-learn to drive or in some cases drive for the first time. After l suffered a stroke in 2022, l have substantial right side weakness and lack of coordination with my arm, hand, leg and foot. In December of 2024, I started searching the internet for driving lessons for the disabled and came across CIS and it was exactly what I was looking for! I called and the receptionist(Rae) was very nice and helpful. She explained everything in detail and the rest is history. I took 26 hours of behind the wheel training in 2 hour increments using a left foot accelerator and ball on steering wheel. Joe definitely trained me harder than the DPS test actually was. He made sure that l was ready and I passed the test on 6/12/25 with flying colors. JOE FRANCIS, YOU ARE TRULY A GOD-SENT BLESSING AND I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH YOU ROCK!

Fantastic experience: Joe was very supportive and instructive in providing me the opportunity to get behind the wheel again! I suffered two strokes back in 2019 and was totally incapacitated and was reliant on everyone else for everything. I went through intensive inpatient therapy for six months and finally was released as an outpatient where I continued my therapy for several years and still ongoing. The one thing missing was my ability to drive which was really restricting my independent nature. So in 2022 I was referred to his company Community Independence Solutions. It was nerve-racking at first, but his confidence, composure and ongoing encouragement whether before, during or after my driving lessons helped me tremendously to regain my confidence. He kept reminding me I was “relearning” how to drive not learning how to drive. It was a good reminder that I had done this before and I just needed to get my “new self” to learn it again. His lessons progressed from driving in the neighborhood, to driving on the main thoroughfares and eventually on the highway. It also included things such as parallel parking all in the spirit of passing my driving test and getting my drivers license renewed. I finally passed my driving test in October 2022. I couldn’t have done it without Joe’s amazing help! Thank you Joe!! Would wholeheartedly and absolutely recommend him and his company!

Fantastic experience: I was so scared to drive my new van! I had given up after trying for almost a year. Then I found Joe on the internet and my life has changed! Joe drove almost 2 hours to my residence to help me learn to drive from my wheelchair with hand controls and a spinner knob on my modified conversion van. My fear and anxiety was so high. After meeting Joe and talking with him for a bit, I felt like I could learn and pass the driving test with Joe’s kind and compassionate instruction and assurance. He listened to my needs and fears. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable to start driving. Now I drive independently almost daily. Fantastic experience: I had to learn to drive with hand controls because I became paralyzed in December 2020. In 10 hours/5 sessions I passed my driving test and am getting my car modified with hand controls. My rehab occupational therapist recommended Community Independence so I called right away. Joe is an amazing instructor who has the experience and knowledge. Great experience and I’m so thankful that he was able to get me past my driving test without any problems. Thanks Joe!
