The Racing Experience: Reviews

Negative experience: I would give a 0 if it was an option. Had a ride a long scheduled at World Wide Technology raceway yesterday 8/24/2024. This was Christmas gifts for the family. I confirmed the event was on and we were scheduled on Tuesday 8/20/2024 and was advised that everything was set and we were good. Family all piled into the vehicles and drove about an hour away only to get there and be told by a little old lady at the guard shack that it has been cancelled. I called the number for the Rusty Wallace racing experience to hear an automated message stating the company is suspending services effective immediately due to the economy. They are telling us to take up the refund with the 3rd party vendor or your credit card company. That is hog wash. They have had my hard earned money for 8 month. You know $500 is a lot with the economy the way it is. Everyone knows the majority of the NASCAR fans are hard working blue collar people. Moral of this story/review, The Wallace name is a staple in the NASCAR world as well here in Jefferson county Missouri. This could have been handled much better. Bad enough to let down your NASCAR fans but here in your home town.. what a smack in the face. They sent no email advising of this information prior to people driving which cost more money or even send an automated message with the information. What a disappointment and shame on you. I get it business is business but NASCAR is already having issues with positive fan experience and you were a representation of NASCAR.
Negative experience: The event was not cancelled because it was never contracted with the racing facility. Was told that his company books events with no intention of having them. Got an email 48 hours prior saying they are out of business
Fantastic experience: Great day. 2 rain cancellations but finally pulled it off. Safe, memorable & good times. Well organized.
Positive experience: Bought for my son ( 22 ) 20 laps ran at Sandusky Speedway. I would highly recommend doing a ride along first if you have never driven a race car. Could see a big difference when people did. Son loved it.
Positive experience: Overall it was a fun and enjoyable experience, but not one that I plan to do again. The main reason is that after training, the communication needs improved. I got the ride along before I started driving, which was fun but the driver didn't really explain what he was doing along the way. Definitely not worth the $60 on a 3/8 mile circle track... maybe on a longer road style course. When they were strapping us into the car, they didn't really explain anything (and you can't look around because your head is strapped in). I had to ask to verify I knew how to get out of the car if I needed to on my own. When driving, the only instruction I was given was for passing or exiting the track. I was really anticipating that they were going to give us tips on things to do better to get faster / better laps. Even when a car was stalled exiting the track with a truck pushing them, I didn't get clear communication as to what I should be doing since it wasn't safe to exit the turn at speed any longer. You can't ask questions, because the radios are only one-way and everyone is on the same channel.
