Fantastic experience: Very good driving school! Many years ago, I did my lessons with this school as an adult driver and had such a positive memory of the experience, I kept it in mind for when my kids were of driving age. My older son recently did lessons and the road test with an instructor named Rudy, who my son said was a fantastic instructor and very chill, which made my son feel at ease and confident. Rudy was extremely supportive and helpful even during the stress of having to change test dates due to weather and made sure to send my son a congratulatory note as soon as he saw him complete the road test. Will be using this school for my younger son too when it's his turn.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could give George & his team of instructors more than 5 stars. My son had the best experience with his driving instructors. If anyone has a nervous 16 year old looking for driving lessons, I highly recommend Gary Thomson Driving School. The owner, George Clayton, is very good at communicating with parents during the whole process. My son nailed his road test, thanks to the awesome instructors & great driving lessons. Their prices were very reasonable, compared to other local schools. Their knowledge & expertise was worth every penny!!!

Fantastic experience: had rudy for a few lessons to prepare me for my road test. the dude was amazing. great energy and amazing technique. i recommend him to ANYONE looking to pass that road test. he made me feel so comfortable on the road, also gave me great advice. 10/10 he got me to pass with EASE

Fantastic experience: I would give Gary Thomson driving school 10 stars if I could and it still wouldn’t be enough to justify the service I received! I don’t have personal experience with all their driving Instructors they all seem to have good review. However my driving instructor Rudy was nothing less than Extraordinary!!! When I say I was a nail biting nervous driver with little to no experience its only sugar coating. Rudy set the highest standard for being able to provide a calm educational environment! Especially driving being already stressful and what I consider to be high risk. He tailored each lesson to my specific needs and help set goals and make our lessons enjoyable/engaging. Never did I feel uncomfortable asking any questions nor express nerves. Rudy always managed to make me feel as though I was more than capable of passing my driving test, even though doubting myself is a strong trait of mine. I wouldn’t be kidding when I say I was partially sad about passing because it meant it was my last time driving with him. Coming from a situation where I had little to no confidence/assistance when it came to practicing and battles EXTREME social anxiety , Rudy was an absolute blessing !!! All around an awesome human, is incredible/passionate at his job. If I had the opportunity I would get my license again !! HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!

Fantastic experience: My twins just received their permits today. George was so kind and really helped make this process easy for the kids. Rudy was their instructor for their 6 hours and really made the kids feel so comfortable and confident. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone with an anxious teen. Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: Rudy gave me additional lessons a few months before my road test and he was amazing. He taught me how to merge lanes and deal with highways at ease, as well as how to park correctly, enabling me to go into my drivers test confidently, as I knew everything that I needed to know. I definitely will recommend Rudy to friends and family

Fantastic experience: This driving school is one of the best!! I used them for my daughter and now my son they made them be at ease during the whole process. I highly recommend them to anyone looking. He explained what is needed for motor vehicles and sent a follow up email just in case, Top notch instructors as well as the owner. Best part they are flexible !

Negative experience: I learned the basics of how to use a car and that's about it. The instructor Johnny yelled at me the entire two hours we were driving. I'm neurodivergent which made his "instruction" — nonstop yelling — more difficult for me to understand. This was a safety hazard to me as a student and obviously to others on the road. Thanks for teaching me how a car works ,, but you would genuinely get better insight on how to drive from the written driver's ed course than the specific instructor Johnny.

Positive experience: The female i had at first was cool but john was very unprofessional and dyes his hair like a little girl as i was driving he would over react to absolutely everything which is a danger not only to myself and john but other drivers on the road i have heard similar experiences from some of my peers that also had john as a driving instructor not to mention him always smelling of cigarettes

Negative experience: i didn’t had a really good experience with this school , johnny is good don’t get me wrong but he was be really hostile and i understand because he is the instructor but most of the time the lesson felt rush he even got mad at me for not paying attention to the car because he started talking on the phone mid lesson sadly i don’t be coming back for more lessons

Fantastic experience: Thank you for your excellent service.I passed my road test today Krissy teaches me all I need to know and she used easy way to remember .She is very nice,patience, calm and let you understand everything. Gary Thompson is better driving school than Red bank driving school .In red Bank driving school the woman that teaches me on my first day till the last day of my driving lessons keep screaming at me. Which makes me nervous and I don't learn from her . She doesn't have patience and not really care . To all who are looking for the best driving school I recommend Gary Thompson because they will teach you all you need to know to past the road test

Fantastic experience: Used Gary Thompson Driving School for both of my children. Instructors were excellent, and Chrissy the instructor is amazing. She teaches them easy ways to remember how to park. Both kids passed on first try and both are good and safe drivers! Highly recommend them! George the owner walks you through the whole process of what is needed. They are in constant contact with you from the minute you schedule to when they arrive to pick the kids up.

Fantastic experience: Instructors were great . On time always . I also like that they text me reminders and what paperwork we needed ahead of time . My daughter also lost all her permit and they responded back they same day to help us get a new one. Outstanding service.

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school!Great owner and great people who work for him! The people who work for him really know alot about driving. So glad I did it with them,and so happy that they were patient with a person who has alot of anxiety/nervousness like me.Just awesome!
