At I.S.A.E. (Institute for Specialized Alternative Education), we have been at the forefront of court-ordered educational programs since 1988. Negative experience: My experience with Discovering Better Choices was the best class i have ever been in. It was so good i even told the judge that this program should be implemented in the jr. High & High school classes. I feel that our kids need all the help that they can get in knowing how to make better choice. Thank you Marnita, you are the best

Negative experience: This was a bad idea in the end. I called ISAE and spoke to a rep. The rep assured me that NC accepts the assessments and there would be no issues. I went online and realized that my County was not listed, so I called back and the rep created a link and sent it to me, I completed the Assessment and when I called them back I was informed that they do not submit your info to DMV that is required by State Law. I obtained a letter from DMV on a letterhead as requested by ISAE that NC does not accept this type of online classes to get a refund. After jumping through all the hoops requested by ISAE I was informed that they will not refund my money. I was told incorrect information from the beginning from this company and now they are stating Oh well. The Professional Level of this company is very POOR and not to mention MISLEADING and I am not stopping until I get MY hard earned money refunded back to me to find another company that is represented by NC, Highly disappointed with his Organization and the lost of my money. BBB will be adding ISAE to there list tomorrow.

Mr. McDuffie you are misleading and making false statements. When you called and asked to verify approval, you were not specific on the type of class you were required to take. We offer 3 different options on classes that a person can take with these types of offenses. Course Descriptions on our website list “Who should take this online class”… You registered and paid for the class online independently from consulting our Customer service rep. The letter you received from North Carolina DMV specifically stated the type of class you needed to take and that no online programs are permitted.

A link was provided on that letter on which classes you could take, which was forwarded to us after you attended our online program. The reason it was not accepted… it was the wrong program and not because we aren’t approved in North Carolina. We did provided the service you paid for and sent you the certificate of completion . ISAE cannot be held accountable for the mistakes made on your part. Perhaps you should have done your homework and followed the directions from North Carolina, then we would not have this problem and you would have not wasted your hard-earned money. “The bad idea” was trying to circumvent North Carolina‘s rules and requirements by taking a cheaper and easier program. Contacting the Better Business Bureau you will find we have a “A” rating and have mostly a 5 star rating with Google Business.

Negative experience: the worst click through powerpoint of my life , they dont respect veterans . Theyre only concerned about how their company looks to the courts, if you have the option to take a class anywhere else I would .

ISAE provides a Defensive Driving class online that is easy to use and has simple and clear instructions on how to complete the course. I order to receive the certificate of completion you must interact by listening to lessons, watch videos and write responses, to learned lessons. The information is reviewed by a staff member to ensure that the client went through the entire class and took it seriously. The courts rely on ISAE to hold the student accountable. If the student does not comply to these very simple excercises they will not be issued a certificate of completion.
We respect all people including veterans. We will not tolerate students that harass or disrespect our staff or refuse to comply with the court.

Positive experience: I had a very positive experience taking the making better choices class. The instructor, Katie was very kind & respectful, she listened and gave everyone a chance to talk & be heard. The only downfall to this class is the majority of the class were juveniles.
