Ken's Driving Schools

Fantastic experience: I was recommended to this school by 2 of my coworkers. It usually takes about a day for someone to reply back to inquiries but I didn’t mind too much. Ken was very patient, kind, and encouraging even when I didn’t believe in my own abilities. After two lessons, I passed my road test today on the first try! You will not be disappointed with their service. They seem to be a family owned business and I noticed how they’re good with communicating with each other too.

Fantastic experience: I was an adult when I took the driving course with Ken’s driving school and after 3 lessons with Ken I was successful with getting my licenses! Very affordable for the time that he was able to teach me and he will work with you! Highly highly suggest Ken’s diving school! Thank you Ken!!!!!

Negative experience: Ken’s Driving School is the most unprofessional business I’ve ever dealt with. The instructors have zero patience and act like they don’t even want to be there. One of them spent half the lesson texting on his phone, and another actually took a personal phone call while I was driving! How is that even legal?

Fantastic experience: Three of my children have enrolled and taken the driving course at Ken’s School. All three enjoyed the course. They gained so much confidence to drive. Also as a reference all three of my children were homeschooled. Each one of them expressed that passing the written exam and driving exam on their first go, was credit to going to Ken’s courses.

Fantastic experience: Easy to schedule, great driving instructors. Ken and Mr.M are great, they actually care about driving safely and not just basic driving.

Fantastic experience: My son enjoyed the in class lessons and on road driving. Mr. Ken seems to be very calm with the young folks. My son missed two class sessions and we had no problem rescheduling him. Also, no problem with scheduling the road driving. We did Saturday evenings because that day worked best with my schecule. Thank you Mr. Ken!

Negative experience: Do NOT use Ken’s driving school! By far the worst experience. No one ever answers the phones or email. The Classroom part did work out ok. Once you’ve paid in full you WILL have a problem. There is a number to text Ruth for scheduling. Your text will go unanswered for days. So I called Ken directly and said I’ve been trying to schedule behind the wheel lessons for days. He immediately became rude, condescending and outright nasty. He screamed you want a behind the wheel lesson, let’s go now. I explained I could not go now!! Then he blamed me for not being able to make the appointment that he offered. After multiple times of then texting Ruth, she became hostile and told me there are great driving schools out there and I should find one for my child to do the behind the wheel testing part. I’m glad I learned how terrible and nasty these people are before I put my daughter into a vehicle with them. Before you sign up, please read all reviews from all locations. New Lenox and Frankfort. Read reviews on Yelp AND google.

Negative experience: This company is so unprofessional. If I could give them 0 rating I would. They were never on time kept forgetting my son’s scheduled driving appointments. The lady that books the appointments is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. Please save yourself a headache your kids deserve better. Buyer be ware!!

Negative experience: You ignored the fact that you inappropriately put your hand on a 17 year olds thigh for no reason. You need to be on a list!

Negative experience: My daughter has taken two driving lessons to regain her confidence after an accident earlier this year. Her first lesson was with Marty. She was very comfortable with Marty. We talked to him after the lesson and he gave us thorough briefing on how she performed during her lesson. Her second lesson with with Ken. She was very uncomfortable with Ken. She told us he touched her arm and leg on more than one occasion during the lesson. He also told her how pretty she was. She could not wait to get out of the car and back into the house. This behavior was inappropriate and she will not be returning to driving lessons with this school.

Negative experience: Very rude for the person tell me to get out the car. That I prefer to drive, first, than pay him after my time is over. Very unprofessional way to talk to a customer. I would never recommend to come here.

Positive experience: Driving instructors are great! No problem there.... If I could get someone to actually answer the phone that would be great! 2 phone numbers no one answers either

Fantastic experience: My son recently completed his Behind-the-Wheel instruction at Ken's Driving school. He enjoyed the instructors and he stated that they were very thorough and kind while completing his sessions. He was always looking forward to his drives with no stress or anxiety. I would highly recommend Ken's driving school. They worked with our schedule and were able to complete his sessions in a much more timely manner than any other school offered.

Fantastic experience: An excellent instructor for nervous new drivers! He’s like Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross mixed together. His prices are pretty reasonable and he’s willing to work with your schedule to help you get on the road. I would recommend him to anybody!
