Iron Buffalo Motorcycle Training

Positive experience: I just took the beginner class and it was excellent. Above and beyond. We were a mix of folks getting back on bikes after 10 - 30 years (me) and straight up beginners. Everyone learned or relearned the essentials for safe and controlled riding. Really a great course. I left confident that I'm ready to go buy a bike and ride better than I ever did before. 4 stars instead of 5 because the instructor went a bit gonzo on me but I know it came from passion for riding and caring about students' success and safety.

Negative experience: Was really upset about how the instructor was not patient he yelled at me time and time again when I stalled on on my bike making me feel uncomfortable and not confident. The first time I fell off my bike the seat came off with it and he came over and apologized because he said "I duck taped the seat cause I didn't know how to put it on" I'm sorry....? What?!?! They drill into us to make sure the bike is well maintenance and he let me practice with a bike that has the seat DUCK TAPED TO THE BIKE?!?! I wasn't even notified about the bike seat being taped on before the lessons started. The second time I fell off was because the seat was wiggling due to it barely hanging on with what little stickiness the duck tape had i fell off and the instructor yelled at me and For apparently not knowing my bodies limit when i was because the seat was not secure. I'm a short rider so I know it's hard to find a class that compensate for short riders. If you are looking for classes please go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Shal and Peter were both amazing instructors who are incredibly knowledgeable and care about promoting rider safety. Don't waste your time taking any other ordinary msf class just to save a few bucks. The competent instructors, selection of motorcycles, and huge dedicated parking lot add even more value to the top notch training material. And then there's the opportunity to take even more advanced classes, too. This is the ONLY school I will ever recommend to anyone learning to ride! Thanks again, Shal, Peter and Iron Buffalo!

Positive experience: If you’re looking for a beginner class, I suggest looking elsewhere. I was reprimanded multiple times for my tardiness in front of the group. 1st infraction, I was 5 mins late - I take full responsibility; however, calling me out in front of the group is arrogant and shameless. 2nd and 3rd infraction I was maybe 1-2 mins late to a group gathering after a break because it takes significantly longer for me to put on my gear; apologies for not wanting to bake in the heat with everything on. One other classmate got away with being 30 mins late to class after witnessing me getting scolded for a few mins the prior day. Another classmate delayed class and forced the instructors to move the written exam up bc he didn’t come with prepared with his gear. Neither one of them got scolded. I also found it amusing that when I was reprimanded for my tardiness, one of the instructors (Shal) laid down the blanket phrase to the whole group, “if anyone else is late, they’ll be sent home.” I singularly kept getting in trouble for absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of the class. Makes me think their judgements had something to do with race/bias, but I can’t prove that outright. Just airing my grievances for how I was treated. I showed up. I came prepared. I passed everything I needed to. So much for motorcyclists being all inclusive. As for the actual instruction, it’s an okay class. I was kinda bitter the entire time bc of how I was treated, but they do teach you the basics, I guess. Wish they spent more time on slow/sharp turn maneuvers and included sharp u-turns. If you fail the practical skills portion, you gotta pay $125 to redo it. Seems more like a lack of good instruction than student error. Why charge students again if they barely do not pass? They’ve already shelled out hundreds of dollars to take this intro course. Seems shady to me. I was fortunate to have been able to pass without any issues. Good luck

Fantastic experience: This review is for anyone thinking about taking motorcycle safety and their endorsement. I took the class yesterday. Tana was my instructor and let me tell you she is the real deal. I rode in my teens and 20's then took a hiatus from riding. She taught me things I never knew and feel so much more comfortable on my motorcycle. We all think we're good riders until we meet somebody who actually knows what they're doing. If you are serious about riding a motorcycle properly and learning about navigating the roads safely. I would 100% recommend taking the course. It might just save your life. Stay safe out there. Fantastic experience: I took the beginners motorcycle class on June 21st-23rd 2024. This is hands down the best motorcycle class ever. Both instructors were amazing I think their names were Yeri and Bob. I would definitely recommend this class to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I took the intermediate Total Control course and it was very much worth it. Peter is a great instructor and all-around good guy! We had close to 100 degree temperatures, and he helped make the whole thing tolerable. The exercises were really helpful and his experience was very apparent! Thanks, man! Great course!

Fantastic experience: Jiri and Bob were excellent instructors. Both have such great patience and they explained everything well and thoroughly. I had never ridden on a motorcycle until this course and it helped get out of the fear in my head. We took plenty of breaks since this last weekend was over 100 and they had water for us too. I liked how the course was in a more private setting than others that I have seen in mall or school parking lots. I recommend this class to anyone who's a beginner.

Fantastic experience: Tana and Mark have been incredible instructors. They taught us the importance of staying safe and the real world driving. The balance of having zoom classes and then solely focusing on riding bikes when we're in the range is a good balance! They would show me exactly what I was doing wrong and would show me how to fix it with constructive and easy to understand feedback. I highly recommend this place even if you're an experienced rider, this class might teach you something new! Thank you for the great time and for everything I was taught!

After taking the intermediate course to learn more skills and get my motorcycle endorsement, I can say for sure I will be going back for advanced courses and be referring everyone I know who is thinking about getting their license to Iron Buffalo for their training. Fantastic experience: Just got done with my riding courses and I can happily say I am more than happy I took these classes not only did Bob and Peter give us tools to use out on the road, they also taught us how to use these tools in a very safe manner! Fantastic experience: I just got done taking my beginner course at Iron Buffalo with Bob and Tana. I've taken my fair share of clinics for numerous other things in my day but this is the stand-out. I had a great time, learned a lot and left the course with the right attitude about motorcycle riding. The instructors were professional without being stuffy. We were all there to do our respective parts, but the respect the instructors commanded while being welcoming and friendly and fun to be around was great to see. In our class of 9 - with the majority of the class having their very first experiences on motorcycles here, everyone passed, nobody crashed or dropped a bike. I could tell immediately that the teaching methods were meant to give the true beginners more than just a chance at making it through the course to completion with their completion certificate. The reinforcement of quality principles, the instruction before the exercise, the "on-the-go" instruction as we were riding and the debriefs after exercises all came together to really help everything stick. The classroom/online parts (particular to the beginner course) were full of information. No time was wasted and I found myself able to apply a lot of the classroom work to the practice on the riding range. The atmosphere that Bob and Tana curated incentivized all of the students to interact with each other, encourage each other and discuss amongst ourselves ideas about improving - as we all had different strengths and weaknesses. At the end when we all got the good news that we had passed and were having our few minutes alone with the instructors, they made you feel like you weren't just one class in a long line of classes - not just some number on a sheet. They talked excitedly with each of us individually about our score, how we can continue to thrive and they wanted to make sure we knew how to go and find our first motorcycle. Overall the experience was overwhelmingly worth the money and the about 2.5 days of time spent. I will be back to take other courses here. Thanks Bob and Tana!

Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Recently took the Iron Buffalo Motorcycle Safety Course and I was thoroughly impressed! The curriculum was comprehensive and well-structured, ensuring all participants were well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. A special shoutout to our instructor, Cory! His patience, expertise, and passion for teaching shone through in every lesson. His guidance not only made me feel more confident on the road but also made the entire learning experience enjoyable. Highly recommend Iron Buffalo and if you get the chance, ask for Cory!

Positive experience: This class pays for itself. You will easily earn back the money you spend on tuition with Iron Buffalo by using their techniques and lessons to avoid tickets and damage to your bike by riding unsafely. Good course. Good instructors. However a month after I completed and passed the class I went to the DMV on Peoria and IB had never entered my course completion information into the State’s system. IB kept saying the State’s system has been down “for a couple of weeks.” I had to keep reminding IB that my course was completed long before the system issues they described. After three mind numbing, spirit crushing trips to the DMV, there was phone call after phone call and all the hassle you could ever hope for. Still nothing. I have to go back to the DMV tomorrow too. Oh, joy.

Fantastic experience: I sent my wife to this place and she had an amazing experience and the instructor was Peter Wolf. He was such a kind man and treated my wife with great respect and I really had appreciated that. She is riding with great confidence.She is a retiree so this is her first foray into motorcycling as she is driving a 49cc scooter. She was able to bring her own scooter as the used scooter that they had was not in good shape and died often. My suggestion is that they get that one dialed in and running right or even consider getting a fuel injected scooter as they don't need to be "warmed up" before riding On the other hand, my daughter had a not great experience with one of the instructors at this company a few years back. I was hesitant and even somewhat reluctant to send somebody back. When I called and explained that information to them the person said that they had a couple of bad instructors and once they found out about it fired them post haste. They offered a discount to my daughter if she wanted to come back. I had made multiple calls to other locations and nobody answered the phone nor did they call me so I decided to move forward with these guys with my hands in prayer. The results were great. The instructor was very attentive. The class went a little long and I was okay with that because I am a firm believer of more instruction is better results on the road of which my bride has. The instructor really enjoyed these students and spent time with. I was around when he handed out the certificates and I could just hear the love he had for the in his voice. I am a standard size motorcycle rider and I also ride 49cc. Riding small bike is just "stupid fun". It brings back the mini bike kid in me and get rid of all the pretense and some snobbery many motorcycle riders have. When I ride my full-size I get the waves from fellow riders. When I ride my small bike I don't even get consideration and guess what? I don't even care because they don't know what I know... Getting "air in your hair" or "breeze on your knees" is fun no matter what... I think what I like best about riding small bike is waving at the neighbors and seeing the kids wave because it's more about their size and that type bike is more neighborly and friendly and I'll take that over snobbery any day of the week. At any rate I was so very proud of my beide and her riding is soooo much better then before she went. Her confidence is through the roof. Fantastic experience: I’d say this weekend-course in itself is not enough experience to sufficiently prepare a brand new rider for safely commuting on the road. More practice will be necessary. However it is a great value and is very well designed, to give a solid foundation to build on for absolute beginners and provide a ton of valuable insight even to experienced riders. You’ll become very aware of what you need to practice. Tana and Mark made for an ideal learning environment for all skill levels. It was low-stress and fun, though they offered every critique/suggestion relevant to what they could observe as imperfect. And they were very observant/engaged with all of us individually, as well as very experienced/knowledgeable. Their critiques will definitely be replaying in my head as I continue to practice. The material itself is top notch as well.

Fantastic experience: I just completed my beginner riding clinic with Iron Buffalo and I cannot stress how great the program is. The instructors I was with (Bob&Jiri) were extremely professional and helpful the entire weekend. I had not rode a motorcycle in over 16 years and with their teaching I was able to get back on a bike, ride safely, and comfortably. They took time to explain things that I didn't understand and made sure I was ready to pass my evaluation. With their teaching I feel confident in my choice to buy and ride a motorcycle. If you're a new rider or looking to get back on a bike this is the place to go. I am already looking at returning to them in a few months for the intermediate class. Fantastic experience: Amazing instructors and overall a wonderful experience. Starting the class I had zero confidence and knew next to nothing about operating a motorcycle. At the end of the class I felt like I had been riding for months. One of the best investments I've ever made. Highly reccomend.

Fantastic experience: I cannot stress this enough- BOOK A CLNIC SESSION IMMEDIATELY. Don’t mind the price. It is seriously well worth it!! There’s a reason why they have 5 stars. This is hand down the best training course and clinic. I just got my endorsement from them last weekend. I couldn’t be happier. I was slightly hesitant as anybody would be. I had some experience but after working with Bob it felt like second nature. I am confident with being a rider and this lifestyle has improved my life so much already. I met some clear life long friends during the clinic & had an absolute blast. You learn so much that prepares you for the basics. There wasn’t ever a negative work expressed it was all positive redirection and positive attitudes all thru out. The flexibility and determination these instructors have to ensure people of all ages and abilities are taught in ways they learn best and ensure we train confident and secure in being riders is awesome. Genuinely loved it. I honestly miss it. I’m thrilled to have taken this course instead of MSF. I feel so prepared and motivated. Fantastic experience: I took the trike training class. The classroom part was a 3 hour zoom class. This was great, because it made our on the bike training day shorter and more fun. The class was small which was great to have better attention from the instructor. Lot's of good information and training. I highly recommend taking this class if you are going to ride a trike of any brand.

Fantastic experience: I had never operated a motorcycle before and this beginner class was excellent. Bob and Jiri did a phenomenal job with teaching and repeating the basics to keep everyone safe and feeling confident as we advanced through the weekend. The exercises progressed in a very manageable way that allowed the whole group to build the muscle memory needed to react in the desired way. Both instructors were calm, encouraging, inclusive and hilarious. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone, especially any women who are skeptical about entering this community like I was at first!

Fantastic experience: This training course is by far the absolute best in the State. This is one training that u never want to look for the cheapest. At Iron Buffalo, they are very reasonable concerning the cost, as well as they have the absolute best of the best, knowledgeable instructors, whom with many many years of personal as well as academical experience on, off and about the motorcycle, combined with the best skill of it’s operations, makes this the ultimate training facility. I am definitely a safer and more confident rider, with definitely more awareness and responsibilities, with a healthy dose of respect for the bike, all because of this course. I believe this course is so successful for so many of their students, is simply because of the actual curriculum they chose to use. Which is by far superior to any and all other curriculum offered. I took this course in June of 2019, and had not rode in nearly 30 years, and even then it was very little on a dirt bike. So from no experience to riding safely consciously and aware, makes my riding far more enjoyable and not stressful. I am now riding a 2017 Harley Davidson Heritage Soft-tail. I absolutely love my wind therapy. I usually park my car in the late spring and ride until snow hits the ground, day in and out. As well on those awesome days in the late fall through winter and early spring, on a warmer (55-65 and above temp) day I will enjoy a couple hours out. I highly recommend this training facility and it’s staff for being the best bar none.. they truly care about each and every individual who walks through those doors. I hope u enjoy riding as much as I do..

Fantastic experience: I just finished doing the BRC with Cooper, Jiri and Chadwick. All of the instructors were awesome. I chose Total Control because I'd heard that they better prepare you than MSF, and I don't regret my choice one bit. The classroom sessions were done over zoom (so convenient). And the instructors even moved the practical sessions further into the morning since it was going to be quite warm. If you are reading these reviews, that means you are considering signing up for a class with these guys. Don't wait. Do it. Do it now!

Fantastic experience: I just moved back to Colorado from Pennsylvania and Colorado would not let me transfer my motorcycle license.I found Iron Buffalo on line and enrolled. I’ve been riding for many years but learned some great stuff from both Tana and Cooper, the two fantastic Instructors. Connected with riders of all levels and all of us left the course better riders than before. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: They made me feel comfortable for a first time rider. Great instructors that coach and lots of riding time. I enjoyed the fact that the classroom portion was via zoom. I learned a lot and highly recommend the course for anyone. They have bikes that you can use and limited gear if needed. What a great class that gives you an endorsement to take to the DMV to bypass the skills/written test at the DMV for your motorcycle license.

Fantastic experience: Prior to taking the beginner/endorsement course, I had a few years of experience riding 50-70cc scooters, but had ridden nothing with a manual transmission. One weekend with these guys and I was good to go. MORE than good to go. By chance, the week after the course, Harley Davidson in Golden was having a demo weekend, and I rode several H-D bikes, in the mountains, with a few groups of much more experienced riders. I felt extremely comfortable, and on at least half of those rides, felt middle-of-the-pack in terms of skill level. Could not be more thrilled. I'll be back for advanced courses!

Fantastic experience: I took the intermediate class hoping to better handle the new 800 plus pound motorcycle I recently purchased. Instructors ( Peter & Tana ) we’re great ,not a job they really love teaching.The class is a little book and video but mostly hands on riding. The instructors will give you information about what you are not doing correctly as well as kudos as you improve. I have many years of riding experience and left the class feeling a lot more confident in handling a heavy cruiser motorcycle. I would highly recommend this intermediate class to anyone regardless of your riding experience.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this class to anyone at any level. The instructors were awesome,(shout out to Chadwick and Michael!). We got a lot of amazing feedback and encouragement. From learning the mere controls of the bike to swerving & cornering properly within 2 days, our class was able to get a lot of hands- on learning! I don't even have a bike yet and I'm already thinking about taking the intermediate class after I get the recommended mileage under my belt.

Fantastic experience: My daughter (18) and I (43) took the class together, and it was fun and informative for both of us. We both went in with zero skills / experience and came out with a motorcycle endorsement, and a solid understanding of how to be safe and responsible on the road. I can't say enough good things about our instructors, Tana & Jiri. They were the perfect blend of funny & serious, encouraging but firm. They took the time to ensure that every student had their own individual needs met, and really stuck with us when we struggled and helped us to overcome those struggles and feel safe & confident. There were several moments when I thought I "couldn't" do it... But Tana & Jiri have the patience of saints, and by the end of the 3 days, I could do every exercise. They fostered an environment of mutual support and encouragement amongst the whole class, and by the final skills test, every class member was cheering and supporting their peers. Thank you Iron Buffalo, I will definitely be back for the intermediate class.

Fantastic experience: Great motorcycle training school! Chadwick and Bob are great instructors and the leaning was made fun. My only complaint is that it was cold AF the last week of November which made it a bit hard to concentrate at times. That's not their fault though so they still get 5 stars. The instructors had to deal with the cold too so we were all in it together.

Fantastic experience: BEST MOTORCYCLE TRAINING IN TOWN! Their training is very comprehensive and the instructors have a legitimate interest in seeing you succeed. Instructor Chadwick is the REAL DEAL! This guy has the privilege of saying he works doing what he loves and this truly shows in his teaching and his demeanor. Bob is also an excellent coach who is very skilled at providing precise and objective feedback. I would 100% recommend this company over any other. Fantastic experience: Pete and Bob are wonderful teachers and human beings. I’ve been riding for decades, and signed up for the basic course with a goal of (finally) getting a legal endorsement, but thanks to the observations and teachings of Pete and Bob I quickly realized that I’d developed a lot of bad habits over the years. My teachers quickly homed in on my shortcomings and gave me the reset that just might save my life someday. I can’t recommend this course or these two teachers enough. They are a perfect team. Fantastic experience: Doug and Peter made a great team. They were both very obviously experienced and cared deeply about our safety throughout the class. I learned a TON and had a really fun time. So happy they were able to provide helmets.The bikes available to learn on were totally sufficient to get a good idea of what a standard/cruiser bike felt like. The last exercise was my favorite, I wish there could be more real world examples of riding in traffic.The value is totally worth it. I feel extremely confident to start looking at a bike for myself. This was a great place to start. Would take this class again / recommend to anyone.Having some knowledge of how a manual car works ex: transmission/throttle/engine/gears I think helps and translates to riding directly. Fantastic experience: Although I have nothing to compare my experience to I can say without a doubt that this is hands down the best motorcycle school in Denver! I was faced with some challenges along the way, but Gary and Peter didn't give up! They continued to cheer our class on and provide a solid foundation for us to stand on as we took our test to get our license. I am beyond grateful for my experience here and plan to go back to further my training!

Fantastic experience: Iron Buffalo brought in the Total Control curriculum for its Basic Rider Safety course, and I couldn't have been more pleased. The class was everything I wanted and more! Brilliantly structured, non-threatening to a complete novice, but with realism and expertise on full display at every turn (literally...lots and lots of turning!). I feel humbled and sobered, yet well prepared to start my motorcycling journey. Cannot possibly recommend highly enough!

The instructors were all helpful and knowledgeable. They had much patience to teach and Reteach. The class and course was fun best thing I’ve done all 2020!!!

Fantastic experience: Great time at Iron Buffalo, we got over 25 miles of practice in two days and a good class size for learning. Chadwick and Doug were a great “Odd Couple” pairing and provided concise feedback. My girlfriend and I decided after the class were more comfortable continuing our learning on dirt bikes before moving to the road, partially due to the instructors focus that the basic class is just an intro class and not “THE” motorcycle training course. Valuable information.

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Peter (one of the instructors) was able to even customize a motorcycle for me so that I could go to my lessons since I'm quite short and no bike was small enough for me originally. He followed up and made sure I was able to attend the lessons. I am seriously grateful for his guidance, patience, and willingness to accommodate my specific circumstances. Fantastic experience: Bob and Forest were the instructors for my class in September and they did such an amazing job! Nice fellas but very serious about the business of teaching the fundamentals of riding. I've taken an endorsement class before, in another state and have riding experience. I will say that the content of this course was very detailed with an emphasis on safety and defensive riding and the instructors really drove the necessary messages home. Would recommend it to anyone who asks!

Fantastic experience: I took the beginner's course here and lover every bit of it! I was very nervous going in but Bob and Chadwick(I hope I am spelling that right) did a great job going through everything we needed to know to start riding. They did a wonderful job teaching while having fun! I will be heading back in the spring to take the intermediate course to learn even more! I would recommend Iron Buffalo to anyone wanting to either get a refresher course or anyone hoping to start riding for the first time!

Fantastic experience: I had some experience riding in the past but i wanted to do a license and training course to get my endorsement. The instructors Bob and Chadwick were amazing i saw other students in class who had never been on a motorcycle become competent riders. Total Control learning material was very informative and was easy to under stand. Thanks again Im pretty sure Ill be taking intermidiate and advanced courses in the future.

Fantastic experience: I completed the 3 wheel course this past weekend and had the best experience EVER. Wif and Shirley made the class fun so you absorbed information. They didn’t talk AT you, they involved everyone and made you want to participate without forcing you to. Their enthusiasm is infectious and you can tell they love what they do. My classmates were all fantastic and supportive with each other. We cheered each other, we offered suggestions to each other. There were high-fives all the way around. It was the best two days of learning!!! I highly recommend this class if you don’t have a 3 wheeler and thinking about getting one. If you have a 3 wheeler and don’t have your endorsement yet, this class is very informative and TOTALLY worth every minute.
