Negative experience: I had the worst first time on the road driving experience ever! It never crossed my mind to have such a bad experience with an instructor. My first day of class was in the morning (around 8 or 8:30 in the morning), so I went and meet him. It was ok at first. Then, I wanted to learn about parking and street signs and I got excited. Suddenly, my instructor immediately stops me and got extremely confused and ask "What are you trying to do" I said I wanted to learn parking, street signs, and turns and with a confused and frustrated look tells me "Just parking for 2 hours or what?! I am confused." Then he asked "Did they give you a schedule?" I said no because I thought they already told him and goes "Huh?" So I had to repeat it again (He had a very heavy Arabic accent and a very bad temper. I guess he doesn't understand English very well because I had to repeat my questions a lot). So then during my entire lesson, he would spend the ENTIRE time on his phone and call his friends or his coworkers and it was on speaker mode so I could hear the other person. He kept coughing loudly and I told him to turn the other way, but still gross and very uneducated middle aged men. I told him that I was scared to go in the road because it was my first time and I never tried it before. He tells me "you need to sign up for more lessons." I gave a disgusted look and replied "umm... ok?" So as I drive around the parking lot, he was just quiet all the time with me, apart from being on his phone all the time. As I entered the road, he would yell at me to to push the gas more and more then he tells me that I am over the speed limit. He would also yell "GO LEFT/RIGHT" at the last minute as soon as I was close to the light. He would AGRESSIVELY turn the steering wheel to the correct direction. When I was scared to turn he would yell "GO GO GO!" very angerly. I told him this was my FIRST TIME in the road, but he shrugged and said "Ack, you will be fine." He would then ask me which side do I look when turning left and I gave him the wrong answer because I didn't understand the question, and so he rudely tells me the correct answer and he made me feel bad. Whe then stopped at the street with the houses and teaches me about the right turn technique. So then it was my turn to move the steering wheel to the right and I made a mistake and he yelled "USE THE RIGHT HAND!" I made a mistake again and he yells "NOOO!... ugh!!" as he slapped his knees. To continue, I was driving straight and decided to go right, but then the instructor AGRESSIVELY pulled the wheel and I panicked and said "You scared me!!" And he yelled "KEEP GOING STRAIGHT!" At that moment, I was even more terrified and tense than I was before, all because of the uneducated instructor Mr. Melad with his heavy accent. He doesn't deserve those certificates. My body was shaking all throughout the lesson and he doesn't care. My complain is the way he treated me during the lesson. Is he like this with his students? I never had an instructor like that. The educator is very uneducated. Isn't the instructor supposed to know what they are doing and not ask the student? How is he even certified? All is does is be on his phone and stays quiet when he is with a student, he doesn't teach, all he does is make you feel uncomfortable. I would never recommend it for a beginner or anyone.

Fantastic experience: Took two hours before my road test Mike was so patient I messed up so many times on the parking and he kept teaching me.

Negative experience: EDIT- I AM NOT JOKING. i wish i was but the few times i drove with that instructor he smelt bad, granted it was summertime but still you could tell because when he would lift his arms up to steer the wheel () the smell would come up. the shorter arab instructor smells so musty it’s not even funny anymore. when he lifts his arm up it’s pure hell, one time i literally had to roll down the window mid drive. you can tell he wears cologne but absolutely no deodorant. MIKE TELL HIM TO PROPER SHOWER PLUS DEODORANT.

Negative experience: pls read. why do you call yourself 5 driving when half the reviews are bad. the instructors that drive with you speak with a heavy accent and have almost no patience. it was my first time ever behind a wheel and the instructor (they are all arabic and senior citizens) would get really irritated. if i did something wrong or did a mistake more than once he would slap his leg and roll his eyes, sign, kiss his teeth, and constantly say “where you going” and aggressively steer the wheel the correct way. i could see if it was my 6th day driving but it was my first have some compassion. Mike the younger one who teaches in the classroom is just alright he shows videos and slideshows, not leaving it up enough for us to take proper notes and expects us to know the answers on all tests and when he popcorn picks you. Obviously if i knew the answer i would raise my hand, he will call on you and not move on until you say something and it’s always the same people he popcorn picks on purpose. it’s annoying and not a good thing as i assume in his mind he thinks that’s making him a good teacher. The class is not hard but he’s not the best lecturer it’s hard to actually learn, everything is quick, he will randomly talk for a while we are testing and dam near rush us while only giving us the last 30 minutes of class to the tests. i also think he’s lying about being a pilot..wouldn’t recommend this place to a dog.

Fantastic experience: My instructor Mike was exceptional. He was very understanding of me learning. It’s been years since I have been in the road. He gave me more confidence to keep going. I learned so much. I’m a take a few more classes.

Negative experience: N heat for 3 days and it’s very cold outside 20 degrees and instructor don’t even know English and he’s very rude. Never well I sent my second child here.

Negative experience: Both my girls took Segment 1 together and said that Karen was great. Mark on the other hand was rude to one of my girls constantly. It sounds like they spent a lot of time in gas station parking lots unattended in this vehicle while he was inside talking to family and purchasing snacks.

Negative experience: rude instructors who lower the students self esteem

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 5 STAR Driving School for anyone seeking driving lessons, that's why: I had an exceptional experience with this driving school from start to finish. The scheduling process was flexible, allowing me to find convenient lesson times. My instructor, Milad, prepared me for my exam perfectly. With his expert assistance, I was able to pass the road test successfully, even without any prior driving experience. I passed my road test on the 1-st attempt!!! I'm REALLY grateful for his support! The driving school itself is well-organized, and the staff members are friendly and welcoming! I'm from Ukraine, and I just arrived in the USA so they generously helped me with transportation ( thanks Mr. Taha ) and the language barrier (thanks Milad). I see some negative reviews of this school, I find it surprising because my experience was 100% positive. I want to leave here the video of my last lesson, where we prepared me for the exam.

Negative experience: Driving instructor watching memes the whole time i was driving. Doesn't tell me what to do until the last second, for example i was told to turn right after i was already halfway through the intersection, and i got yelled at for missing the turn. The driving instructor Mr. M tried to show me a "funny video" while i was driving. Don't go here for real.

Negative experience: Terrible driving school. The instructor yelled at me the entire time. This is ridiculous considering the instructor should be calm and I am only a beginner. Disgraceful and shameful place to go. Find somewhere else!

Negative experience: Absolute nightmare DO NOT GO FIND A DIFFERENT PLACE , the worse possible scheduling and planning, no time to make up classes and hours and just try to schedule a drive. They will write it down, tell you to come, then if they decide they have another student that they like more than you they will just go with that student and reduce your hours.

Negative experience: Grey/silver Toyota marked with company emblems instructor drives like a crazy person I’m getting gas and watched this fool fly into the gas station at least 20mph around to the back side to go to the oil change with no regard for laws or ppl I pray to god this isn’t how he is teaching his students I have two kids about to learn to drive and I wouldn’t recommend this place im going to enroll my kids with a reputable driving school like Macomb driving academy

Negative experience: Do not deal with this company in my opinion a scam. I go on the website see the rates then call to schedule a hour practice for my 18 year old. The rate says $45 for a hour. Upon calling the person who barely speaks English try to make me schedule for 2 hours, I tell them I’m not ready to do that yet I want to see how a hour goes. They tell me I will have to pay $55 instead for 1 hour. I asked why when the rate online says $45 for one hour. They say to me that people usually schedule more I said that’s fine but I will like to see how it goes and why are you trying to charge me a different price then what’s advertised. They say ok I’ll have to see about that then they proceed to ask me for a amount of $47.50 and my debit or credit card. Now why would I pay upfront over the phone for a service that I haven’t even had yet. Big red flag. I do not recommend this company.

Negative experience: My first encounter with an instructor was when he had a student park in the handicap spot. When I questioned the instructor he said they where only parking there for a minute while he went into the office. So they teach students its okay to park illegally. My second encounter was when I was trying to pull forward into a parking space. An instructor driving with a student pulled right in front of me into the space. I had to hit my brakes.

Negative experience: Called to inquire about services offered was put on a 20 minute hold before I finally hung up I will not be inquiring about the services further as they do not seem to care about there potential customers so I can't imagine what they do with the poor souls that actually pay them In short I would recommend finding another avenue to teach your young ones how to drive

Fantastic experience: My experience at 5 Star Driving was very good. Sam is a very good instructor and he is very patient and calm. He explains everything in great detail. The whole team of 5 Star Driving School is great and very professional. Their service is value for money. I would recommend this driving school to everyone in Michigan.

Negative experience: most driving instructors here are english as second language. Hard for my young student to learn simply cause they couldn't understand the instructor. also a few cancelations of practice driving time and my student claimed the instructors were on their phones duting road time. not acceptable and kinda clueless. buyer beware

Negative experience: I was driving in the plaza to get to the cafe on the corner. I noticed a parking spot closer to Sally’s Beauty & backed up with my signal to let the car in front of me know. I noticed the car was a student driver with a woman instructor so I had a feeling it was 5 Star Driving School in the plaza. Once I started to park my car, the instructor slammed on the horn & started to yell at me with students in the car. That is EXTREMELY sad & unprofessional as I made sure they knew where I was going. Poor students have to deal with a woman that has uncontrollable road rage. How terrible for an instructor to freak out the students & cause anxiety.

Negative experience: Absolute mess, made me adjust my schedule TWICE because their staff didn’t show up or were late and made me wait for 40 minutes. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: When my wife signed up our daughter for this driving school, the we paid was supposed to include: segment 1, segment 2 and the road test. After segment1 we found out that segment 2 was not included in the price so we had to pay them more money. Now that our daughter is ready for the road test, they don’t offer the road test? SO JUST BEWARE OF WHAT THEY TELL YOU!

Negative experience: Yell way too much and I get nervous while driving if you do too do not consider this driving school!

Negative experience: I question who wrote all these 5 star reviews. This place is so unorganized! I had to go to a competitors website to get detailed information on what the course entailed. Nowhere did they tell me to also plan on top of two hours of classroom time daily they needed 6 hours of driving and 4 hours of watching.... That information sure would have been helpful. Also, the instructor (when he is there) speaks broken english and his wife (?) has to use a translator box when she watches the class while the husband leaves to drive with somebody!! They don't teach either, they sit and watch a video the whole time. When driving, the instructor watches videos on his phone and when he puts it in his pocket, the video still plays loud enough to be heard. If I hadn't paid in full, I would have pulled my child from this class!

Negative experience: Guy called my number looking for someone I don't know. I let him know he had the wrong number. This man proceeded to argue with me!! Telling me I wasn't listening to him and he was from 5 Star Driving School, and wouldn't let me get 2 words in. I told him delete my number and not call back. 30 seconds later this man calls me back and begins shouting at me over the phone. I tell him again, I am not who he is looking for and to remove my number from his list. The guy says "there is no list" and proceeded to tell me again who he is looking for. Like wth!!! What kind of place is this?!?!?! I don't of any reputable business that would talk to someone like that! Just insane

Negative experience: I strictly booked this place for driving lessons, no classes. This is the most disorganized, rip off of a place ever. I had to pay for my lessons in advance. I would book my days and show up and he would tell me to reschedule because he was teaching a class or doing something else when he is the one that agreed on the dates and times. He would not have me drive for the whole hour that I had paid for, more like 40 mins. He would have me take him places and he would be inside for 20+ mins, eating up my driving time that I paid for. Literally go anywhere else if you can.

Fantastic experience: The best driving school around. They saved the city by adding in extra hours to their day to accommodate all of the students coming in for summer that missed training last year. Other schools won't even answer their phones.. They are so kind, hard working, and give thorough instruction. They're even going from 6 am until midnight. So respectful, too! The instructors wear dress shirts and slacks. I am so happy my sons are attending segment 1 and 2 here right now. You take pride in your work and it shows. Thank you all so much!!!! You're the best there is!!!!

Negative experience: Don’t waste your money here All the reviews are very fake. The instructor is not “nice” at all. Very much the opposite, if you don’t know somthing he gets aggravated. When he drove with me he was talking on the phone in another language for half of the time, was mumbling between his conversation and it was confusing. Very heavy accent and i didn’t understand what he was asking and said the wrong thing and was very rude about and made me feel bad about it!! It’s also pretty much watch a video and teach yourself and answer questions and go back home. Also 4 days a week!! that's a lot.

Fantastic experience: 5 star Drivinf is the best school in Clinton Township. They have many available times and are very reasonable with their pricing. I have recommended a lot of our friends to them and they have all been highly satisfied!!

Negative experience: so on the contract they said pay the first day of the driving class, but when we was leaving, they said i had to pay the day i went to fill the paperwork out. and we was like but the contact say pay the first day and they was like oh they meant when you fill the paperwork out. so my mom asked for a copy of the contract and they said something bout some they not allowed to do that so we took pictures just in case. Than today we had the class which was very unprofessional. they had the phones ringing the whole time making it hard for students to concentrate and the teacher would stop the lesson to answer his cell phone multiple times. and what really made me upset was they didn’t think to check people temperatures until 1 hour and 30 minutes into the class when the class was 2 hours. and one of the students had a high fever and coronavirus is going around. they put they self , me, the other student and the student with the fever life at risk basically. they didn’t sanitize/disinfect the table or seat the kid with the fever was sitting at the remainder of the class and i don’t think they cleaned it even after i left because there was another class right after my class ended. so my mom being worried she took me out the class and asked for a refund in which they are trying to act like they can’t give her money back on her card and she don’t want cash because of germs.moral of the story don’t go here it’s very unprofessional.

Negative experience: Don’t waste your 200+ dollars on this place. The classroom is unorganized and very hard to learn from. It’s a teach-yourself classroom. The driving instructor teaches you one time how to do something and if you don’t get it right he gets frustrated. If you mess up he gets annoyed and makes it obvious, he shouldn’t be teacher. He is on his phone while your driving and having conversations and yelling on the phone and he dosent pay attention to you driving. He made me stop by McDonald’s In the drive thru and order for him. He schedules peoples driving times the same time he has class. He asked me to bring a parent on the last driving day and I asked other students in that class if he asked the same and they said no. I learned nothing from that class and he knew I had no experience And didn’t teach me nothing. They asked me to sign up for segment 2 and I said no I’ll go somewhere else. save yourself the time and the money.

Negative experience: I don’t know what everyone else is talking about, because this place is the biggest scam. They show no professionalism and they don’t teach the students properly. The instructor shows no consistency and is very unorganized; he has no method of teaching and expects the students to know driving information prior to being taught it. Ultimately, you’re left going in not knowing anything and leaving not knowing anything. Also, him and his son would speak in Arabic in the middle of lessons and the students would go on “15 minute breaks” even though they had wasted an hour already on not learning anything. Even during the actual driving, the instructor would constantly be on his phone either: talking on it, watching videos, or staying on social media; all of which are very distracting. In conclusion, this place is the last place you should go to & it should be out of business.

Negative experience: This place should be considered last when deciding which school to go to. The school is very unorganized and inconsistent on a daily basis. The students were expected to complete assignments without any prior knowledge on the material. Overall, teaching methods were very ineffective and the a lot of the students left feeling like they taught themselves or weren’t taught much. I also feel like majority of these comments are fabricated by the business and/or friends of the business.

Negative experience: Idk what other people experiences were but mine was terrible. I had a man that didn’t speak fluent English and was unprofessional. The first time I met him to sign up he was nice, but he never gave his name . My first session he took me on the streets without asking if I’ve ever been (total hazard) and proceeded on the phone the whole time I was driving. May I include it was raining and dark ! Worst service EVER! Only thing I learned that night was I could drive lol my safety was in my own hands at that point .

Fantastic experience: Put both my son and daughter in this driving school. SO glad I did they are not nervous to drive and drives very well so far. The instructor took the time necessary to teach them both and gave positive feedback to the children. Absolutely a great school would recommend anyone take their courses here.

Negative experience: I took segment 2 and when I got there he said that my permit wasn't old enough even tho HE BOOKED THE DATES. He kicked me out of the building and it was dark and 17 degrees outside so I had to go camp out at the Wendy's across the street for my grandma to pick me up. DO NOT GO HERE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING!!!

Fantastic experience: Want to share a positive thing about the school. Nice staff. Instructor has very good knowledge on how to teach driving. He always keeps on giving good tips (very useful for beginners) while driving. Beginners would always feel comfortable while driving with him & is very professional. I would highly recommend to any one who wants to learn how to drive. Thanks Melad for all your help & tips!
