Positive experience: We didn’t utilize the classroom, but there was no need to. For manual classes I’d hope to get a couple extra practice days in because 5 is not enough to feel fully confident, but I passed anyways. Overall the instructors were informative and attentive to us, the small class size gave each of us more time to practice skills and driving. The demeanor of one instructor Byron, was calm and collected so it made driving mistakes less stressful. I have no regrets with this school or purchase

Fantastic experience: I sing up for the Class B license at DTR and Dan and the rest of the staff is good and straight to the point. They take it serious and you have to study and do your homework to pass the class , because it’s important when you get behind a wheel of these truck and buses there are a lot of power and weight and nothing to play around with. So if you want to make money I will encourage most people to go get your CDL. I enjoy being over the road. The price is reasonable. If you fell the Class, you cannot blame anyone else but yourself so pay attention and do your homework. People time is money and your time is also important. I haven’t did my test yet, but I’m getting excited I’ve already enrolled. Thank you DTR

Negative experience: Worse place to go too, all they care about is the money not the students. The moment you get there they demand cash or they will down talk you giving statements like you will never qualify for student aids so come back when you have cash. If you make the mistake of giving them cash right after they receive it the hand you paperwork to sign stating you won't get a refund even if you don't start class. After that they won't contact you regarding classes you would have to call them constantly as if you begging for the class. Jay will lie to you as he did to me , I was told my class would start a certain date but it was moved and when I called he texted me msg saying they would contact me on the next class start date , it's been 4 months and nothing has happened. I even brought th case to the BBB and dtr refuses to answer them as well.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driver test on Monday and I am very excited to start my new journey. Thanks to DTR and all the staff for being very helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend this school to anyone who is looking to their CDL. Experience or not they teach you everything you need to know to get on the road. Thanks DTR.

Fantastic experience: Josh is a very competent instructors. DTR trucking instructors are fair, and tough. The kind of instructor necessary to be safe, to get on the road and understand the seriousness and responsibility of driving a truck.

Negative experience: Husband got his cdl ,and never got job placement help .. they never told him it's another 3000 to get his passenger endorsement, but made it seem like he could just add on to his current CDL.after taking course...not the case.. ANY WHO ...instructor was great.. JUST BE MORE CLEAR OF WHAT PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY PAYING FOR

Fantastic experience: Truck driving is my second career. DTR enabled me to learn, absorb and to practice all of the skills requisite of passing the test. The instructors are knowledgable and patient. I would recommend DTR to anyone contemplating a career in trucking.

Fantastic experience: Edit: It's been one year since I got my CDL out of DTR and I haven't looked back. I've seen the country, the whole country, coast to blessed coast. I've had so many adventures and met so many interesting characters I cant even keep track. I've never worked so long and so hard in all my life. But it's been worth every ounce of dedication. I'm making a hundred grand a year no lie, with medical benefits, pension, life insurance, uniform allowance, sick time, FMLA, the works. Granted, I am slapping together 80-90 hour weeks. If you're even thinking of getting your CDL -- stop thinking about it and call DTR. Here's as much data as I can provide for the CDL class I took September of 2023 at DTR School of Trucking: thanks to owner Daniel and instructor Josh I obtained my CDL class A for automatic transmission. They're a third party testing site. Small class size. Plenty of one-on-one coaching with instructor, Josh, who was patient with me and brought a wealth of trucking wisdom ready to pass on to me from his 10 years of experience behind the wheel. It's a grind, memorizing all that pre-trip verbiage. Backing takes practice. And DTR gave me all the batting practice I needed, rep after rep after rep, to feel confident about backing in a semi. I passed the test, but I felt confident getting behind the wheel of a tractor trailer and going OTR. I had a really good time during the learning process with my fellow students. It's a good bonding experience. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a challenge to gain proficiency over all the material presented in the course, especially the pre-trip, but DTR was there with me every step of the way and in the end I completed the program with a sense of confidence in my learning progress and mastery of driving skills. I want to make special mention that throughout the month-long journey I got the distinct impression that staff at DTR really cared about me as a driver and were willing to invest in my learning process. DTR is not just one of those "CDL mill" schools where they treat you like you're just another brick in the wall, a statistic, a number. No, at DTR I got personalized attention and encouragement on areas where I needed to improve. They helped me laser in on my weak points and gave me practice to where I felt competent. TBH when I started at DTR I couldn’t even back up a tricycle, let alone successfully do a 90 degree alley dock! But they didn’t give up on me, and schooled me up so I could pass the driving portion with confidence and gave me a solid background in safe driving strategies along with the theoretical underpinnings of the modern tractor/trailer pre-trip inspection to obtain my CDL. I am confident in my recommendation of DTR School of Trucking to anyone looking to get their CDL class A, take a refresher, and especially to people that are a little hesitant (like me) going into it about their abilities to drive truck. They helped me through, they can help you too.

Positive experience: The only reason I give 4 stars, instead of 5, is because I saw promotions saying the class was only 4 weeks long, but it turned out to be way longer than that about 8-10 weeks. But other than that it was a great experience, Danny and Michelle are great to work with, awesome attitudes everyday. Isiah was my instructor for the afternoon classes. He makes sure you're well prepared for the realities of trucking and the test. He's also almost always available on the weekends for some extra training. The trucks break down every once in a while and they're really quick to repair them. The prices are good if you pay in full, when I paid it was $5,500 and everything is covered, no weird hidden fees. Overall really great experience, I would recommend. Just know the training is not 4 weeks long it's longer, atleast for me when I attended

From the beginning of the process till the end their service was incredible and amazing. They were able to accommodate my work schedule. Fantastic experience: If you want a good school to get you CDL-A license you should go here and get it. Had no experience at all when any big trucks or trailers. Didn't know anything about them at all. I took the night classes and the instructor Isiah at night helps you out a lot of you need any help. He had to give me more tips than the other people in the class. I got a lot of time to practice using the truck and learn on it. I slowly got better and better and backing the truck and parking it. At the end of the 6-week class I was really good at parking the truck. When I started driving the truck on the road was nervous for the first 2 drives and after that I started feeling better at driving. Isiah was reassured me just to relax so I wouldn't cut my turns to sharp and hit curbs. Took my test to get my license and passed them on my first time because of the training I got at DTR. So happy to start a career in trucking all thanks to DTR. So again if you want to go to a good school to get your license go to DTR.

Fantastic experience: As any school, DTR have a plus and minus. They expect you to put the work, when you need help, they have the most patient and experienced instructors that will teach you and help you until you understand, operate, and know everything you need to know to get your CDL, no matter how long or how many times it takes you.

Fantastic experience: DTR has been an amazing experience for me learning and working towards getting my CDL’s, James and Russ my instructors are top notch, super patient and VERY knowledgeable. My Instructors definitely do a great job at making sure you learn everything thing you would need to know to pass your CDL test while making sure you actually understand everything also, every part of your training is broken down for you including all of the vehicle parts you need to know. My instructors were highly informative and have given me an great understanding of the trucking industry, they teach us great techniques and tips that we can use once we are out on our own on the road. It definitely were times where things got a little intense for me like bad nerves during some of the testing but having such supportive and dedicated instructors that want to see you succeed and pushes you to succeed makes it a little harder for you not to finish strong. The cost of schooling is affordable, the staff was very professional and encouraging, I would highly recommend DTR trucking school to anyone who is interested in getting their CDL’s, you’ll definitely have a great learning experience here!

Fantastic experience: its been a long journey. not knowing what's next after moving my fam from California to Las Vegas Nevada. it was pretty scary as being a former business owner and forced to shut down because of covid. I walked in for orientation and spoke with the owner! he assured me that I was making the right decision because I will never go with out employment because the trucking industry is at a high demand. so I gambled my last cleaned my credit card to pay for the school and let me tell you a small pay out for a big pay back. I completed all exams and received my cdl"s LEETTTTSSSSSS GOOOO! DTR SCHOOL OF TRUCKING FTW.

Negative experience: It was a done deal I was going to this school for sure until I talk to this guy on the phone asking for help on the DMV issue all I hear from him is he wants my money come in and pay first so it's clear that I has change my mind not to go to this school anymore customer service is very important if only thing you make people feel is you want their money or it will be no help then I can't get with that what if I u gotten the money then what am I to you !?!?

Fantastic experience: DTR is a family owned business that cares. The owner wants you to become a truck driver. Maybe even one day own your own trucking business. The instructor did an awesome job. He went over the vehicle, parts and explained everything you need to know about the class to pass. Have a question, let me tell you they have the answers. Follow their instructions and you will pass. You do need to put in the work and study hard after all this is a CDL training program. The examiner also did a awesome job. Explained everything before he would test you on the pre-trip, backing up skills & the road test. They guys made a great team. They were very professional, friendly and took the time to help me out. Negative experience: My husband had an appointment to meet with them. That day there was no one in the office. So he called and someone told him that they had to leave the office and would reschedule. Its been over a week he's called them every day and the guy keeps telling him that he will call him back, but nobody ever has. .

Positive experience: Great instructors with many years of experience they make sure you have the skills to succeed. Administrator assistant Keisha is great. Road examiner is tough and very demanding in a good way. The only negative I observed is the need to update training facility and equipment. Otherwise great school.

Positive experience: Russ was an amazing instructor!! Very helpful and thorough with the whole driving class. Only downfall was the class was pushed back almost 2 weeks behind schedule and pushed out too far that made the class and testing end 6 weeks from the original starting date. This made me cancel appointments I scheduled months before and cancel trips I’d plan way ahead and after our original end date of July 2nd.

Fantastic experience: Covid 19 forced a career change for me and like a lot of people I realize the potential in having a CDL. So I started to research how to get training. So I know how stressful it is choosing a school and spending that type of money and making that commitment of your time and efforts. So I thought I would write a honest review hopefully it helps someone. DTR is a great choice the instructors are awesome (shout out to Russ) they really do care if your doing well, they want you to pass with the knowledge to be successful. With that being said you have to put in the effort! Study hard and your life will be easier trust me. I can honestly say I'm happy with my experience at DTR and the knowledge and skills I acquired during my time there. Give Daniel a call if you want a REAL school that actually teaches. Fantastic experience: Graduated back in August. Loved the experience at DTR. Classes were small with one on one training. Manual and Automatic trucks were available. Instructors were excellent, very professional and DMV certified. Instructors went above and beyond to make sure our skills were at 110%. I’m very confident in my trailer backing skills and tractor driving. DTR is very fairly price for the CDL A program. Expect to pay nearly double with larger classes anywhere else. Thanks again DTR! Their instructors, Russ and Phil are FANTASTIC. Words cannot express how patient yet firm they are. I looked at many schools, I’m so glad I chose DTR. They’re teaching styles are different but they compliment each other.... their different styles of teaching allows you to get a real life feel of what trucking is. I can’t say enough about DTR. Fantastic experience: DTR School Of Trucking is great. I had pretty much what it took to pass the test. Due to Covid test were out till November. Can't and didn't want to wait. So I called Daniel at DTR. He was able to fit me in. He told that I needed to brunch up on a few things. Went back and met up with my trainer Russ who gave me some pointers. He really knew what he was talking about. Then came along Brandon the test taker. Dude was on point just like a dmv tester would be. Ended up passing my test and taking an envelope with me back to the Sparks NV DMV and paid a few more bucks and done! Have my class A cdl.

Fantastic experience: From reading all the reviews on here about DTR they are a 100% right. Well worth every penny you guys should give them a shot . They will have you backing and driving a truck and trailer in no time the right way. They have great instructors and the staff is awesome too.

Definitely one of Las Vegas top education truck driving programs! Russ was my instructor, one of thee most dedicated and most amazing instructor/person i have ever met. Fantastic experience: What an outstanding trucking school !. Russ, Franklin, and Brandon are top-notch instructors with over 100 years of driving experience between the three of them. All retired professional drivers, they know all aspects of the industry, history, regulations, governing bodies, protocols, and the necessary driving skill sets of being a professional commercial cdl driver. Whether you're looking to drive flatbed, dry van, refrigeration, this school will teach you what you need to know. My class included every age group from young 20s, all the way through 50 somethings looking to make career changes, or fresh starts. The in-class lecture section, that Russ taught with over fifty years of experience alone, was highly informative and gave me a much deeper perspective, understanding, and appreciation of the commercial trucking industry. This coupled with a lot of supportive hands-on driving instruction between Russ, Franklin, and Brandon that made it challenging, and fun at the same time. The testing segments are intense, but with the encouragement of the staff, they really won't let you fail. They are just that dedicated, and that good at teaching the skills necessary to get you started. One day you're brand new, and the next you're driving a large commercial vehicle. They waste no time at getting you started. It has always been a dream of mine to learn to drive a big truck. What a great experience it was for me, and I'm looking forward to many, many miles at the wheel of a big rig that I will owe to these excellent instructors, and this terrific school !. I must say you really have to study and pay attention , they make sure of that. Fantastic experience: I researched many, many schools before choosing this one. The program was absolutely outstanding. At the conclusion of the course I felt comfortable taking control of a semi and getting it safely to my destination and this comes from someone that has never stepped foot in one previously. Russ and Phil were amazing and took the time to teach you the right and safest way to accomplish what you were after. Amazing instructors that took the time with each student to make sure they had it and weren’t left behind. It was well worth it.

It did not take long for me to realize that due to the large number of students in my class, that I was not going to get any hands on training at all. Went to see Daniel at DTR. Unlike other schools that i went to check before them ( who has 0 interest in your future , all they want is money) Daniel will share his experience and give you an idea about the industry and what to expect. Their trainer Mr.Russ believe me i miss meeting this man every morning.. He is simply the best, He has lots of experience, skills and is very patient .. If Russ trains you then you do not have to worry about anything you will enjoy your training and be on your way.. he is too positive and he is the best trainer i ever had in my life.. Fantastic experience: I just finished their course and I have nothing bad to say about it at all. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. They teach you everything you would need to learn to get a CDL. Their curriculum was well rounded and to the point. I would highly recommend going to this school if you are looking to get a CDL.

Fantastic experience: This school was amazing to me! Coming in i thought i was just going to learn to drive a truck and get my CDL, but i learned way more than driving a truck. safety was my biggest thing, and i learned so much safety that i apply to my life daily while driving.
