Macatawa Driving School

Positive experience: I had a pretty good experience with Macatawa (I took segment 1 and segment 2 through them). As a student I really appreciated that they valued maturity and character, not just test scores. My segment 2 instructor did a good job at approaching topics we'd discussed previously (during segment 1) from a new perspective. The questions he asked about our experience and future with driving pushed me to truly consider if I was ready for my license, which was good because it's a big responsibility. Overall, it was a decent experience and the classroom instructors were very chill while also adequately teaching about the risks and responsibilities that come with driving.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took segment 1 through this driving school she had an amazing experience the teacher and driving instructors were amazing they were very patient but honest and we appreciate that! Thanks for a great experience!

Negative experience: Impossible to contact. Paid before covid started for 3 students. Unable to get money back when everything shut down, waited years for 2 students to get into the class we paid for. No phone number or voicemail. Email communication only, which isn’t returned. Daughter needs her segment 2 certificate to test which we can’t get a response from anyone. Save your sanity and use a different company.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved this school! They taught me, clearly, everything I needed to know when it comes to driving. They taught me how to get gas, go through a car wash, and of course, the standard driving tips and rules. They also really did a good job in having me practice the state parking test. The instructors were amazing, and during the class, one shared the Gospel! I was very impressed and happy about that. Little did I know that two years later, I would be driving all the way to Tennessee with my twin sister! I felt totally prepared to make the 12 hour drive. Compared to the other schools my friends learned from, this school really covered the bases, and I was definitely the most prepared for my driving test, not to mention making my first long road trip by myself! Negative experience: One of their instructors passed me on a highway on ramp, on the shoulder. I drive a semi truck... sure hope they don't teach the same way they drive.
