Fantastic experience: ABC in Shoreline was absolutely excellent and the careful attention, both to detail and to the students, was appreciated. We cannot recommend driving lessons with Rick highly enough; he's a wealth of knowledge and knows exactly how to help students be at ease but take it seriously. The classes, material, and pacing were just right. Seeing your kiddo go through the process of getting a permit and license could have been nerve-wracking but we felt supported the whole way through. We will definitely be sending our other kids through this school! Also -- the cancellation policies are written and articulated loud and clear for families to sign off on, so the complaint about getting charged when the reviewer failed to cancel an appointment was quite misleading. We found all policies to be fair and transparent up front.

Fantastic experience: my experience with abc was great! i had the same instructor throughout all my drives and he helped me learn so much but also feel really safe on the roads. thank you to Rick for making that happen and never failing to make me and my family laugh!

Negative experience: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! They will charge your card for payment when you make the appointment and not when you take the test so they can refuse to give you a test or a refund. We had an emergency come up with my family where my husband was sick. He missed his appointment. Me being alone that morning with a toddler and also pregnant, I couldn’t call to cancel the appointment. After 15 minutes of the appointment time, I received a notification that the appointment was cancelled. So, I didn’t think i needed to call to cancel appointment. I called the office to reschedule the appointment and was told that I would have to pay for another appointment again.

Fantastic experience: I took a 6 hour adult driving lesson package with Anne as my instructor. She was highly professional, kind, and supportive, which helped me to build my confidence in driving. I passed my driving test on the first attempt. I highly recommend her services.

Negative experience: This driving school provides such a poor service to clients. They just take costumers card and save in their system and do frequently charges for two three years after using their services .. please don't give your credit card information in his office.

Fantastic experience: I booked a 90 minute practice session and driving exam and my instructor Rick was amazing! He helped to correct all of the bad driving habits I picked up from previous driving experience and I feel much more confident in my driving ability after taking the course. I highly recommend the 90 minute lesson to any adult drivers with previous experience who just need a little extra correction to get them passing the driver’s exam.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with ABC. Instructors were really patient and helpful. I took six lessons and each of them covered a new skill. I felt quite confident at the end of the curriculum and was able to pass the skill test easily. Big thanks to Anne and Dustin.

Negative experience: I'm not sure who the other reviewers had, but our teen's teacher is condescending to the students and uses way more words than necessary, making following everything challenging at times as well as making the class quite boring. She is also pretty haphazard with the homework expectations, letting them do it in class one day, kicking students out who hadn't turned it in prior to class another day, and letting students who hadn't done it stay in class on yet another day. She might be an instructor at ABC, but she is certainly not a teacher. I'd recommend a different school if you have a teen ready for driver's ed.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this school! A friend recommended this school to me because they have nice people there and she wasn’t wrong! I took three classes there and then I passed the road test at first attempt. Anne was my instructor and examiner, she is so nice and great! She was so patient to me since the beginning explaining all my questions and giving me good and clear instructions helping me with my hearing loss. From the beginning of the test to the end she talked to me in kind words and made me feel calm and relaxed. Gave me helpful tips kindly at the end. Thank you, Anne! Also, the road where I did the test around the ABC Driving School is really good. It’s wide, not many parking cars, not much traffic. I had a great experience.

Negative experience: These guys constantly drive down busy residential streets and parallel park next to people's cars. They have a whole city to practice in but they always choose the same streets that are rather far away from their school and are a huge nuisance.

Fantastic experience: This is a very nice place. Very calm and very professional. They always find your mistake and then tell you how to correct them. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Had an awesome experience here with Rick who was my instructor. Rick made the process extremely easy for me by pointing out common pit-falls and he also gave me some great driving tips. I have 5+ years of driving experience in India so adjusting to a new country was definitely difficult. However, Rick's expertise and friendly attitude made my journey pretty easy. I highly recommend anyone who is new to driving to schedule a lesson and test with Rick. It was 100% worth my money.

Fantastic experience: This place is so helpful! First off, Ruth is amazing. She helped me schedule my drive and answered my questions and also showed me what to expect on my drive test. On day of drive test I did not have tabs on my car but It was an easy fix I just paid 30$ more to drive their vehicle. During my drive test I had Megan as my instructor, I’ve seen reviews about her coming off as rude but there needs to be boundaries when driving especially when another persons life can also be at risk. She was overall amazing and helped me feel less nervous. I did fail the test but she went over my errors. I took the test again and had Rick as my instructor. He’s so cool! I thought he’d be scary and mean but he looks like elvis presley and has a very chill personality. I passed my test and Rick also showed me my errors. Before coming to ABC driving school I went to Safety First Driving School also on aurora and they traumatized me. People there were extremely harsh and customer service was terrible. I wish I would have gone to ABC driving school for my courses. They’re way more polite and understand way more! 10/10!

Negative experience: I scheduled a driving skills test 3 weeks in advance with my father. We arrive there at the appointment time, only for the person in charge to inform us that because my written test had expired they cannot perform the driving skills test, however they are keeping the 50$ we payed for the test. Any driving school worth their salt will check several days in advance to make sure that everything is prepared and in order - I cannot stress how unprofessional it is to not make that check, and then keep your customers money because you "could've filled the appointment." Take your hard earned money elsewhere, folks.

Negative experience: If you drive a Tesla to take the test here, she will ask you not to look at the auxiliary system, tesla already can drive themselves they are still stuck in the 1980s, it is ridiculous, and the instructor is very strict, even if you drive well, you will not pass.

Fantastic experience: They got me in for my drive Test swiftly and the staff was patient and accommodating. The drive test was nerve wracking, as most tests are, but the instructor communicated clearly and was kind. They also got my results to the DOL immediately which was greatly appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I recently took the driving lessons and test at ABC driving school and i had a wonderful experience with them. 1. Scheduling website - Most of the driving schools allow you to view the available classes post paying the course fee but for ABC driving school you can see the schedule upfront on their website. It will be great if they can extend this feature for package courses also instead of just the individual classes. 2. Instructors - One of the best instructors near Seattle area. The instructors of ABC driving school are very friendly and they try to correct your mistakes in a polite manner. Their method of teaching parallel parking, backing around the corner, etc was very logical and made me feel very confident going into the test. Also, they give you a right assessment of your driving skills, I had initially booked 5 classes with them but had to cancel 1 class due to unavailability. The instructor there told me to go for the driving test just after 4 classes and i was able to clear the test without any issues. 3. Accessibility - If you’re living in Downtown Seattle, abc driving school is really accessible via E line Bus.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. Passed a road test at first attempt here. My examiner, Anne, is a so nice and great. At the beginning of the test, she talked me with kind words to help me ease my nerves and anxiety. During the test, she gave me very clear instructions and she was always patient to explain if somethings was misunderstood by me. Gave me helpful tips kindly at the end. BTW, the road situation is very good around the ABC Driving School, wide road lane, not many parking cars, not much traffic. Great experience.

Negative experience: Meghan (the manager) traumatized me but the other instructors were decent people. I failed my DOL driving test there, Meghan bluntly and rudely said that I was a bad driver, whined when I stood up for myself and refuted one of her claims, and said an accusatory "are you getting mad at me???" when I just wanted her to explain my infraction more clearly. Claimed that I should not be questioning her job or authority and that she was a "master examiner." Stuck-up. Stuck-up. Stuck-up. Stuck-up. Stuck-up. There was also a major communication mishap in regards to my first drive lesson. Even though I specifically explained that I had little experience driving, and only practiced in empty parking lots, I was brought to a busy winding road and was again intimidated by my driver. Driving school should not be this scarring.

Fantastic experience: As 31 year old who has never had their license, I had a lot of pent up anxiety over getting it done. Over the past few years my lovely wife taught me the basics but I was very unsure of some of the more technical maneuvers such as parallel parking. I scheduled my driving test with a 90 minute lesson beforehand, and my instructor, Anne, was extremely helpful and kind throughout the entire process, letting me know exactly what would be on the test and giving me some great tips for driving safely and maneuvering my vehicle. I ended up passing im the first attempt. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: My daughter had the worst experience at ABC Driving School. Megan was awful. Not only did she yell at me on the phone, she treated my daughter terribly. After such a poor experience at ABC, my daughter decided to take her tests through APEX. It was like night and day. The owner of APEX was kind, helpful and didn't try to intimidate her. I would never recommend ABC Driving School.

I enrolled in the teen driving course and had Anne for all my online lessons over zoom, and she was super informative, patient and helpful during the whole process. Rick is awesome! I had him for all my drive lessons and he made learning the maneuvers simple and the drives super fun, which helped me not be so nervous behind the wheel. I looked forward to the drives every week, they were super informative and just really fun to do. Everyone there is so kind, motivating and helpful, I loved my entire experience here. Thank you so much ABC, I couldn’t have gotten my license without you guys!

Fantastic experience: Very helpful! Went on drive #3 and and worked on city driving. Gayan helped with changing lanes which will then help with on drive #4 on the freeway. Rick another instructor has great feedback as well. Overall has improved my driving!

Fantastic experience: Did the lessons here as well as the DOL written and drive. I would recommend this place to everyone. I did the classes during covid (Zoom) and the homework was very clear and I honestly felt that I learned a lot. The driving lessons are very helpful especially to new drivers like I was at the time. All the instructors are very nice and knowledgeable. Just passed the DOL drive today and I just would like to thank abc again. ABC needs higher reviews than this.- From a student (16)

Fantastic experience: Great place

Positive experience: I went for written test for scheduling my first appointment for written test. The guy told me that I'll have unlimited time for my test. Then there was a lady at my test day and she put a reminder on it for the test that the test was only one hour and that I had 5 minutes left to complete it. But because they told me it was unlimited time, I had marked the questions that I wasn't sure and I wanted to review them to change my answers incase they were wrong. But I couldn't do it because I had 5min and I rushed.

I love this place since the beginning . Our family and friends have used ABC DS for our driving testing.

Negative experience: I usually don't write reviews, but the experience I had was worth sharing with others who are considering ABC. Today I came in to retake my DOL knowledge exam after my first test having expired after 2 years (without warning). I came in and received the test, but was surprised to see that the testing room was located in the manager's (Meghan) office, so I was able to hear the loud conversations happening between her and staff, students, and parents. Although this was incredibly distracting, it also allowed me to identify an unprofessional lack of customer service this facility exhibits. A Spanish-speaking couple came in after having scheduled a test or drive with ABC, and due to poor scheduling, they were unable to provide a Spanish-speaking instructor to work with, resulting in an additional 20-30-minute wait time (without apology). Instead of slowing down her English, she progressively began to speak louder and in a degrading tone. Another parent came in to complain about the school's unprofessional use of class time to address the police force and racial profiling when associated with potential driving violations. Although I was not in this class, it was incredibly disturbing to hear, especially considering Meghan had assigned blame to another white instructor, Anne. Meghan told the parent that she would insure "political issues/opinions" would not be given during class time. I finished the test quickly so I would no longer have to sit in that distracting room, and when the test was graded, she didn't go over the problems I had missed like she did the girl before me. When I completed this course at school, the instructors were all very kind and considerate (assuming they wanted to build a good reputation to continue teaching at said school). This all happened during a 45-minute period in which I was taking my exam. I will be taking my skills exam at 911 Driving School where they greeted me warmly and provided adequate resources and advice.

Negative experience: They failed my son on his written final. After talking to other schools they offer an open book test and someone to help your student pass the test to better prepare them for the DOL written exam. They refused to return my phone calls or provide me with written policy on how they do their testing. They never allowed my son to finish his drives and wanted him to re-take the course all over again. I called their corporate office and received no returned phone call. My son's instructor was unprofessional and very rude. I would not reccomend this driving school to anyone. 911 Driving School was very helpful, gave me a huge discount since these jerks took $500 from me and my son had to retake the course. I highly recomment 911, they are professional, helpful and very nice to work with.

Negative experience: THIS PLACE IS HUGE SCAM DON'T GO THERE. They failed me with same score which was 78. Look at this coincidence same day and same point. I know that they want to punish me. Although I have taken 5 lesson before. Meghan and Rick you are all scammers. Shame on all of you. They just want your money. At least you gonna fail one time so that they can make money. Its not easy to make money. I work 8 hours to make 100.

Fantastic experience: Hands down 5 Stars! My wife had just recently moved to Seattle from Australia. Even though my wife is 26 years old and knows how to drive, she had to re-take her knowledge and skills test. Dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon for my wife to take her skills test (She took the knowledge test at the DOL in Lynnwood) and must have just gotten lucky. Worked with Steve, who was super friendly and mentioned he could have my wife take the test right then and there. 20 minutes later, Steve and my wife were back from her skills test and a "Passing Score." Could not have had an easier experience! In addition, my wife mentioned Steve was very patient and nice, signs of a good instructor

Negative experience: bad bad bad, you will fail the test because this school wants to make money, they will ask you to back up the car around the curb and then you automatically failed the test, they charge $90 using your own car, every other school charges 40 to 50, do not go there

Negative experience: My license expired and I had to renew it. The driving instructor was rude & failed me for extremely small infractions, even though I’m 30 years old and have been driving for fourteen years. Will never try here again.

Fantastic experience: Why would you go anywhere else? It is close to the licencing location in shoreline. I let my licence lapse and it was shockingly nerve-racking to take all the tests again 16 years after I did it the first time. Their rates are super reasonable, they are professional and they worked with me to get me in as quickly as possible as I was in a time crunch. Skip looking around. Go here.

Fantastic experience: A family owned business, that's professional with great customer service. They were able to answer all my questions, even the silly ones, without making me feel stupid. Parking was great and the establishment is nice and clean. I would suggest to get written and driving test here, the prices are affordable, and having nice people to deal with is just the icing on top.

Fantastic experience: The people who are running this place are doing a great job! Back in 2016, I passed my road test here from the first try. Scheduling it online was very easy and convenient. I was in and out in about half an hour! I even arrived early and they let me take the test right away without having to wait for my appointment. I have already recommended this driving school to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: These guys are amazing! After I spent hours working with my son on how to parallel park without success, Steve showed him a trick and he had it down within minutes. When my daughter is ready for driving school I will be sending her there. Even if I found another school at half the price, my kids ability to drive well is the difference between life or death and not where I want to choose to be cheap. Besides their prices are actually very reasonable. Give these guys the chance to make your child a safe and competent driver. Our kids are all on the same road so I am happy to give ABC Driving School all the referrals I can.
