Fantastic experience: Excel driver services in the springs has a great team. They made sure I had ample amount of driving time before I was tested. The coaches take the time to teach you the proper way to drive so that when you graduate and get your license you are comfortable on the road!

Fantastic experience: I’m glad I found this place. Other schools have you grouped up with like 10 other students, excel only puts 1-2 other drivers with you so that you can ask as many questions as you need. The trainers are super friendly and knowledgeable. The trucks are clean and taken care of

Negative experience: It’s a good school to attend to obtain your CDL. Some instructors were very professional and a few were not. The instructor I had was trying to act more like a father than an instructor the way he was talking to me and a few leaders. Not a fan because people make mistakes but you should always keep it professional and understanding that this is brand new to us all. Another thing I felt unprofessional was that we were being rushed to obtain our licenses in less than two weeks. All in all tho it was ok. Glad I received better understanding from other instructors like Pete and others to obtain my license.

Negative experience: They ripped me off for $475. The tester didn't want to show me the paper as to why I failed the pre trip. Then he proceeded to try to sell me on a class for the skills test! They are greedy and shouldn't be in charge of people's livelihood!

Negative experience: Very disappointed and flat out lied to of drive time behind wheel. The picture I posted is their website saying 15 hours for the 3500 dollars I paid then I was told 10 but clearly they advertise 15. I received maybe 2. On top of that my instructor was on the phone 50 percent of the time during my training because he was having problems at home not my problem I paid to be trained. I would not recommend I have a family to support and scheduled maybe 6 months in advance and literally felt like I was robbed of my hard earned money. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Overall, good school to get your CDL A/B. Some of the instructors are definitely more well rounded than others, however, the owner (Jason) seemed to have noticed and is taking corrective actions. Jason is a professional and encouraging person. He truly cares about the students and his program. I had the privilege of having Jessi as my instructor. In my opinion he is the best instructor that they have. He is passionate about what he does and truly cares about his students. He will go above and beyond for his students. Thank you for all you do. You are the man, Jessi!!!

Negative experience: Very unrealistic expectations. Didn't get much drive time to really learn gear shifting, similar to the offset backing aspect. Also, Kenny was not the most patient instructor and was quite rude if I may add. Ended up not passing the test both times but tested out in my home state and passed with flying colors and earned my CDL at the local DMV. I guess this school was only good for the classroom aspect of meeting the new federal ELDT requirements. I personally wouldn't recommend them as a school though.

Fantastic experience: I had an exceptional experience at Excel Driving CDL School in Henderson, Colorado! Jesse, my instructor, was absolutely fantastic. His strong focus on the theoretical aspects of driving really set me up for success. He explained everything thoroughly, making sure I understood the 'why' behind each concept, which was invaluable during the testing process.The entire office staff was incredibly helpful as well. They were always available to answer questions, assist with scheduling, and provide support throughout the training. The testing team was also top-notch, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.Thanks to the dedicated and professional team at Excel Driving, I passed my CDL test with flying colors. I highly recommend this school to anyone serious about getting their CDL!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience with excellent instructors.

Negative experience: This school instructor’s are a combination of professionals who have good work ethics and very rude, humiliating and lazy stuffs. I don’t understand why they asks who is paying for your CDL training. Thus they would treat you accordingly. And the instructors don’t follow your progress or note from previous sessions. Probably it depends on who is paying. It doesn’t make sense to switch trucks for a student before mastering 8 gears (kenworth ) to 10 gears peterbilt and make them drive in hills and curves. READ NOTES AND ALLOW MORE TRAINING ACCORDINGLY. Finally they don’t have Automatic transmission options in case if one wants to switch. Many other smaller schools have that option. And the time frame is only 9 days and there will be test on the 10th session. Even if they know you need more time they don’t care and will make you fail. This was my observation!!

Positive experience: If it weren't for Kenny the instructor, this experience would have been amazing. Unfortunately my instructor was not very good at his job. Hounded me and my classmates about everything as if we were already professional. Never felt comfortable and really wish I could have been assigned a different trainer.

You want to learn and get experience with driving commercial vehicles? This is it. I would recommend anyone and everyone to Excel Driver Services. Even Athena and Maria are helpful as can be with setting you up with DPS appointments or employment opportunities. Want your CDL? What are you guys waiting for, get with EXCEL! They’ll take care of you and show you the ropes. 10 out of 10 don’t listen to the negative reviews. Find out for yourself. It’s all what you make of it and it’s all up to you at the end of each and every day. They’ll teach you. If you’re willing to learn and take it all in, is up to you.

Negative experience: Some of the rudest,inept individuals I've encountered in a long time. When you charge luxury car brand level prices, I expect the service to come with. Instead I find myself in a McDonalds drive through with my order wrong to boot. Only to have you tell me that it's my fault it's wrong.

Fantastic experience: Excel Driver Services is a great school here in San Antonio Tx. It was an amazing experience. I already had my permit before I started school so I got a head start on the rest of my class. Got my Class A CDL License with no restrictions in just 10 days (Including sat and sun which we were off). Instructors were patient and a great sense of humor.

Fantastic experience: This is a great group of people who truly work as a team. I saw nothing but comradery and passion. My boy RUSS was incredible to work along side with. He was serious when he had to be but also kept the mood light with banter throughout the day. He made sure we were all ready for the test! We all tested out that week!

I am glad that I listened to him the people here are excellent they know their stuff we even had a short two weeks because of the holiday and their teaching was excellent enough to educate us In just about 8 days of training. Fantastic experience: I was sent to this school in May of 2022 by Halliburton, every instructor I dealt with was helpful and knowledgeable. They took care to ensure we were getting the practice we needed in the areas we were weak in while still covering all necessary areas to pass our exams. I have recommended this CDL school to numerous people since.

Fantastic experience: Best CDL driving school experience. All the instructors are well aware of different learning styles and simple ways to get the information out. There are several different instructors and they are all open to helping each and every person who goes through the program, all I can say is if anyone fails after taking this class, they refused to make the effort or communicate.

Negative experience: Some of their stuff are very carrying and really knowledgeable but some of them don't care at all. Don't hesitate to choose who is best for you. If not you won't like the shouting and yelling. It's a two weeks training program before the driving test thus if you are not sure you can master driving MANUAL CDL CLASS A big truck in TWO weeks window time this school is not for you ( 5000 is lost). Every one is expected and they are not willing to work with your progress.

Negative experience: When I was testing the tester tried to get me to give him 200 dollars cash to pass my test when I said I didn't have it he failed me saying I did not give the right kind of details DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

Negative experience: When I went to this school the instructors did not know their pre trip inspection. Also I was getting taught single clutch/ floating. You need double clutch to pass the test. They are super rude and incredibly disrespectful and lazy. These are all fake reviews. Good luck

Negative experience: Was really looking forward to working with this place. Until I needed to switch my appointment date which I already put a deposit down for. Then was told I have to put another deposit down. And was basically laughed at when trying to change dates. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Great company! I just received my CDL-A here. The trainers, staff, and owner are all awesome. They gave me all the tools, confidence, and experience that I needed to pass the driving test. This is an exceptional school with exceptional people who run it. I highly recommend them. Side note: I loved the beautiful dogs in the office, these kind dogs definitely add to the atmosphere.

Negative experience: This school has many issues. I don't recommend it at all unless you want to just keep throwing money away. (TL;DR at the bottom) - The trucks are not well maintained and generally are 16 years old. Every truck has it's own nuances and issues that you have to contend and learn with, on the fly. It can make learning to drive these trucks more difficult. Alignment issues, seats are very worn/broken, clutch problems, loose shifter makes it hard to find gears, a couple trucks have broken driver doors, lucky if the heater actually works, etc. - They don't clean these trucks, so don't expect it to be anywhere near "covid" cleanliness standards. Especially the steering wheels. Masks aren't required, so most don't wear one. Was in a truck, sitting next to another student that was coughing consistently that never even covered his mouth. - If you're allergic to dogs... well... just be aware that in the building, dogs tend to have free reign as some staff members bring their dogs to work. - Actual behind the wheel time, is about 30-40 minutes per day. When I joined the school, it was only 10 days long. This also makes it difficult to learn how to properly shift in these older manual transmission (double-clutch) trucks. - The rest of the time is mainly spent doing backing maneuvers (3-4 hours per day), and you're spending most of those hours just waiting for a turn, as there are normally only 2 trucks available for a group of 8+ people. I spent far more time doing backing maneuvers than actual driving, and most of that time was just waiting around for a turn. - You are only guided through each "lesson" twice. Then you're basically on your own to learn and figure it out for yourself. The students helped eachother on backing maneuvers the rest of the time, while the instructors sat in their vehicles. - We were shown and practiced "Alley Dock" backing maneuver... once. The rest of the days, we were just doing "Offset" and Parallel parking. Yet, "Alley Dock" could be on your test. I kept asking if we were going to practice this maneuver for several days in a row and we never did, eventhough the cones were set up for it. - Due to the very little actual behind the wheel time, I was having difficulty with the downshifting. I had asked if there was anything I can do to get more driving time and... it was dismissed or forgotten about. - I asked if they would teach us how to hookup and unhook trailers. They said yes. We never did. - Tested on "in-cab" inspections every day with an instructor. Yet, they showed us outside inspection twice, then left us to do it on our own for the rest of the 7 days. Most of the time, we didn't have time to do a full outside inspection. They just told us to do a quick visual inspection and get going. - I wasn't lucky enough to have an employer pay for my course. I paid $5,000 out of my own pocket, draining my savings to nothing, to be in broken trucks and hardly any driving time at all, during the 10 day course. - The retest schedule is unusually long. Normal testing is usually done on Fridays. However, Monday-Saturday, are averaging 6-8 retests per day! It's a very high failure rate. - Fail your retest, that's when they start charging you to do subsequent retests. Hundreds of dollars every time with a minimum of $275 (minus the truck rental fee). - You aren't taught what exactly to expect on the final driving test. - Trying to test in a truck that you haven't practiced in, with gear problems when shifting and not knowing it's nuances, will murder your score and make you fail. _____________________________________ TL:DR - $5,000, 10 hours per day, for 10 days, with a high failure and retest rate. - The trucks need some severe maintenance repair and are 16 years old with non-syncronized transmissions. - Behind the wheel driving is about 30-40 minutes per day as you spend most of the time waiting for your turn. - Backing maneuvers are 3-4 hours per day, with a huge majority of time spent waiting for your turn. I don't think this school is worth the cost and I am royally angry at all this B.S.

Fantastic experience: I had an awesome experience with all the instructors at Excel Driver Services. They were all patient and attentive to my questions and in demonstrations. With the rookie students they are very good at easing anxiety and tension that city traffic can bring out when other drivers do unpredictable and ignorant maneuvers.

I would like to share something that happened to me at a so called school in Loveland Colorado called: Randy Lopez I payed over $4300 dollars with there promise that i would walk out from there school with my class A driver license and they just took my money and left empty handed. So I called up Exel and made an appointment After second time i took my test and passed. I was very impressed with there knowledge and experience. I truly recommend this school.
