Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this place. I emailed a ton of drivers ed places when I was looking for one for my son. He needed an in person class due to his autism, but I also wanted to see if anyone would have discounts or allow payments to be paid due to being a single parent to 4 special needs kiddos. She gave us a small discount and allowed payments. On top of that, I asked if my son's waiver or wrap therapist could join him to make sure he understood everything and to help ease his anxiety. She didn't even hesitate. Halfway through the class, the owner sent me an email with an update on how he was doing and informed me that he was close to not passing due to his last test. I asked if I could come in on Friday and read the test to him since his therapist wasn't able to come that day and he had a lot of accommodations at school for tests and things, and she said it was totally fine. I knew it was mainly the fact he couldn't read it and comprehend it all, it was just too much. Today we took that test and he passed the class and got a 99% on the test I read to him. He missed ONE question. There aren't a ton of places that will work with you when your child has a disability and I am BEYOND thankful for for this place. The owner, Amy, has made this whole experience great and ease both my son's and my anxiety. I will absolutely send my other kids, that will be able to drive, back here for her class/online class.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but great things to say about this agency. My son already had his permit but I wanted him to receive more instruction behind the wheel. The owner was responsive, helpful, and very accommodating to our need for a quick turnaround. Within 30 days of contacting her, my son completed his 6 drives and passed his driving test. All of the driving instructors were amazing although Brandy was his favorite. I'm thankful for all of the help!! Highly recommended!

We appreciate you and he was a pleasure to have in our program! We wish him all the best as he goes forth in this world as a licensed driver--be safe!!

Fantastic experience: As of the time of writing this review- I have my 6th and final drive tomorrow at 9am. In my opinion, the majority of these reviews don't really accurately reflect Fishers Road Star Driving School so I thought I would add in my own input- as a student too! Most of the bad reviews stem from the lack of spots open. This is because you have to be on the website on the 1st of the month at noon for the spots to drop. In my case, I signed up for my drives on January 1st with no issue. All of the driving places in Fishers are backed up, so it isn’t out of the ordinary for this place to be in the same position. Sure- it’s a little inconvenient to have to rush to sign up when they drop. Though, every other driving school is having the same issue of not having much availability. It doesn’t make them any less of a good business because Fishers is a booming place with many teens learning how to drive. With that out of the way, I’ve completed 5 drives so far. 4 of them were with Gary Snyder and 1 was with Steve Moore. My last drive is tomorrow with Gary. Gary is awesome!!! I have really bad anxiety- I couldn’t stop shaking in the parking lot with my mom prior to the first drive. I felt nauseous, even. Though, Gary is such a laidback and welcoming guy that my anxiety (mostly) dissipated before we even got into the car together. I’m so glad I’ve done most of my drives with him- and I have nothing but good things to say about him. Every drive feels pretty chill with him. Heck, he even turns on the radio- which helps me, I don’t like when it’s dead silent. He’s a super sweet guy and I’ve had such a good experience with him as an instructor. He’s definitely one of the reasons I feel more confident on the road now. I 100% recommend trying to sign up with him if you can. Gary- if you’re reading this, I’m sorry I was always super quiet. I’ve never been very talkative but I really did enjoy listening to your road trivia- like Carmel having 158 roundabouts (1st one being built in 1997 iirc). I’m really bad at being social, my friends can attest to that. Also, I hope you got your email problem fixed and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to help you with that, lmao. Steve is pretty cool too, just not my type of teacher (which is perfectly fine). Another review described him as violent- I didn’t get that impression of him. I would describe him as a very straightforward, blunt, cut and dry instructor. He’s the complete opposite of Gary, but still gave me helpful tips and critiques on how to be a better driver (I appreciate that!!). If you’re doing something wrong- he’ll tell you straight up and tell you to improve on it. While I did walk away feeling like a bad driver (which is more me than him- I’m not the best with handling constructive criticism), I do think having that one drive with him did help me improve as a driver. Again- different teaching styles for different people. Thanks Road Star!! My driving test is scheduled for March 15th, and I’m really hoping I will pass.

Negative experience: They tell you to check daily all day if a drive will magically pop up… how about have enough employees for the students to be able to do their drives?? They’re rude, not kind nor explanatory with any of the information taught but probably just to the brown kids because I see huge smiles on their faces when they deal with the others

Please contact us [email protected] so we can help with this "situation." I only see one student with your email address on file and her drives will be completed this month because her father reached out. I'm more than happy to help if I know what the situation is

Fantastic experience: This driving school is great! As long as you communicate to them what your needs are, they will work with you. I definitely recommend talking to Amy and also getting drives scheduled with Gary. Gary has been great with me and my high anxiety. Very kind, too!

Fantastic experience: My son just passed his driving test last night! We are very pleased overall with this entire program. My son completed the written course online, his 6 drives, and driving test with the program. Communication was excellent. My son is on the spectrum and has anxiety so it took a little time to get him used to being behind the wheel. They worked with us to let us know what he needed to work on and spread his drives out until he was comfortable. I highly recommend the program!

Positive experience: I have read a lot of disparaging reviews as well as positive ones for Road Star Driving School. The classes helped my daughter enormously to pass her written test. Scheduling for drives with an instructor are near impossible, however I called the school staff and explained my difficulty. The lady I spoke with took my daughter's name and availability to help me schedule those drives as soon as they are available (I'm a working parent). It seems that the school needs more teacher drivers to handle the volume of kids that come through the school, so for that reason I am taking 1 star off. Otherwise, while inconvenient, I don't see the need to trash this business. I hope I was as objective and fair in my review.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Messed up my sons birthdate and had to go back to the BMV to get his permit. Thought it was all fixed but when I went to get his license it was wrong AGAIN. Office is closed and I cannot get a hold of anyone.

Negative experience: This is the most unprofessional and unorganized business I have ever worked with. I understand that covid 19 had a part in this but we have tried so many times to schedule drives and they tell us we can't. They won't let us schedule at the beginning of the month and we called to ask why. All they can tell us is that is the way they work and they have hired another driver but it will take them time to get up to speed. My son has already gotten his license and we wanted this for the insurance. They won't work with us and never answer the phone. They call the same day and ask us if we want to schedule a ride for the same day. My son has school and a part time job and can't just adjust the same day. I don't think the money we paid up front is worth anything we are getting now. DONT USE THEM!

Fantastic experience: Both of my boys took drivers ed here. They had a great experience. The online portion was easy to use. The driving instructors were super friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school. I see a number of recent reviews within a 24 hour period that were negative so it looks like a smear campaign. I only came across these reviews today when I was looking up the website to recommend this business to a friend. Upon seeing those reviews, I decided to add my review here. My son completed both the online course via this school as well as did his drives through this school in 2018. If you are organized and you take the time to schedule the drives, you can find a space that works for you. He had no problems with both scheduling the drives or completing of the on-line course. The owner was friendly with my on the phone the two times I called for information. Of course it's awkward to drive a car with strangers, but they were respectful and nice. The one funny line that the first instructor told my son was that he had to think harder about driving than he does in class in school. This is not an exact quote, but whenever I was out driving with my son and he was messing up, I would repeat that quote to him. It came across as funny or strange, but in fact is absolutely true. My son learned so much through the instructors that he scheduled his drives with, tips that I wish many seasoned drivers would hear again as I certainly forgot them and weren't things I would be able to teach him since I've forgotten them myself. These were items such as squaring up your car when you make a turn, being able to see the back tires of the car in front of you when you pull up behind a car at a stop, or when you turn off of a street onto a street with a double lane to stay in the closest lane and not turning into the further lane. I liked this school so much and it was slightly cheaper than the other schools I inquired about. When my son was eligible to take the in the car portion of the driver's test when he was the appropriate age, I even paid the school for this test even though I know you could do it for free at the BMV. It was so much easier to go here. I plan to take my second son to this school when he turns 15.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review. You’re correct about the smear campaign. Hopefully more customers will take the time to leave reviews like you have!!

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Will NOT recommend this place to anyone. They refused to provide my daughter with the service that I paid for because she had a copy of her permit and not the original. I'm sure 18 year old girls love driving around with a strange old man for fun. What a waste of money and time.

Road Star Driving School

Per state law we cannot drive with a student unless they have a valid permit, a copy is not acceptable, plus the copy provided was expired. The other copy provided was a receipt from when she obtained the paper permit- not a copy of the permit. Once again the paper permit you had was expired which means it is not a valid permit. We are more than willing to do the drives with her as long as she has a valid permit when she comes to do the drives.

Negative experience: I’ve alreasy put my honest review up here and they’ve deleted it. But that won’t stop be from giving my opinion. My experience here was terrible. Amy Lee the manager didn’t even respond to my emails at a certain point. The drives are super difficult to get. They only have them available for a few months of the year then they’re gone for the rest of the year. I got my license 5 months late because of this terrible academy. Save yourself the trouble. Sign up with anyone but this school.

Fantastic experience: These other reviews are obviously false. This was such a smooth process so far. The online portion is very user friendly and easy to understand. If you have questions they get back to you right away. The drives are also easy to set-up using the online tool in the course, but do fill up quickly so you have to schedule a week or so in advance. There are also progress reports sent to the parent and student every week. Forgetting about your driving lesson is easily avoidable with a calendar and this great thing called technology! Over all great place.
