Fantastic experience: I took the 1 hour and 30-minute in-car lesson since I already had my foreign license. Mark was very attentive and patient with all my questions, especially when it came to practicing parallel parking with cones. He guided me through everything with ease and taught me exactly what I needed to know to be fully prepared for my road skills test. I did my exam in Heber , and I passed! Got it at my first try ! All thanks to Mark, he gave me that confidence boost !!! I knew I made the right choice by choosing Joyce Driving School!

Negative experience: If you’re an adult driver do not come here. If you’re an adult you can’t book your classes online. This is only available for teenagers. I don’t know why, it feels very ageist and makes booking extremely difficult. I messaged about canceling my lesson to rearrange for another time. They said they would. They never did and are trying to charge me 100$. I understand that the policy is to cancel 48 hours before. I tried to cancel at least 5 days before and reached out to them twice to confirm that it was canceled, they said it was. The day before “my cancelled lesson”, I received an email saying I was still booked in. The day before the lesson (today) I contacted the driver directly making sure the company cancelled. This is when I finally received a cancellation email. This service has been extremely frustrating. I really loved my instructor, he was great but unfortunately the people in charge of booking are non responsive and not helpful. I paid for the adult 6 hour lesson (4 classes) and have used 2. Which i think cost around $700 total. I really regret taking the leap and I wish I went with a different company who were more helpful. I don’t know what to do, lessons are extremely expensive and I am at a loss.

Negative experience: DO NOT use Joyce’s driving school for your driving skills test!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. What an awful and demoralizing experience for my stepson. He is an incredible driver, so much so that we trust him driving our new Porsche Macan GTS. He was given a 73 (points off) on his driving skills test, only to redo it at a different business 24 hours later to get a 2 (points off). The score in which he was given we were later told was inaccurate (given a 6 points off in an area where you can only get a 5) - he failed before he started by losing 21 points to a biker stopped (fully, waiting for his friends to catch up) in the sidewalk part of a roundabout, which he slowed but didn’t come to a complete stop for as he saw he was not moving or on his bike. Then, he lost 21 points because he used his backup camera too much. Isn’t that the point of a backup camera? You look back once and make sure you’re good to back up on the curb and then let the camera do the rest. I think it was a ploy to get us to pay this company twice to get the license. Absolutely ridiculous.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear that your stepson’s driving skills test with us was not what you expected. At Joyce’s Driving School, we strive to maintain fairness and accuracy in all our assessments, and it’s upsetting to learn that you felt otherwise.

We understand how important this milestone is, especially for confident drivers like your stepson, and we regret if the scoring seemed harsh or inconsistent. Our instructors follow strict guidelines set by the licensing authorities, including points deductions for safety and protocol adherence. The backup camera, while helpful, is intended to complement safe driving habits rather than replace necessary visual checks.

We’re also sorry for any confusion regarding the scoring system and the experience overall. Your feedback is valuable, and we will review the concerns you’ve raised to ensure our process remains clear and fair. Please note that our instructor spent time reviewing the road test score and pointing out what needed to be improved on during the next road test. We are not allowed to coach the testees at all before the test, but these reviews after the fact often improve the scores for everyone.

We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail and review the situation directly. Please feel free to contact us at 435-215-1745, so we can address this personally and work towards a resolution.

Wishing your stepson all the best on the road.--

Negative experience: Do not suggest getting them to test. They designed their system to fail everyone the first time to ensure a second test to fill their wallets. Choose someone else.

We understand that testing can be stressful, and we encourage all our students to prepare thoroughly. If you have any specific concerns or would like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to reach out to us directly at 435-215-1745. Fantastic experience: Very convenient since they pick up your teen from home or PCHS. The immediate feedback after each lesson helped us focus our future drives on specific skills.
