Motorcycle Safety School -at SUNY Niagara: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I recently took the MSF course in Sanborn, and I can’t recommend it enough, especially for beginners like myself. Ken, our instructor, was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive, creating a welcoming environment where everyone felt comfortable and encouraged to learn. Our class included people at all skill levels—from those who had never been on a bike to those who had been riding since they were kids. Despite these differences, Ken’s approach brought us all together, and we supported each other every step of the way. He answered every question—no matter how basic or advanced—making sure everyone felt safe, included, and never judged. By the end of the course, I was so proud of our entire class. We all passed, which speaks to Ken’s skill as an instructor and the positive environment he created. It just goes to show that, regardless of your skill level, the right instructor, a good attitude, and the willingness to keep trying can make all the difference. If you’re considering learning to ride, this course is absolutely worth it!
Fantastic experience: I don’t typically write online reviews, but I wanted to write one about my experience at the Sanborn location MSS 2-day licensing course. After a bad experience at the other location, that I reported and was supported through by staff at MSS, I decided to try the course again at the Sanborn location. I had considered giving up and bailing on the class several times prior to taking it over this weekend out of fear that I would run into similar issues with staff or I would feel like a failure again. Nonetheless, I took this class over the weekend and had the instructor Ken. Ken was thorough, engaging, humorous, and made learning less anxiety-provoking. He allowed me to ask several questions and never made me feel stupid or dumb about not knowing something. His calming energy helped our class to bond better and he had good rapport with a couple students who had taken 1:1’s with him. He was able to make learning fun, but still respect the seriousness of the skills we were learning. I felt like he genuinely wanted us to succeed. The instructor of the course makes a world of difference and I was very grateful to have worked with Ken! I do recommend taking a 1:1 prior to this course so you can keep up a bit better with the other learners. I was able to practice with my dad several times beforehand and it definitely made a difference.
Fantastic experience: Me and my friend took the licensing course a month ago. Sue and gin were our instructors and they did a fantastic job. 10/10 would take the class again if they were the instructors and will recommend to my friends as well. Thank you again sue and gin!
Fantastic experience: Great course Ken was a great instructor learned a lot he made it fun
Thank you for sharing your experience, and congratulations on passing the course! We are glad that Ken’s instruction had a positive effect on you and are happy to have another safe rider out on the streets.
Fantastic experience: Kenneth Punnett was the instructor for this course. As a college student who has been very nervous about the entire process of gaining my motorcycle lesson, this coach was one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure of interacting with. First, he made the experience fun rather than stressful. From the continuous comedy, to the ongoing support and complimenting of every rider. Of course, this coach's feedback was also amazing! Very detailed and engaging feedback, which would continue to develop as skills increased or decreased. He would always demo each exercise before we began, and if we ever had any questions, they were encouraged and answered thoughtfully and clearly. It is rare that I make reviews for organizations, but this was one fun and enriching experience; which I will carry with me throughout my motorcycling journey. I highly encourage anyone looking to increase their motorcycle experience to attend this school!

Fantastic experience: Had a great time with Coach Ken and all my class mates during the 7-30 to 7-31 2022 class. I’m not a big fan of the thought of riding but I’m glad I did this to gain the beginner experience needed to move forward. Coach Ken is very passionate about all expects of the motor bike community. His ability to understand all of the different needs for his students to be successful and comfortable is amazing. I had an super fun experience learning and interacting with my fellow classmates. Be safe out there riders. Side note. I stuck around to watch the brc2 class with a different instructor named Ken. He seemed like a fun instructor to work with also. I would work with either instructor when it’s time to come in for more course time or refresher.
Thanks for the feedback and review!
Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is amazing. Definitely ask for coach Ken when signing up for class. He teaches each and every step in detail. He makes sure that every beginner rider will be able to ride bike and get their license.
Fantastic experience: I truly enjoyed the course and recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time doing the license waiver course 9/20/20! I was already very experienced and knew this would be perfect for me as my current motorcycle is long, top-heavy and made for 2up highway riding. That said, for the more difficult parts I was way more comfortable on they're smaller more maneuverable motorcycles which were plentiful with several different styles and sizes to pick from. They had groms, vstars, shadow 300s and my favorite the Suzuki 250 which rode like a bicycle for me. The instructor Ken was in the hospital and the guy who came in last minute to fill in for him, also Ken, was great considering it would have been his day off. Friendly but concise and to the point, did an excellent job of conveying what to do and keeping us moving in the right direction the entire time even when a few of us occasionally got lost he had the patience to guide us back on track. I did not expect to learn anything new here after 16 years of riding but must say that after it was over I am now more confident maneuvering my 900 pound touring bike at very low speeds than I ever have been. Practice makes perfect and this was worth the $$$ to avoid the pressure of a dmv road test as I don't know anyone with a motorcycle licence to ride with to the test and my bike handles like a whale under 10mph. Thank you MSS I would recommend to anyone wanting to gain some skills before they get on the road.
Fantastic experience: I wish there were more than 5 stars because I would give MSS a 10/10. I had zero motorcycle riding experience coming into this course. However, after taking a class with Dave P. as an instructor at NCC, I have so much confidence and pride in myself. MSS is worth the money and time! Does not matter how well you think you may know how to ride. If you have never taken a course, I advise that you do!! Highly recommend!!
Fantastic experience: I want to thank Ken An awesome motorcycle instructor I learned a lot from him That's needed on the road super wonderful experience this guy's tens all the way Niagara community college motocycle safety school where it at Mss Great learning experience for anyone you Rock
Fantastic experience: This course was the first time I had experience riding a motorcycle. It was an incredible course. I took this in Buffalo, NY at ECC college. We went over all the basics for a new rider like myself. First day I stalled a few times, due to the instructor being such a big help I felt very comfortable and didn't stall once on day 2. I plan on going back for the 2nd course!
Thanks for the 5-star rating and glad to hear you enjoyed the experience!
