Negative experience: Terrible experience with Rose because I actually caught the flu from her. I’ve been sick and have had a fever for days. My first lesson was okay, although I didn’t appreciate her browsing or texting on her phone while I was practicing, but I didn’t say anything at the time. For the second lesson, she didn’t inform me in advance that she was sick, and she wasn’t even wearing a mask! We could’ve easily rescheduled. She was coughing, feeling cold, shivering, and weak for the entire 90 minutes, and still didn’t wear a mask. I felt bad for her, so when she asked me to collect the cones and take them back to the car—despite it not being my responsibility—I didn’t refuse. Unfortunately, I ended up getting very sick from the lesson. I started coughing, sneezing, feeling cold and shivery, and have had a fever for days, and I’m still not recovering. This is incredibly unprofessional. Please be responsible toward your customers by notifying them and rescheduling in advance to avoid spreading illness to others. I demand a full refund cuz I'm not paying to catch the flu.

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school! Would HIGHLY recommend Larue’s Blackstone Valley Driving School to anyone who is looking for a safe, reliable, and dependable driving school for their child. Rose is also very pleasant, patient, punctual, and provides honest feedback. Both of my boys did their lessons with Rose. You’re in good hands!!

Negative experience: I was a first time adult driver with no experience and a lot of anxiety getting behind the wheel. Rose wasn't patient or understanding . She kept telling me I had no common sense, she'd yell at me if I made a mistake or took a wrong turn during practice and at one point she called me a Narcist. Rose was unprofessional and condescending. I had 3 lessons with her and always dreaded going. In the first lesson we practiced pulling into a parking spot and backing up to the left and right. We also practiced turns. In the second lesson we practiced Parallel parking and in the third both together. At the end of the third lesson she mentioned backing up in a straight line and a three point turn were also on the test but that it was easy to do. She never bothered to show me. Rose would eat, answer calls and for some reason consistently burped in the car while I had my lessons. I stopped doing anymore lessons with Rose and finished with Kathy's Driving School. Kathy was kind, patient and taught me everything within three lessons. I have my license now thanks to her. Granted everyone has a different experience, I definitely didn't have an enjoyable one and wouldn't want anyone else's time/money to be wasted.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! Rose was amazing with my daughter and helped build her confidence driving! She passed her driving test with a perfect score! Thank You Again Rose we will see you in two years when it is time for our son!

Fantastic experience: Just finished my last lesson with Ms. Rose! I learned how to park, take good turns, learn signs, and even drive to my work in one piece! Definitely worth it!

Negative experience: I called to try and set up driving lessons for my daughter, but the phone number must be registered to young girl because they didn’t not answer as a business and when I asked her if it was a business she hung up. Maybe they needed a new phone number on here.

Fantastic experience: Rose is a very effective and patient instructor. I am a nervous driver, and Rose tailored our lessons to my comfort level, while also making sure we covered everything I needed to pass the test on the first try. If you have had bad driving/driving instructor experiences in the past, and no matter your level of driving confidence, Rose is the best!

Fantastic experience: Rose is literally a super hero! Her house got hit by a tornado in the morning but she still made sure to be there for us for my daughter's test in the afternoon! She completely changed my daughter's view on driving and has turned her into a happy, confident young licensed driver.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Rose with LaRues! My son has already had 3 lessons with her and will complete his final lesson the day before his road test. She is friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, and thorough. My son didn’t want to take driving lessons, but he ended up admitting that her lessons were helpful! He’s had a great experience so far! Thank you Rose, we are looking forward to the final refresher before his test. ☺️

Negative experience: if i could give zero stars I would, ROSE is unprofessional and should not be teaching anyone to drive, my Fiancée has never driven before, and made it known to rose that she has no idea about why and how you would do something with a vehicle, there was no basic instructions, NOTHING, and you are supposed to teach her to pass the road test? how? by not doing what you are paid to do? this lady went on to not pay attention or even instruct, but hey browsing your phone and eating with a first time driver is profesional right, yanking the steering wheel, and making them feel small is what's important right, the fact that you do not listen to what anyone has to say especial when its your client, you know the people paying you... when My fiancée got home she was in tears, absolute tears, Rose did more harm than any good and caused her trauma, both driving experience's where unprofessional, Rose should not be teaching anyone to drive, when she herself as a professional is not professional, you don't teach or explain any of the basics, you have a superiority complex, Rose claims to be patient, and understanding I assure you she is not, I will be filing a grievance with the BBB, as well as what ever takes necessary to close her business down, what in your mind convinced you its ok to treat people like that, let alone play on your phone, and eat when you have a first time driver. I truly hope this review costs you your business, you should not in any way shape or form teach anyone how to drive go to KATHY DRIVING school you have a much better experience. we Demand a refund, all you did was take her money, and not teach her anything only cause her trauma

Fantastic experience: Rose was amazing!!!! She teared up and hugged my son and I when he passed his exam. It was like she was a member of our family. Strongly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and so I had a LOT of nerves and fears about driving. But this instructor is SO patient and kind and always talks you through the steps no matter how many times you need them repeated. She doesn’t ever judge you for making the same mistakes, instead she guides you to do better the next time!!! She helped me so much with learning the skills and I’m so grateful to her. I just passed my driving test and I’m so glad I had her as my instructor!!! 100% recommend!!!

Negative experience: Took me along time to decide on actually leaving a review, but Rose is extremely impatient and irritable throughout the lessons. Constantly picked at the little mistakes I made throughout my time. My anxiety was through the roof each lesson because she gets so mad if you don't do something how she wants it. My last two lessons were extremely rushed. She also kept trying to say that me having long nails was the reason I couldn’t drive correctly which makes absolutely no sense. The day of my test she was saying I was “ready” but right after I failed it was that I “wasnt ready”. I do not recommend this driving school. Save your time and your MONEY

Fantastic experience: I absolutely enjoy my learning experience with Rose! She is so sweet and very knowledgeable with her teaching. When driving, I love that she allows me to identify, correct, and learn from any mistake I may make without making feel bad about it. As someone who’s taken a long time to even get to driving classes due to my anxiety from several car accidents as a child and teen; In just a couple sessions I already feel a lot more confident about being on the road. I appreciate Rose’s dedication to putting smart drivers on the road and highly recommend anyone who is looking for well taught driving courses to book with Larue’s Driving School!

She broke the lessons down into clear and concise steps , she was very patient with me as i struggled to memorize a few things and didn't mind giving me the time to get things right before moving on to the next step , never did i feel unsafe or under pressure while driving with her and she did an overall fantastic job preparing me for the road test, which i passed on the first try! Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Rose as an instructor! I took a few lessons with her to hone my driving skills and regain confidence behind the wheel before taking my driving test. I always felt safe during our lessons and especially appreciated that Rose took the time to explain the reasoning behind each skill we practiced. I also really enjoyed our conversations, and she was flexible and accommodating of my schedule, working with me to get multiple lessons in within a short period of time before my test. Most importantly, Rose won't just teach you how to pass a behind-the-wheel test--she'll help you to develop lifelong skills as a defensive driver.

Fantastic experience: My son did very well with Rose. the bad reviewers must have failed their driving tests and are upset about it. she was very understanding of my sons needs and taught him exactly what he needed to know for his test. she is very patient and cares about the people she teaches in fact I miss seeing her, shes a wonderful person and made us feel so comfortable. I felt like I knew her forever!! thank you Rose for your professionalism and patience and genuine concern. best of luck to your business in the future. Negative experience: Awful. I wouldn’t recommend this driving school to anybody. Instructor was very nice but I did not learn anything, she just sent me YouTube videos to watch and was on her phone a lot during the lesson. The second lesson was parking and backing up which I told her I needed extra help with but she made me drive around for almost an hour before we went to practice parking and backing up and then we ran out of time and she wanted me to pay for more lessons. I am so sorry I ever signed up for lessons from her

Fantastic experience: Rose from Larue's was very professional, I can't recommend her enough! She worked with two of our teens to instill confidence and help them prepare for their driving exams. Rose is also very acccomodating of a family's busy schedule to try to fit in this driving time with busy work and after school schedules. Top notch, thank you Rose- 5 Stars!!

Fantastic experience: Hi. I had a big problem in that I hadn't had a driver's license in over 10 years and had to re-take my road test. Based on the great reviews here I called Rose and Boy was I Glad I Did! The one thing I was deficient was in backing. That would be on the test and Rose patiently let me back up over and over, giving me tips and instruction on how to do it successfully. I finally did it and passed the exam the next day. She had told me she wouldn't be able to give me a ride home from the test but she found time and DID give me a ride home. All in all for this "new" 60-year old driver I was so thankful and impressed! Thank you Rose! I've now gone on a few road trips by myself and am so happy!!! Thanks!!!! Fantastic experience: Rose is wonderful!! As an international student who had not driven in about a year and is not accustomed to driving on the right side, I was really nervous about being in a car again - but Rose remedied that entirely. I had 3 2-hour sessions before my road test (which I passed!) and she really ensures that you learn how to drive confidently and safely. Rose is really passionate, makes you feel comfortable, and provides door-to-door service and the option to use her car for the test - I HIGHLY recommend her!

Fantastic experience: Rose was a super friendly and super thorough instructor! I was comfortable driving with her within the first 20 minutes of our first lesson. She teaches you the skills/laws of the road covered on the road test and makes sure you're confident in each one before moving onto the next. My lessons were 2 hours each and I had 6 thorough hours of practice in total before doing my road test and acing it! She also offers a service to use her car for lessons and the exam if you don't have one yourself. Thanks Rose! :)

Fantastic experience: Rose was great! She worked with us to schedule around my daughter’s busy life. She taught her the rules of the road that my husband and I may have forgotten over the years. The price was great and Rose communicates well to keep us informed. Best of all our daughter passed the road test today and if that isn’t enough we also get a discount on insurance since she had 6 hours of instruction through LaRue’s!

Fantastic experience: Lessons with Rose are so worth it! She is an incredible teacher and makes you feel comfortable right away. I came to her a completely inexperienced, nervous driver and by the end of my time with her I could drive anywhere confidently. She takes you step by step through learning the laws and helps you master basic driving skills. She also makes sure you're very comfortable and confident in yourself before your exam. I would recommend her to anyone who feels uneasy about driving, she'll be there for you the whole way!

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Larues Driving School more highly. Rose is not only extremely familiar and experienced with RI driving regulations and road tests, but she has the people-sense most instructors lack. Rose consistently was patient with me and made me feel comfortable within the first 20 minutes of knowing her, which was very important to me as a new driver. I could tell that she deeply cares about what she does and her student's success. I now feel significantly more comfortable with driving because of her.

Fantastic experience: Rose at Larue's Driving School is a true professional. She knows the laws of the road and the expectations of a road test like the back of her hand. Highly recommend getting 6 hours of training with Rose before you take a road test, even if you have driving experience. You will learn a lot, guarantee a successful test (Rose's students have a 95% passing rate on the first test) and love getting to know Rose!

Negative experience: I don't usually leave comments but feel strongly that people should not be taking lessons from this driving school. It's understandable that driving instructors have a tough job. They sit in a passenger seat all day teaching people how to turn, park, back-up etc. It takes a lot of patience. It's not easy. But the instructor, Rose, is incredibly impatient and should not be teaching. She seems agitated all the time, even before a lesson begins. Then she screams out what she wants you to do. Sometimes she starts yelling at you to do things without explaining why you're doing them. I'm no softy and can take someone screaming, but I think an instructor shouldn't be doing that. If anyone is looking for driving lessons, I'd say you should look elsewhere for professional instructors.
