Fantastic experience: American Harley is a “TOP SHELF” dealership! Just completed the purchase of a 2024 Street Glide and could not be happier. Negative experience: *In response to the reply from American Harley-Davidson: I will take a refund, you can mail me the check to my address you have on file from when I purchased the above referenced Helmet and Motorcycle in the summer of 2022. I believe you are missing the overall point regarding your operation though. I purchased one helmet from you, and one Helmet from Cycle Gear (an online retailer with brick & mortar in PA). They had the courtesy to let me know the Helmet had been recalled...you had the same opportunity...however you were perfectly fine allowing me to ride with a Helmet that was recalled at least 5 months ago. Lucky for me Cycle Gear is a squared away company that pays attention to equipment recalls when they are the merchant processor of the transaction for said equipment. Again, you chose not to inform me of the recall...and I would have been still using the Helemt had Cycle Gear not reached out. Then when I called your company to ask about the recall, I was told to contact the Manufacturer. I'd imagine you have other customers out there riding on recalled equipment that you have sold. The recall for these items was between 2021 and 2024 alone....Do you have a process in place to alert these other customers? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Original Post Below) Typical Sales floor that prioritizes money over customer service. Family run business that isn’t equipped to operate in 2024. Sold me a HD-X07 overpriced helmet along with my overpriced motorcycle. A helmet that has since been recalled. The shop couldn’t be bothered informing their customers of this recall though. They couldn’t be bothered to offer a refund and ship the defective product back to the manufacturer. I don’t mind paying a premium, however, the concept is that it comes with a strong customer service package that enhances the customer experience. Instead the company is hiding behind the manufacturer and (shocker) prioritizing themselves over the customer. My advice? Buy all your gear online. The only reason I discovered I had been using a recalled Helmet was from an online retailer (with brick & mortar locations in PA) that I purchased a separate helmet from at the same time. Rich, I am sorry to hear about your less than enjoyable experience. We went through the process the manufacturer had laid out. If you were not happy with the result, we were happy to try to make it right for you. Our parts associate reached out to you and left a message that you would be receiving a call from management. We tried reaching out to you and got your voicemail and have not received a retrun call. Please reach out to us at your convenience so we can take care of this for you.
