The Riding Academy of NJ
The Riding Academy of NJ stands as the premier destination for motorcycle safety training in New Jersey, offering a comprehensive range of courses designed for riders of all skill levels. Located at the accessible Montclair State University in Clifton, our academy is officially approved by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) and operates under the guidance of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). With a remarkable 92% pass rate for licensing courses, we are recognized nationwide as a gold standard in rider education, earning the trust of major corporations like BMW and Harley-Davidson, who send their employees to master safe riding techniques with our elite instructors.
Our curriculum is tailored to meet every rider's needs, from beginners taking the Basic RiderCourse (BRC1) to experienced motorcyclists seeking to refine their skills. Whether you are aiming to obtain your initial motorcycle license, earn an endorsement, or take advantage of defensive driving discounts for insurance point reduction, we provide clear, structured, and safe learning environments. We also offer specialized clinics such as the Trail Braking Course (TBC) to enhance turning techniques, and practice sessions to improve slow-speed control and critical emergency stopping skills.
Beyond the classroom and track, The Riding Academy of NJ is deeply committed to community safety and rider support. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we actively work to reduce motorcycle crashes in the state, providing extensive resources including free safety videos on our YouTube channel, a private alumni Facebook group for ongoing mentorship, and detailed riding tips. Join us to learn not just how to ride, but how to ride safely and responsibly, contributing to a future where motorcycles share the road with zero crashes.

Fantastic experience: Just completed and passed my riding skills test at the APRC on Saturday, October 26th and must express my gratitude and praise to an amazing organization, with outstanding instructors and staff, who it made possible to obtain this milestone! The support from beginning to end is incredible, with seasoned, professional, knowledgeable and compassionate instructors who make it their objective to hone the skills necessary to complete the test! This is the third “riding academy” I have attended…and the third one is the charm! Kudos to an amazing staff, with special thanks to riding instructors Wendy Baytan, Lou Pisano with the additional support of Alex Zarenin….and I would be remiss if I did not sing the praises of “Super Dave” who makes the experience “serious fun”. Fantastic experience: BEST RIDING ACADEMY OF NEW JERSEY AND THATS NOT AN EXAGGERATION! Fast Ed, Paul & Felix were hands down amazing teachers. Super insightful, helpful & just flat out great people. For anyone interested in getting their motorcycle endorsement in the state of NJ, this is the spot to go do just that! Can’t thank these guys, Dave Belizzi & the rest of the team enough for having made this not only a great lesson in properly and safely riding a motorcycle but a great experience overall. Thanks again RANJ!
Thank you for the kind words. As we say in our Orientation Session, we take training our students very seriously. We not only want to teach you how to ride a motorcycle, we want to keep you safe on one.
Fantastic experience: I've taken the trail-braking class, critical skills, and slow maneuvers with this team. They are absolutely fantastic. Trail braking changed the way I turn and corner for the better - forever! Great for accomplished riders or beginners - something to learn and improve on for every rider. Great classes and well worth the time.
Thank you your kind words. Keep on SEEing.
