Georgia Counseling, Inc.: Reviews
Fantastic experience: My therapist Clayton is really great. He is very professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. I really appreciate all that he does.
Fantastic experience: I thoroughly look forward to session’s at Georgia counseling. Mrs. Summers is truly heaven sent and has helped me tremendously with my recovery.
Fantastic experience: Mr. Morris is an outstanding therapist. He’s made such a great impact in a very little time. I would highly recommend him.
Negative experience: Absolutely would NOT recommend this business. I am not a current patient and definitely would not consider. I was inquiring of their services on behalf of a family member… Said family member is a current client, and had been trying for days to get ahold of the office to schedule an appointment. I, too, called the number listed on both Google and their website. No response. No option to leave a voicemail. No callbacks. This went on for several days. After some consideration, I made the trip to the facility as they are not far to handle my inquiries. Upon arrival, another patron and her family were seated. There was no one behind the front desk, and as suspected, the phone continuously rang with no relief. Finally, a woman I want to assume was one of the counselors/therapists appeared. She did not greet me. She didn’t even speak. I was not worth more than a passing glance. She escorted the other patron and her party, without even asking what I was there for. A simple, “I’ll be right with you”, or “please leave your name and number and I will I’ll reach back out in earnest” would’ve sufficed. Needless to say, I was irritated. Due to her lack of professionalism, I too, became unprofessional. I walked behind the reception desk (which in itself, seems unsafe at a therapist office? Why is it unlocked? Not all patients are of sound mind?), & left a note on the desk to please contact my family member who had been trying for days to get ahold of them to schedule an appointment. The whole experience was draining.
Thank you for your insightful feedback.
Fantastic experience: Mrs Wilcox is great and very easy to talk to. Very informative as well. Wish I could rate this place 10 stars.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to serve.
Fantastic experience: Keisha Johnson is superb!! She's helped and continues to help my son get through some tough times with the death of my husband his dad. I am so grateful that I found Georgia Counseling which in return gave us Ms. Johnson. He will be with her as long as needed. She is truly remarkable.
Fantastic experience: She is very nice. I love the way I have counseling with her. She’s a positive counselor.
Negative experience: I will update once being seen. To start the office, the assistant needs to be retrained or take her time on the phone and listen to the customer. My first initial contact was on the 22 of March, and Nilda sent an email and a link to the patient portal so I could schedule an appointment. I did my portion and completed everything that needed to be completed by me. I have yet to hear from them, so I called on the 27 of March. I asked her why I haven't been called to set an appointment, and she informed me that I still needed to complete my task. But she'll schedule me anyway that I have till then to complete. I tell her that I have, but she likes to talk over the customer. So that day, Monday, I surfed the site wanting to see the provider's bio to see what her credentials and degrees are, but it is not listed on the site. So I emailed the practice and said just that. Could you provide me a link to her BIO? but no response. I called today, Wednesday, because, yet again, I have yet to receive any communication. I called and spoke to Nilda. She needs to listen, not talk over the customer, and know the difference between demographics and biography. She kept telling me demographics, this, and that. To include that the reason I have yet to be responded to was that my email was not clear since I asked for a link. I said yes, a link to where I can find her bio. Trying to talk to someone who will not listen is mentally exhausting, and at the end of the day, she needs to listen to do her job. So I concluded from the convo that the bio is not there because she is new. Ok, that's all she had to say.
Good Morning Erica, Thank you for your feedback as it will help us continue our development as an organization. Fantastic experience: Even though we all are adjusting to this life during the pandemic the entire staff at Georgia Counseling have made the transition as easy and painless as possible. With Telephone and Telehealth options made readily available and accessible we haven't skipped a beat dealing with my mental health. I highly and easily recommend them to any and all of my friends and family that are looking for qualified mental health professionals
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are so happy to be here for you and your family.
Fantastic experience: I found this office from a quick google search. I’ve been in therapy before but I honestly didn’t know what to expect with such little reviews... well it was definitely a hidden gem. The first time I walked in, I notice the office decor was set up nicely and the colors were calming. The office staff was friendly and offered candy and water. This was definitely a different experience but little things like that help calm my anxiety . It’s been 2 years and I’m still happily receiving care here, along with other family and friends thats I referred. I enjoyed the women’s empowerment groups and the fact that they’re involved with a lot of different non profit organizations. I can say a lot more great things about this office but then I’ll be typing all day.
