Metro Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: So called instructor spent most of his time on his phone during sessions. Loser with an attitude. Look elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: I was a great experience and I can dirge like a pro now I drive everywhere and I know what to do in three weeks.
Fantastic experience: I Attended drivers Ed here, The class and drivers instruction Prepared me well for the road test and future driving. Everyone is super friendly and provided me with a great drivers Ed experience.
Fantastic experience: The in classes were awesome with Rob! He was an amazing teacher and made the class fun! Eli was an amazing instructor! He made me feel relaxed and ready for my test! If you need to go to driving school, I would highly recommend this one!!
Fantastic experience: They have really great instructors, that are very helpful. I passed my road test the very first try, thanks to them!
Negative experience: Drivers ed classes were okay. In cars with Ali was a joke. Russell was a good instructor, and really helped me in the last lesson I had to take with him. But the three in cars I took with Ali were useless and a waste of money. Considering how expensive in cars are, you figured she would have given me good instruction and took me to do maneuverability in every lesson she has with me. Instead, she discussed her family drama and the surroundings and decorations on the houses. I know more about her latest house renovation and family problems than rules of the road and maneuverability. She managed to be so unprofessional she decided to tell me her dating preferences (She has decided "she doesnt date black guys"). I would highly recommend Charles or Russell. If you can avoid Ali I aboslutely would. 15 to 20 minutes of each lesson I had with her, she would take her break in the parking lot of the maneuverability space. During this break we would sit parked while she ate food and talked about herself some more and I just sat on my phone annoying with how the lesson was going. My 3 in cars with ali were deeply disappointing and only 2 of them she even took me to do maneuverability. We missed out one time because she decided it was time for her break and to eat food while I sat in silence. Avoid Ali if you want to pass your driver's test.
Positive experience: Calm class. You will actually learn and your driver instructor will make sure u learn .
Negative experience: Very boring and you watch videos from 1793 and you can’t leave when your done and forced to watch Dr.phil
Negative experience: I wish I could give 0 stars! Their records were not correct. Upcharge for paying with a card. Messages went unanswered, by the time we were able to reach someone to get the account corrected & paid they were 7 wks out on scheduling the in car driving sessions required...which you cannot see until you are paid in full. For us the driving would have started past when our driver reached 18. The staff were rude & actually hung up on me when I asked for the name of who I spoke to. The location has large potholes in the parking & drive way.
Fantastic experience: Scott and Christina Haley know and understand young drivers. They run an efficient business and their decades of experience shows. Our child passed her driving test first time, and was told by the examiner she was an excellent driver. I attribute much of that to Metro Driving School. Mr. Haley maximizes each minute of the class to insure student know how to drive, and more importantly, emphasis the magnitude of responsibility that comes with getting behind the wheel of a two ton piece of metal. As a fellow driver, I appreciate him producing a few more responsible, focused drivers to share the road. The in-car instructor Patti was always on time, and took extra care to make sure my child understood what she was doing. They all do an outstanding job in a very challenging industry. I am glad they were there for us. For a family who takes driving seriously, I highly recommend them.
Positive experience: Metro driving school is a great school. I'm on my second try getting my license because of a careless mistake I made but that does not discredit the school. My instructor is Ali. She is great at explaining the laws of the road and giving you good instruction. The method she teaches for maneuverability does work for your test so trust it with all your being. I love the rates of the school and I would recommend. Fingers crossed I get my license on the second try. Yay for passing maneuverability the first time!
Fantastic experience: Aly's the best. I've gotten my license on my second try, passed the driving first maneuverability second. Aly is very patience with new drivers and i recommend everybody to go to Aly .
Negative experience: Poor driving school, waste of money...
Positive experience: Scott, the class room teacher has his good and bad moments, Mrs Haley is nice , Patti is the best driving instructor in the state. Kathy is unqualified for the job and is ratchet....
Fantastic experience: My instructor was Patti she was awesome. I highly recommend her. She is a very pleasant lady, with a huge personality. Patti will make you feel very comfortable with her. She is a great teacher.
Fantastic experience: patti's the best driving instructor, make sure you request her! :)
Fantastic experience: Very nice and friendly school and reasonable . Working around my nephew school hours . Open later hours too. Highly recommend !!!!!
Fantastic experience: Reading all the reviews, i requested for a class with Patty and had my first class with her last week. I give her two big thumbs up! I have always been nervous of driving and am glad that instead of fiddling around in the parking lot, she just put me right on the roads... I am looking forward to my next class and hopefully I get my license soon! :)
Negative experience: I had a horrible experience; I complained and was given patty ; she was so nice and kept it real ; she helped me more than ever . Ali really didn't teach me anything bt patty was a real good teacher .
Positive experience: Decent class but Kathy driving instructor teaches badly, calls me dumb bastard, she tells false laws patty is awesome she is awesome driving instructor! When in cars ask for Patty!
Fantastic experience: nice driving school the best teacher is aly
Fantastic experience: I have always been a very nervous driver. I am an adult driver and have been procrastinating driving for years, however needed to drive and decided that I wanted the assistance of a driving school to assist me behind the wheel. The scheduling process over the phone was a bit weird, however I was able to schedule all of the driving within the times I needed. I was very fortunate to be paired with Patty. She was very warm and reassuring. She instructed me appropriately, telling me when I made mistakes and she told me how to correct them. She was very honest with me regarding what I needed to work on and we would drive around areas that would help me with these issues. Most importantly, she was very nice to work with and talked to me so that I could become comfortable while driving. I have never felt more at ease while behind the wheel. I passes my test with her assistance, I don't think I could have done it as fast and efficiently if it was not for her. I am very thankful to have driven with her.
Negative experience: HORRIBLE PEOPLE RUN THIS PLACE!!!! They took our money upfront, and now they are being extremely rude, and the old ladies in this office are playing games with us!! I had called to schedule my teen for in car driving, and the owner Mrs Haley, (whose husband John Haley is in class instructor) was very rude, hung up in my face, as did one of the other office ladies. She threatened to not let my teen drive, even though we paid $300 upfront!!! Mrs Haley is nuts, she does not understand the meaning of proper customer service & customer relations!! We want our money back!! Stay away, save your money!!! Hopefully Angies List has reviews on this awful place, I hope they get shut down by the city of Middleburgh Hts. Just HORRIBLE!!!
Fantastic experience: My daughter took the Teen Course at Metro. She really didn't have much driving with me, a beginner. Their instructors are very patient and knowledgeable in their field. I could see her getting more confident after each lesson. The classroom teacher Scott was a very good instructor . He is very professional and his class is conducive to learning. Also, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this school.
Negative experience: They're rude, and one of the driving instructors is pretty racist.
Fantastic experience: if your going make sure you get patti she is the best driving instructer they have i had all 3 of them but overall it is a really good school
Negative experience: My son went through this company last year in March and I was so so very unhappy with them. He only went to 2 classes and 1 btw lesson, then he became very ill and was in and out of the hospital over a 4 month period. All his classes were fully pd. and the behind the wheel lessons I pre pd ($5x 4= 20) so that I knew everything was in order and paid on time..When I called them in July I explained to the woman on the phone about what had happened and tried to set up the classes and the btw lessons that remained, I had also asked her if there was a different btw instructor that my son could use. She questioned me why I felt that was needed and I simply said in my household we do not swear and scream at our kids and the teacher that drove him the one time cursed and yelled at him the entire time. She said to me "We are Catholics and your son is a liar"! Really?! What would be my reasoning to lie or for him to lie about something like that...She then said to me "well he only had 6 months to complete his courses, so he is not welcomed back here" and hung up on me. I called her back and said now miss if you are such a God fearing person then why would you of yelled at me and just hung up when I was being as polite as I could under these circumstances and you just called my son a liar to top it off...A Sick child!!! Then I asked her for a refund, she said well he did have one btw lesson and 2 classrooms sessions...I think the total refund was around $80 out of about $325..Not possible!! If you do the math and divide up the classes, maybe a $100 non refundable fee BUT I ALSO GAVE THEM $20 on top of what I needed to just so he was pre pd. for the driving part...It is almost March 2013, 8 MONTHS LATER AND STILL NO REFUND.!!!! Very unprofessional, they make up rules of their own as they go along... Oh and I also had to replace my flower bed frame, because one of the other students that drove my son home ran over it and of course the teacher never bothered to tell me...NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS PLACE!! Pro Driving School on Ridge Rd. in Parma and similar in price. They are a much better school
Fantastic experience: I found them to be overall very nice. I received an excellent driver's education, in a timely manner, at a reasonable price. When you treat a person with dignity, respect, and truth, you usually get that in return, that's with any business. Responsibility of the student is crucial to success in any course. Know your schedule, be where you said you would be and on time, and you will do great. They have always done their best to accommodate pickups and drop offs for me. I would get picked up at school and dropped off at work, never had a problem. When my children are old enough to drive ( which will be soon ) I will take them to Metro too!
