Negative experience: I don't normally write 1 star reviews but this business is dishonest. I paid $350 to have my daughter learn to drive. The problem is they don't have enough drivers so we were never able to actually book a driving lesson then eventually they removed my access to their site and kept my money. So like I said....dishonest. If they were a reputable business they would have refunded me before removing access.
Hello Traveling Berry, without knowing your students name it is hard for me to know the situation. The following is A-1 Driving School's refund policy as stated in the student contract: "Students are eligible for a full refund if no services were rendered and if the request is made within fifteen days of registration. After the fifteen-day grace period a $50 service charge will be assessed in addition to any behind-the-wheel, online instruction or classroom costs that incurred before withdrawal. A-1 will only issue refunds up to one year from the registration date."
Like any academic course there is a timeline for withdrawal. A-1 offers refunds for a full year, which is longer than most academic programs. August is always a very busy month to complete driver education, because it's the end of summer and student are going back to school. A-1 can add you to a call/waitlist to help you with scheduling. Any student that has logged in on schedule day twice and was not successful can be added to the waitlist. The office will call you when a drive comes available in your area. Currently students are completing the program in 3-6 weeks. A-1 has open drives available for the week of August 19th. Depending on your availability, A-1 would like to help your student complete the course.
Fantastic experience: I would totally recommend A1 Driving School to anyone who wants a solid Drivers Ed experience! My instructor was Robyn and she was so kind and knowledgeable! She was fun to talk to and she taught me everything I needed to know for my Road Test. I took my Road Test the afternoon of my last Drivers Ed and I passed! Thank you Robyn and A1 Team!

Fantastic experience: I started using a1 back in September. I had a fear of driving when I first started. I highly recommend Lony as your instructor. He helped me get over my fear and I developed good driving skills. Now 5 months later I practiced and practiced and now I passed my test and licensed. Thank you Lony and the team at A1! You helped me get over a big fear of driving. I passed and got over my fear because of this place. Thank you so much.
Negative experience: Unreliable, rude and unprofessional! I would suggest going with another company, one that actually follows through with the programs they offer once you've paid for them upfront. The only reason I would give them one star is at least they refunded my money.
Negative experience: I hope I don’t have to send any of my other kids through this driving school, the whole process is a nightmare. From scheduling the drives to actually talking to a person to schedule test that can only be taken in person. Does anyone actually work at all the locations? This business needs to figure it out. I will not be recommending this place to anybody!
Negative experience: These people are honestly not that helpful. We call so much to get me on drives, I login on the day they say to schedule drives but it’s only observations that are available. Half of the time staff doesn’t answer.
Fantastic experience: I had the most wonderful experience at a-1! Mr Jim moon was an awesome, friendly, and helpful instructor throughout the entire experience. The whole staff was personable and informative! I would highly recommend a-1 to get your drivers license
Fantastic experience: Got all my drivers Ed and drives done in just 2 weeks. It’s a pretty quick process. The drive schedules post every Wednesday so you have to be fast to get drives but it’s basically hassle free. Also highly recommend Lony as your driving instructor. That’s my man!! He’s younger and never raised his voice at me and he was very good at teaching me how to improve on mistakes and become a better defensive driver. I passed my road test today thanks to him. Thanks Lony and A1!

Negative experience: There are no available spots for driving. Going on three weeks. They have been paid and we have not gotten our services. Do not recommend.
Negative experience: I am having the same problem Chris Erickson had, I signed my son up for this school told by their office on the phone "so many classes open all the time". I send in his permit today. NO classes available, at all. Then they only do it one week out at a time, so it is first come first serve, like chum over the boat. This is bait & switch. I have demanded my money back 100%. I have filed a c/c "fraud" claim which it is. If the full amount is not given back I will take them to small claims court too! This is wrong!!
Negative experience: Never have any availability- they’ve sold and collected money from way more people than they have capacity to put through the program.
Negative experience: Prevented me from getting license on time for not submitting paperwork to DMV on time

Positive experience: Very good school. Definitely do online though much easier and better than sitting to mind numbing clases for hours at specific times. Also some of the instructors are old and make you super stressed. My first observation the instructor started yelling and the kid driving broke down and cried for like 10 min. Very uncomfy but I mean I got my license so whatever.

Negative experience: We did drivers ed for my daughter thinking this would be an easy way to do it; the website neglects to advise that the required drives are on a first come first serve basis that you have to log in at specific times to snatch them quickly- also have to schedule a separate appt with the drivers license division to complete the road test since A 1 doesn’t do it. Overall very disappointed in the experience here.
Hi Mikell, we are sorry that you did not have a better experience with A-1 Driving School. A-1 is continually trying to improve the way we accommodate the driving portion of the course. Our current program allows equal opportunity to all enrolled students which during the high volume time of the year (June - October) does create some back up. We will continue to work on that including hiring additional instructors and vehicles. I would like to offer one clarification. A-1 Driving does offer road testing. We would love to offer the road test to everyone. Unfortunately, State administrative rule will not allow us to test our own students. Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at this school. I took driving school with a friend and we liked our instructor. He tolerated us even though we were sometimes disruptive. In the end we past our driving test and can drive.

Negative experience: This honestly is the worst customer service I have EVER come in contact with as a business owner. Very inconsistent. No team work at all! They do not instruct or lead well! They are unavailble and don't show up when they should. They are instructors which means they need to be AVAILABLE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. SAYING I DON'T KNOW TO A STUDENT IS UNACCEPTABLE. This has happened more than a handful of times. How do you not know anything? There were sevral instructors at different locations that were asked. They don't know their own policies. They don't work with you. Their hours are ridiculous! THEY ARE NOT MEETING PEOPLES NEEDS APPROPRIATELY. WHOEVER IS RUNNING THE SHOW HERE NEEDS TO HIRE AND TRAIN BETTER OR JUST GO OUT OF BUSINESS IF THEY ARE THIS INCOMPETENT! MY DAUGHTER PAID FOR THIS CLASS ON HER OWN. 16 YRS OLD. SHE GOES TO SCHOOL AND WORKS AND IS COMPLETELY FRUSTRATED WITH LACK OF SUPPORT TO SUCCEED! When my daughter took one of her test people were talking loud in the office as she was focused to test. She spoke up and asked to shut door. She shut it. They continued to talk loud and then said she couldnt shut the door. So f****n disrespectful! Had she been able to concentrate she wouldve been more succesful! Wasting her time as her deadline approaches! She has worked too hard to meet all her responsibilities through the program and this is what happens? Wasn' t able to try one last time receptionist didnt know how to turn test on again for her! Wow really? I have complained and reached out to UVU for her credits and they said, "They have had LOTS OF COMPLAINTS!" When you have time limits and deadlines and fees for extensions they should definetely STEP UP for the price! Im so unimpressed! I am wanting to ask for a refund. Never should you ever as a business make it so difficult for people to succeed. People are relying to complete so they can be more independent and drive! These people are aslo going to be on the roads driving! Success is pertinent! Do NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE! I never write bad reviews but this one has deserved it! Negative 4 stars! Why are these people STILL in business?
