Heavy D Driving School

Fantastic experience: We were very happy with Heavy D across the board but specifically with Craig, the instructor that we had all 3 drives with! Craig was amazing with my son. He not only was very communicative with me, but he made my son feel comfortable and at ease. He was flexible and accommodating when he didn't have to be regarding meeting spots, etc. Craig gave my son several tips and tricks that is he is continuing to remember and talk about. Craig is great with kids and is a gift to anyone that gets to have him as an instructor!

Fantastic experience: My son recently completed the online driver’s license course and behind-the-wheel training with Heavy D Driving School, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Eric was incredibly responsive to all my emails and questions, which made the process smooth and reassuring. The behind-the-wheel instructors were professional, kind, and compassionate. They helped my son feel comfortable in what can be a very stressful environment. After each session, we received helpful feedback and tips on areas to continue working on. It’s clear that the team genuinely cares about helping new drivers succeed—not just checking off required hours. We plan to use Heavy D Driving School again and will definitely recommend them to others!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about this driving school! As a single mom, I was really struggling to find a school that could fit my daughter in on short notice, I had no idea how quickly they fill up. But Eric and Brandon were amazing. Brandon worked with our short timeline and even handled pick-up and drop-off, which was such a huge help. My daughter was initially nervous about driving with a male instructor, but Brandon’s kind demeanor and teaching style put her at ease almost immediately. She came home after each lesson more confident and kept telling me about things like “SMOG” and “cover and check” clearly, she was actually learning and retaining important skills. If you're looking for a professional, compassionate, and truly student-focused driving instructor, this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: My daughter just completed her 3 sessions of behind-the-wheel with Brandon. He is fantastic! She said he's so nice and easy to talk to. He explains things well, so she caught on quickly and gained so much confidence. I would highly recommend him as an instructor.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took driving lessons from both Mike and Eric and learned so many tips and how to handle the road (she is even teaching me to flawlessly parallel park!). I had a lot of questions with what is needed for a full drivers license and they were very responsive and even returned my email with a phone call to answer all of my questions. My daughter felt very comfortable and I feel better with the level of 6 hrs of driving training. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Heavy D is amazing! The ease of signing up, accessing the modules, scheduling driving time, and communication was outstanding. Thank you to Brandon, one of the driving instructors. His calm and reassuring presence was very much appreciated. Our daughter felt confident and prepared with his instruction. We will use Heavy D again and recommend to others!

Negative experience: We had two children try to go through training with Eric from Heavy D. One was average, with little to no information on the website we were left to figure out what we needed on our own. This was during COVID so we gave grace knowing times were different. Fast forward a few years later and we tried to enroll our 2nd kid. We had nothing but problems. Again, a poor website lead us to the wrong registration, poor communication about what was actually needed, and no guidance on how to get a refund. We are out $100. We went to a competitor and had an EXCEPTIONAL experience. If you are looking to be an informed and involved parent Heavy D is NOT the place to go!!

Fantastic experience: Our teenager recently finished his course through Heavy D Driving school and I cannot say enough good things about the program. The head instructor Eric Weaver is very knowledgeable and makes the course content engaging for the students. Personally, I appreciated the extra class given to the parents that included testimonials and tips for mentoring and modeling for your child. For the behind the wheel portions we were impressed with the professionalism of our child's instructor Mike Argall. He took the time to go through his notes with both the student and the parents. He gave very fair and honest training. I highly recommend Heavy D Driving School for anyone who has a teenager looking at getting their license.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fabulous instructors. Eric is the best! My child has a disability and both instructors he worked with were so kind and understanding. My child was well prepared for the written test and skills test.

Fantastic experience: Heavy D is a family-focused driving school. Students learn the ins and outs of driving in a classroom setting and then put their skills to use as they begin permit driving. Eric was encouraging and supportive and was always available to answer any questions. My son felt he learned a great deal with Kim during his behind-the-wheel training. She showed our son the sweet "stick spot" in learning how to parallel park and corner back in. To my amazement, our son did it perfectly his first time and never looked back! He passed his road test with flying colors thanks to Eric and Kim! I highly recommend Heavy D!

Fantastic experience: Great driving school! Craig was a fantastic behind the wheel instructor! He provided excellent feedback to us on areas where he felt our daughter needed work & made my daughter feel so comfortable behind the wheel. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I never write reviews, but this one I really want to share. We are happy that our daughter had a chance to take her driving lessons at Heavy D Driving School. It is difficult these days to find such professionals who can explain and graft the right driving attitude and responsibility to a teen. I am self-taught... and now my daughter is pointing to deficiencies in my driving :) need to work on that. Those students who get a chance to take lessons with Mike A. - one of the school instructors will be really lucky. He does a great job, I am sure other instructors too. We had a great experience with Heavy D Driving. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Heavy D Driving School. Eric was very consistent in his communication, was organized and easy to work with. My daughters both had Alicia for their driving instructor. She was always on time & sent a text the morning of a lesson as a reminder. My daughters both said they were happy to have lessons with Alicia. Each one said she was kind, made them feel comfortable right away and was encouraging throughout each lesson. I would highly recommend using Heavy D for both drivers ed class and behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had Mike for BTW and her test. She loved working with him! He gave her so many great tips! I feel much more comfortable with her driving after the time she spent with him. He made her feel comfortable and much more confident. Great guy and great to work with! He made driving fun and safe for her!

Fantastic experience: We were completely satisfied with our experience with Heavy D Driving School. My son had lots of experience driving with his parents during his permit time, but he gained valuable additional knowledge from his driving course due to the knowledge and experience of his instructor Craig. Eric the owner was very responsive to emails or questions and made the process very easy. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to say thank you! My daughter has been student of yours for the last year and she has just completed her final behind the wheel lesson with Mike. I wanted to say how much she enjoyed her lesson with Mike! He was calm, patient, and understanding and did a fantastic job of explaining what she still needs to work on! She said he even drew her pictures to help explain what she needs to continue to work on! That is a sign of a great teacher! Thank you! We will defiantly be using Heavy D for our son next year!

Fantastic experience: Very positive experience! Eric Weaver facilitates the courses and experiences in a very professional, super friendly, and organized manner! Mike Argall (driver for the behind the wheel) was amazing too! Mike was very communicative and encouraging. I feel they have really coached our daughter to being a safe, competent, law abiding driver. They were great to collaborate with along the entire way! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Our son, Hayden, had Craig Hamblin as his behind the wheel instructor. Craig was very encouraging, patient, and timely with online feedback between lessons. Fantastic experience: Craig with Heavy D Driving was prompt when picking up my daughter for each of her sessions. He was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. My daughter enjoyed working with him and he gave her great tips while teaching her parallel parking too! She felt comfortable driving with him and she feels ready for her upcoming road test. Fantastic experience: Our son, Aiden, had Bob as a behind the wheel instructor. Aiden said he was very patient and easy to connect with. He was very informative and helpful and Aiden enjoyed the time driving. He passed his license test on the 1st try!

Fantastic experience: Mike does an excellent job at helping people learn to drive. He comes in with a smile on his face, visits and makes connections with individuals helping them feel comfortable with driving. Each time our child drove with Mike, he always talked about the positives and let us know what we needed to be working on with our child. I would highly recommend to be learning from one of the best and you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: We used Heavy D Driving for our daughters behind the wheel classroom and driving. She enjoyed both the classroom and driving portion with Eric. Eric was patient with her and explained different situations to her during the driving portions. After each driving period Eric would email us tips to work on and wonderful positive feedback. We really appreciate his patience and positivety with the kids. We will recommend Heavy D Driving to anyone needing classroom or driving for behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: My son completed his behind the wheel hours & road course last weekend with Mike A. We couldn't have been more pleased with Mike's patience, attention to detail, knowledge & he is very easy going. My son was nervous at first but everything went smoothly as he gained more confidence in himself. In fact, I think he has more confidence driving in Fargo @ 14 (almost 15), than my daughter does & she's 3 years older. THANK YOU Mike & Eric - awesome job, we will definitely recommend you to others.
