NC Driving 101

Fantastic experience: I took the class and actually had a good time, the teacher kept the class engaging and I retained what I had learned throughout the lessons. Furthermore, when I had to do my driving portion he was very kind and let me decide when I was ready to drive on the road and highway. All in all, great class, great teacher, 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: NC Driving 101 was vital to my son's success in completing the coursework, behind the wheel training and ultimately passing the DMV permit test. The online class started on time each evening and was engaging and relevant. After completing behind the wheel training my son was confident and ready for the DMV. He followed the study tips given in class and got his permit on the first try. He attributes his success and readiness for the road to Mr. Rathke and NC Driving 101. Its a great choice when learning to drive.

We previously started behind the wheel at another agency and didn't receive the kind of verbal encouragement and small steps towards progress that my teen needed. Negative experience: I’ve called literally seven times in the past two weeks. I was unable to reach the owner, I just kept receiving text messages about him being in a meeting. It’s as if they don’t want any business.

Fantastic experience: NC Driving 101 was amazing with our daughter Ella!!! Andy taught her about real life experiences as well as the “have to know” material required by the state. His personal touch was awesome and made the whole experience enjoyable for her. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone needing driving instruction!

Fantastic experience: Mr. Rathke is very patient and accommodating. My child is good with test, but only if she is in a separate room taking it with no distractions. Mr. Rathke allowed her to go to another room and she passed the written part with a 97. My child also has motion sickness, and anxiety, and could not be in the car with another student since eventually she will have to sit in the back and possibly get dizzy and sick. Mr. Rathke made some time to drive her by himself on the weekend, and is going to continue to work with us until she gets the rest of her 4 hours in. I could not believe that she had actually drove as far as she did on the road the first time he took her driving. Mr. Rathke must have made her feel really at ease, or he could perform miracles LOL. You will not get this type of treatment in public school. Trust me, I had my oldest child go through the public drivers ed, and I was not happy. They did not take their time with her, and had her on the highway before I even felt she was ready. Do to this, my child almost got rear-ended by a Tracker Trailer. I told myself after that, I was not going to have my youngest child go through the public drivers ed. But Mr. Rathke has not done any of this and is letting my child go at her own pace. The location is clean and I felt relaxed when I was there. There is a bathroom and a break area for the kids. I know that that private Driver’s Ed classes (like Mr. Rathke’s classes) are pricey compared to the public system, but Driving 101 was worth the money. I gambled with my first kid, and that could have been the last time I saw her due to the fast pace public school driver’s ed system (“get them in and get them out as soon you can” type attitude). Even if you stop your $3 a day coffee habit and make coffee at home, you will be saving $60 a month and will be able to pay for this class in 7 months. Bring your lunch to work if you have to, and save all the money you would have spent in a jar for this class. To me it was worth every penny that was spent, and you will have peace of mind.
