Desert Knight CDL School

Negative experience: One star because you can not give zero. The instructors here are rude, they belittle you if you have any difficulties doing anything. With the exception of Jimmy. Jimmy has always been cool. I still would not recommend going here.

Very family oriented and forget everyone else they take time and show u the right way boss lady is amazing mike is dope he showed me the best hands on experience matt is super cool jesse is very calm Stephen has alot of knowledge and Justin in my opinion is one of the best professional teachers to put u on game and look no where else I'm a proud cdl driver thanks to desert knight cdl school....! Much love got a job right outta school and now I'm making great money changed my life ...!

Fantastic experience: Professional staff and seasoned instructors. I was working a night shift during my enrollment and they were very accommodating to my odd schedule. You have to pay close attention and attend class at least once or twice per week if you want to see improvement. Ask a lot of questions. The instructors are very knowledgeable and know techniques that will help you grasp the concepts, if you're having issues. I highly recommend watching their pre-trip video and poring over the study material in your spare time. Also, ask about tuition assistance. They can direct you to state sponsored programs that will make it easier and accessible for anyone looking to start their career. I definitely recommend this CDL school.

Negative experience: The trucks are constantly breaking down. They have too many students in one call so theres no real one on one time with the instructor. 5 out of 8 students continue to fail the dmv test which i think is directly linked to the instructos competence to teach. I constantly hear rants about politics instead of learning to properly drive. I dont recommend going to school here.

Fantastic experience: If you’re trying to learn to drive a semi truck, take a refresher course or go up in endorsements look no further. They have some of the nicest trucks in the area. I looked at “other schools” in Reno and and Carson City and the “other schools” had abused trucks with large class sizes and the biggest problem, a time limit.(A real problem if you have a full time job). After finding Desert knights I knew this was the place I wanted to learn at. Small classes virtually 1-1 go at your own pace and patient instructors. They’re a local, family owned and veteran run outfit. A no nonsense, get you where you want to be going business. Jesse, Boss lady, Mike, Stephen, Matt and Jimmy are the best in the business. Thank you, to the hard working team at Desert knights! Turn your dreams into reality!

Negative experience: Called the other day and the man who answered the phone was rude. I was calling to ask about the tuition. He very rudely said "I can take 50% down and the rest you have to pay and the end of the class". So how is it that you advertise that tuition is $4,500 but I have to pay 50% upfront. Which means that tuition is not $4,500. Other schools charge about have this, cover the whole thing and I don't have to pay it back UNTIL I get my CDL. Was this guy just having a bad day?

Fantastic experience: Excellent truck driving school!!! I upgraded from a class B to A. They made sure I was knowledgeable and proficient in the truck. Would recommend this school to anybody who is interested in becoming a professional driver. Thanks again!!!

Fantastic experience: In 2020 I was down on my luck and miserable at my regular job. I went to a bad trucking school prior to Desert Knight CDL school. From the moment I first visited this school I knew this place was going to change my life. Mike, Steve, Jesse, Boss Lady and staff run a very positive, uplifting, energetic and inspiring CDL school. I’m living my dreams now and it all started with my first phone call that boss lady answered in 2020 and the first time I walked through the door of this school. I’m telling you all, this school is well worth its weight in gold.

Fantastic experience: I would like to Thank Desert Knight CDL School and it's Driving instructors for their patience and understanding and helping me succeed in achieving my class A CDL. I work full time overnight and it was very difficult To focus on my skills. Desert Knight let me work on my own schedule until I achieved my goal. They made sure I perfected my pre trip and driving skills and once I was ready, I took my state test and passed. Negative experience: Why would you post on your website saying if you pay cash you get a discount, but then i call and the Rude Secretary says as far as i know he’s charging 3,200$ for tuition? Can i believe the rest of the storyline?

Fantastic experience: What a great school. The other schools I had the option to go to were so strick about getting you in and pushing you out. Money money money is all they seemed to care about. Even if you absolutely had to miss a day it was a huge deal. Desert Knight is not like that at all they actually care about you and training you for a better future. You are able to attend and still able to work if needed, go to a doctors appointment, take care of a sick kid, whatever life throws at you. Those unavoidable situations that may come up will not get you kicked out of school and left still owing tuition.The staff takes a personal interests in every students progress individually. They give you their time and will work with you to make sure you are ready for your dmv test. The staff is wonderful and are real genuine people who love what they do and arent only looking for a paycheck. The owner Jesse is a Vietnam Vet, and I have great respect for this amazing guy and how much he has helped change my future for the better . As for the approach to the curriculum it is spot on they prepare you completely for each part of the state exam. Leaving you confident in your abilities and properly trained. Fantastic experience: I signed up to Desert Knight CDL School on short notice because i found out that i needed a commercial license in order to gain the promotion i had been testing for a year prior to learning i wouldnt be considered without one. Jesse took me on short notice after hearing my dilemma and under the guidance of Michael and Steve i was able to get my cdl in just a few weeks. I showed up early and left late and anytime i wanted training, advice or knowledge i recieved it in a easy to understand way. This is another way for me to thank Jesse, Michael and Steve for helping me get my license(Thank You Guys!). Give Desert Knight CDL School a call if you need a commercial drivers license, they will make it happen.
