Fantastic experience: Thank you Amanda and Mikki for being so kind and helpful throughout this whole process! I came to this school to get my class A manual.. on day one I met my instructor Jeremy. He kept calm and collected when training with me even when I I’d stall out in traffic. Thanks to his guidance and expertise I passed my pre trip, reverse tests and road test! I attended pretrip class every morning for 7 days and memorized the pre trip. My tester Matt was very professional and helped me get to the finish line. Jeremy my instructor made sure to help me in the areas I was having problems with! By day 7 I was dialed in! Thank you again Jeremy couldn’t have done it without you and thanks again CDL truck school for an awesome experience and great services!

Fantastic experience: I received my license 3 years ago from CDL truck school. Honestly a great atmosphere even though I did struggle a couple times on my clutching issues on my final test and one tough instructor it made me better prepared for the real world. 5 stars to the office staff and instructors.

Negative experience: failed every one of my employees. 15 men all failed? not likely. each instructor has their own way of testing. one trains the student, the other fails the student. i feel if you pay for the training, you should test for free. including retest.

Fantastic experience: Great school! Kenny and Edward were my 2 pre-trip instructors. They have a great knowledge of the trucks and are very good at explaining even to people with very little knowledge or pre experience with semis. Jeremy did my back up training. He instructed me in such an easy going way that I picked up the straight back, offset, and parallel parking on the first try. Edward did my testing. I was extremely nervous, but he put me at ease and made the test enjoyable. Last but not least, Amanda smiling at the front desk was always a pleasure to see every time I went there for my training. Thank you all for ypu help in getting my CDL!

Fantastic experience: This school is exactly what it is needed to get your CDL. This review is mainly for the instructor named JEREMY, I had already done 2 hrs of backing up, offset but never got to parallel parking with a different instructor and needed to come back for a third and this is when I met JEREMY and this man was God sent for teaching techniques that got me doing all 3 backings in the first try on each. If you come here ask for JEREMY, he is patient and great with instructions in real time. He made me 1000% more confident in my ability to pass my CDL test without an issue, JEREMY is the MAN! JEREMY THANK YOU KINDLY and GOD BLESS YOU! Again if you come here you want JEREMY as your instructor! Keep up the great work JEREMY! JOSHUA SANDERS

Positive experience: I have not yet attended this school but I did speak with Cleo on the phone about attending the training. A little info for those interested they do ask that you get your permit and do your eldt training before you attempt to do the actual in-truck training which is what this company provides. At least that's what I got from what Cleo told me on the phone. She was very nice and informative and out of all the trucking schools in the valley they are the most affordable. She dispelled a lot of lies that were told to me by other trucking schools especially about the 160 hours which is not federally required. The only things that are required is that you have to get your permit you have to get a physical and you have to do your ELDT training which is something that federal government recently added as a requirement in order for students to get their CDL licensing. After reading several of the reviews here on Google and actually speaking with the staff I think this is the place I will be attending as soon as I get some funds in the meantime I'll be working on my permit and doing the eldt training I recommend anyone interested in getting their CDL to do the exact same thing if you guys have more detail questions don't hesitate to call them they may not answer but they will call you back make sure you leave a detailed message they returned my call the next morning. I cannot make this any clearer but you will save thousands if you choose to go to this school over the other trucking schools in the valley which are charging an arm and an leg. Much love to all future drivers and shout out to the professional staff I look forward to attending the school. I would have gave it a five-star rating but to be fair I think I need to attend the school before I do that.

Negative experience: Stay away from this place at all costs!! The instructors seem to hate their jobs with unprofessional behavior and temper issues. It appears that their focus is more on failing students to make more money rather than genuinely assisting them in succeeding. I was advised that I don’t need to get underneath the truck during my pre-trip inspection and merely needed to point at them. Which I did exactly how it was explained. However, I was failed twice for air brake section and then failed a third time for not touching the parts underneath the truck I inspect. If this was the case, why was this not communicated to me during the first two failures instead I was told I was pretty good on parts section? There seems to be a lack of consistency and clarity in their teaching standards. Improved management and uniform teaching practices are needed to ensure that all instructors adhere to the same standards.

Fantastic experience: Got my CDL through them. At first it’s little intimidating because you come in and people are backing trucks up and parallel parking while it’s your day one, but after 3,4 days I found myself doing the same. AL,Matt , and Jeremy sure did an amazing job helping me understand a lot of things. They break it down to a science and help you improve where your weak points are. Pretrip class is phenomenal they really help you understand the components. The ladies that do the scheduling are amazing they make sure your being taken care of and make you feel very welcome while your there. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: What can I say about this school and their staff? They are absolutely amazing! Amanda works the front desk and has to be nicest person even when she has a long line and 20 people asking her different questions at the same time, even when your down on your self she will build you back up. My instructor was Kenny, such a wonderful man, patient, kind, and can even be witty, but when you get in the truck it’s all Business. He wants you to learn and be at your best . He will figure out how you learn best and run with it , and he doesn’t give up on you. If you really want to learn and be the best driver you can be, come to this school it’s work every penny you spend. The entire staff is kind and caring and truly cares.

Negative experience: This place is a scam operation it should be Investigated by the state They are failing people purposely to collect money and Just the cancellation is $50 !! In comparison if you take the state Test its $25 and you have 3 Chances They will charge you $250 for one chance every time .

Fantastic experience: This CDL school deserves a 5 star and beyond. They work hard to take care of their students so they pass. The owners, the instructors, everyone. They all put in a lot of work. Wanted to make a shout out to Phil for his instruction and training and to Kenny for the pre trip class. I can’t forget Matt. All great people here. In short, everyone deserves a shoutout. Worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: Came here with only my permit and a handful of online reading education on trucking. Yet in 7 days, I completed my driving class, passed my tests, and got my Manual CDL-A license. Al was an amazing instructor with lots of experience, and Kenny runs a great pretrip inspection class. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone trying to pass their tests and get their license, especially in a hurry. 10/10 establishment, thank you guys!!

Negative experience: What a way to approach a possible customer! Came here to coordinate 5 student to be trained for my company. Parked next to the gate to obtain a phone number and coordinate later with someone from the school. Opening the door a lady received me... "Sir, you have to move that truck from where you parked. You have to park outside not in the yard. Move it now and then come in." Well... I moved my pickup truck to somewhere else as well my business. I guess people don't know how to treat customers nowadays.

Fantastic experience: It is no doubt the Best school for the commercial vehicle in Arizona ! The staff are wonderful, you can not ask for the better people ! From the office Amanda,she knows how to guide your needs. Kenny ,Edward,Matt, Alfonso,Phil...are very professional, knowledgeable and patience with any questions, but you have to study too ,to be every morning by pre trip inspection presentation, which I did too !.. it's worth it! This school put the steering wheel in my hands and I pursuit my dream ...you can do it too! From the bottom of my heart I say THANK YOU CDL TRUCK SCHOOL Inc. !!!

Fantastic experience: Let me start by saying, I did my homework and visited 3 other schools that cost more than twice as much as this one and require you to sit in a classroom for 8-10 hours a day for at least 4 weeks, And, share a truck and instructor with up to 30 students. So you will end up with barely any time behind the wheel. If you want to get a CDL, this is the place to go, everyone was extremely nice, the trucks are in great condition and you will get 1 on 1 training. Not only that, you can walk away with a CDL in 2 weeks instead of 4 or 5.

Fantastic experience: Ken, Matt, Ed, and Amanda are great people, very informative. The pre trip is very helpful and has a great teacher who is willing to answer any questions to help you pass the test first try. They are very friendly and helpful to get you pointed in the right direction. Ed was also very helpful in my evaluation test and gave me some pointers to try and help with driving. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to get a cdl, they will make sure you have everything you need come test time you are ready.

Fantastic experience: Best school you could possibly go to!!! If you want to get your CDL fast and at a fair price do not hesitate an sign up. Everybody was nice and helpful. The trucks are in very good shape. Top class school!!! P.S You have to learn if you want to pass. They don't cut corners but they don't make you learn more than you have to. Fantastic experience: I drove for 20 plus years, but have up my CDL 5 years ago. I came to get a refresher course for the road test and walk around. The instructors are excellent. Phil and Al have the hearts of teachers. They helped me knock the rust off my driving and made me aware of my bad driving habits. I feel I will be successful in my test as a result of the instruction I was given.

Fantastic experience: Hands down if your nervous about getting your CDL license or shifting or backing or driving this is the place to go! I was a student in the 7 day program and with my one one one training time with my instructor the great Hector Fuentes he helped me work threw all of it untill I had it down pat. And they preach the morning pretrip class that they do ever morning for a reason take it and go to it and study it every chance you get it helped me get a almost perfect score!

Fantastic experience: Recently finished the 7 day course. So glad I chose to come here instead of paying 3-4x as much at the other schools around (where they spend 2 weeks of your time and money just on the written exam portion which is something you can study for on your own in a few days). Learning the manual was super tough but hats off to Matt for doing a great job of teaching and ingraining the proper habits for me to pass on try 1. Everyone here is great and this is absolutely the way to go if you need to get your CDL in Phoenix!

Fantastic experience: I came to this school Literally knowing Nothing! I got a job promotion through my company and had to get my CDL for the job. I took the 7 day (manual) course and 2 days in I felt like it was Impossible....I was Never going to get it in that time frame!! I went every single day and studied like crazy and practiced with their amazing trainers and today my 8th day I took my test and Passed! They give you everything you need to pass!!! I highly recommend! Great People!!

Negative experience: This place is absolutely horrible! They are absolutely money hungry, only accept cash, raise the price everytime you go. AND fail you for no reason everytime you’re almost done driving. This place is awful and i definitely don’t recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great School with great instructors and staff

Positive experience: I spent 2.5 days at this facility completing my CDL requirements at the last minute. They were able to fit me into the schedule. The majority of the staff were great. Lowell went above and beyond by teaching the pre-trip class in a way that keeps it real and does not intimidate you. He also gave a one hour evaluation where he critiqued my driving and gave some sound advice on how to always know when my wheels were straight and what to look for when backing up. And last but not least he came in on his day off to retest me after I failed and had to retest within 4 days due to my permit expiring. Tammy at the front desk was friendly and professional and helped to facilitate my testing schedule. Justus (I believe he is the owner or at that level) was fun to listen to with a dry sense of humor and was able to squeeze my hour of instruction with Lowell into the schedule at the last minute. The only downer was Michelle - her approach appeared designed to intentionally intimidate and belittle. My first interaction with her was being told that WHEN (not if) I failed none of my testing would be viable as my permit was expiring that day (not true it had 5 days left on it). She was adamant that WHEN I failed I probably would not be able to get rescheduled in time to obtain my CDL and most people would just get another permit and reschedule. Once it was established that I was testing that day we proceeded to pre-trip inspection (where there was some confusion but we worked through it) followed by the back up testing which I failed. Was she right to fail the back up test? Absolutely! Was she right to conduct herself in a way that caused undue stress, nerves, and angst to the person being tested? Absolutely not! At no point did she introduce herself, appear approachable, or in anyway make this anything other then nerve-racking. Based upon my experience with most of the staff I would recommend pre-trip class, instruction, and testing at this facility. I believe that they are one of the most cost efficient and straightforward options out there. Hopefully when you attend you will end up with one of the 6 or so other examiners that are there. Fantastic experience: Recent grad of the 5 day course. Matt was exceptional! He was very patient, professional and me being extremely new, never driven a semi before, was fully committed to make sure I knew everything I needed to know to get my CDL-A. Everyone there was extremely helpful, the girls in the office are wonderful, and full of knowledge. I would highly recommend their course to anyone wishing to get their endorsement. Fantastic experience: I attended the CDL Truck School Inc. 7 day course in July 2022 for my class A CDL license. The Instructors, Staff, and Owners of this school are amazing to work with. The owners run a very professional business/school as they assist you through the very technical points of study to obtain your CDL license. The instructors are extremely professional, and knowledgeable in their craft, while having the ability to teach in a very understandable format for all levels of student. I give a special shout out to Lowell who was my primary instructor and provided me outstanding instruction and is a credit to the profession, and this school, Along with instructor’s Scott and Ken their professionalism and instruction were very on point as well. In my opinion this school provides the best training in the Phoenix area. They provide an affordable school in a convenient format with flexible scheduling, in a very timely, efficient manner. Fantastic experience: I just completed my 7 day course, did my testing, "which is not easy", but ended up getting my class A license. I reccomend this school, as they say "you don't have to be crazy to give it a try." Matt was my instructor for the majority of the training and he was very professional and enthusiastic about what he does. I saw, another comment, you have to be fully invested with your time and energy if you want to get your class A, and its true. They helped me through most of it. and practicing backing, which I underestimated the difficulty in this but passed on my third attempt. Anyway, great place to train and get a CDL.

Fantastic experience: CDL Truck School is a great affordable school to get your CDL. I would recommend them to anyone I know. I took the pre trip class for about two weeks to prepare myself for the pre trip. There is a lot to remember on the per trip inspection. By the end of those two weeks I pretty much had everything memories. I got a great score on my pre trip inspection test. Thank you very much for offering this class. You do have to parallel park a semi. I feel this is a very difficult task to perform. If you have a vehicle to practice with I highly recommend you do. Unfortunately I didn't have to vehicle to practice with and I failed the first time around. I went back today and was able the get through the parallel parking. The other two parking test are easy and more practical ways of parking a semi. I'm sure others will be fine with these test. Just watch out for the parallel parking. The road test was the easiest part of the test and I did great. Overall all the staff was helpful with my questions and concerns when I was there every morning during the two weeks of pre trip class. I am very satisfied with the outcome of my test and would recommend you giving the school a call to get scheduled up for your CDL Training. Thanks a million CDL Truck School.

Fantastic experience: This by far is the best place to get your CDL. My instructor Ken has great knowledge about shifting, parallel parking, and the pre-trip inspection. I signed up for the 7 day course not ever knowing how to drive a tractor and trailer when I started but when my course was completed I knew all about how to drive combination vehicles. I’ve gotten my CDL Class B and then upgraded to Class A here at this school. They were patient with me every step of the way. Thank you all @ CDL Truck School Inc.

Negative experience: If you can get your trainers all on the same page on how to describe and say the parts for the pre trip it could be better . Some tell us one way and others tell us another way, and it just confuses people . It seems you guys do it on purpose to fail people , other than that it’s and ok place to get a cdl without doing the full course .

Fantastic experience: I will not say it is a super easy task to get your CDL but with the help of this school and following their guidance (example attending several pre-trip classes and cheat sheets) you can get your CDL in a fast 7 days. First day of driving (never even started a semi before) I was shifting and driving back to the school in traffic. Everyone was extremely helpful and the cost/time is a huge appeal!!!!!! Not to mention with the new law change as of Feb. 2022, you must attend a school now.

I did the 7 day course for my class a license and learned a lot from my instructor Matt (shout out to him I wouldn’t have my license without his help). Very professional never had any issues understanding the process to get to the end goal. One tip I will give about this school is don’t expect to be given a license for participation you need to be fully invested in this and eat, breath, and sleep your class a. Noticed that there was some salty people go in and out but after chatting with a few of them realized that they expected to get a easy license out of this school. Fantastic experience: I took the 7 day course. My instructor Lowell was knowledgeable and professional. It is clear that all the staff want to help future driver's succeed in obtaining whichever class license they are going for. I am happy i chose this school. They were accommodating and responsive. Kala always returned my calls as long as i left a message. And they got me in sooner do to a cancellation.Thank you for helping me recieve my class a manual license.

Fantastic experience: This is where I obtained my CDL A, from front desk to teachers they are all awesome and down to earth, I highly recommend this school to anyone trying to get that commercial license, also if you are planning to pass school here please do not study pre trip out of YouTube videos (no matter how pro they look). Also talk to all the teachers, they all super friendly and do care, and each will teach you in a different way and trust me one of them will "click" And as a final advice. "You better study, study and then study some more, you won't get your CDL just by participating."

Fantastic experience: Long over due review…everyone saying it’s a scam is just bitter I paid the testing fee and air break course ONLY and passed my first time…and also everyone complaining about the staff being rude I never got vibe at all from anyone and a Reality check your in a course to be a truck driver get use to people/dispatchers/customers/ being rude if not you won’t last long in this industry if your feelings get hurt easy maybe take a phlebotomist course or a secretary jobs I owe a lot of gratitude to this place this month marks a year since I got my cdl from that school I been driving for a union company since…..drops mic

Fantastic experience: I took the 7 day Class A CDL course, and was thoroughly impressed with the staff and systematic program. The daily training provided for pre-trip vehicle inspections was beneficial to developing a systematic way to perform a vehicle inspection. The trainer I was provided with was Matt and he was patient and knowledgeable helping me to focus quickly on areas I needed the most improvement. I needed extra training on top of the original course to improve the double clutch shifting, and Kayla in the front office quickly scheduled together a plan to help me succeed. I recommend you setting aside most of the morning when attending, to apply your time wisely, and to be patient with the testing process. Much like the Department of Motor Vehicles, the state guide lined test must be preformed within certain parameters and wait times can be lengthy. Although I assure you that this school is very personable, knowledgeable, fair, and ultimately wants to see you succeed. I am more then thankful for their hard work and definitely recommend this school over the others.

Negative experience: Wow, 2 people in office, girl speaking w student(?) at door w I'm guessing fellow instructor or mgr there also. The guy steps out across into trng room, heads back for office looking at me both times but doesn't utter a word?? Lol you obviously don't need my friends money as I was looking for info on his behalf. I did my road test here in 98' for less than $55, 24 yrs later it's more than tripled to $250!! I know inflation exists but unless your insurance has gone up 6 fold you can't explain the increase. You've added some new trucks to fleet, but still have the same trailers. Work on your people skills

Fantastic experience: Great group of people. They do it the right way and give you all the resources you need to pass. If your not up to speed like me they give you a lot of feedback and a strategy on how to get there. Be receptive and you’ll pass.

Si le pudiese dar más estrellas lo hiciera, es muy recomendable y te hacen sentir confianza al momento de la inspección y manejo. No tengas miedo de comenzar tu entrenamiento.

Negative experience: What a waste of time and money. Not only did I opt for the pretrip class and repeated required verbage. I was failed for not explaining to the instructor the test that they were testing me on. I did it and did it successfully, but she was too dumb to know what the whole thing was about. No air loss, yes but you need to say it was less than ban 3. No air loss means zero. Stay away at all costs, in this case it's a tank of diesel and $250. I should have listened to prior posts about continually failing for more money. And the school bus I was testing on , would not pass a DOT inspection, so there is that.

Fantastic experience: I came in not knowing anything about a commercial vehicle nor how to drive one especially manual. I did the 7 day course but due to being short staffed because of scheduled vacation, i got everything done in 5 days and passed easily. You learn what you need if you pay attention to what they are showing & telling you!

Fantastic experience: Very good place to get training on a CDL ,I went to 4 pre-rrip classes and it was worth it .All I can say is just practice, and learn your pre-rrip. If you can ask for Scott. He is amazing!

Fantastic experience: Loved my experience, really good teachers, and the easiest way to get your cdl in my opinion. Just know that most companies won’t hire you unless you have a few years of cdl driving experience. So just go through knight or swift and they will train you for free.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this school there just out there to take your money they won’t pass you in till give up a lot of money they will fail you and not tell you what you got wrong on the test and you know you did everything by the book they just want more money each time you fail also very poor communication and and the instructors are not professional and don’t know them selfs, each instructors say different things and don’t waste you time and money going to this school

Negative experience: This is a for profit school if you wanna get your CDL take their complete course. If you just want to take the test I would recommend Phoenix driving institute.

Fantastic experience: I don’t know I thought it was pretty good at least instructor I had it’s one on one and not having to share the truck with other people so it’s pretty much you and the instructor no interruptions

Fantastic experience: I don't know why people complain. It was a great school. You get what u put in, just like anything. Yeah, they are relaxed there and yes the class sometimes starts 15 min late and end 15 min early. I was stressed that i was losing paying time, but if you try your hardest and don't quit and devote 100%, you will pass. The pre-trip class is clutch! Go to every class. Life is not perfect and neither is this class, but the value of 1500 opposed to a CR England or Swift is priceless. If u have to pay for an extra hour or 2 for backing up time, do it. If you don't pass here, it is on u. Instructors are top notch. Owner is tough, but that is life.

Fantastic experience: This school is great for getting your class A cdl. I recently went through this school in late March early April and everything was great. My trainer Matthew Molina was spot on when giving me direction and taught me everything I needed being new to driving a semi. Michelle was great at pre-trip and I recommend paying the money and going to it everyday until you know it backwards and forwards. I took the 7 day course and it was exactly what I needed to pass my final test. Even if you know how to drive a semi standard combo w/air brakes, pay the money for at least a couple hours Of practice , trust me, you will need it. Overall, I was very pleased with how they treat you and teach you the importance of operating a semi safety and correctly. 5 stars !!
