Negative experience: Review was previously taken down for some odd reason. Guess they don't want others to know of their bad business. John acted passive aggressive and unprofessional with me who was at the time, a teenage girl. Can you imagine a full grown man trying to tear down a young person like that when they just wanted to get their license? He also stole money from me and added it as an extra charge. It clearly was just him wanting to steal extra cash. John is an absolutely pathetic person to teach you.

Negative experience: Terrible driving school service i set an appointment for 11:00am to 7:30 doing a driving clinic for a ticket i had gotten having to pay 100$. I got here early 10:54 and no one had shown up since it is now 11:35, i have called the place and have went straight to vociemail mutiple times with no response. You go inside the building no one is there the man has one office with other organizations around him a woman who us a therapist comes out and just tells me hes not here right now bad service overall he didnt show up come here if you want to be stressed out about your suspended license. This goes to show how bad the system is the dmv nor the police will help you they will just tell you find another driving school before we take your liscense over “speeding” in a safe way.

Fantastic experience: This driving class was so amazing, honestly glad I took it instead of something online. I left with the most valuable life and driving lessons. It was engaging, it was informative.

Negative experience: Total SCAM!

Negative experience: Set appointment 2 times, called multiple times, got a callback an hour later, got put on hold for 5 minutes and told they'll call me back in an hour, nothing after 10 hours. No emails, no texts, nothing, awful communication and no sense of urgency.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience with A 2 Z driving academy in Manassas! John was super helpful and a great instructor! I’m super grateful I was able to get my driving license certificate even during a pandemic!

Fantastic experience: Took a defensive driving course here. Was an overall great informative experience. The instructor found great ways to personally connect analogies to life in order to express the importance of safe driving. Good place to re-learn the key points of safety!

Fantastic experience: My cousin and I both used this school for adult behind the wheel. We both drive with John and we both agree that it was a wonderful experience. I was very nervous to start driving, but even by the end of the first lesson i felt so much more comfortable. I ended up learning much faster then I thought I could, driving on the highway, through busy streets, work zones, etc. I don't think I could've learned this fast with any other instructor. I recommend this school to everyone. Thank you for a great experience!

Fantastic experience: I had to take a drivers improvement class issued by the court and decided to go take it here let me just say I’m glade I choose this place John was an amazing instructor and you can tell he cares about his customers I learn a lot and I have a different way of thinking while driving thanks to him.

Fantastic experience: I had a lot of trauma associated with driving. My instructor, Jon, helped me overcome all of that fear and trauma and I got my license! I will recommend this place to anyone I know struggling with learning to drive.

Negative experience: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, I do not say “totally dishonest” lightly but that would be putting it mildly. In February my son took mandatory training from this company, as per agreed they needed to file it with the DMV. They did not, and my son who is away in college got his licence suspended. After repeated promises to call us back, which they never once did, the ‘School” Admitted fault and promised to resolve it the next day and call me back. She blamed in on a "computer glitch" that they already knew about. This marks the first of a never ending line of excuses. Off course they did nothing. Several UN returned calls latter I once again got a hold of Ms Hover. A woman who is truly not to be trusted. Going on May 1st I finally got a hold of her again this time she acted like this was my first time call, and she didn't know me. She asked to call me back as she had other lines ringing. (her typical way of getting off the phone) I refused as she has NEVER once kept her word and returned a call. She then gave me a new excuse (this would be the 4th after her sick kid excuse) never before used this entire time, a brand new one and that she “needed to talk to my son because he was the student” ALTHOUGH she has not made a single effort to contact him. I am certain this is because she felt it was now time to just give him a run around. To fix this I now need to spend another $175.00 with the DMV After I informed her she can deal with me she hung up. I called back, no answer Tomorrow I am filling a complaint with the county, small claims court and BBB. 5-3-18 just a quick update so far as we all expected no return call, no attempts of any kind to contact us and they still haven't done their job and filed it. We have submitted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and are filling out the small claims court paper work now, will update later.

Fantastic experience: I was so nervous of driving so when John picked me up for my first lesson, he was so patient and helped me calm down. Within an hour of my lesson, I was already feeling confident. If you're a nervous driver, I highly recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: I took training on Stick Shift/Manual Transmission with John, and I'm glad I did. I've always wanted to learn stick, and John was a patient and informative instructor. I had never even touched a gear shifter before so I was nervous just getting started, but after 3 two-hour sessions, I felt confident enough to go and get myself a manual car. The lessons were paced very well, and allowed me to build up confidence with a knowledgeable instructor. The first two lessons were in residential neighborhoods, and the third lesson took place on busier streets and the highway. By the end, we had methodically gone through every scenario I could imagine, from winding curvy roads, to starting up steep hills, to merging into highway traffic, and even little tricks like simulating how to start a car with a dead battery by rolling down a hill. I definitely recommend this driving school for learning stick.

Fantastic experience: I moved to the states not very long ago and was very nervous about learning to drive as i had no real prior driving experience. However John really helped me with this transition. He was very patient and professional in teaching me safe defensive driving techniques. There was no yelling whatsoever and i'd say that it has really helped me increase my confidence in driving. Fantastic experience: I had to take a driver improvement class (DMV mandated) for a speeding ticket I had received, and found A 2 Z. From the moment I called for information and registered for the class I was treated with great customer service. The instructor of the class was John and he was very knowledgable and patient in explaining all content. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Finding a driving school to learn to drive stick-shift near Washington, DC proved to be a challenge. However, A2Z Driving Academy and my instructor, John made the trip out to Virginia worth it. John is an excellent and patient teacher. He not only taught me the mechanical skills to drive, but with his tips, clear instructions and professional demeanor gave me the confidence to drive on the road and highways with ease. John helps you run through different scenarios so that you don't panic when you car, inevitably, stalls as a beginner driver. With John's guidance, you will be able to drive safely and confidently here or abroad.

Positive experience: I took the teenage Behind the Wheel, and I got my license within a couple weeks. The instructor was friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I did two 2 hour manual transmission lessons in order to pass the manual transmission exam at UPS. After the lessons i was able to pass the UPS manual transmission test driving a 1992 truck with no power steering. Great teacher and was on time.

Fantastic experience: After trying unsuccessfully to learn how to drive with both of my parents, I called A2Z driving academy. They scheduled me in right away, giving me my first lesson within three days of my first call. I signed up for three 2-hour lessons. My instructor, John, was very patient and always explained my questions (and mistakes) calmly. There was no yelling or berating when I messed something up. He taught me several defensive driving techniques, as well as how to park normally and parallel park. After three lessons, he said I was ready to go; I took and passed the DMV road test on my first try, three days later. I think it's worth noting that I'd had maybe 10 hours of driving experience over the 5 years previous - the fact that John got me over my anxiety and ready to go within 6 hours is something of a miracle. A2Z prepared me very well for the DMV road test and I can honestly say that I am now comfortable driving pretty much anywhere. If you're a nervous or anxious adult driver, I'd highly recommend these guys!

Fantastic experience: I signed up for a three class course on manual transmission training with A2Z Driving Academy and I was very impressed with the course. John, my instructor, was very professional and offers his students a variety of skill-sets to operate a manual transmission, under various scenarios. He guides the student through the operation of the transmission, cycling through the gears, which is appropriate to use, and small tricks that can help in operating the car while keeping in mind the student's progression in the course. I learned a great deal from this course, and I appreciated that John would allow me to clam my nerves before progressing in the course by practicing my technique. For anyone wanting to learn manual, I highly recommend A2Z Driving Academy to get some valuable information in-car class time in a manual car.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to learn how to drive a stick shift because I ordered a car with one that I'd been wanting for a while. I was able to start my classes within two weeks of making my initial call. My instructor (John) was always on time and ready to teach, and conducted himself professionally throughout the course of instruction. He was also knowledgeable, drawing upon his personal experience with various types of manual transmission cars. The instruction was well structured. I started off with the basics of clutch operation and getting going from a stop. I was then gradually introduced to consecutively higher gears and finally reversing. The instructor provided driving environments well suited to the tasks at hand. I learned how to get going on hills, recognize appropriate gears for specific situations, best avoid stalls, and just get generally comfortable with a manual transmission. After my three sessions of instruction, I am confident in my ability to operate a manual transmission car, and look forward to putting my skills to use in my own vehicle. I endorse A2Z's stick shift training course for anyone interested in learning this skill.

Fantastic experience: I needed to learn to drive a stick shift prior to travelling to Europe. John fit me into his schedule on short notice. I live over an hour away but A2Z is the only place I could find in Virginia that teaches driving with a manual transmission. He was a good teacher and I feel much more comfortable than I thought I would after just two hours of training. Great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who needs driver training.

Fantastic experience: I received my license from A 2 Z Driving and am beyond happy I worked with them! My instructor, John, was always very calm on the road and did not make me feel nervous about driving. He was always a nice and enjoyable person to be around and taught me very well! The receptionists were awesome about contacting me and fitting the lessons to my schedule. Overall it was a great experience and I would suggest A 2 Z Driving to any teen eager to get their license!

Positive experience: The behind the wheel itself was very professional and educational. The instructor taught not just judged and I learned a lot of little things. My only problem would be the receptionists who never really helped me no matter how many times, many times they said they would call me back and never did.

Negative experience: Awful customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner is never around, at least that's what the recepcionist says. And speaking of recepcionist, someone should teach that Tiffany lady some manners!!!!! She's condescending, useless in providing information about the school, and refuses to work with you in trying to create a schedule that's convenient for the CLIENT. I guess she forgets who is paying!!! I'm taking my business somewhere else!!

Fantastic experience: Very professional, knowledgeable and on time instructor. We were impressed with the amount of feedback, safety and driving tips given. My daughter received every driving lessons before being tested. We also attended the 90 minute parent/student seminar offered by A 2 Z which was very informative as well. We will be using this Academy again for our son in the near future. I would recommend this driving school to any parent wanting good, quality driving lessons for their child.

All the instructors are very polite, organized, have a positive attitude and are licensed. It is a professional family -like healthy environment, also certified by DMV .
