Positive experience: My instructor was an absolute 10 (not even a 5) she was patient, knowledgeable, and direct. Ms. Shavoka made me feel comfortable and confident in my ability to navigate the road in a safer more intentional manor. Scheduling classes was easy using BoomMyDrive. System super user friendly and schedules are available almost every where including Saturday. They pick you up and drop you off seamlessly. The customer service on the other hand when dealing with the office was hit or miss which is the only reason for the 4. When I had to reschedule over the phone was easy to do and agent super helpful. When I called about the completion certificate it took 3 calls and misinformation provided on 2 of the 3. Neither were friendly and seemed irritated because I called. Unfortunately because of the end of the experience it was a 4 rather than a 5.

Fantastic experience: My name is Saniyah and my instructor was Ms Shavoka. I was completely nervous to even get in the drivers seat but she helped me become comfortable with driving and parking. Truly a good learning experience she was so patient and helpful.

Negative experience: STEER CLEAR!!! Unreliable and unsafe: Instructor literally fell asleep during my lesson!!! I am a 29-year-old licensed driver with no criminal record who had not driven a car in seven years. I signed up for six hours of lessons with A-1 in order to relearn how to drive prior to purchasing my first car after moving out of state by the end of the month. I only had driving experience in my home state of Alaska and have never driven in a bustling urban environment like Atlanta, so I was nervous about my lessons. My first instructor, Barbarella, fell asleep roughly fifteen minutes into our two-hour lesson. After I pulled out of the parking lot at my apartment complex, Barbarella turned on the radio. After so many years not driving, I didn't want the added distraction of the radio. I politely asked if I could turn the radio off for that reason. Barbarella said that I could turn it off, but added, "It keeps me awake." I incorrectly assumed that she was exaggerating or joking about that. Barbarella scrolled on her phone for awhile, as she did for the vast majority of the two-hour lesson. About ten minutes after I turned the radio off, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that she had put her phone down on her lap and had gone quiet and started breathing heavily. When I stopped the car at a stop light, I looked directly at her and her eyes were closed. She was asleep. I was shocked. I remembered what she said about the radio and immediately turned the radio on. This caused her to wake up and return to alertness. Despite my discomfort, I kept the radio on until the lesson was over, afraid she might fall asleep again. I didn't say anything to her about it because I was so surprised and embarrassed, and I don't like confrontation. I hoped that I had simply had a bad driving instructor and still wished to complete the remaining set of two two-hour lessons to get my money's worth out of the experience, so I called A-1 and they kindly rescheduled me with a different instructor. However, they never asked what had gone wrong with my lesson, which struck me as odd -- as if they're used to having to do this. I felt obligated to call them back a few days later in order specifically complain about my experience with Barbarella because I felt I had a responsibility to notify them of her dangerous behavior. I was reached out to via email to describe my experience, and I did, but nothing ever came of it -- no offers of a refund, no apology, nothing. The following week, I waited for my new driving instructor to arrive at the scheduled time. He never did. I waited for an hour just to be sure, but he neither arrived nor contacted me about being late or needing to reschedule. At this point I was fed up with A-1 and didn't want to waste any more time or money on such an unreliable experience. I called A-1 and asked for a refund for that lesson and to cancel the remaining one, and they said they would comply and issue one. Two weeks later they still had not done so. When I called again, they argued with me and insisted that my driver had shown up, despite all empirical evidence to the contrary. They said they would refund me but only after charging me a $30 cancellation fee for the two lessons that never happened. I was livid. All of this was inconvenient and stressful for me, but I cannot help but imagine how much worse things have been if I was, for example, a parent scheduling lessons for my teenaged child, or somebody taking valuable time off work or other important obligations in order to take a lesson only for the instructor to be a no-show. In conclusion: do not pay this company your hard-earned money or give them your time. Google reviews for this place swing positive but check other review sites to see a clearer picture. Do your research and learn from my mistake.

She provided feedback on the items my son needed to work on and provided resources to help. We will be booking more time to polish up on the areas identified. Thank you for your time.

She was able to correct multiple mistakes that I made on the road and during the parking sessions. She also let me know ahead of time when she would come to pick me up. Negative experience: do noy use this school- i recommend 1 Act Driving School instead. I signed up for a defensive driving course (which never said anything on the booking page about it being online) through the suggestion of my lawyer. i paid, drove an hour and 15 minutes to the school after leaving work early just to arrive to an empty parking lot & locked door. i called numerous times and left numerous voicemails while checking my email to see if i was missing a link or something to no avail. i freaked out as i was on a time restraint so i ended up having to book another class and pay more money to get the class done. in the following days i called multiple times & left multiple more voicemails & big surprise i still to this day have heard nothing back. i disputed the charge just for them to not respond to the claim in the time frame provided after numerous reach out attempts from my bank which resulted in me not getting my money back because of the merchants lack of communication which seems to be a common theme. the school knows i was not in the class as i never was able to attend neither in person nor through any virtual classroom and they are withholding money i worked hard for because they dropped the ball. they operate with poor business practices and try to pass on their mistakes & lack of follow up as the customers issue. i would love for someone to contact me and resolve this issue but i won’t hold my breath. i am filing a claim with the BBB & the attorney generals office as well and will continue to escalate it until the money i work hard for and was essentially scammed out of is returned. take your business somewhere else that is more organized and cares more about their customers such as 1 Act. quick response times & they made the entire process easy for me so that my license could remain in good standing and i could continue to operate as normal

Fantastic experience: Ms. Shavoka was my driving instructor. She was great at teaching me the tricks to mastering parallel and reverse parking and was extremely personable and humorous! She provided great critiques on my driving and encouraged me throughout our lessons together. Would take her again for sure!

Fantastic experience: First time with Ms.Shavoka as my instructor and she is really helpful and easy to be comfortable around. She is fast about correcting your mistakes and informs you how you could avoid making those same mistakes as you're driving. In the end, she would tell you what you would need to get better at. She isn’t a person who would get mad and yell at you for messing up. Overall, I loved having her as an instructor.

Negative experience: If you are taking the DUI Risk Reduction course online you better stay on top of actually getting the certificate at the end that you paid for! I had to wait a whole week to finally track someone down to have my certificate sent? Like really? No problem getting the bill but the certificate? I had to jump through hoops only to be told it was an oversight on their part! Really? Bad business not following up to make sure everyone got what they paid for and spent three days attending!

Fantastic experience: Ms.Tinna has gone above and beyond when it comes to teaching. She gives steps, explains, and INSTRUCTS to the point where you can understand no matter who you are. She is an absolutely wonderful teacher with a great personality. If you're picking someone, pick Ms Tinna, you will NOT be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: My First day of driving lessons went well. My driving instructor, Ms. Shavoka, was very informative and easy going. While on the road, she continued to give me helpful tips and advice, so I can make micro adjustments on the road. The two hours were great, however on my end I have things to improve upon such as turning,slowing down,etc. fortunately I’m super confident in my ability, and confident in my instructor for the remaining lessons we have!

Positive experience: My instructor, Ms. Shavoka, was an amazing instructor! She was very patient with me and allowed me to be comfortable while driving, while also correcting and helping me clean up any mistakes I made. For a person who doesn’t get a lot of practice in and gets scared at times when making mistakes, I was able to stay calm and confident. I know that if anything serious was to happen, that I was well safe and protected, so I praise God. Communications with her was good and she didn’t make me feel stressed at all. She was cool but also assertive in her words to let me know how serious it is to always pay attention. She also told me that I am not just driving for myself but for everyone else, so there is no time for games on the road. I am happy that I was paired up with Ms. Shavoka and would love to have her again.

Positive experience: Learning from Markeith, first day needed to warm up to him, second lesson was great. He gave me a lot of autonomy on the vehicle by the end of 4 hrs training, which is important to learn. Looking forward to next 3 lessons, will keep you all posted how they go. ADD-ON: Would not recommend Markeith as your instructor. Have had 5 lessons with Markeith now. Gave my driving test yesterday and barely passed. WASN'T FEELING GREAT. I realize now that I hadn't learnt to make parking judgements on my own when I was with him. Got so many points docked off in the test because I felt I was parking on my own literally for the first time. Markeith gives you autonomy on the actual roads, but I did not really learn parking. By lesson 5 I was told I was doing great and was ready for the test, but I made SOOO many MISTAKES, some because of nerves, but some because I had not been corrected in the right places (my test turns were still too wide but I wasn't told during my lessons, I also haven't learnt how to emergency stop). To his merit, he makes you dive straight into driving. I have never driven before, so I have learnt a lot in just 10hrs. My thanks to him for that. This is constructive criticism, so that the next student reading this and taking him can tell him to please let them learn to make their best judgements

The schedule was long but he made the time go by. The class did not make you feel ashamed or expose your situation. Any issues that arise it was resolved in a timely manner. Fantastic experience: My son has his first session with Ms. Shavoca yesterday. He stated she made him feel comfortable and gave really great instructions from beginning to end. She communicated ahead of time to me on her in route status to pick him up and provided detailed notes on what they will work on for the next session. I definitely recommend her at A1 driving!!

Negative experience: Would not recommend the virtual class. My class was delayed two days which I had already taken off work. 10am-7pm so I had to miss now days when the class finally did get back on track. I was constantly given misinformation. Horrible experience. And false response to my review.. All my paperwork was finished days before the class begun and I was repeatedly told I'd be able to access the class on the day agreed upon. Unfortunately I was not given an access code until two days later, as previously stated. I called multiple times/multiple days and each employee told me that they would serve the access code and never did.
