Negative experience: The owner of this is inconsistent with driving skills He seems to have few employees to keep the business running in a professional manner. One person will mark skills one way and another a completely different score. I had an adult take drive with many years experience and noted that the testing was quite subjective and I began to think things were decided for money and not valid or even realistic reasons. Another teen was passed easily with what I found to be questionable skills for safe driving. . Appts were made and cancelled several times by owner and staff; changed twice in 1 day. Very inconvenient. I would recommend research and use this place as a last resort Nice enough owner but not enough to waste time and money for.

Fantastic experience: I recently passed my test here, and I would have never felt comfortable behind the wheel if it wasn't for Kat. She is incredibly kind while teaching, and more patient than I could ever wish to be. Thankyou so much for helping me learn. I could have never done it without you, Kat!

Fantastic experience: Two of my daughters have gone through Driver’s Edge and successfully gotten their drivers licenses. While their communication as a company isn’t the greatest, we do love Kat, one of their instructors. Both my girls loved having her on their drives and as a parent, I very much appreciated her communication with me on what they needed to work on.

Negative experience: Go here at your own risk. Is basically a scam that will eventually end up with your kid having a license. Below is last year's review. I had to go here with my other kid, so I guess the second time it's on me, but they are still unorganized, have no idea what's going on, and are literally the only option making this an extremely predatory school. No one important cares so nothing will be done, I just hope you can find somewhere else to go. My kids did the online version, because we are a large family and Purdy is a bit of a distance from our house. From the start, this was a frustrating and unorganized experience. The owner is extremely slow at submitting important state documents to the DOL.The owner also does not respond to voicemails, emails, or texts. I witnessed other angry parents disrupt one of his classes to ask him questions and get answers regarding class enrollment and issues with the DOL. My kids almost couldn't drive for their behind the wheel portion, and we had to drive over the bridge and wait at the DOL for two ENTIRE days all for them to say he still hadn't submitted necessary paperwork on his end. We called and called, emailed and emailed, and even the DOL called. He claims his phone gets texts too, to which he never responded one time. In the 11th hour, at the sacrifice of a ton of time and energy, we were able to get everything done online (no one told us this was possible. One text or email could've saved all this). The online learning experience was terrible. My kids could barely hear the instructor over all of the in person attendees. The instructor has zero control over the class. It was disruptive and not cohesive in any way. The enormous homework load was thankfully beneficial, and my kids were able to get most of the info from it. When it came time to take the test, I was appalled to find that my kids were two of the ONLY people who passed. MOST of what appears to be at least 50 kids FAILED. I couldn't believe it. $750. I know some blame goes to the students, but HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? Horrible a school, horrible experience.

We recognize communication has been a challenge. Outside of Mondays and Tuesdays, when our admin is available by phone, the best way to reach us is via our website contact form or by emailing [email protected]. I’m actively working on improvements, including implementing a CRM system to streamline responses, because right now texting is only to individual instructor work phones and they don't all work every day.

This is the first report we’ve received about audio issues in online sessions. We do agree the March 2024 class was unusually rowdy, and we’ve made adjustments since.

Many of the concerns — like permit waivers and course completion delays — may stem from missed orientation sessions. Our records show orientation was not attended for either enrollment. These sessions are essential for setting expectations, especially around the DOL’s permit process, which requires specific steps and timely submission of the student’s license number. Without that, we’re unable to process a permit testing waiver. If we were not successfully able to set these expectations I understand how there could be friction in the process.

Our tuition is $625, with an optional $100 add-on for state testing (a savings over the separate $115 fee), not $750. There's even a 5% discount code hidden in our terms and conditions for those who read through them.

Lastly, we are currently revising our homework to reflect updates to the DOL Driver Guide, making the workload more balanced.

Fantastic experience: I decided to take my driving test at Driver’s Edge because of the online information and scheduling flexibility. What I didn’t know was that I would also meet such a great professional as my examiner. Thank you so much, Kat, for making me feel comfortable and relaxed both before and during the exam. Fantastic experience: My experience with drivers edge was continually great! Everyone was very friendly towards me, and during my drives had been very easygoing and encouraging. Kat throughout my lessons and final drive was super nice to me felt wayyy less stressed taking it with her and focused!

Fantastic experience: Kat is a wonderful instructor who encouraged my daughter when she was struggling. She went over and beyond expectations to help my daughter gain confidence during a private lesson. My daughter was intimidated by my truck, but Kat helped her face that fear and the very next day, she passed her drivers test! Big relief for this mama and thankful for how kind and funny she is. Highly recommend as they actually show they care about their job and the students being successful

Fantastic experience: I took the 6 private driving lessons ($60 per lesson) from the Instructor Kat, I was very nervous, very anxiety-ridden and with my Autism it made it all worse- and she had a way to work me out of my nervous bubble! I was scared of crossing the Purdy Spit, and we worked on it! I am no longer terrified of Highways and Roundabouts, as she helped me with my hesitations! 10/10 would recommend Instructor Kat to any scared/nervous teen or adult for driving lessons. She really helped me out, and I will appreciate her everyday for it. Thank you Drivers Edge! ❤️

Negative experience: This company cannot get their act together. They couldn’t send the information to the DMV so that I could get my daughter’s permit at our appointment after 3 weeks! of submitting our paperwork. They have repeatedly cancelled classes for poor reasons. They now have cancelled the written test time less than 2 hours before the test. We have to rearrange our life to deal with their inadequacies. I would highly recommend using someone else. Don’t bother with this company.

We're very sorry for the inconvenience and frustration you've experienced. We know how important this process is, and we regret that we weren't able to meet expectations during your time with us.

Over the past month, we faced unexpected medical emergencies involving both myself (the owner) and our office manager, which unfortunately led to several cancellations and delays. While that’s not an excuse, it did impact our ability to provide the level of service we aim for.
We’re now back to full operations and are committed to providing more consistent service moving forward. Thank you for your honest feedback — it helps us do better.


I am editing this to add a detail. The day that we canceled the test was a day that I was supposed to work, I had been released from the hospital three days prior from being treated for an infection in my leg that had become septic, I thought I was going to be able to work and I was wrong, the pain in my leg was so great that it felt like it was on fire if I didn't elevate it, I did get a ride and make it to the classroom that morning, but I was nearly passing out from the pain by the time we made it there, that day was the day off for my other instructor, who had worked overtime the full previous week to cover my time in the hospital, and they were not willing to come in and work that day at a late notice. I am sorry that I did not decide sooner that it was a bad idea to work that day.

To make up for it I will refund $100 off from you student's tuition, the amount that we charge additional to bundle the DOL testing with the class, and they may take their first attempts at the DOL tests with us free of charge. Send me an email to [email protected] with the receipt number from the transaction and I will process the partial refund.

Positive experience: The staff are knowledgeable and kind, but inconsistent with appointments. Our knowledge test was delayed by 30+ minutes with a call to delay as we were driving there, and the driving skills test was just canceled an hour before the appointment because they had no car or instructor. If this is your choice, be patient and accepting of changing and canceled appointments. Also, expect to leave a message if you call for help or information.

Fantastic experience: My daughter finally finished everything to get her license. Kat was the best instructor for my her. She was always so kind and patient and my daughter only ever wanted to be with her when she did her drives. Kat helped me make that happen. She was always so positive with how my daughter did and shared it with us. I know it helped boost her driving self esteem. I think the actual class is a little unorganized but overall we had a positive experience thanks to Kat.

Negative experience: Why are you scamming people? The institute took the money, but no classes have started yet. If you can’t provide instruction, be upfront about it—why take the money and lie?

We have not recently postponed any classes at this location. Additionally, I do not have any students enrolled in our teenage or private lesson programs with the nams or username you provided.

We did have two private student appointments yesterday. The first appointment was at 6:00 PM, and the student did not show up. Unfortunately, they did not provide a phone number, so I have and had no way to contact them. The second appointment was at 7:15 PM, but the student apparently thought it was at 7:15 AM. I just saw the voicemail they left yesterday morning, before I was even awake, and I still need to follow up with them.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took driver's ed here. The class was informative and thorough, plus they allowed zoom attendance for every class but the final test which was fantastic for my busy family's schedule. The private drive practices were very helpful, aside from a single meh teacher who didn't mesh well with my daughter's learning style. The owners were incredibly open to feedback and quick to fix issues. Our favorite teacher was Kat, she did a fantastic job teaching my daughter in a way that made sense to her without making her feel bad when she inevitably made a mistake. Kat also does an awesome job relating to students who may have some differences in learning styles and it's quick to make anxious new drivers relax so they can do their best.

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with how the class and information was laid out. The parent information was essential and helped me understand the process. The staff were helpful and responsive.
