Road Star Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: If I could rate this place zero stars I would. They are rude, unprofessional and have the absolute nerve to be expensive. The only way you can get in touch with someone is through email. No one is ever at the office or answers the phone. It is so hard to schedule drives. It is such a waste of money and time. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE FOR DRIVING LESSONS. It is the absolute worst choice if you decide to send your children here for drives you will regret it as I did. I read reviews before I chose this place and still decided to give it a shot and I can NOT agree more with the already horrible reviews and low star rating.
Fantastic experience: Dennis is very misunderstood and misinterpreted by most of these reviews. Dennis is one of the kindest humans i’ve conversed with, he was merciful when i made mistakes driving and he never once yelled at me like some of these reviews are saying. But if you put you and Dennis’ life at risk… yes you might get yelled at as a natural response that us humans have, put yourself in his shoes and then think… This place is not a 2.9 star driving school. Scheduling was easy, Dennis and Sherrie are really really good at what they do and Sherries patience is through the roof and she is a very kind hearted person with really great intentions and has a-lot of love for what she does. All I’m saying is that these other bad reviews scared me when I first started and i judged a book by its cover. but then I gave the people a chance and got to know them and really they are kind and bring light to a drive and make the hour meaningful and make it enjoyable. 5 Stars from me. Thank you Dennis and Sherrie!
Negative experience: Definitely not worth it! Over priced and not a good experience
Negative experience: I'm in the waiting room, waiting for my instructor, when I hear moaning coming from the bathroom down the hall. The instructor is taking the biggest dump of his life, and he's so loud I can hear him all the way from the waiting room. He walks out of the bathroom grunting and breathing heavily with every step. He also smells bad too. "Sorry about that delay." "Where's my key?" (I don't know why he would ask me that). "Don't know where my key is." I found the key for him. The last driver left it in the car, and the car was still running. I'm waiting for him to get to the car, I wait for at least 15 minutes. It's not over though! I was on my phone waiting for him to get in the car, because what else am I supposed to do? He tries to get in the car, but the door is locked. I unlock the door, and he yells: "Get off your phone! Couldn't you see I was trying to get in the car?" It's not my fault the last driver locked all the doors, and why is he yelling just because the door was locked? It doesn't stop there; he kept yelling at me in the car. I tried slowing for a very narrow turn, and he yelled: "No, drive faster!" He was yelling at me to avoid potholes that were unavoidable (I would've had to swerve into oncoming traffic). He was just in a bad mood; he has a bad temper too. What a terrible experience. Instead of being an instructor who is supposed to teach you, he just yells at you. And he had the nerve to ask me, "Why do you never talk to me on our drives?" This happened two years ago, and I still think about it sometimes. The lady instructor was way nicer than that 300-pound old man-child.
Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Dennis. He was supportive and patient with my boys during drives in the car, and Amy was super responsive on scheduling requests. I would highly recommend this driving school.
Negative experience: Quiero que mi mamá entre al programa y nunca me contestan ni me informan nada
Negative experience: My girlfriend is taking driving lessons here and after each drive she calls me, hysterical and in tears. It’s about her instructor, Dennis Loveless - “loveless” indeed! He is a very, very mean man. He yells at her for even the smallest mistakes. One time she missed a turn, very minor mistake, and let me tell you, Dennis absolutely lost his mind. Yelled and screamed about how stupid she was and her lack of intelligence - and let me tell you, she has no problem with intelligence, believe me. Do not waste your time or money here folks. Very very big problems. Sad!
Negative experience: Well I was looking into different driving schools for my son this summer, but by all the reviews I will pass on this place. Another thing how is Dennis still working at this place with all the negative reviews he's got I guess the owner supports this kind of behavior how sad.
Negative experience: Dennis is a pain to talk to lmao
Fantastic experience: Mr Moffitt is a great teacher and made the class more enjoyable
Fantastic experience: Amy and Dennis have been AMAZING!!! My son just finished his driving courses and test. We have loved our experience with Road Star Driving and will definitely recommend to all our friends.
Thank you Angela! It’s been a pleasure to help your son in his journey and we look forward to helping anyone else you can send our way!
Negative experience: No means of requesting a refund formally on website after registering. Possibly violating UCC and consumer protection rights. Office staff in Noblesville had to call the owner on vacation who had to confer with his wife to issue a refund which they couldn’t confirm. When I requested the owners contact information I was refused. Wonder how it became a requirement to have drivers ed to get your license 90 days after your 16th Bday. I’m sure some legislators lined their pockets well with this scam.
This review might be better suited for the school your student was registered at. The Geist office has no record of a student with this last name
Fantastic experience: Very kind and helpful
Fantastic experience: My daughter is currently enrolled in school here. She had taken the online course and she is doing her drives now. I've had a few questions throughout this process (BMV error) and have received an email back very promptly. I had called as I'm not big on email but the voicemail suggested email for faster response. It worked. Thank you for helping teach my daughter!
Negative experience: Mr. Lovelace did a great job as an instructor! Our family has had a few students here. However, customer service is key for a business to remain in business (thank God for online reviews these days). Horrible communication. Takes WEEKS to get a response...including to sign up for the classes! And good luck getting questions answered once you finally do sign up. If school stays too busy to return calls that should also mean it's profitable. Plenty of folks looking for minimum wage jobs...I'd recommend hiring one as an office assistant. Even if part time. Just seems like common sense.
I responded to your daughter’s email right away. Still waiting for a response from her. I am doing more driving lessons in a day that takes me away from the phone. Our voicemail states that’s and asks customers to email and I can respond much easier. I’m sorry you find this frustrating. If you have a competent office assistant in mind, send them my way!
Negative experience: I have tried to call them to set a drive during business hours and they do not answer the phone I think we should take our children somewhere else .
I can’t always answer the phone, especially if I’m on a driving lesson. It’s also hard to call someone back if they don’t leave a message. My email address is also on the recording and I haven’t received an email regarding any of your boys. One benefit of having online registration is that you can also schedule driving lessons through those accounts at your convenience. Instructions on how to do that were sent home on the first day of class. Please email me with any other questions or concerns: [email protected]
Fantastic experience: My daughter just completed the entire course with the Geist Road Star Driving School and we couldn't be more pleased! From the classroom time, through the 6 instruction drives and even taking the Waiver test for her license, Amy and her staff were always helpful, professional and willing to help in any way possible. I was skeptical about going the driving school route, but after working with them for the last few months, I would have no problem recommending their service to anyone. We thank Geist Road Star Driving School for helping our daughter obtain the skills/knowledge to become a safe driver.
Fantastic experience: Great place to get a driving education it’s fantastic
Fantastic experience: Lowkey thee best place ever
Fantastic experience: Isss aight
Negative experience: My son has has 3 lessons that ended early. Top that off, his lesson on 10/14 the instructor didn’t have enough gas to finish the lesson and wasted time during the lesson to get gas. The same lesson that finished 10 mins early.
Who is your son? I'd be happy to fix the problem if you'd like to email me directly at: [email protected]
Negative experience: Extremely horrible experience!! My daughter came home in tears after one of the instructors degraded her, said rude comments. DENNIS LOVELESS was extremely rude to her, making her feel dumb, and even told her "You are making this job much harder for me." AS SHE WAS DRIVING. Very disappointed. Do not send your kids here.
Negative experience: Easy to do online course. Very difficult to schedule driving. Owner unapologetic about issues with getting drives in consistently.
Summer is our busiest time with at least a hundred students battling for the same driving hours. I have added myself to the schedule in the coming weeks so there are more options available. I do whatever I can, when I can, to add myself to the schedule when there is a car available
Fantastic experience: I will start off by saying I am 30yrs old and I have been terrified of driving my entire life. I took driver's education when I was 16 and had a horrible experience and I never drove again. Well this year I decided to go to a different drivers ed and try it again. Let me start from the beginning. The owner Amy was so kind and I asked her at least one million questions by email. She answered every single question right away and was so sweet. Next I drove with Mr. Dennis L. my very first time and he was so kind. He took his time with me and he told me a story that related to my situation that made me gain confidence. He was so uplifting and one of the most kind people I ever met. The moral of this story is I passed my test and I'm eligible for my license in the 1st. Thank you guys so much for everything. You don't understand how much you've changed my life!!!!
We are soooo happy for you!!!! You took initiative and did the work to become a better driver...we just gave you a little push in the right direction. Good luck in all you do!!
