Safe Start Driving School (SAME OWNERS: Formerly Fresh Green Light Driving School)

Negative experience: Horrible instructors they like to teach in extremely bussy lots. Putting other cars at risk. when there's a clear and empty lot across the street from the target they like to teach would not recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience for our daughter. It’s well run, and her instructor, Joe, was the best. We're looking forward to going through the program again with our son.

Fantastic experience: Our experience with Safe Start Driving school has been outstanding. Easy to find classroom schedule that aligned with ours, consistent behind the wheel appointments, and Fern and the rest of the employees were patient with all our questions and changes. Special shout out to Joe who was our daughter’s behind the wheel instructor. He put her at ease and helped build her confidence, which helped build our confidence in her driving. :)

Fantastic experience: I’ve put three kids through different driving schools and Safe Start/Fresh Green Light is absolutely head and shoulders above either of the others. They are super easy to work with. They are calling me to schedule driving lessons. My son goes to high school out of state and they are proactive about setting up drives when he’s in town. When I tried to compress all his lessons into a short time they politely and appropriately explained how that wasn’t a good way to do it. My son thought the classes were good and thinks the instructors are good too. The school has an actual curriculum with written feedback on the driving lessons. I am very happy with them from start to finish.

Fantastic experience: We have had such a wonderful experience with Safe Start Driving School. Classes were convenient and on time, his drives were scheduled so easily by a really kind staff, the driving instructors were great, and I've been able to schedule with ease our son's final drive before he receives his license. This is our first time going through "driving school" with our children and we will definitely be using Safe Start again.

Fantastic experience: We are so grateful to the entire staff at Safe Start Driving School. My son loved his class teacher, and developed such a nice relationship with his road teacher as well. The office was extremely helpful, extremely supportive, and always answered the phone ready to help solve any issue. Cannot recommend this driving school high enough.

Positive experience: Fresh green light was a great company we worked with for many years as we had three children go through the program. They had ups and downs, but they always tried to fix issues caused by their rapid growth and popularity. All in all, they did a good job and we were happy with them. We have come to know this company very well, and even with the few hiccups in their operations, we would use thenm again. They were very communicative with us, and ultimately this was most important.

Negative experience: The instruction has been good but the behind the wheel scheduling is a nightmare. My son turns 16 in August. He completed his classroom in January and didn’t get his first behind the wheel lesson until March. The method to signup for behind the wheel has changed many times and just changed again. Our son will most likely not complete his required behind the wheel driving lessons before his bday which they have acknowledged in a recent email. I recognize the staffing issues but the comment that there are just too many students vs instructors sounds like business problem not the paying customers.

Fantastic experience: Driving instructors were always timely and great! Office staff was extremely helpful and courteous - whenever we would call for help, the staff did whatever was necessary to find a solution, despite the challenges they were managing. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I typically dont write reviews but decided to do one today. My son, 16 received his driver's license today. Being a ultra-nervous mom, it was a rough path. Fresh green light was with us all along the way. Not only they provided the behind the wheel training on the road skills for my son but they went above and beyond to ease up nervousness by offering to ride along during the sessions. This was huge. Fern and her staff were very supportive and we would not have accomplished this task with out fresh green light and the highly experienced staff there. I am so Thankful today that I chose fresh green light for my son and feel proud that I added another responsible driver to our roads. Thanks Fern and FGL.

Fantastic experience: I've had 2 kids complete the program, and both times we had a wonderful experience at Fresh Green Light. The staff is easy to communicate with, the portal is great for scheduling drives and seeing which classes are completed or need make-ups. All around a great experience!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Fresh Green Light to anyone seeking quality driver's education for their teenager. I have used FGL for my two oldest sons, and they both had a great experience. My second son just finished his in-car driving and, throughout this challenging period as we emerged from the lock down of the pandemic when many students were trying to schedule drives, Fern at FGL went out of her way to help us find times that worked. One of their instructors even performed my son's road test, saving us the time and hassle of trying to schedule an appointment with the DMV. Thanks FGL!

Fantastic experience: Fresh Green Light has been amazing. When running into some scheduling conflicts, they offered to create a custom class to for my daughter, they are friendly, helpful and organized. They have been especially accommodating, understanding and flexible during Covid. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience with Fresh Green Light! My son just completed their program. Zoom classes were taking during the pandemic, great flexibility with options on when to take classes online and scheduling for drives was easily done on their portal. The driving instructors were all excellent and we appreciated the written feedback emailed after each lesson. Road driving exam was an option to be taken through Fresh Green Light. They were very communicative and responded quickly with any questions or rescheduling when needed. Fern, your patience, guidance and helpfulness was greatly appreciated!

Fantastic experience: We found FGL to be everything we wanted in a driving school. The office staff does a great job in listening to the needs of the student. Their communication is an A+. The behind the wheel instructors were all fantastic! It was a challenging year and they were very accommodating. I will not hesitate to sign up my other daughter when she is of age.

Fantastic experience: Using FGL for my kids' was a wonderful experience. The instructors are first rate and definitely helped my kids become better drivers. The communication is excellent ! Fern will always help with whatever you need.

Fantastic experience: My daughter who is a VERY nervous driver and was petrified of going behind the wheel did this course and the structure of it was great. Time options are wonderful and Fern is so pleasant and accommodating I always got help if I needed to call about anything. The driving app is great for calculating the hours and I would get sent an e-mail from the instructor so I knew how my daughter did after each drive and what she needed to improve on. My son is now signed up and going to go through the process. I have nothing but positive feedback for this company- if you are even thinking of signing your teen up just do it, and if you have a terrified teen like I did know that this is the best place for them to learn and feel comfortable driving.

Fantastic experience: We had a really great experience at this driving school. Fern is fantastic with all communication and SO very helpful in a kind and timely manner. I love how well this facility is run! The driving instructors arrived punctually at our house and always provided an email report after each drive. Our older daughter used a different driving school a few year ago and that place was terrible. We think FGL is a breath of fresh air compared to other driving schools out there! Highly recommend!!!

The learning was positive and comprehensive, and we are grateful for the attentive education. Having one-on-one driving sessions is unique. We will be sending our younger son to FGL next year.
