Fantastic experience: I never drove before and in less than one month of practice with Beckham, today I got my license in first try! The best thing about him is he is honest with the feedbacks (doesn't sugarcoat), so you know where you should focus more. Fantastic experience: I took 6-7 lessons with Beckham, wanting to get a license soon. He is extremely patient and understanding, and has a flexible schedule even though he caters to many students around the San Diego area. Fantastic experience: I decided to take driving lessons from Beckham after reading the reviews here, and it was spot-on. I had no prior driving experience. He made me drive around different places in San Diego to make sure I can remember all the rules. Since I was short on time, I took the lessons every day, and voila, I passed the DMV test in first attempt. I am specially happy that I made less than 5 errors, which, according to Beckham, is usually how his students perform in the test. This is how much he focusses while instructing. Fantastic experience: How do you pass your driving test on the first try, at the Clairemont DMV, with their notoriously most difficult examiner, on his "secret test route," on garbage day when he makes you drive backwards down a narrow street filled with trash cans in your mom's enormous Suburban? Professional Driving Instructor is how! My son was a good driver before working with Beckham. He drove us home safely from LA in gridlocked traffic. He managed neighborhood streets and local freeways at all hours without incident. But Beckham turned him into an excellent driver. Thank you, Beckham!

Fantastic experience: Beckham was a patient and friendly driving instructor. I took about 10 lessons with him and passed on my first try. He was communicative (generally over text) and scheduled appointments around my schedule. I would highly recommend him for anyone in the San Diego (La Jolla, University Heights) area looking for a driving instructor. Each lesson we generally did some freeway driving but mostly stuck to local roads. His nephew or brother may also teach you. His nephew was very nice and I had a great time talking to him while practicing driving. Fantastic experience: I am a beginner at driving with nearly zero driving experience. Even though, thanks to Beckham, I passed the driving test and got my license. Beckham is an excellent and professional driving instructor. With his patient and friendly instruction, people can easily learn not only to pass the driving test to get a driving license but also know how to apply the knowledge and techniques in the real world and drive safely. More importantly, Beckham will based on everyone's learning speed and curve give advice and estimate when you will be able to have the test. Furthermore, he will clearly point out what mistake you make and how to do better next time. Also, he will let you be well-prepared to have the test. For a slow learner like me, working with Beckham, I still manage to get a pass on my first try.

Fantastic experience: I'm an adult driver who only had experience with right-hand drive a month ago, but thanks to Beckham and Long, I managed to pass the DMV driving test on my first try today (27 May 2022). I started my instruction with Beckham who is very experienced with driving and knows the ins-and-outs of the testing process. The instruction was very well organized. Each lesson was 2 hours ($60/hour) and Beckham was very efficient with the planning the route and pickup/dropoff locations so that I got as much time as possible behind the wheel. The first few lessons involved driving around small roads near the La Jolla neighborhood, but eventually they progress towards the DMV testing area. Very frequently I got to drive on the freeway even though that was not part of the test. Sometimes we also picked up other students at various locations and there were good learning opportunities when driving at unfamiliar locations. Beckham is very honest with you and pretty friendly during instruction. Sometimes he prepares snacks for you during the break. However, he can be quite strict if you make mistakes, especially near the test site. It is a good thing when trying to optimize for testing conditions. In addition, Beckham also plans your lessons and schedules the test at a date, time and location that is optimized for you to pass. The level of planning and personalization that goes into scheduling does shows the amount of dedication he has to ensure his students' success during the test. Closer to the date of my driving test, I got Long (Beckham's brother) as my instructor. My lessons with Long were mostly driving around the test area and fine tuning my driving skills for the test. Long is also very friendly and pretty chill. Like Beckham, he will also point out your mistakes so that you can learn from them. Overall, Beckham and Long are a great team of instructors and I would highly recommend if you are looking to pass your driving test. The only caveat I have is that their accent might be a bit strong, but most of the time you would be able to understand them and they are patient enough to explain it to you again if you ask.

The second and third lessons went very smoothly, he taught all the important skills on the road and what students need to improve before behind the wheel test. Beckham really nice and friendly, you can ask all questions you want. He will never yell at a student if you make mistake. 100% recommended.

Fantastic experience: Beckham is the best instructor! He makes sure not only you pass the test but also you become a careful driver. When practicing training with him, he taught me everything you need to know to ace the road test i.e. signaling, looking over shoulder, stop signs and intersections. He shared a lot of tips with me that will be helpful to do maneuvers at tricky traffic situations such as left turns at yield on green, T-intersection, right turn at red, 2-way stop signs, parallel parking, straight back up and so on. And mind you, these are highly nontrivial, one single mistake may lead to automatic fail. Additionally, he also makes sure that you signal properly, look both ways, your speed is good and when you make a stop, you pause for 2-3 seconds. These skills are highly valued. He will also practice with you at freeways as well as city streets in order make you a good driver able to confront any situation on the road. When I started practicing, my driving had so many flaws which Beckham corrected one by one. He is a nice person, cares about student and is very calm and patient. He was kind enough to teach me driving and I never felt nervous. When training, his bars are very high, so if you can train under him, you can be confident that you will surely pass the test. I passed the test today with only 5 errors. It went smooth!

Fantastic experience: Beckham is a very patient instructor. If you are a new driver who has never driven before I highly recommend him. He really cares for his student's progress and driving skill. He also makes his tips and suggestions simple enough for any new driver to follow. He is extremely professional on time and at the same time flexible and understanding. I had taken taken classes before with two other instructors but Beckham is million times better. I really wish I had checked Yelp before and taken classes with him!!

Fantastic experience: Many of my friends took driving lessons from beckam & they all suggested his name as instructor. No doubt he is very good, punctual as well very patient instructor. I never touch steering before so you can imagine how tough it was for me to learn & remember every bit of it. I must say he is very calm & good instructor, he will observe you first & based on your learning pattern he will proceed. I must say that he is very accurate in calculating the time you need to practice before the test. My U-turns & pull over were worst but he made me practice those as many time as possible �. It took me around 13-15 lessons to learn. I already recommended beckam to many of my friends who are interested in taking the lessons. Thanks Beckam for your patience & lessons.
