Freehold Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Both of my children loved their instructors and lessons at Freehold Driving School. The entire staff was professional, friendly and patient. I definitely recommend!
Negative experience: I had bought their services a couple years back for my daughter and the experience was fairly well, however, the service now is terrible. Staff is extremely rude and arrogant, with horrible communication as they never pick up nor return any calls. Instructor arrived late yet and we were never compensated for the missed intructional time. When we stopped by to confirm a driving test appointment, the staff bumped up the prices and refused to honor the price clearly printed on the invoice that they had given us a couple months prior.
Hi Vidyadhar,
We are truly sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the standard we aim for and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We would love the chance to make things right- please call our office at 732-462-6626 so we can discuss things further. If there is no answer due to a high volume of customers, please leave a message and we will call you back.
Thank you,
Freehold Driving School
Fantastic experience: "I had a 6-hour driving lesson with Asif, and he is an incredible instructor. His patience with students is unmatched, and he helped me gain the confidence to sit comfortably behind the wheel. Not only did he teach me parking techniques and the skills needed to pass the road test, but he also made sure I was driving safely, following all the rules of the road. Thanks to his guidance and the confidence he instilled in me, I was able to pass my test on the first attempt. Thank you, Asif!"
Fantastic experience: They are awesome. I gave my first road test and cleared it within a month. It's not like I am a great driver now but atleast I am driving it's my first time behind the wheels I got that confidence because of them. Highly recommend Mr Asif he was my driving instructor.
Fantastic experience: My daughter just finished her 6 hours with Al and he was great! Debbie and her staff were amazing as well! Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Professional, organised, friendly. Make the entire process easy!!!
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience and a great staff. My son was very nervous on day 1 of his lessons. After a few minutes, he was comfortable and confident. German was very patient, knowledgeable and helpful. Debbie was a pleasure to deal with and took care of all the paperwork timely. Thank you very much!
Fantastic experience: We couldn’t have picked a better school to teach my daughter how to drive. Allison Russell was an absolute pleasure. She made us all feel very comfortable. My daughter had a great experience with her. Thank you for everything!
Fantastic experience: My son just completed his 6 hour driving lesson with instructor Will. Will was a great instructor and made my son feel comfortable . Also would like to add that Allison the office manager was great with explaining everything that was needed to submit before the driving lesson, setting up our appointments and giving helpful information. Highly recommend Freehold Driving School and will most definitely use them again.
Fantastic experience: When it came to my sons driving lessons, I knew right where to turn. Eighteen years ago I was a student with freehold driving school myself, so this was a no brainer. Between the office staff and instructors everyone communicates well and answered any questions or concerns. As well as giving pointers to work on after the lessons. No other business to use in this category in my opinion.
Fantastic experience: Very professional, and wonderful teachers. I started out with incredible anxiety, and honesty thought I'd never drive or if I did it would only be local roads in my hometown. Now I'm planning a month long road trip by myself and the driving is the least of my worries.
Fantastic experience: Fast and flexible scheduling where another local school claimed they needed months! Very professional, family run business! Tyler did a great job with my son and was always punctual for appointments. Tremendous job all around, thank you guys!
Negative experience: literally the worst driving school ever, my driving instructor was rude very discouraging and i never thought i could drive until 6 months later until i met someone new. very unprofessional never go here.
Fantastic experience: Thank You so much to Mr. Doug who did the initial 6hrs of driving for her permit and also to Alison who made sure she was fully ready the day of test. You both made her feel so comfortable and had such patience, which made passing her test a breeze! Thank You!!
Fantastic experience: This review is coming from a student that was extremely nervous and had great anxiety at the thought of driving. I never, ever believed I would ever drive. Freehold driving school changed that .. I have a driving license and that’s all due to them. Doug was my instructor and to this day I still go back to keep learning and improving my driving skills. Doug was professional and understanding and calmed my nerves and helped me to focus when my anxiety would get the best of me. Doug boosted my confidence and our chats always made me laugh and I needed that! I highly recommend freehold driving school and thank them for making me a success story.
Fantastic experience: I have taken lessons from Doug and Tyler and you can’t find a better driving school than Freehold Driving School . They are patient, knowledgeable and exceptional instructors. I highly recommend this school and have family and friends who have gone and who are going that will not use anyone else. They are the best!
Fantastic experience: Great experience! Thank you
Negative experience: Front receptionist lady was rude and horrible; driving instructor and other employees were amazing
Negative experience: My driving instructor was absolutely amazing and taught me well. The issue is that passive aggressive women in the front desk was extremely rude to us. She made passive aggressive marks towards us and was being completely unprofessional and unhelpful. I’ve had multiple encounters with her and her attitude was not good. Her customer relations was not good at all
Negative experience: BEWARE!! Do NOT pick Allison as your kids instructor!! She was very pushy and aggressive when scheduling the lessons, and was speaking to my child like he was the parent. During the lessons, she took several lengthy bathroom breaks, made my child drive to the school to drop her stuff off, and was on facebook and playing games on her phone almost the entire time. So unprofessional and I certainly won’t be using her for my younger ones. Car was filthy, covered with chip bags. She also lost my childs birth certificate, as well as the paper stating my son passed his written test.
Fantastic experience: My experience was great with freehold driving school and if you are honest with the instructor about what you know and don't know trust me you will pass your road
Negative experience: The receptionist is more focused on her phone than her customers. They never answer the phone or explain pricing carefully. Customer service needs to improve.
Fantastic experience: This school helped me ace my driving test. I was so nervous, i would have never passed without my instructor. Thank you so much!
Negative experience: Jamal was late for my daughters road test, and made inappropriate comments to my 17 year old daughter.. keep your family safe and stay away. Files to be brought
Jamal does not work for Freehold Driving School. He owns Marlboro and Manalapan Driving School.
Negative experience: Terrible experience with this driving school. The instructor they sent over was extremely rude, impatient and should never be tasked with instructing anyone's nervous teen driver. He would tell her things like "what don't you understand?", "how many times do I have to tell you this?", "I don't know what to do with you?" These are literally things he said repeatedly to her during the six hours she spent with him. I should mention that he had an extremely thick accent and much of the time she couldn't understand what he was yelling at her and if she asked for clarification, he became angrier. She would come home in tears and and discouraged. The second day she came home with a bloody knuckle from when he grabbed the wheel. While I understand it was accidental and he was trying to avoid an accident, a simple "sorry" or "are you ok?" would have been nice. We are now going to pay for extra lessons with another (calmer, more patient) instructor before her driving test. It was a waste of money and unnecessary aggravation. Speaking to the owner was also pointless. She was apathetic and unapologetic.
Fantastic experience: Debbie the owner and her son Tyler are AWESOME!! Tyler is very relatable to young teen boys especially as he naturally builds their driving confidence and skill sets. I would highly recommend this warm and welcoming family run local business to anyone who has a new driver!! All of our children have learned from them ❤️ Thank You Freehold Driving School!!!!
Negative experience: Stay out of private developments please with your student drivers. I had to come out to see a student driver not knowing how to drive on our private property. Thank you!!
Negative experience: The driving instructor was phenomenal and extremely friendly. The problem is the lady on the phone. She is very rude in the phone, and NEVER answers. You must leave a voicemail and if you’re lucky she calls back. The communication is also poor, I signed up for lessons in June and I was told my lessons wild be done in JUNE 14, 17, and 18. I even called to confirm the dates and she said confirmed. The date roles around and no one comes to my house. I called and she tells me the days are in AUGUST, when I was told July and even confirmed it. She also takes bribes to bump lessons up, I signed up June 20th and just got it now. I know a kid who signed up the first week of August 2, paid extra, was all done by the tenth. Also when I walked in and started taking my written test, she said it was okay because she had been in Florida and had COVID 19, so she wouldn’t get sick again. She put her comfort before our health. Overall, I would never come here again. Awful experience, but the driving instructor was great.
Fantastic experience: I used Freehold Driving School for my six hour driving lessons almost two years ago. I am now a licensed driver. Doug was excellent. Thorough, patient, and positive. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: My instructor for the 6 hours was Will. He was very friendly and patient with me all the time while on the road and we also got to know each other. Fortunately, I nailed the parallel parking through the roof thanks to his simple instructions! Thank you, Will! You deserve a raise!
Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend this driving school. Start to finish ( 2 daughters having passed their driving road tests) my experience was exemplary. Mike was a terrific instructor and has tremendous patience. Cars were clean and clearly marked and the door to door service was so convenient.
Fantastic experience: Doug and Debbie are wonderful and treated us and my daughter like family throughout her training and testing. We are forever grateful, and can’t wait to work with you again.
Fantastic experience: My daughter had the pleasure of being taught by Jim and Rich. Both men are total gentlemen. They make you feel like family. Very knowledgeable and friendly gentlemen. My daughter passed the road test first time with much confidence that was built by these two gentlemen. Would highly recommend for sure.
Negative experience: I am not familiar with this driving school for instruction, but I did have a negative experience with one of its drivers in the Hobby Lobby shopping center. The car was clearly marked with the name of the driving school. We were at a four-way stop, and it was my turn to enter the intersection, but the other driver was obviously in a big hurry and cut me off. When I protested, he flipped me off. I'm wondering if this is the image that the Freehold Driving School would like to show to the community when people on staff cannot follow the rules of the road and are vulgar as well. I'm glad that a student was not in the car to witness this behavior. I will encourage my high school students to steer clear of this organization.
Fantastic experience: Did not realize how much the previous driving school lacked until Doug came to give my son a lesson. Amazing - thorough, kind and patient. My son passed the road test! I will absolutely be using Freehold Driving School for my younger child when ready.
Fantastic experience: This school was a total gamechanger for me. Before taking my lessons, I was a nervous wreck when it came to driving. I HIGHLY recommend Richard; he is PERFECT if you are a nervous driver. He is very knowledgable, patient, attentive, and an overall great instructor!
Fantastic experience: Freehold driving school came through in a pinch! Needed to book refresher and road test instructor last minute. Not only did they provide needed instructor, he gave my son great pointers and instilled confidence in him though a rough morning on his birthday! Thanks to Freehold driving school and instructor Mike!
Negative experience: srry
Fantastic experience: Excellent, #1 for mature nervous drivers, and former new Yorker's who are now "forced" to drive in Monmouth County, instructor Doug changed my life, thank you, thank you, my children also drive thanks to Freehold driving school
Fantastic experience: Will was a great teacher
