Behind The Wheel School of Driving

Rooted in Safety and Decades of Experience

Established in Beachwood, Ohio, Behind The Wheel School of Driving has been providing professional driver education since 1993. The academy prioritizes a secure and inclusive environment where both new drivers and individuals with special needs can build essential road skills. Instructors undergo rigorous annual background checks, ensuring that every lesson focuses on defensive driving techniques and situational awareness.

Instructors Who Make Learning Engaging

Students consistently highlight the approachable and highly skilled teaching staff. Instructors like Mr. Flynn, Mr. Adams, Ari Klarfeld, and Mr. Ferris are praised for their ability to explain road rules and vehicle mechanics clearly, fostering real understanding rather than rote memorization. Lessons are described as comfortable, patient, and even entertaining, with instructors using humor and real-world stories to keep students relaxed during behind-the-wheel sessions.

Flexible Learning Formats and Easy Scheduling

The program offers a comprehensive digital curriculum alongside practical training. Learners can complete online classroom hours at their own pace, with options for remote sessions, while in-car lessons are arranged through a user-friendly online portal. The school provides convenient home pickups and maintains a flexible approach when accommodating last-minute changes or external scheduling conflicts, often with direct owner support.

Proven Results and Student Confidence

Graduates frequently report high first-attempt pass rates for both permit knowledge exams and practical road tests. The training emphasizes hands-on maneuverability practice and stress-free exam preparation, leaving students with genuine driving confidence rather than temporary memorization. Many parents note how their teens transition smoothly from classroom theory to independent, road-legal driving.
