Phil's Driving School: Reviews

Negative experience: I enrolled my daughter in the program well over a year ago. When I initially talked to the lady on the phone who claims to be the owner, she quoted me one price. When I showed up next day to pay in full, she gave me another price that was higher than the original. So it did not start off good.. My daughter struggled with the initial start up never got past the initial app. She never used the course never got into the classroom. Never did any of it.to be fair. She probably was not trying like she should've been I talked to the lady at Phil's a few times she offered to give me a refund initially, probably about three months ago, my daughter still struggle with the program like I said never even got past the initial start up are used any of their services when I asked for a refund again she refused to refund my money and charge me for a service that we have not used. So They said there was no problem with their program. and they kept the money said I signed the contract and that was it.
Louis, the only speck of truth in your review is that you enrolled your daughter over a year ago. Our prices are on our website. We don't just make up prices when a customer walks in the door.
9/07/23 You enrolled your daughter.
9/27/23 You left a message saying your daughter was stuck and you didn't know that the dmv offers the same course. No, the dmv does not offer driver ed and your daughter worked on her course later that day, so she isn't stuck.
11/01/23 You called and said that you didn't know she would be doing an online class. What?? I told you how far she was into the course and, at that time I offered you a refund. You said you will get back to me.
10/28/24 A whole year later, you called and said "by the time she finishes she'll be 18 so why bother. I'd like a refund." Why bother? Please don't give up on your daughter. She still deserves to a chance to become a skilled and safe driver. Your daughter is welcome to continue working on her course.
You are well aware that your daughter was working on her course. On 5/30/23 you were both sent an email explaining that after 3 failed quiz attempts, the student must re-watch that video portion. YOU opened the email. Your daughter did not. That's the day she quit working on her course.
Also, the app that you claim she never got into or used; she is still logged in today. For app updating purposes, she should log out occasionally.
Fantastic experience: My brother and I both went with Phil's driving school when we got our licenses a while back. Phil and Sharon both did an amazing job! I highly recommend them and their driving school for getting your license!
Hey Hanzel, Thanks for the 5 star review. Much appreciated. You and Julius are great drivers and made our job easy.
Negative experience: We switched to a different driving school halfway through because it was next to impossible to schedule lessons. You can only schedule one lesson at a time over the phone. The owner stands in front of the school smoking. The receptionist, if you can actually get someone to answer the phone, is unfriendly and makes you feel like you are an unwelcome customer. If we would not have switched my son would have had to reschedule his driving test due to lack of availability of appointments for driving lessons. Instead, he was able to get all lessons in and passed on his first try!
False statements.
The only time I don't answer the phone is when I'm busy with another customer. You can always leave a message.
Lesson #1, I received a late cancelation text.
Lesson #2, your son came on the wrong day. You came stomping in demanding to know why his lessons were being canceled. I showed you the cancelation text that I received from your phone #. You said, "Oh yeah, he wanted to go fishing."
Then he came 10-15 minutes late for the following two lessons.
If your son wanted his license quickly, then you must call in and schedule lessons on a regular basis. Which you DID NOT DO.
Our instructions clearly state that you can only schedule one lesson at a time. You called wanting to schedule all the rest of his lessons and threw a tantrum again when I said I would only schedule one.
You were the one treating me poorly, so I asked you to finish his lessons elsewhere and gave you a refund.
Fantastic experience: Took a few months of lessons. The driving instructor was very patient and helpful. Had a great experience. Also lessons were affordable. Thank you!
Thanks for the 5 star review Emma. Much appreciated!
