Carolina Road Driving School

Positive experience: I took road test training from this company. Overall, the company is fairly professional and I liked their service. However, the instructor I was assigned had some serious issues. He was an elderly gentleman and extremely panicky. Whenever something went slightly wrong, he would panic and start yelling, which created a stressful learning environment. I told him I was going to take the test at the "X" DMV place and asked to practice at that specific location on my last day, but he refused. He made up an excuse, saying something like "We don’t know which DMV you’ll take the test at," which didn’t make sense, and he didn’t let me drive there.

Fantastic experience: Our son just finished his behind the wheel last night. I just want to say thank you for making this process easy. We took a different route with our oldest son and it was not as straight forward. From the start you all were great at returning calls/emails when I was asking questions about your company, to scheduling his classroom portion, to the quick behind the wheel. We appreciate all that you do to make the process quick and easy. We will be recommending you all to our friends and neighbors.

Fantastic experience: We are greatly appreciative of this driving school. Once they get your teen student in their queue they are fast about getting them driving and all the hours in they need. They also help out with tips to pass their written test. Our son’s instructor gave great instruction and advice to both him and us as parents.

Fantastic experience: FINALLY GOT MY LICENSE at the age of 30!! Lol I did 2 lessons with Randy, and he is awesome. He really gave me confidence, and was pretty funny lol he helped me be comfortable. I used the driving school vehicle to take the road test, and I was able to practice for an hour before going to the DMV. I struggled with bad anxiety when driving, but I feel much more comfortable now and finally passed! Thanks! Also, anytime I called for help or questions, Casey always returned my calls and she was very nice as well!

Fantastic experience: As far as I’m concerned Carolina Roads deserves to be a 5 star business! Every interaction I’ve had with them has been professional and thorough! My sons online teacher and driving teacher were fantastic! They made every step of the way easy! I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Carolina Road Driving School was a great experience for our 15 year old daughter. The instructional portion was done live online over the summer and behind the wheel followed later. The instructors were awesome (both were really exceptional!) and the timeline I had been given upfront was very accurate. Now it's off to the DMV!

Negative experience: Do better at teaching others how to properly drive. Seriously. The tropical storm presented so many drivers that almost killed themselves and so many others on the road. Chief issues: - Following too closely - Highly improper speeds for inclement conditions - Turn signal usage - Trailer towing and semi speed and lighting

Positive experience: I paid for the class and the driving portion as a pack, I’ve been calling, texting, emailing, almost daily now to try to get the driving portion scheduled. I cannot get anyone to call me back. It’s been 13 weeks since finishing the class portion. It is getting frustrating. UPDATE: Casey got back to me and it sounds like she is a one-man team for the company. I can’t even imagine what that’s like. Anyways, she got me scheduled with plenty of time to spare. Thank you so much for your help and diligence. To the owners of Carolina driving school, get Casey some help!

Negative experience: Paid 400$ for drivers Ed for my daughter. She passed the online portion and has been waiting two months to take the drivers portion. I have emailed them twice and called every week for three weeks to speak to someone about when she will be scheduled for the drivers portion or if she is unable to please refund my money and have not heard anything back.

Fantastic experience: This school is awesome!!! I had Mrs Louise as a teacher and drive instructor, she was awesome! Everyone was very kind and helpful.

Fantastic experience: My daughter did a 6 hr driving course with Mr.Bruce. He was very professional and thorough, and now I am very confident with my daughter driving before I was very nervous but with his training I'm not anymore. I would recommend if you're looking for a driver to go with Mr. Bruce.

Fantastic experience: Had my lessons with Mr. Bruce. Fun to talk to and he makes the atmosphere comfortable for driving. School also helps you with scheduling. Price is reasonable compared to other driving school. Recommends.

Fantastic experience: I can honestly say Carolina Driving School is a great company. With me being 36yrs old and attempting to get my license for the first was overwhelming. Mr.Bruce who was my driving instructor was extremely patient with and genuinely cared if I got my license. This company and my instructor was a God send and I am truly grateful for them

Fantastic experience: Over the last 10 years, I have had a few chances (3 kids) to interact with Carolina Road Driving. They are always professional, show up for Behind-The-Wheel (BTW) when they say they will and the pricing is great because you get one-on-one BTW training that takes less time than in other situations. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I found Carolina Road driving school for my teen daughter to be absolutely perfect. They are very flexible with the schedule and the students are allowed to miss a number of days and make them up. They gave them ample practice test so they prepared for the written test. Additionally there Driving Instructor’s were calm and very professional but even more importantly pick you up at your house so my daughter‘s first experience behind the wheel was coming out of her driveway and in her neighborhood which was absolutely fantastic. Best experience

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Experience! My 14 yo son just completed the course and has completed the driving portion as well. He felt safe when driving and thought the course was very helpful. The instructors were on time, communicated very well with the class and parents. If you are considering using them, I would highly recommend. MUCH easier than what WCPSS offered!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Carolina Road Driving School. Calls were returned promptly and scheduling was done quickly. The front office staff and the driving instructor were phenomenal! What more can you ask for? I highly recommend them!

Negative experience: this school is terrible, i failed my drivers license test and that was the only vehicle i had to use for my test so now here i am 2 months later trying to figure out how im going to retake my test. i pad 350 for 6 hours which is ridiculous and they schedule everything so far apart. i didnt feel comfortable driving. its not worth the high price and they are not flexible with scheduling at all. lets say something comes up in your schedule and you call to cancel a day before..they STILL charge you a $25 late fee and have no sympathy for your situation what so ever. for the prices and fees they charge they should GUARANTEE that you pass your test instead of the instructor just sitting back letting you drive and not really teaching you anything.

Negative experience: this school is terrible for new drivers i paid for six lessons only received four the lessons were suppose to be consecutive but after the first two lessons my lessons were spread so far apart that i just did not want ro finish also i had two lessons left i called the instructor about wwhether or not i could give them to my grand daughter instructor said she would talk to some in the office about it but i have never heard anything more about it which means i am just out of my money this school is not a good school at all i would not give any stars but it seems you have to put at least one star in order to post a review

Fantastic experience: I absolutely had the best experience with Carolina Road Driving School. From the scheduling to the actual driving experience, it was great. I had to reschedule my appointment twice because of my work schedule and the office staff was completely understanding both times. Never once did they make me feel like I was a burden for rescheduling. The office staff were very friendly and quick to help me. My instructor was awesome. From the moment my lesson started, I felt very comfortable. Mr. Smith is a great instructor. I would definitely recommend Carolina Road Driving School to my friends.

Negative experience: My son needed a defensive driving class for a traffic violation he had. He needed a 4 hour class. My son called to find out about when they give the class. Later when my son called back to schedule a class they wanted to charge an additional $25 no show fee claiming that he had made a reservation. We decided to look else where. They told him it would be $100 + $25 (no show fee). Other schools in our area only charge $60 for the same class.
