Fantastic experience: All recommendations for Kotra driving school. For two weeks, I studied with a great team of lecturers and instructors who selflessly impart their knowledge to the candidates. Kind and patient, from the first day I feel like a member of the family. Of course, after two weeks of training, I passed my practical CDL test with no problems.

Fantastic experience: A very good experience. A professional approach to training. The flexibility to plan your own schedule. This is not the place where you’ll get your CDL in two weeks, but it is the place where you’ll leave as a well-prepared and professional driver Thank you all. I got my CDL in 5 weeks.

Negative experience: Attending this school, They required me to sit in a class and learn the pre-trip without actually touching the inside of the the truck. They claim to have a simulator to use to memorize the the inside cab portion of pre trip however it’s nothing but a plastic model and chair to mimic the controls of the truck. They require to use the internet at first to get your permit to learn(you basically do that portion at home). Also serval political signs/verbiage about the Russian And Ukraine War spread across the school Which isn’t very appropriate and seems to be there only focus really instead of helping you get your CDL . Which is crazy seeing they charge you $4000 to $5000. Needless to say I asked for a refund and they kept $1000 which is ridiculous seeing they really didn’t do much for me! I went down the road to 160 got my CDL in about month and half and they charged me way less!
We deeply regret that you had a negative experience. However, it is hard to respond to an anonymous review since we can not examine your case. As far as your reflections, they are not completely accurate. We do have an online training resource which is used as an additional tool to help the students review the material taught in class by our instructors, and not as a substitute to classroom training. Using the models in the classroom before transitioning to actual vehicles is essential to students' safety. Once a student is familiar with critical truck components and systems to a point a student can operate them with confidence, the student is scheduled for hands-on training and gets sufficient time in actual trucks. As far as refund, it's calculated according to a student contract. All unused funds are refunded except for the prorated calculation of training received by a student. We strive to offer the best quality training to our customers and stand by our standards. However, shortcomings are possible. We take negative feedback seriously and investigate thoroughly. You are more than welcome to come in to have your case reviewed and request a further refund if it is determined that our school did not fulfil our part of the contract.

Fantastic experience: KOTRA School - школа , яка дійсно навчить вас їздити на SEMI truck , а не р просто для здачі екзамену. Також тут легко вчиться PRE-TRIP INSPECTION, є класи з агрегатами для візуального сприйняття учбового матеріалу, і головне,- достатня кількість самих траків з трейлерами для водіння. Не так , як на деяких "школах",- один трак на ярді і навколо ходить 20 учнів , що чекають своєї черги хоч би в кабіну заглянути, - не кажучи вже про керування. Дякую інструкторам та всім працівникам. Екзамен здав з першого разу та й добру роботу знайшов через декілька днів. Рекомендую.

Negative experience: In case you have an ability to go to any another driving school, use your chance and run away from here. $4k for the service that can never be offered. Working hours are not accurate. My husband was promised that school is working on Saturday, however that is the 4th time he comes there and instructor is not on place or decided to come home earlier. People that he has met there are participating the course for several years as they can not match the schedule of this facility and get propriety knowledge. It is already the 3rd month we are coming there and we can not find an instructor to pass the second theory test. Practice didn`t started. We are starting to consider a refund and finding another driving school.

Fantastic experience: I recently just graduated, and all I have to say it "WOW". The entire staff is super friendly, and very approachable when you have questions. I tend to ask a lot of questions and was worried it may annoy the instructors/teachers and they all were very helpful and knowledgeable. Only truck driving school I've ever been too and can confidently say that in my opinion, this is the best place to earn your CDL. Fantastic experience: I HIGHLY recommend going through Kotra for your CDL. I had a really great experience with Kotra. I was able to pass all my tests on my first try. Faysil and his crew of instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and very good at what they do and want to see you succeed! They're very good at working with you, your schedule, and time frame. I mainly worked with Anton, Oleg, and Daniel, but there were several others that had instructed me that are very helpful and patient. If I could give them more stars I would.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars is not even enough to give Kotra Driving School. Let's start with the comfortable environment that automatically makes you feel like "family"! The flexibility (class schedule) allows you the ability to maintain a home, work, and school life with ease. And last but NOT least- The Instructors are highly encouraging,knowledgeable, and patient. Fantastic experience: The Kotra truck driving school has a very good training strategy and studying material. All trainers do a great job and are always willing to help and answer any questions you may have throughout your whole learning process. La recomiendo porque fui a varias escuelas a pedir información y todas me decían que sino sabía Inglés no podría sacarla y cuando fui a mi ultima opción que fue Kotra y bien me acuerdo que el Dueño de la escuela me dijo”SI TU QUIERES, TU PUEDES” y me hizo sentirme en confianza a pesar de que mi inglés no era bueno y Gracias a ellos obtuve mi CDL.

Setup in school is great, great training equipment and setup inside the class room, COVID safe everything is very clean and always desinfected. Fantastic experience: I use to see this Kotra Driving School everyday when I worked at Nature Scape Lawn Care in Waukegan, Illinois in early 2021. Their trucks would drive pass my office everyday. One day I decided to call them to see about getting my CDLs and they told me to come to the school and I did. I’m a veteran so the GI Bill paid for my schooling. Thank God for the military. Anyways, Kotra Driving School is the best!!! The staff and instructors really work with you. They make sure to teach and train you the right and correct way. Scheduling classroom time is very convenient. Once you have proven good in the classroom then behind the wheel action. They call you to schedule all of your drive time everyday. Edgar, Alex, and Jeff are amazing instructors and I learned a lot from them. They never give up on you. I RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN GETTING THEIR COMMERCIAL DRIVING LICENSE (CDL)

Fantastic experience: I needed to transfer my CDL from another state to IL. I was really frustrated when I realized I have to retake all my tests again. Thank you, Illinois! I contacted this school, I was treated in the nicest manner, all people who work here are very helpful and trainers are highly qualified. I passed all tests in 1 try, thanks to Oleg, Yuri, Edgar, Daniel. Alisa does her best to help you with PTI in classroom, super nice and easy-going! Special thank to Vasiliy. Everyone is professional and motivated to reach the highest results. Yes, again, IL state law is ridiculous, but Kotra will make your transfer easier. Also highly recommend this school to new truckers due to their focus not only on required skills to pass an exam but some extra and essential knowledge such as logbook and coupling. Thanks again, Kotra!

Very knowledgeable instructors who can speak English, Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian and Polish to give you deep understanding about driving truck. You can make your own schedule to come to school. Fantastic experience: Хочу поделиться своими выводами об организации образовательного процесса и поблагодарить весь состав тренеров и инструкторов за проявленное терпение и профессиональный подход. Перед тем как приехать на обучение именно в школу Kotra я был в нескольких школах, а так же обращался к частным «помогальщикам и тренерам» которые предоставляют услуги по подготовке в сдаче теории и практики. Но мой выбор остановился именно на этой школе, приехав в первый день для того что б увидеть своими глазами условия обучения и поговорить с владельцем школы я увидел что у них очень грамотно выстоен процесс обучения, от самых азов до момента пока студент начнёт чувствовать себя уверенно на дороге, его ведут и контролируют каждый шаг. Для вождения так же выделяется такое количество часов сколько студенту потребуется. Вообщем сравнив с тем что я видел до этого я принял решения обучаться именно в этой школе. Инструктора говорят на многих языках, что очень важно! Рекомендую школу Kotra как одну из лучших в Illinois.

Fantastic experience: Kotra is a serious place. If you have the desire, they will provide the means. Took me about 6 weeks to get my CDL Class A license. Got a job within 3 weeks from their job board. Kotra worked out for me.
