Fantastic experience: Mrs.Amanda was absolutely amazing to drive with. Super chill. Rather then yelling at you after making a mistake she teaches you how to not make it again.

Negative experience: Your instructor is rude and does not practice safe driving (tailgating and speeding) when driving by themselves

Fantastic experience: Class act all the way! The instructors are well equipped to work with all the different types of students they receive. The owner (Kim P) takes the time to pair students thoughtfully with the on the road driver. Very responsive to calls, emails and texts. Highly recommend! And it is surrounded by a cookie store and cheesecake store! Makes waiting for your teen's class to end very enjoyable (and delicious).

Fantastic experience: Excel did a wonderful job preparing our daughter for being a good driver! Miss Amanda was the perfect person to help her with her in person driving as she was calm, knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging. Our daughter became a great driver with her help, and she is prepared to drive off on her own.

Fantastic experience: My daughter attended this driving school and it was just what she needed. She learned all the necessary skills and was able to pass her driving test the day after her Sweet 16. What a wonderful present and accomplish for herself. Amanda was awesome and very accommodating with her driving schedule. Definitely would recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a total of 17 driving lessons with Amanda Santiago! By far the BEST instructor ever hands down!! I came into excel knowing how not to drive ,hand over hand and lane changes plus everything else that comes with driving. 17 lessons later and today on December 23rd 2024 I passed my BTW test at the Naperville DMV! Amanda was able to really bring up my confidence with my driving and she helped me really understand what I was doing and why I was doing it! She made driving very fun and super personable! If I did not understand something right away we would work on it until I felt confident and didn’t need step by step walk throughs anymore. Thanks to Amanda I feel VERY confident behind the wheel and not scared anymore like I used to 3 years ago. Best driving school hands down!! Get Amanda if you can, she will change your life!! If I could give excel 100 stars I would!

Fantastic experience: The school was very easy to work with. They picked my daughter up a our house for her drives which was very helpful. My daughter is a confident driver and enjoyed her time with her teacher, Amanda.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had Amanda Santiago as her instructor. She was great! Patient, friendly, helpful, kind and respectful. Our daughter has learned so much in a small amount of time. From her first drive, she made my daughter feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. She was also punctual, professional, and genuinely invested in her progress. Our daughter got her license yesterday and couldn't have done better and couldn't have done it without Amanda. If there's an instructor we would recommend, it's her. The Excel workers and classroom teachers are all excellent and kind hearted people and are always there to help!

When it came to the road test and scheduling kim helped immensely. This place was an absolute blessing. It was well worth the investment for me to get behind the wheel. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a driving school.

His driving instructor was Amanda, he said that she was the best and helped him a lot while driving behind the wheel, giving tips and tricks on how to do certain things. Overall Excel is an amazing place to take your child to learn how to drive.

Negative experience: This place is an absolute joke. My child attended classes here. The instructors demanded the students provide gift cards in exchange for the privilege of using notes on exams, even going so far as to specify which gift cards they would accept. Not only is this unethical, but it teaches students that academic advantages can be bought rather than earned. It also discriminates against students that can’t afford such gifts! My child also had a negative experience with one of the instructors. During a drive, the instructor screamed at my child and belittled them for asking a question. We were able to get a different instructor for subsequent drives, but the unstable individual that worked with my child is clearly in the wrong profession. I would encourage anyone looking for a driving school to look elsewhere!

Fantastic experience: My daughter loved this driving school and loved the staff. Her driving really progressed while working with them, especially Amanda Santiago. She said she was very patient and kind with her while driving.

Fantastic experience: This was a great driving school for me I was very nervous to drive but the instructor Amanda Santiago was very patient with me and never made me feel nervous. I was done with the classes in one month and the drives are very easy to schedule.

Fantastic experience: This was our third teen to go through Excel, and as always Ms Kim was an amazing classroom teacher. This was our first experience with Amanda for behind the wheel and she was also wonderful! We will return to Excel for our 4th teen.

She’ll make you keep trying and guide you through every step. She also walks you through the actual drivers test and gives you tips. Negative experience: Took multiple attempts to get in touch with anyone. We were assigned an instructor who NEVER returned our calls. They then assigned a second instructor who had no availability. Finally were able to finish the program after being assigned to a third instructor. We will not being using them for our younger son.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had Mr Tim in the beginning of her course, he was amazing instructor, gave her great feed back and boosted her confidence. Then she finished her behind the wheel with Mrs Amanda, who was also very direct and gave her many positive tips on her driving skills in different weather conditions, around the inside roads and highway.

With everything being a moving target with COVID-19 regulations, they kept us very well informed and had everyone's safety in mind as they worked to have the best learning environment possible to prepare new drivers to be safe on the roads also. Fantastic experience: With all the craziness going on in the world and businesses closing, schools and drivers education being put on hold, The staff at Excel did everything they could to get my sons hours in before hiss birthday, Thank you for the extra steps you took to make his 16th bday very special. He was able to get his DL on his birthday because of the staff dedication to your students!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Excel! The classes were well run and started/ended on time. We were able to make adjustments to a class that we needed to adjust due to a sports conflict with simple communication with the instructor. Our instructor, Miss Kim (Plainfield location) was outstanding! She worked with our daughter to get drives scheduled and went above and beyond to ensure she could get her drives in before her birthday after much was delayed due to the pandemic. She put my new driver at ease and helped her improve in the areas she needed help. Additionally Excel piloted a new program that allowed our child to take the State driving road test during our final behind-the-wheel session which was outstanding! Overall it was a great experience and my daughter is a happily licensed driver now.

Fantastic experience: Loved the whole experience. My driver instructors, Dawn, Susan, and Ms. Kim were all terrific and very helpful.

Negative experience: Overpriced for what you get. I expected to get better instruction than what I was getting from friends but it was exactly the same, so it's not worth the approximately 60 dollars an hour in my opinion. I made no progress in my skills with two hours. Lessons feel a bit rushed and one lesson I was only given 43 minutes instead of the hour I paid for. The cars also don't have the full drivers ed setup so once again, I could get similar instruction with a random car.
