Fantastic experience: Excellent learning environment. All the faculty and staff were professional and went out of their way to ensure I was prepared for the state exam. I earned my CDL all in one go! It was an amazing experience going from the academy training yard to the state skills test yard feeling confident in what I had been taught. My peers and I were all successful in passing the test. 100% from the contributions and dedication from our instructors. Alan, Aaron, Vlad, and Rob were all confident in what they were teaching and gave us the tools we needed to be successful.

Fantastic experience: The office staff is very friendly, informative and quickly gives you everything you need to start the academy smoothly. The instructors are also very knowledgeable and more than willing to help with every step of the schooling process. They are also willing to give extra attention when and where it may be needed. It does get repetitive, however in this case that is a really good thing! You will be taught, step by step the correct way to pass the DOT test and get your license. Whether you're interested in Class A or Class B, you will be in great hands.

Fantastic experience: One of the few CDL school that accepted Gi-Bill(The ONLY ONE in the area at the time). It was a grind/stressful & full of doubts the whole 4 weeks(especially for some one with 0 knowledge & has never even been inside a truck) but I guess that's what made it all worth it in the end as a 1 & done Class A student. Pros: The Tacoma campus currently has a very good team of staff(Rob, Michelle, Vlad, Allen, Arran). Everyone is willing to help out when any student needs it but do keep in mind the student effort is first; you get what you put in... Come to this school if you are determined & not afraid to push yourself to be better than last-time/yesterday & you will succeed with the current crew here. All staff & instructors actually take pride when a student passes & I feel their effort... Cons: Need Hazmat support. Summary: Great school with Excellent staff & instructors that genuienly cares about students progress(do come with real effort of trying hard though). Very high pass ratio here at 70-80% on average I think(?) Which speaks or is evident of how good the current school staffs are here.

Fantastic experience: Recently got my Class A with Toro, couldn’t recommend a better school to go to. They know what they are doing and are very helpful. Huge thanks to my instructor Arran specifically as he broke everything down into very digestible chunks and made it incredibly easy to learn and understand. Fantastic experience: Toro trucking is a school with a couple of small classrooms on a lot near the 512 freeway in Tacoma. Looks simple and not much when you pull up. This couldn’t be more of a “Book by its cover” situation. The two weeks I spent with Rick, Rob, Vlad, Steve and the other instructors was amazing. Michelle in the office is a sweetheart. If you do plan on getting your CDL class A or B don’t hesitate to enroll here. You will not be disappointed. If you let the processes work then you will make friends with your classmates and teachers. 5 stars ⭐️ . 5 more if I could. Thank you Tacoma Campus. A thousands times Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Toro upgrading from my Class B to a Class A. Rick has a great crew there! Rob was amazing with getting the pre trip down. All the other instructors were very helpful! The ladies in the office were great as well. They were always a step ahead of everything. I would definitely recommend Toro!!

Fantastic experience: Best decision I ever made coming here! If you're considering getting your CDL this is the place to go. ROB was an excellent instructor, proud to say I got one of the best scores on my test because of him! Everyone here is great from the office to the classroom to learning how to inspect the trucks, backing and how to drive!

Negative experience: Absolute joke of a school. Instructor's don't even keep up with their medical cards. There is no bathroom or running water but at least the school provides #1 Porta potty for each gender.... Class sizes are 20-30 students to 3 instructors, if the instructors can work. If your workplace is looking for a cdl school to enroll you in advise them to look elsewhere. Spend $5000 somewhere you can learn to drive a properly maintained rig

Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly and helpful. They are from many backgrounds with so much combined experience. You can learn about trucking life, your important pre-trip inspections, get coached to master backing techniques and recover from attempts to ultimately put a truck in the lane safely. You’ll get experiences on the road for city drives and some highway drives so you can get a comfortable feel for the vehicles. All of this and personal study, really helps on the day of the practical exam for the state. I really enjoyed my experiences with this team and I would recommend them to anyone interested.

Fantastic experience: Toro Trucking Academy was professional from the start and the pricing is very fair compared to other schools. The structure of the program is organized throughout. They start you off so that it isn't overwhelming, feeding you small amounts of information to learn at first then adding to it as you go so that your learning bits and pieces at a time until one day you have it all memorized for the final test with the examiner on your drive test. Of course you get out of it what you put into it. The instructors were patient, knowledgeable, care about the students and really do care whether or not you pass your knowledge and drive test. Craig, Steve, Rob and Vlad are all GREAT GUYS. Of course we can't leave out the gals in the office who are always courteous, happy and smiling. I would choose Toro Trucking Academy again for any of my CDL needs and if I could I would give them a bazillion stars . I can't say enough about how GREAT they are. They really are AWESOME I passed my CDL A drive test the first time. One and done baby!!!

Fantastic experience: Awesome school!! Passed my CDL skills test first try, instructors are Cool Af and Make sure you understand everything they teach for you to pass the first time! One thing that I wish they did more was more city drives , I was only taken out 4 times total while I was there 2 weeks. Other than that I will be coming back to upgrade to my class A CDL when I have the time and money for it !! Thank you toro trucking academy!!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test for my CDL. This school was awesome. I feel the reason I did so well on the In cab and pre trip was from the classes I took at pacific. Dale was really helpful he took time to help me personally. The other guys where awesome also , Matt, Steve, Henry, Vlad. The women in the office were also very accommodating. Kitty helped me tremendously with the paper work and sign up. The young lady Mariana was always available to answer any questions and she has a cool accent. I would highly recommend this school.

I got the Best training from their staff, Manager Henry as well as all of the instructors Steve, Dale, Vlad and Matt. I also passed my skills test on the first time!!! Negative experience: Some of the staff are great and the school has a high CDL test pass rate. However, the instructors with the most authority and influence over trainees have a serious lack of discipline, professionalism and structure. This is not a school, it is a training program and that's a bad thing in this case. You are not being encouraged to learn and excel, or being taught how to be a professional driver, you are being trained to pass the CDL test and will be reprimanded if you want to flourish in your learning of the subject. You will be expected to participate in their idea of "trucker culture" which includes active perpetuation and encouragement of vulgar language and behavior. You will not be allowed to learn your own way, even if you are getting it all right. You cannot negotiate with them to focus on what you need, you must do their program their way on their schedule, even though they could easily flexibly accommodate individual needs. I walked in with a positive attitude, patience, commitment to learning, and a reasonable amount of tolerance and reasonable expectations, but this was a dead-end because the staff were by and large wrong and backwards.

Fantastic experience: The school was a great experience for me! Henry is a great manager and got me a job with a fuel company after graduating. Steve, Dale, Matt and Vladimir are very focused on teaching and will work with you if you are struggling with the course. Marianna and Kitty are truly a great asset to the administration side and are very professional. Thanks again!

Negative experience: Attended school not enough drive time or instructors to adequately teach material. First week wasted on power points instead of using it to learn in cab and out cab material. The school manager is hostile and does his best to bully you through class, for he's preparing for next months class with no regard to the invested student already present. There are great instructors there yet management is questionable. Would go on my 20 minute drive time twice a week, rest backing practice and in out cab with no direction. I addressed these issues to school management and expressed my wish to withdraw. I was then offered more drive time to say and finish. I had enough of the cajoling of the manager so I was sent this because I would not conform. Per our conversation today 12/18/2020, you decided to withdraw from the program. Your time sheets show that you have completed 80.25h and based on the Contract you are not qualifying for a Refund. Class is supposed to be 160hrs and I didn't qualify for a refund. Every day they have you sign in for 8 hrs even if you are not there for whole time I wonder how much i was charged for when I was not there.

Positive experience: In school now last week of school. Kinda concerned only have had less than a hour city driving and backing time your lucky to get one shot at all 3 backing tests . Meanwhile you are supposed to fill out time sheet that states 2 hours of backing

All the instructors are super nice and accommodating. They work with you in any way they can to help you reach your goal. They have patience and multiple teaching techniques that will guarantee a good learning experience. This place is so good that I got hired a week prior to me passing my state test. Their success rate is off the chart and their online classes are extremely user-friendly. Before you even think about checking any other school out check these guys out 1st, I highly recommend it. I've never driven a manual in my entire life and in four weeks they got me driving like a professional. Out of five stars I give these guys 15. Fantastic experience: I am so glad I chose this school to get my CDL. I appreciate that each instructor was very knowledgeable, and took the time to help you one on one with things you may be struggling with. They'll make sure you are totally ready for the test before you take it. All the staff was very supportive during my time there. I did not take advantage of their job placement program, but I saw it work out well for other students.

Fantastic experience: Also passed my CDL first time. It seems hard at first, as long as you want this. Just listen and learn. It was fun.

Positive experience: Staff is super friendly and the instructors are very helpful and knowledgeable. The cost wasn't bad it was a little under 5k but that dosnt included the fees at the dmv and for your test.The only issues i really have with this school was that there was no curriculum they just handed us a packet and said memorize it. Secondly after I graduated I tryed finding jobs on my own and hit a dead end so used the number and emails I had to get in contact with the schools counselor is what I assume his job title was he told us to come to him with help finding jobs well I never was contacted after I called and left a voicemail and text along with a email that I sent to the office I was able to find a local job no thanks to the school even though they market themselves on having a job placement assistance. Overall I loved the experience while there fun people but they just needed to make things a little smoother in the teaching process and actually do what they advertise for job assistance.

Fantastic experience: This school is absolutely one of the best to go to in my opinion, they work with you and teach you in the way you want to learn, they dont hover if you dont want them too, the staff is extremely friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Angel Suarez is the student counselor and he goes above and beyond to make sure any student is ready to test, he took time out of his weekend to meet up with me to work on my upshifting, downshifting and driving with no issue early in the morning at no extra charge, he wanted to see me pass. He also goes out of his way to help you find a job after you afterwords not only when you pass but when you graduate and get a job if that job doesn't pan out you can give him a call and he will give you all the info you need to find something else. Dwayne Sullivan is one of the best instructors there extremely friendly he will also go above and beyond to help you out to make sure you pass, any questions you have any issues with learning he will go out of his way to help you, he knows exactly what the examiners are looking for come testing day, and if he says you're ready to test then you are definitely ready. Everyone there wants to see you succeed, they know your spending money to go to their school and they want to help you anyway they can. Thank you pnwcdl school you have changed my life for the better.

Negative experience: Cunning. Took up my money, I did about 3 days of less than 20 miles of driving...then my priorities changed and I had to drop out. They could not refund...I pressed them and all they could do is return a mere $200. If you want honesty...go to CDS Lakewood, not PNW CDL.

Fantastic experience: Passed my class A test on my first try after completing the 4 week course. The instructors are very knowledgeable and patient with you while your learning to drive. They give you all the time you need to practice your backing and pre trip inspections. I felt more than prepared for my test by the time I took it.

Fantastic experience: I have just completed my CDL training at PNW Professional Driving. As with everything, you will get out of it what you put into it. Many students come in late, take long lunches, and/or leave early. Study hard, come for all of the hours available, and you will pass. That said, driving a combination vehicle is not for everybody. This school gives you all the tools you need to succeed. Use those tools and you will do great. Thank you, to all the employees at PNW. Maybe I’ll see you again some day on the road.

Fantastic experience: I studied at this school as a truck driver; this school greeted me with a good friendly team and spoke many languages in English, Russian, Spanish, Moldavian, Ukrainian, Indian and many others you can be trained both on an automatic gearbox and on a mechanical one. I chose a mechanical , the price of tuition was excellent for me now I work as a driver and I don’t regret that I went to this school and referred my friends. I would recommend this school to anyone learning to be a driver.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my test today on a 6 speed. The school was a good choice for me. The best instructors are Charles, Eli, Armen and Vlad. I’ve never driven a manual and they gave me the courage to do it. Go to school early put your name on the list to do backing and the city drive. Study the pre trip everyday all day. And the most important thing is to LISTEN to the instructor and pay attention. Don’t try to be a professional truck driver that’s been driving for 20 years while your in school. They will work with you and help you until you pass.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars ain't high enough. These guys are awesome. They're kind, understanding & they are very flexible with how often or how long you can attend school each day. I work nights & they allowed me to learn when I could. They worked with my schedule. They also really invest into their students. They genuinely want everyone to learn correctly & pass. Very patient & professional. All seem constantly possitive. Not only that, now that I have my CDL I can still come in & continue to learn or get more driving experience at no extra cost. They also speak multiple languages if that's important to you.
