Buffalo CDL Training: Reviews
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible !!!!! All of the reviews are terrible for a reason !! If you need good training go to CDL ACADEMY!!!
Negative experience: Some guy named Bill called me from their phone and was screaming after I talked to another gentleman about the courses they offer. I had the money in my hand to pay for the course before this individual reached out for whatever reason. Completely unprofessional and ignorant.
Positive experience: I had the best and great experience with Buffalo CDL institute. During my training I had access to the truck any time I needed it compare to other school where you only have limited time ( I mean less than two hours daily and a bunch of students…Craps). I got my CDL class A here with no issues at all. Mr Bill great guy and Mr Scott the best trainer ever. All I can say thank you guys. So now my advice is to who ever wanna get his(her) CDL and have access to the truck anytime for the training purposes please go for Buffalo CDL institute.
Negative experience: I’m not sure if the guy who answers the phone has a mental/behavioral disorder, or if he was thrown off by my British accent, but I made an enquiry & he was so rude and sarcastic. It was a very weird experience, because I’m actually polite and pleasant. I asked him to not be so aggressive & he started shouting at me
Negative experience: Very nasty attitude, the guy I spoke with on the phone when inquiring about my cdl was very rude, smart mouthed and unhelpful.
Negative experience: Literally would give -5 stars if i could
Fantastic experience: He’s good guy and respect woman’s ! And other guy Scott very helpful, definitely recommend
Negative experience: Very poor service, don't recommend!
Negative experience: 000000000they not answer my cell or my question
Negative experience: Parks his business vehicle in handicap designated parking spots with no tags and gives other handicap people rude comments when they question him about it!
Negative experience: Do not, for the love of God, learn to drive from William J. Thygesen. There is so much wrong with who he operates and with him in general. There is a reason most other schools have a waiting list for learning to drive, but he does not. First, the 5 Hour Test is done wrong. The office is a literally mess, with boxes and papers everywhere, and a literal stolen shopping cart being used as a shelf of some kind. His Vehicle is often dirty, filled with discarded food wrappers, takeout bags, bottles, etc. On top of that, the car seems to often have some kind of trouble with it, ones even I, knowing little of vehicles, questioned him on and he refused to acknowledge. Either He or the Car smells, horribly. He only takes cash, and via the reviews here as well as calls he has answered while I was in the car with him, he doesn't give refunds back properly, if at all. He teaches in the "5 Points off for this mistake, but I am not going to tell you how to correct it" way. He limits Driving to where the car can advertise to College Students, despite hating many of them for not properly speaking English, often speaking out loud about the number of foreign students and speaking badly of them. He seems to have little regard for pedestrians, especially if they do not cross properly on a crosswalk, even if they are only 2 feet off of it. He refused to take me to my Road Test or let me schedule my final driving lesson with him that I paid for because someone else after me scheduled their road test for the same time, and because it was a CDL license, he took their money but never refunded me for my missing lesson nor took me to my Road Test. He scheduled my Road Test so far away from my home or his work that I had trouble getting to it. He threatened to cancel my Road Test because I had my friend, a lawyer, call him about my missing lesson and him not taking me to the Road Test, which was part of the paid agreement.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional. His mouth and attitude is very nasty. I should've known better when we went to the office and it looked abandoned from the outside. His training car is digusting, it's filthy like he lives out of it, and it smells!!! My daughter had a 1:00pm lesson, she saw him pull up, grabbed her jacket and when she went outside he had already pulled off!! I called and asked, "what happened because you pulled off when my daughter was coming out", his reply was, "maybe she should've came out faster". I was appalled!! It was literally 1:03pm!! He said he wasn't coming back and that I needed to reschedule. I told him I wanted a refund because we wouldn't be continuing, he said I needed to write a letter requesting a refund. When I asked to whom should I write the letter, his response was, "Buffalo CDL, that's who you paid isn't it?" Someone recommended him because he was a little cheaper than the other driving schools, so I didn't think to look at the reviews. I really wish I had because looking at them now it seems as though getting my refund won't be easy. I really hope I don't have to take him to court. He needs to be shut down.
Negative experience: My husband decided not to take his classes after paying him. Per the signed receipt it states refund can take up to 8 weeks. It has been nearly 8 weeks so I called Bill to inquire and he threatened to take another 10 weeks if I called again after screaming at me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Negative experience: Bad customer service
Negative experience: HES TERRIBLE. HES A THIEF. He stole my money when I asked for a refund and he basically refused to give it back to me so I lost 375. Do not go here. He’s a miserable person, rude and nasty. Karma will get him
Fantastic experience: Great instructor
Negative experience: He is the worst person I ever met in my life. If you’re not American don’t take license course from him. He is the rudest person I ever seen. I wear hijab and that guy was so races toward me . When I wanted the refund he didn’t give back my money. Please don’t take license classes from him. He doesn’t have any manners.
Negative experience: Do not train here. The experience of driving a Semi truck v. A Car is vastly different because of turning. You will not get a reliable or realistic experience here.
Negative experience: The guy who handles the phone have zero customer service, zero manner. I bet his parents aren't proud of him. I would never do business with this company again.
Negative experience: Owner bill is a crook and scam artist. I dont know how he hasn't been shut down yet
Negative experience: CDL training using a car?
Negative experience: The owner of this company is unbelievably rude, unprofessional, and seemingly mentally-unstable. I would warn anyone interested in this company to run in the opposite direction, and to choose ANY other company to earn their CDL through.
Negative experience: Here is my experience about buffalo cdl training in Niagara falls Blvd previously in Kenmore Ave ... simply it was the worst experience I ever had in my entire life. I wanted to get cdl licence to work as a truck driver. Unfortunately I found buffalo cdl training close to my house so I went to apply in there. The owner of this school ( Bell ) cares ONLY about my money. I paid him more than 3k in cash. I started training. They are not professionals specially that time when I drove with Bell himself. He frustrated me to the point I was about to have an accident more than twice. He was yelling and screaming like I work for him, not a customer who just paid him 3k for this training. I decided to cancel my training coz I could not stand these people way and of course I asked him for my refund. He started playing games on me by saying after 8 weeks then 4 more weeks then 4 more weeks. It's been more than one year and I did not get my refund till the moment I'm writing this review. Just I wanted to warn people of this school coz I don't want any good person to get ripped off by this school. As a reminder , This Buffalo cdl training(Niagara falls boulevard, Amherst) is the biggest scam. Don't believe anything the owner says as a reply to any review. First of all , there is no loyal customers because simply the owner William J has a long list of customers who are waiting to get their money back (refund) and of course they don't get anything because he does not pay and he told me take me to the court. He does not care. Any negative review you read in here is 100 % true and any positive review is just a scam from the owner to get more good people then to rip them off. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME GETTING A TRAINING AT THIS SCHOOL BECAUSE SIMPLY THEY DON'T TEACH YOU NOTHING AND IF YOU WITHDRAW FROM THE TRAINING YOU DON'T GET YOUR MONEY BACK NEVER EVER. THIS SCHOOL(SCAAAAM) IS A REAL JOKE AND THIS OWNER I DO NOT KNOW WHY HE IS NOT BEHIND BARS UNTIL NOW.
Negative experience: This guy just called me with a horrible attitude saying o called him, but I have my license since 7 months ago on my own and he was just rude screaming “why are you fkn calling if you have a license” I was like I haven’t called you at all and he was trying to go back and forth “disregard, don’t ever call here again” he never said his name but going by the reviews it has to be the owner that’s known to have rude attitude. Again, he called with a rude voice, never gave his name just said Buffalo CDL training and gave me nasty attitude when I responded that I haven’t called and asked him if he prolly got my info from an old email or something? Not sure how someone with ZERO customer service have a business for prospective professional CDL drivers. I looked into this place OVER a year ago, their prices and way of work was definitely not something I wanted to work with, too expensive and the classes weren’t guaranteed because he could call out a class if anything came up “in his life”. This place should get reviewed more so others are aware of his poor quality performance and extremely high prices.
Negative experience: Poor mannerisms and very messy storage room he calls a classroom!
Negative experience: Scam. He has the equipment sometimes. But when the tractor gets repo'd cause he dont pay his Bill's, then he has nothing. Straight scumbsgs here. Never a good guy unless you have money. The give you the answers to the written so you don't even learn anything again, straight scumbags.
Fantastic experience: Bill and his assistant Jordan were super easy and friendly to deal with , I was provided on day 1 all the information needed for the written test along with video's. Both Bill and Jordan guided me with there knowledge and experience for both on the road and off the road driving skills to help me through he process and get a GREAT understanding for driving with commercial license. Buffalo CDL was easy and informative.. thanks guys
Negative experience: Does not refund your money. Must be on drugs. Very disrespectful. I don't know how but there have been many comments and reviews about this place from years back that have been deleted
Negative experience: Bill Thygesen is a con. Steals money from people & never provides the class. I don't understand how this man is not in jail for all his scams.. TOTAL SCUMBAG!!!
Negative experience: Trash ! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, HE IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND LIKE TO RUN HIS MOUTH ABOUT THINGS THAT DOESNT INVOLVE TEACHING YOU HOW TO DRIVE. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER DRIVING SCHOOL
Negative experience: If I could rate it a 0 I would. This place is a joke. The man who runs its, William Thygesen is a scam artist. My husband had to take him to small claims court and was awarded over $2000 in August and Mr. Thygesen refuses to pay...don't waste your money.
