Negative experience: The Traffic School course for Oregon is easy to follow, easy to do at your own pace all at once or over a few days. The content has some challenges where they really step outside the lines of making safer drivers. For example, they claim things like: "If possible, try never to drive alone" because you might get carjacked; if you are having anxious thoughts you should just tell those thoughts to stop; and in the section on parking lot assaults "If possible, always shop with a companion." Why does traffic school even have a section on parking lot assaults?

Fantastic experience: This was a great experience overall- I recommend it and gained a lot from it. The one thing I think was off is that it's claim that auto collisions are the number one cause of death among children and teens in the U.S., but that factor has been surpassed by gun violence today, so that bit needs to be updated. Thank you, great program!

Negative experience: Outdated and incorrect information. ALL three of the questions I got wrong on the test were because of their typos and old statistics. One of them was “a drunk driver with a BAC equal to 0.8% is 25 times more likely to have a collision than a driver who is sober.” (Sorry, no… that dude died still sitting on the barstool.) Drowsy Driving leads to closer to 27% of deaths. (2x more than 13%). And the vast majority of cars on the road don’t need their oil changes every 3,000 miles. The program punishes students that are able to read and comprehend quickly. I spent at least 75% of the time coloring while waiting for the timer to count down and allow me to progress to the next section. Some sections had me waiting for over 12 minutes. It felt like I was back in high school with a teacher hovering over me shrilly screaming “No one can read that fast! You can’t possibly have different skills and strengths than I do!!!” *Editing to respond to NTSI’s total rejection of any accountability regarding their program: They replied with the same incorrect info and then blamed the state. (They claim 3,000 miles per oil change is average. Average age of the cars in the state is around 13 years. That’s a 6,000-7,000 mile recommendation for that age of vehicle.) Trustworthy companies go: “oh, I made a mistake? Let me look into that.” These guys went defensive and tried to make me look dumb… and make it my problem to contact the state to have their testing changed. Other programs are also approved by the state and don’t have the clock. I wish I had done more research instead of typing in the address the court provided. There are SO many other options. I strongly suggest doing traffic school elsewhere so you don’t get yourself or others hurt by trusting their outdated statistics, drink too much and drive, or add to your car maintenance bills. You also might learn more about the rules of the road and laws elsewhere… I spent way more time learning about permits and licensing for teen drivers and basic emotional regulation. “Picture a calm place and you’ll be calm!” I paid to have them educate me. All I learned about is another unethical company what wants to blame their customers for their shoddy product.
Hi Erin, the statistical data in our course is vetted and approved by the state, if you got the question wrong, it's because your answer didn't agree with the state approved data. 3,000 miles is still the standard oil change interval for a majority % of cars on the road. As for the timer, that is a state mandated clock based on the average reading speed that the state requires the course to be delivered in. NTSI has no ability to change that, the only way for that to change is if consumers like yourself complain to the state authority that administers driving safety courses. NTSI and most other course provider have asked repeatedly to do away with the state mandated timers but we don't have the power to do anything about unfortunately. We thank you for choosing NTSI.
Negative experience: VERY POOR. Having to wait up to 9 minutes after the completion of a section is absurd. For traffic infractions, the course should not cover licensing. Especially commercial. Some aspects were silly or out of date. Check oil, fan belts, etc before each use. I missed 1 question; Change oil ever 3,000 miles. Where have you been? The course shed a very poor light on the perception of government efficiency/ reality. I am actually in favor of having to complete an on-line course prior to renewing your driver's license, concentrating on new laws, road signs, striping, commonly ignored rules of the road, etc.

Positive experience: Somebody with some computer skills needs to get in there and correct the way that some of the answers get answered because when it has multiple right answers and then marks you wrong for clicking on each of them that's a mistake on the test structures side and then if it it allows you to click on all of them and also has an answer that says all of the above and it marks you wrong because you clicked all of the ones that were above plus the olive above and it marks you wrong for that that is a mistake on the test side it needs to be corrected by somebody that knows how to go in and do that. Other than that a lot of the statistics that it gives are outdated for this year but I guess you can't probably update everything for the actual year that it is and there is a lot of information that is redundant and repetitive. I do a lot of online courses and there's always flaws that need to be fixed. One I would say you should email the course completion to a person. You want everybody that's ever got a speeding ticket to have word docs where they can download it and print it out I think that's asking a lot. And for the simple gesture of we paid a fee for the course you should send us the piece of paper that we need to turn in. All in all I think the course itself is informative easy to follow just some technical issues with the testing. One of which was when I took my test it wouldn't let me submit and then I asked for help and the lady said that I had failed but it never even submitted and then I went in the next morning after hearing from the person that is there to help and answer things exactly the same way as I did the second time I took the test and I got something is wrong on the technical side and you need to have a computer person work on that. And if I'm the only one letting you know that's because I have experience with it but where I work are online courses we have a person that fixes flaws in the system so maybe I'm the only one that expects it to work properly.
Yesterday in the chat it wasn't understood when you asked if we sent a copy of your results while speaking of failing the test that you meant a completion certificate. It was thought you meant a copy of the actual test results. After reading your review, we understand that you would like a copy of your certificate emailed to you which has been done and is never a problem. We try to do whatever our students need within the rules of the state. If you have any other specific errors, we would love to know about them. We are constantly updating course content for our many nationwide courses. Unfortunately, when a question has a choice (correct answer) "all of the above" that is the only answer that would be correct, but the system will give you the option to click multiple answers because let's say A and B are correct and not C. You are also correct in saying that course content is a time consuming endeavor and you may not be aware that it needs to be sent to the state, reviewed and approved. Unfortunately, that does leave statistics behind a bit. I do think that statistical trends, whether current or a few years old, lend to the main goal of creating safer drivers, therefore safer roads. Fantastic experience: Very easy to navigate. It was also reasonably priced (I believe like $44). The only thing I didn't care for is that it has a timed amount that you have to stay on the page (I am a fast reader).

Fantastic experience: Very easy to navigate pages and the information is broken up into very digestible chunks. I did not like the page timers (you had to wait to go to the next page even if you finished reading the material sooner) but I've never done traffic school in Oregon and that may be a state requirement. Overall, I was still happy with choosing NTSI, especially since their price beat every other option available.

Fantastic experience: Very informative, great reminders of things I did not know or had long forgotten. I found the course exceptional at pinpointing all the factors, especially the stress of driving, ho our worries, stressors & attitudes impact our driving. I passed test 1st go round, but made 3 mistakes, 2 of which were not ready the question carefully enough, choosing opposite the right answer for not reading it close enough. the waiting period was slight bother, but I just answered Email will clock wound down. Fantastic experience: Simple and straightforward. I learned a few things, reinforced alot I already knew, made some interesting connections, and added the science of fact. Positive experience: This test #1 was intense because I didn't know how many FACTS I would have to remember through all the readings. It took me 3 days off and on to finish. Nevertheless, I learned a lot and also I knew a lot too. e.g. It is advisable to honk the horn when passing a vehicle or when backing out of a parking spot. WTG NTSI! Positive experience: I was referred to the test site due to a traffic violation and was a bit surprised to find the course quite useful. It is well organized, easy to follow, and has some really good information and advice in it. The strict timing of the segments was a little annoying, as I often finished well before the time was up, but I understand why. Good work, NTSI.

Negative experience: They literally make you sit on a section that you read and completed in 2 minutes for fifteen minutes. Be prepared to waste literal hours on something that could be done in 15
Hi Andrew, the times that students must remain on a certain section are set by state regulations and are not NTSI's choice or responsibility. We know it's frustrating for students with a faster reading style and learning rate to have to accept a state-imposed slower pace, but it's unfortunately out of NTSI or any other course provider's control.

Positive experience: Easy process of sign up and explanation of process. Thankful for having this option available to be to defer a citation. I’m giving less stars because I found a couple of the test questions to be “trick” questions, leaving too much variance for interpretation.

Fantastic experience: Much better course than I expected. A few things seemed a little outdated yet still overall a good learning experience. Provided examples with specific information about things I have pondered over in the past. For example, if your BAC is .215 at 2 am and you go to bed, most people would still be considered legally impaired (over .1) at or beyond noon the next day - 10 hours later! They also laid out really well, in fractions of a second, all of the things that happen during the impact of crash if you were driving 35 miles per hour and hit a stopped vehicle. People have been hurt and even killed when pets or other objects that were kept loose in the car turned into "missiles" travelling at 35 mph. They touched on a lot of topics and at least for me, it was not boring. In fact, I think something like this course should probably be required to obtain or renew your license.

Fantastic experience: I took the course because of a speeding ticket. The class was convenient as you could take anytime and cut it up into whatever size you want. I’ve been driving for many years but this class showed me where some bad habits could be improved. Practical advice that can improve your driving skills. I’m glad I took this class! Fantastic experience: This is not something anyone should aim to want to have to give a review for, but if a person finds themself in a position of having received a traffic traffic ticket and you have been a good driver and don't want this to go on your record this is an excellent way to avoid that. In addition, the course is excellent and it taught me things that I either didn't know or had forgotten even though I have been driving for years. I am not sure if people can take the course without having first gotten a driving ticket, but I think it would be an excellent course for high school and even college students to be required to take before being given a drivers license. Excellent course!

Negative experience: A lot of questions in the final exam didn’t match the material in the course. The allotted time in the section gets a little old. If you are a fast reader go through the whole thing and before taking the final go back and read the whole thing at your pace. Then take the final.

Fantastic experience: I thought the program and the layout of the data was great. the only part I did not like was I was only allowed to use the computer that I initially registered for the class on. I registered from my work computer and it did not allow me to continue the class on my home computer. Other than that, great course.

Fantastic experience: This was a very informative and user friendly course to take, The nominal cost of utilizing the audio reading was totally worth the cost. I especially appreciated being able to stop and start the course as I took a couple of days to complete it. It was the least expensive course available but of fine quality, did not feel rote and the "interaction" of the presentation kept me focused.

Positive experience: Great experience using the course, only thing I noticed is some of the information in the modules is outdated. For example, the LoJack resource is only available to existing customers in the U.S., they are not taking orders anymore as of last year.

Positive experience: Overall the course was a good one, though sometimes repetitive. Probably on purpose. My only real complaint is the test. The first time I took the test I failed. When looking at the results I noticed that questions I'd marked as true, the test result indicated that I marked them as false and vice versa. This would have made the difference between me failing and passing. The second time I took the test I wrote down all my answers as to whether true or false. I passed with 84%, but it should have been 100%. Again, 4 questions that I had marked true or false the test results had indicated that I marked the opposite. When I marked true it was indicated I marked false, etc. I hope you can fix this glitch.

Fantastic experience: My experience taking the NTSI Idaho Traffic Level 1 Online course was great! I actually learned a lot of unexpected knowledge and enjoyed going through the course. I took over 5 pages of notes, and those turned out to be useful for the test at the end. My only complaint would be the hold times on each module were, at times, excessive but I do understand having to put those on there since most people would just click through to get to the test right away. Overall, glad I took it! Thank you, NTSI.

Fantastic experience: I took this course as a diversion to a speeding ticket I received. I found the material presented to be relevant, timely and informative. It was not difficult and I found the DUI statistics surprising. I was a career Paramedic Firefighter who started my career before Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Which I felt made a huge impact on the number of times I had to get up in the middle of the night for alcohol related motor vehicle accidents. I see from your statistics, we still have a long way to go. Worthwhile course!

Fantastic experience: I found this course very informative. I especially liked the information on driver attitude. This portion spoke to me as I am currently driving more express way driving than I have in the last 50 years of my life.

Negative experience: When it came to checking my test results the wrong answer was marked in green and the correct answer was Marked red so. I took that as a computer error and kept on answering the questions the same thinking it was changing my answer for some reason I think it would be better if the wrong answer was red and the right answer was Green
