A&K Driving Austin

Fantastic experience: I tested today with Ms Maria Menchaca and it was an awesome experience. I was very nervous before the test but Ms Maria was so nice and put me at ease completely. She takes the responsibility of testing seriously but still maintains a very calm and friendly attitude. She gave a very detailed summary of where I lost few points, and also makes it a point to give positive feedback. The booking process was smooth and they were able to accomodate my dates for testing. Though I did not have lessons with them, I would highly recommend this school for any one learning or testing. A great experience and once again Ms Maria, thank you. And yes, I passed :-)

Fantastic experience: I was behind the wheel for the first time on 6/28 and started A&K on 7/16. I got my license on 8/12. I was always nervous about driving and didn’t feel the need to start right away, which is why I waited until I was 18 (the summer before college). Maria always made me feel confident and safe behind the wheel. She taught me everything I needed to know for the test, and without her, I wouldn’t have gotten my license—especially so quickly! A&K is also a great option for anyone in the Canyon Creek area or nearby. The scheduling is flexible, and the front desk always makes sure your appointments work out. Another huge bonus is that A&K saves you a trip to the DMV when applying for your license. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience taking adult driving lessons with the affiliated One Stop Driving School where Allen who gave me so much confidence and taught me a lot in a few hours of driving with him. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable and accommodating. Also such a kind person. I also gave the test through A&K with Maria who was super calm, kind and supportive throughout the driving test (she also made sure to give me pointers as I took a quick lesson beforehand).

Negative experience: The worst experience ever, I truly would recommend you try Austin Driving School.I had the 1 hour prep and DPS test I had a man for the prep he was ok we finished he said he thinks I should pass the test, but the lady Maria who I had the test with was so nervous when she first got in the car so unpleasant and unprofessional she kept trying to control the car and was yelling making me super uncomfortable at the very last turn into the school she said you just failed because you turned in to quick??,So the next day I tried Austin Driving School everyone was lovely and I got my licenses and passed the test with no problem the very next day

Fantastic experience: Fair and helpful. Good communication from initial contact until driving test. They will point out mistakes that you make but will quickly help you correct them. The feeling you get from Day One is that you will succeed because they will make sure of it.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I had a fantastic experience with A&K. Adri was amazing and accommodating with my busy schedule. She was kind and understanding. Eddie was fun and easy to talk which helped my daughter feel less nervous. I definitely plan to return to A&K driving in the future.

Negative experience: I bought a DPS Test and an hour of preparation at this school. I have never been yelled at for an entire hour like I was at this school. I studied at another school but decided to take the test at this one because there was time and the school’s rating on the map was quite high. At the school where I was studying, they always spoke to me calmly and politely. During the entire training period, the teacher never touched my steering wheel or steered instead of me. At this school, during that hour of preparation before the exam that I bought, the instructor shouted at me, constantly touched the steering wheel, and tried to steer for me. For some reason, she even signaled to a squirrel in a neighborhood, although there were no cars around, and the animal did not stop me from passing. She was angry that I didn’t make a left turn in front of a truck that was already driving in the same lane and was pretty close to me. She constantly distracted me with her strange phrases when I was driving. I felt terrible; I did not expect such a disgusting attitude from a driving school with such a high rating. As a result, when my exam began, after 2-3 seconds, she shouted "FAILED" (although even in the DPS police, they don’t distract you during the entire route; they let you drive the entire route, and only at the end, they tell you whether you passed or not). I didn’t pass because, in her opinion, I was not driving at the speed she wanted (although, again, even in the DPS police, they only deduct points for this if the difference is minimal and you start to slow down). My speed was within the limit. I'm very upset and would like my money back.

Fantastic experience: I discovered A&K on child #4. Wish I had earlier. They were so helpful and informative, both instructors Allen and Maria were top notch, and their office staff was extraordinary. Maneuvering the requirements for DPS is a headache and they made it easy. I HIGHLY SUGGEST investing in their instruction and in having them administer the Driving Exam. It was lower stress and easy to schedule.

Fantastic experience: My son is currently taking driving lessons here. When I was trying to find a place that wasn't completely booked, I found A&K. I had some trouble booking the lessons online, and the person I called was extremely helpful and stayed on the phone with me until I had worked through all the technical problems (on my end). My son said the instructor for his first lesson was very friendly and made him feel comfortable and confident.

I can say confidently this is the best driving school you can find in Austin and nearby areas. The driving lessons and Allen’s tips are great for driving. Fantastic experience: I will happily and confidently recommend A&k driving school as the best in Austin. I lost my confidence in driving so searching for a driving school that would be welcoming and helpful was stressful but, I came across them and it was stress free with the amazing instructor I had Mr Allen who took his time to explain every steps and techniques gradually even as I had short time with them. From the receptionist who has patience to answer all your inquiries, to pick ups and drop offs they also ensure you receive a reminder email for every class and finally the amazing Mrs Maria who knows how to make a student feel comfortable and confident even as an examiner she still makes sure you are doing the right thing and fit to pass your road test. Which I did ! so thank you A&k driving school.

Fantastic experience: I purchased the 3 hour class pack with pick up/drop off.Scheduling when I wanted the classes was very easy and they email you the day before to remind you. The driving instructor is calm and it was very easy to learn quickly. I got the classes done in less then a week and got my license in the same week! I also purchased the driving exam, once completed and passed they put all my paperwork in an envelope and sealed it and I just had to take it to the DPS to get my license. I would definitely recommend this driving school. Both the instructor and examiner are very helpful and kind.

From the onset they picked up the phone and provided us with all the information needed to get our daughter on the road.
