Alaska Driving Academy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I was so motivated to get my CDL A thinking it was going to be an easy task to take! The first day I was welcome to the lodge by coach Chris and his beautiful wife Missy! There was about 13 of us who was welcome and had a privilege to stay at the lodge for free and go to class! We all didn’t know each other but coach said we will start building and good relationship while we are all staying at the lodge! I didn’t understand that til the first day of class we had the introduction and honestly I felt so overwhelmed with the amount of homework that was given and the amount of things we had to learn! But I’m telling you this it was all worth it because ADA doesn’t just hand class A license to anyone you have to earn it! Coach Chris and every staff at ADA Donny and Matt and a lot others let us know we all have families that drive to and from places everyday and we don’t need just anyone driving on these roads we need safe drivers who are willing to not bend any rules and do it the right way! It was the toughest 1st week learning to multitask trying to do homework and studying and trying to just keep up with getting good grades in the classroom and seeing if I’ll be able to drive a manual that I never did before! But my crew at the lodge all put our heads together and became good friends supporting each other and trying to help out one another when one was struggling! Oh man and the pre trip I gotta say was the most hardest part to get down but thank god here at ADA they have booklets that they give you and it’s very helpful! Also at ADA they give us shifting packets and backing packets! Everything you need to know to become a successful truck driver is here at ADA! The 2nd week was man oh man was probably the most stressful week I was feeling like crying I can’t do it and about to give up! But ADA let you know it’s okay if you make mistakes as long as you fix it and learn from it! So we all study very hard and the last week it’s getting much better! I mean now I can say I know how to do a through pre trip because of ADA! I know how to be safe then sorry! I know how to back up the tractor and trailer now when I thought I couldn’t do it but ADA had a great instructor name Mike thank you for every teaching I will continue to remember! Driving manual is not easy y’all but thank god here at ADA they teach us to upshift and downshift and also have the best instructors to help you with the best ADA picture booklet called Shifting to study! I learned so much here at ADA! They made me feel welcomed and made me feel like family! I can say don’t just think you came here to get handed a CDL A license you will have to earn it! I can say I earned it and we all came here to learn it step by step and taught everything we need to know to join the trucking industry! It’s a blessing to meet ADA they also have a everyday one on one meeting where not only you come here to learn and study hard they sit you down and grade your test in front of us and ask you how your doing and how the family and other halves and doing! They actually make you feel like your welcome and care a lot about you! I’m letting you know if you love challenges and really want to learn the proper way to get your CDL A this is the number 1 place to come because you will learn everything from top to bottom! If it wasn’t for ADA schooling my motivation never would of came thru so thank you guys so much! It’s truly a blessing to come here and learn and fight this journey with you guys! Thank you so much Alaska Driving Academy for this opportunity to learn and become a successful driver!!! ADA
Fantastic experience: I was supper worried about doing my pre trip and they gave me a couple different study packets that helped my figure my flow out and I had it down in now time super helpful
Fantastic experience: When I first arrive to school I was extremely worried about class work load. I knew it was going to be a lot of work. I have had friends come through and they said it was a lot they also told me it was very worth it. After completing the third day or class I had no worries about class work load. They tell you exactly what to study, how long to study and how it will correlate to driving and the industry . I am extremely thankful for the effort all the coaches and instructors have put in to help me reach the finish line.
Fantastic experience: My CDL training here at ADA had me in so many mid emotions/challenges. At first I was worried about many things we are going to do. Like I was worried about shifting, because I personally have zero experience on shifting especially it’s a Semi-truck, and I was worried about pre-trip. My backing up with a big Semi-truck. But now I have face all the learnings and hands-on driving practice, where I gained a lot of understanding of operating a semi-truck safely and efficiently, all the mix classroom/learning from detailed pre-trip, inspections, to doing my best to master my backing up and navigating into tight spaces. Also focusing on the road rules and regulations to making sure that I am fully aware and prepared. Thank you to my coaches/instructors who helped improve all that I need to learn and understand. As well as building up my confidence for being in the program training and teaching me to ensure I was fully prepared for the demands of professional trucking on the road. Thank you to all the teachers/instructors for your hard work teaching and to ensure we are all successfully completing this milestone program we are in and obtaining all our CDL
Fantastic experience: ALSKA DRIVING ACADEMY was recommended to me by my family & a friend. I knew that coming to ADA is gonna be hard, tough, and it’s going to be a big challenge for me. I attended ADA not having no knowledge whatsoever or understanding what truck driving is. I doubted myself and also thought that I would probably fail. First day in class was a little overwhelming and you can tell that coach Chris means business. Coach Chris holds everyone to a very higher standard and teaches you how to push yourself to do your best. He definitely gave out really clear INSTRUCTIONS and EXPLANATIONS on EVERYTHING. A week passing by working with the team of instructors in and out of the classroom I knew I could and any doubts were stripped away. They are dedicated in their teachings of safety BEFORE, DURING, and on the ROAD. They are extremely knowledgeable and willing to in effort to make sure we as well ! You couldn’t ask for a better driving school or more dedicated instructors ! Hat of to ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY!!!
Fantastic experience: Honestly, the worry was more so of not being able to learn or reaching my CDL goals. Before coming to ADA, I had doubts due to my worry of not being able to learn about, backing up, Shifting gears, Knowledge to know about trucks, and my pre-trip. One of my worries while I am driving is shifting to the wrong gear, which may cause a fatality on the road. Also, fearing for livelihoods of others on the road if anything goes wrong. I'm also worried is when backing up that my trailer is not going into the direction that I want it to go. First of all, I would like to thank ADA for taking good care of me, I was surely in good hands. I would like to take this Opportunity to thank ADA for the learning experience to begin my CDL Journey. ADA has taught me many things there is to know of becoming a Commercial Driver, the most important Knowledge that ADA has taught me is the foundation of becoming a safe driver for my life and the life of others. Thankful for my coaches, instructors, and classmates for their guidance, I would not have made it this far. ADA has given me the tools to accomplished the goals that I have set for myself, which is to become a Safe Commercial Driver.
Fantastic experience: The Alaska Driving Academy CDL program was better than I could have imagined it to be, as I was preparing to go to a CDL program I was in need of a place to stay while training instead of taking a class locally in Fairbanks, AK and Alaska Driving Academy did just that. The instructor’s were Fantastic at teaching me how to drive while Double Clutching even with my previous experience of driving a manual transmission, believe me it’s not the same. I will totally give recommendations to whoever wants needs it to go to this school if you are in need of your CDL as Their favorite motto is “ We Go Above and Beyond “ and that they do.
Fantastic experience: For 2 years I have been trying to reserve a seat for class and finally got it fulfilled!! All the instructors at the school are patient and want nothing but the best for you- all you need to do is be open minded and willing to learn! They go above and beyond to make sure you understand and have retained all the information needed to safely operate and maneuver the trucks to become a truck driver. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who comes across me and asks for CDL training suggestions- heck, I’d even send my son there when he’s much older and wants to follow my footsteps. I am super grateful I got the opportunity to get my Class A license with the Alaska Driving Academy!! Thank you all so much!
Fantastic experience: Wow! What an amazing experience. This school highly exceeded my expectations. Great staff, great instructors and teachers and a bunch of new awesome friends. Definitely a life changing experience. At the end you’ll be proud and glad that you did it. Follow your dreams, goals, and all of Dr. D’s instructions Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: I attended this school and have only great things to say about my experience, I came here knowing nothing, and I'm leaving with lots of knowledge, the instructors are great, ADA is the way
Fantastic experience: BEST DRIVING SCHOOL IN THE NATION!! Donny and the other instructors are VERY knowledgeable and really push you to perform at your best! Misty and Adrienne were also very helpful in helping me the whole step of the way to enter the golden gates of obtaining my Class A CDL! I recommend this school over any other school in the state of Alaska! Just ask anybody who has attended this school! Thank you guys for the support throughout my journey and I wish you a farewell! -Jesse Vega
Fantastic experience: There’s a reason why the reviews are all good, and it’s because ADA goes above and beyond. 100% recommend this school.
Fantastic experience: I am forever grateful for the opportunity to attend ADA, It was tough, I had second thoughts, but you give them a month and they’ll give you a life with better opportunities. Appreciate all the staff especially my instructor Magic Mike, Doc, coach Matt and Mark as well as Misses misty and misses Adrienne for helping me get in. Forever Grateful
Fantastic experience: Thanks to Alaska Driving Academy for all the foundational skills that I have learned that would stick with me in my new career! Thanks to Adrienne for keeping in contact with me for a few months while I waited for a spot to get into these classes! I did research on all driving schools and this driving academy was number 1 so it was worth the wait! Big shout out to Dr. D and Matt for building our foundation through the theory of being a commercial driver and rules and regulations! Thanks to all the driving instructors because they all work with you before getting on the road, and last but not least, Thank You Mike, I couldn’t have asked for a better driving instructor! These last 3 weeks been tough, but it is well worth it because Alaska Driving Academy goes above and beyond! Thanks to all my peers, we are family now! Good luck to you all! For anyone that is a new driver or looking to get a CDL, I highly recommend this school, they will work with you daily and by the end of the 3 weeks, you will be happy! Let’s go Game Changers!
Fantastic experience: I was looking to get into the oilfield in Alaska and a Class A CDL is essential for working up north. After looking at what the other schools offer, it was a no brainer. Had to get on the list and wait a few months for the next opening, but very glad I chose ADA. the instructors and staff work very well with students, communicating and teaching the information, every step of the way, to brand new drivers. For the best Driving School In Alaska, look no further. Never leave your future up to chance. Lock it in.
Fantastic experience: Came to ada thinking i knew everything…WRONG. I learned how to pre-trip, upshift and down shift. Very intense training but well worth it. EMPTY YOUR CUP AND ADA WILL FILL IT UP -ALLEN ALA
Fantastic experience: Getting my CDL has been on my to-do list for a while but when it came time to get it I’ll admit I was terrified in my current situation I had a lot on the line so saying it was stressful is an understatement everyday all I could think about was if I fail and don’t get my CDL I won’t have my job that provides for my family and that scared me beyond belief but as I kept putting in 110% i realized I'm doing this not just for me but for my family and that PUSHED me to go HARDER and be BETTER every single day I took my fear and put it into strength and motivation failure was NOT an option I want to give a huge thank you to Donny “Dr.D” for being a great teacher and friend he has always been there for every single one of his student a big thank you to Adrienne for helping me get through the process on getting into the class she helped me every step of the way and kept checking in on me for updates and questions a big thank you to my instructor Michelle if I had a choice to pick my instructor it would be her very helpful and patient but also strict in a good way when I was doing something wrong she would be the first to tell me and correct me there was no sugar coating it was straight to the point and that’s exactly what I needed positive criticism big thank you to all the students that helped out with everything and we’re always positive everyday if you are in the market on getting your CDL i highly recommend ADA it is a demanding hard class but if you give them 3 weeks out of your live they will give you 110% of these every single day Thank you ADA Class Of 2024 24-11/06
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy was recommended to me by a friend. I took his advice and applied. On my first day of school I was worried about not fitting in and doubts filled my mind. I’m not much of a people person, but my instructors and staffing were very welcoming and supportive, along with my fellow classmates who later became family. They gave me a new perspective. Attending this school gives you a whole new insight on trucking. They will teach you how to shift gears and downshift properly. They’ll breaks things down little by little to make it more easier to understand and it just gets better! My advice to those who are only dreaming of becoming a trucker. MAKE THOSE DREAMS BECOME YOUR REALITY AND START AT ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY. P.S Pour out your cup and let them fill it up with knowledges. I would recommend this school 100% Best decision I’ve ever make and I don’t regret it at all. #GAMECHANGER ON DA TOP
Fantastic experience: I attended Alaska Driving Academy not having no knowledge whatsoever or idea about what truck driving is. I doubted myself and also thought that I would probably fail it. But my instructor Dr. Donny made the class very enjoyable and worthwhile. He definitely gave out really clear instructions and explanations on everything. I’ve learned a lot from this academy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADA for people who want to get their CDL.
Fantastic experience: I don't know where to begin ,1st day at the lodge, I was somehow nervous but was greeted with kindness and welcomed, Mr Donny a.k.a Dr D, put a smile on my face with a joke on the 1st day ,and Coach Chris made us( students/The Usos) feel welcome and motivated. I've never experienced such kind and devoted instructors before ,Dr D and Coach Chris made sure no one get stressed or feel like quitting. In class everyday is an exciting time not only learning, but the vibe the instructors giving out is spectacular ,if you don't enjoy Dr D's teaching, your something else .ADA instructors told me everything i needed to know of trucks/tractors and trailers ,driving it, laws & regulations, and mostly "Safety". When i said everything, i meant everything you need and must know of handling tractors & trailers. Everyday the instructors will send in a quote of motivation to motivate the students. Started as an amateur rookie, 2nd week to the third and 4th you will be well disciplined, and well professional drivers. Each instructors have there own way of keeping your energy positive, and keeping you up and they'll never let you down. I have alot to tell of the excellency ADA and there instructors are but the review for reviewers might have limit space for it. Shout out to Mighty Mike my Game Changer instructor & teacher, you helped me alot☝️ . Anyways if your looking up to get your CDL license i advice, oh nah! I tell you to look up, take Alaska Driving Academy(ADA) as your 1st choice and you wont regret it. ADA HOORAH!! your the best.Thank you, i appreciate everything, .
Fantastic experience: If anyone out their is abut to get there CDL, But not sure which school to go for training. I would recommend Alaska driving Academy this is the best training school in town to come to.I came here with no experience of truck driver. 4 weeks later I learned a lot about truck driver up shift down shift backing up. Speaking from my experience the school staff are friendly and very helpful. They will go above and beyond to make sure you reach your goal to be a professional truck driver. And it the only school that would show there students what to do in any emergency situations out on the industry. When get stuck in snow how Put on tires chains what to do when brakes locked. Everything they do here it very professional. Thank you ADA
Fantastic experience: Great school and instructors. Including all staff. Make sure you put as much focus and determination into the school, classes, and work as you can. The first week and a half was tough but stick it out and persevere through it. It is definitely worth it and I have learned a lot throughout this program. You’ll definitely create friendships with the classmates and instructors.
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy is the top driving school in Kenai, Alaska. I feel fortunate to be a student driver and to be involved in this program. My experience here has been fantastic, and I've faced numerous challenges alongside my classmates and “LE AU USO”. Mr. Christopher, known as "Couch Chris," and Mr. Danny, referred as "Dr. D," along with the entire team, are dedicated to providing high-quality instruction and excellent support. They are committed to helping you become a skilled and responsible driver who prioritizes “SAFETY”, ensuring the well-being of yourself and others on the road in the Industry. GOD BE THE GLORY❕
Fantastic experience: This place is AMAZING! A highly intensive and in depth school covering ALL aspects of the trucking industry. The instructors are VERY involved in the success of the students. Exceedingly helpful in your progress and highly knowledgeable. I feel more than prepared for my new career in the trucking industry not only in my ability to operate a CMV but also all the accompanying paperwork and regulations. Thank you ADA for this amazing opportunity.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff helped me with getting started in the process of becoming a cmv driver and getting my license. Helped teach me laws and regulations that I should know as a driver.
Fantastic experience: Before attending ADA, I knew I wanted to get my CDL. I always talked and talked about it, but never made a move. I decided I needed to make a change as I have a family to support. I thank God for giving me this opportunity. I heard about ADA through other people who attended the school, but never had I imagine what the process would be. Before I started, I was worried because I’ve been out of a classroom setting for a while and I knew NOTHING about driving trucks or what came with the trucking business. So far I can say this program has given me more than what I expected. I would recommend this program to any person wanting to get their CDL and If you need a sign to get started, this is it! It definitely has not been easy and I wanted to quit when first starting, but with the help of coach Chris and his guidance, I am confident in starting this new journey. The time and effort our instructors have put into teaching us not only in the classroom, but hands on outside and making sure we fully understand by going step by step, instead of throwing us out there to learn on our own is the reason I would choose this program over and over again. ADA has been a life changing experience for me and one that I am grateful for. Thank you Alaska Driving Academy for not only my CDL, but for all the support and discipline.
Fantastic experience: The ada truck driving school is one that covers all aspects of what a driver needs to know in the classroom and in the trucks it is the top cdl school in the nation I do not regret going through the training I highly recommend it
Fantastic experience: First of all I just want to thank God for the opportunity to be in this class. When I first started I had a lot of doubts if I'm gonna make it or not, because to begin with, I don't even know how to shift a gear or anything about the tractor and trailer. Just a few days in class all of that has changed, ADA provides all the tools and knowledge to help me understand about shifting gears, backing up, and how to operate it. But not only know how to operate the vehicle, also understand the law, safety and the consequences of becoming a truck driver. All of this wouldn't happen without the help of my coach and the instructors. They are the best at what they do, that is 100% true. Glad I get to meet all of the brothers that attend this class with me. As coach said we are all family we help each other out. ADA is more than a program it is a life changing, if your out there trying to find a CDL school to attend, I highly recommend Alaska Driving Academy (ADA) to be your first choice. But first empty your cup and don't be a quitter.
Fantastic experience: BEFORE I ATTENDING THE ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY SCHOOL I WAS NERVOUS AND WAS NOT CONFIDENT IN MYSELF ON LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE SEMI-TRUCKING IN 20DAYS,I HAD NO EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY.THIS TRAINING IS INTENSE BEING AWAY FROM MY FAMILY AND KID,HAVING CLASSROOM BTW TRAINING AND LET’S NOT FORGET THE HOMEWORK/ASSIGNMENT.I WAS EXHAUSTED WHICH LEAD ME TO TIMES OF SELF DOUBT AND HERE IS WHERE I FOUND MY ADA FAMILY,THE BEST COACH AND ALL THE INSTRUCTORS .THE SUPPORT I RECEIVED FROM ALL THE TRAINER’S WAS UPLIFTING,POSITIVE AND GOT ME BACK ON THE TRACK.AS FOR MY CLASSMATES WE STOOD BY SUPPORTED,LAUGHED,ATE AND STUDIED TOGETHER AS A ONE FAMILY.NEW FRIENDSHIP WE’RE MADE,AND THIS ADVENTURE I’M SURE NONE OF ANY OF US WILL NEVER FORGET THIS BEST SCHOOL ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY…. NEVER FORGET THE SWITCH ️ AND MAKE SURE EMPTY YOUR CUP…GAME CHANGER☝️☝️ APELU SAVAIINAEA.
Fantastic experience: First of all, I want to give all the glory and honor to our Heavenly Father for his guidance, protection, love and his never ending blessings upon me and my little family. Second, I want to thank him for bringing together the class of 24-09 to ADA! LETS GO!!! Before attending Alaska Driving Academy, I was worried for many reasons. One, I was worried about being a student again after many years. Two, I was worried about driving a tractor trailer on highways. And lastly, I was more worried because I never had shifted a manual transmission before and I knew nothing about these big trucks or any regulations regarding them. My biggest concern was shifting, I asked myself “Will I be good enough to pass the road test or be able to drive manual?” Then, there came Coach Chris and he said to us in class that, “Whatever we think we know, whatever we think we’re good at, let it out by EMPTYING YOUR CUP!” His words of encouragement reassured me about my concerns, but there was still a little part of me that was worried because I haven’t been in the trucks yet. First week of school, Coach Chris handed out study packets explaining everything I need to know about shifting, backing, pre-trip inspections and tons of information about what Alaska Driving Academy will help me through. The week goes by then came the day and time to experience hands on in the truck. Driving, shifting for the very first time, OH MY GOOD BOY, it was easier than I thought; all because of the help from COACH CHRIS, RAIGOSA, the DUKE BOYYYYSSS and the rest of the ADA STAFF! I am grateful for Coach Chris and his staff who goes above and beyond to help each student with their struggles. Thank you for your patience and for always reminding us that if we put effort in, we get better and better every day! Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” DUKE BOYS!! Sincerely, Duke Boys Valedictorian, Tafa Faanu
Fantastic experience: For the last 4 years I’ve had a goal in getting my CDL License and now thanks to the Alaska Driving Academy and all my efforts I put in to it, I was able to achieve this goal. I was very nervous about coming to the academy but when I finally arrived, I was greeted by my class mates who are now like family and then when we all arrived to the school, we were all welcomed by very great instructors. Before I arrived at (ADA) I was uneducated about trucks. I got to learn every single part of the truck from outside to inside. I learned about shifting, daily logging, Pretrip and more. Getting into the truck for the first time I was nervous but my instructor put my mind at ease and taught me everything I needed to know and now I can confidently say I’m very comfortable driving manual trucks.Attending Alaska Driving Academy was a fantastic experience! The instructors are top-notch, offering clear and detailed guidance throughout the course. They really know how to break down complex driving techniques into easy-to-understand steps. Overall, the supportive environment and thorough training at Alaska Driving Academy made all the difference. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to get their CDL and start a career in commercial driving! To ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY THANK YOU!
Fantastic experience: My name is William Sheck when I first heard of Alaska Driving Academy (ADA) I thought it was easy, I thought it was a get in, get a CDL and get out type of class but I was totally wrong. The first thing Coach Chris told us after he shut that door on the first day of class was ( I WONT EVER LIE TO YOU, AND THIS IS GONNA BE THE WORST 20 DAYS OF YOUR LIVES) I didn’t believe it or mind it but thru out class and training I was stress, weak, exhausted, tired, worried, I felt like giving up, quitting the list goes on and on but I kept my faith strong, praying every night and day and thought about my family and why I was here. the main thing I kept from coach was (EMPTY YOUR CUP AND IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW YOU DON’T KNOW) that stuck with me thru my whole time here because it’s true, like coach said were trying to get to Mount Everest and he’s the only one that’s been there so all we need to do is follow his lead and trust the process long story short Coach Chris teaching is 110 percent he breaks down every single detail there’s is to make sure that us Polynesian and other cultures that have language barrier understood, after 3 weeks here I believe coach when he said he could teach a monkey(LOL) Not only he breaks it down to the nitty-gritty but he puts it in writing/handbooks, it’s gets even BETTER he also has an app so you have it on your phone! Textbook/apps/videos all word for word of what he teaches in the classroom! In the Bible it says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it” I use this verse for me because when I got here at (ADA) I was like a child again, i didn’t know anything and after all the teachings and lessons I got from Coach Chris, when I leave here and go out to the real world everything I was told, taught and all the professional skills I’ve learned it will never go away or depart from me like the last line of that verse “he will not depart from it” So if you wanna learn how to become a PROFESSIONAL truck driver Yes PROFESSIONAL because anyone or anybody can become a truck driver but here at Alaska Driving Academy they’ll teach you how to become a professional truck driver Like the saying goes “A BETTER LIFE, IS 20 DAYS AWAY” My time with ADA was worth it and it help me to be better person not just physically but mentally as well, I’ve learn so much about becoming a truck driver that I never thought about, I thought being a truck driver was just hop in the truck and drive but there’s so much more to that. When I got here I could not shift to save my life I could not park a semi tractor with a trailer I could not park in an alley dock or do a parallel parking with a semi tractor, but shout out to Coach Chris for teaching those instructors the right way and all they did was pass it down to the students. I want to thank Coach Chris and all the ADA staff for taking their time to teach and motivate us to become a professional truck driver, so if your out there and you want to become a professional truck driver look no further ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY is the place, if you sacrifice 20 days you’ll walk outta here set for life in the trucking industry. Once again big thanks to Coach Chris and Miss Misty and the whole ADA staff! Alaska Driving Academy number 1 in the Nation. William Sheck (aka 80%German) class of 24/09 signing out
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a school to get your CDL, I highly recommend ADA. why ? because this is the HAVARD OF TRUCKING SCHOOL ! first day of class was a piece of cake and the second day is when the everything you need to know about the trucking industry started to kick in lol! I was nervous because I had no idea how to operate or drive a manual car, and coach Chris told us that he will teach us everything in his knowledge to help us become a better driver in the industry! First 2 weeks in class was really tough and a lot of information lol one of the best advice Coach Chris gave us was to ‘EMPTY YOUR CUP’ and ‘IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW, YOU DON’T KNOW’. Coach Chris has the best instructors in AK because they will breakdown everything that you need to know about operating a BIG RIG! these instructors really help us getting to know what we have to know in the industry and what to do and what NOT to do. There’s a lot of really good information that we learned from ADA and it’s really best for you to come and check it out for yourself and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed. It’s a one month course so you really have to prepare yourself physically and MENTALLY. I would like to thank Coach Chris and his professional instructors and especially ‘Mr. THE MECH’ for helping and teaching me everything that I need to know and for becoming a professional driver! There’s not enough words to describe how I am grateful and thankful for learning everything that I need to know about the trucking industry. GAMECHANGERS BABY!!

Fantastic experience: As I stepped into my ADA class on the first day, my mind was filled with doubts and worries. "What if I'm not good enough? What if I fail?" But as I met my coach, instructors, and fellow students, my fears started to fade away. The supportive atmosphere and clear instructions helped me feel more at ease. With each passing minute, my confidence grew, and I started to believe in myself. I realized I was capable of learning and achieving my goals. The excitement of learning to drive in Alaska's unique conditions took over, and I eagerly accepted the challenge. Attending to the Alaska Driving Academy (ADA) was an amazing experience that helped me become the person I am today. They taught me how to be safe, responsible, and patient on the road, but also in life. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive, which helped me gain confidence and self-assurance. I was surprised by how much I learned - ADA is the best school, it teaches you everything you need to know and more! I thought trucker school would just be about driving, but ADA went above and beyond, covering so much more than I expected. The skills I learned there have helped me in many areas of my life, allowing me to tackle challenges with a clear head and determination. I'm grateful for the role the Alaska Driving Academy played in my growth and development.
Fantastic experience: I applied for and attended the Alaska Driving Academy because I was interested in a career change. And even with as much love of being on the road that I had, I was still aprehensive about all the rules and regulations I had to know and follow as a pro truck driver. I was filled with anxiety with the thought of operating such large machinery. Plenty of worries and concerns floated in my mind; that was until I " emptied my cup". The term "empty your cup" to me meant that I must allow my self to be open and willing to let new knowledge in and empty myself of my worries. The instructors and teachers that run the academy were a great boon for me. Here they taught me all the skills and knoweldge I would need; by breaking complex issues down to pieces. I was better able to retain all the neccessary education for the trucking industry. Thanks again to the wonderful staff at ADA for letting me empty my cup and for filling it with the right mix of grit and determination to pursue this fine career.
Fantastic experience: At Alaska Driving Academy I’ve learned that it’s not just a school, it’s a second home because your teacher and instructors push you every single day to be the best CDL driver in the industry but also to be the safest. That’s because they truly care about the protection of not only the society but you as well when you’re out there on your own after school in the real world. Meaning, you’re being trained to be the best in this industry and the safest from any challenges that may occur while you’re driving out on the road. Don’t take twenty days lightly thinking “ how am I going to become a class A driver in such a short time. Well apply and see for yourself, but trust me just because it’s twenty days it doesn’t mean you just show up to get your hard copy and leave. They’ll teach you everything from the first day till the last and more. My first day I was super anxious about class because I don’t want to fail not only my self but also my family. When coach says first week is hell week, he ain’t lying, the knowledge he gives you will be a lot to ingest. By second week you’ll look back at week one like why was I so anxious lol. I came from knowing nothing about this industry, and now I know how to parallel park, alley dock park, offset lane-over park, and straight back park, with a 100 percent proficiency in everything I do including operating a tractor with a trailer on all roads. At the end of my training I’m looking back at all the objects they had me overcome by giving me all the knowledge and secrets they had to make me a better person and driver everyday. My advice for who ever joins the ADA family, I know about working a 9-5 and it’s still not enough. I’ll tell you that this class is your key out of that life style of stress and anxiety. This class is definitely the Harvard of all trucking schools, and I’ll back these words with my life. I hope to see you all new comers out in the road and be safe. Thank you to Coach Chris’s, and all my instructors; Mark, Raigosa, and Luke for all your lessons. Also welcome to the family for all the new members of Alaska Driving Academy.
Fantastic experience: I want to that the saff for all there. Especially The Mechanic. Really appreciate his patience and his help. When I got here I knew absolutely nothing about parts of a truck. Now I'm learned to understand over 345 parts of a Truck. And we bump heads at the beginning but he and I worked thru a ruff first week and that was my fault. He never gave up on me and I truly appreciate him for that. Anyways anyone who is thinking of attending another driving school please think twice and my advice is to check into ADA driving school. Have a Blessed day
Fantastic experience: If you’re looking forward on getting your commercial drivers license (CDL) Alaska Driving Academy (ADA) will be your best choice. Why? Because they will not only teach you how to drive a big rig but also teaches you how to make more money. Well besides from making money and driving a big rig, ADA made me a better and safer driver in my own personal vehicle. The first week was very challenging for me and my brothers because we didn’t know anything about the trucking industry…but by the help of coach Chris and the instructors we got through it all. They will literally sit down with you and breakdown everything before they put you behind the wheel. You’ll just have to “empty your cup” and let them fill it up for you. ADA has taught me to be humble and never stop striving for greatness. There are so many good things that I wanna say about the school but I think it’s better for you to be here to experience it for yourself, you won’t regret it I promise. I highly recommend ADA, best way to start your trucking career. I want to take this time to say thank you Alaska Driving Academy for accepting me for who I am. Thank you for your time and support you’ve given me to learn the skills of being a professional truck driver. Most all thank for providing me with the tools to get better everyday and never give up when times gets rough. The DUKE ALL DAY !!
Fantastic experience: The school to pursue if you want to become a Professional Truck Driver. For myself getting a CDL is required to continue in my career field as an Operator with the IUOE302. I personally started the course with the thought that I had enough driving knowledge and ability to get my CDL and pass the test without school. I may have been able to, but boy was I wrong. Arriving at school the first day and listening to Coach prep us for the upcoming weeks allowed me to put my ego aside, empty my cup and keep an open mind to learn as much as I can. I tell you what, to become a professional truck driver takes knowledge of the industry and skills as a driver along with a tremendous amount of responsibility. ADA takes this head on providing you with all the information necessary and pushing you as a student to be best you can be. ADA goes above and beyond requirements set, ensuring you have the ability to perform your duties professionally and with confidence by providing you with knowledge and skills necessary like you're in a college level course. All the teachers at ADA have passion for what they do and are willing to do what it takes to help you succeed as a student. Thank you very much ADA, Coach, Luke, Mech, and Mark and don't let me forget the ladies in the background for everything you do!!
Fantastic experience: I want to start off by saying I was nervous at the first day of school, I don’t have knowledge about trucking or how to shifting gears. But the most important thing they want you to do is empty your cup and let them fill it out for you. They are going to teach you more skills about driving, shifting and more. Just only two tools they want you to use is your EARS. ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY IS THE BEST SCHOOL TO GET YOUR CDL All the instructors and staff are amazing. The class is challenging but engaging and your driving a truck on the fourth day. Team building is a big part and study sessions are fun. It’s 20 days and you have nothing to lose but everything to gain. GET OUT AND LOOK!! LOOK HOLD STEP!! CLASS 24-07/02
Fantastic experience: For a long while now, I’ve been wanting to get my CDL. It was a dream to not only have the license but to also be a great driver. I’ve had a handful of friends attend various driving classes & in my opinion, the ones that I’ve seen do really well have attended ADA. So, I applied. Coming in, I didn’t know what to expect. The first week was tough! But we all got through it together as a TEAM. Pushing & helping each other to the finish line. The instructors are very encouraging & take the time to actually teach to understand. They are very patient & have various teaching techniques. I love that because I am more of a visual and hands on type of person. But they also have classroom & study for those who learn best in that way. Attending the Alaska Driving Academy has been the best decision I’ve made in terms of starting my career. I know I’m going to leave here a safe driver above all else. I feel confident in myself and 100% prepared to start this journey. I couldn’t have done it without all the support I have received both from this school & my classmates! 10/10 would recommend. It’s 5 stars for a reason.
Fantastic experience: I'm soo glad I choose this school. The first week had me concerned. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it. Then everything started to fall into place. All the instructors were very helpful and are great at what they do. If I could go back and choose another school, I would tell myself, there is no other school. Alaska Driving Academy is the Harvard of CDL Schools. Best of luck on your new future.
Fantastic experience: Overall this has been an amazing life experience. Coming in I didn't know a lot about the industry. First day was a little overwhelming and you can tell coach means business. Coach holds everyone to a very high standard and teaches you how to push yourself to do your best. The driving instructor's were also amazing. They did not pressure you and they make you feel confident in yourself. They also made the over-all experience enjoyable. If you're looking for a driving school you have found the best in the state. ADA does not make CDL drivers. They make professional drivers!
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy, was referred to me by two previous graduates. I was told that this driving school was the real deal and if I wanted to be the best driver then ADA would allow me to accomplish that goal. At first, the class was very overwhelming, knowing very little about a tractor/trailer to understanding the whole vehicle in a short amount of time is difficult. The instructors are top notch and guide you through this difficult process. If you’re not motivated to better yourself or struggle with attention to detail and time management, don’t apply. You will only be wasting time, energy and the potential education of a hungry student. If you are interested in being taught by the best and graduating from the best driving school in the nation, it’s worth the wait!!!
Fantastic experience: First off all I just wanna keep it real right here so all yall can see before I came to this school man on god I don’t even no how to drive manual truck but ADA change that and I’m so greatfull for the teacher and the instructor man they put all the hard work the effort the skill and their mind so you can learn to become a professional driver and man before I came to this driving school I don’t even no how to drive this truck but know man I no how to do a lot of things I no how to change gear and drive those big truck on the road and it gonna change my life and become a better me to provide for my family and I have a lot of things in my mind I want to say but if yall wanna get your license or your CDLA or anything I recommend you to go ADAD app and apply man even tho you have to wait for 4 months 5 months but I’m telling yall it worth of wait so I just wanna to put this out and just wanna to say thank you so much to the coach and the instructor for everything they did for us god bless yall and stay safe Yammon .
Fantastic experience: I was worried the academy would be just a "paid CDL". Nope ♀️ with coach Chris and the best behind the wheel instructors EVER you will be well-informed, taught, and encouraged to be a great CDL driver. It certainly lives up to the pristine language usage of "Academy" You will want to be known for getting your CDL at this unmatched reputation. Behind the wheel instructors Mark, C-Square and Big Will deliver equal quality. They are well-seasoned personalizing training based on individual needs. The steak and potatoes of the trucking industry served here. You will definitely get many learning bonuses unique to ADA. Come here to find out what those are.
Fantastic experience: On my first day of class I was beyond stressed/worried that I may have gotten my self neck deep in a situation that I was gonna be out my money and not be able to provide for my wife(wonderful woman) and that I wouldn’t be able to drive a machine as big as a semi. Those worry's dissipated after I saw the things they are doing to make fantastic and professional drivers. Coach Chris and the driving instructors has been nothing less then the light leading the way to a being more then just a good driver. They are effective, firm, care about every student graduating and are all very qualified and uniquely different. Having them teach, coaching, joking around and pushing me gave me no doubt that I could drive the semi’s/pull the trailers and that I can give my wife everything she deserves with my CDL class A
Fantastic experience: The Alaskan Driving Academy is a great school. It is quite possibly the best driving school in the nation. Will, Mark and, Chris the three instructors I interacted with the most were great whenever I had any questions or made a mistake they were always there to correct and help me. I strongly recommend this school for anyone looking to obtain there Class A CDL. The driving and theory instruction is unmatched.
Negative experience: Waste of $1200.00! Brought our twins for their learn 2 drive program. They graduated them and gave them their certification for their license. Neither of the kids have ever driven on a main road, gone over 30MPH, were taught how to park, and have no idea how to merge. My husband and I have literally had to teach them every single thing. What is the point of this school of they're not going to teach them the basics of driving? We wasted $1200.00! Maybe they should stick to CDL and not teenagers
Fantastic experience: Choosing Alaska Driving Academy was the best choice I could have made to get my Class A CDL. As a 49 year old female coming from 26 + years working in corporate America the burn out was real I wanted to something new and exciting and live out my childhood dream of driving trucks. I was terrified nervous and feeling completely overwhelmed. The instructors are amazing. They make you feel just like family and they are just as invested in you succeeding as you are.
Fantastic experience: I was never a person to like going to school simply for one reason- BORING. It was only until I attended Alaska Driving Academy- Aka, the Harvard of driving school that I truly enjoyed school. It is hands down the most exciting school I've ever attended. I am so grateful for this experience and having the pleasure of being taught by a great mentor. Attending ADA was the best decision I've made in my life so far. Not only do they teach you safe driving skills, they also teach you life skills that will help you throughout your entire career. A big thank you to Coach Chris and all of the great instructors for steering me onto the right path. Most importantly, thank you for assisting me with obtaining my CDL license. This has been my ultimate goal for the last few years. It was not an easy course but I accomplished it because I was taught by the best driving instructors. I wish all future students well on their upcoming adventures. You’ll do great with them as your instructors!
Fantastic experience: If you’re thinking about becoming a CDL driver YOU WILL NOT REGRET enrolling here at Alaska Driving Academy! The school is organized and very detail oriented and will genuinely take there time to make sure you become a safe Class A truck driver. I was worried about coming here because i didn’t really do well in school growing up because my lack of understanding concepts but the instructors here at Alaska Driving Academy thoroughly went thru each step with me from understanding safe driving with class work and also safe driving on the road! If you wanna become a Class A driver! This will be the first step into having the fulfilling life you are chasing! Thank you Coach Chris and all the instructors for giving me knowledge and skills to protect myself and others while trucking around the Nation!
Fantastic experience: Coming into this class I had absolutely no background or foundation knowledge about operating a big rig. I viewed this class as a pathway to improve my life by gaining the skills and credentials to provide access to better job opportunities and to give myself the security of a great career in an ever-growing industry. After just the first day of class I was assured that I had come to the right place and that I would be receiving the absolute best training available to help me achieve my goals. Truly, a better life is 20 days away when you entrust Alaska Driving Academy to get you there. Upon completion of the program, I have no doubt that I'll be in a position to make substantial changes and advancements with how I make a living for myself. And I'll use the things learned in this training for the rest of my life, as long as I'm behind the wheel. This is the ultimate gift...To give a fellow man the tools to succeed when they otherwise wouldn't have access to them. Thank you ADA!
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy changed my life the VERY first day of class. I would like to take this time and say thank you Alaska Driving Academy for accepting me for who I am. Thank you for your quality time spent with me and the class, thank you for providing a high level of discipline and training that I will carry with me forever. I put faith walking into the unknown and developed a skill that I fell in love with. Thank you for providing me with the tools to be a professional and pushing me to get better every day. Fantastic experience: Overall experience was emptiness of my cup before arriving, now its all the way filled to where I need to empty it again lol. Long story short, it was an uphill battle, Instructors were great and they make it easy for us as students(answer is right there) just come and learn for yourself but remember to empty your got dam cup‼️ #LetsGetItDude☝
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy provided an exceptional experience from start to finish. The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and supportive, making the learning process smooth and enjoyable. The curriculum was comprehensive, covering all aspects of safe driving in Alaska's unique conditions. I felt confident and prepared after completing their program, and I highly recommend Alaska Driving Academy to anyone looking to become a safe and skilled driver. Five stars without hesitation!
Fantastic experience: Hello to all that is an all about to be. I just want to say how grateful for this school I am an all they taught me, at first it seam like too much but they want to go above and beyond so that we can do the same. The first week seams hard but it's for a good purpose. Never give up an they will never give up on you. Thank you ADA
Fantastic experience: Just from a bird's eye view, reading other reviews prior to making my choice does not quantify the amount of growth I experienced while attending this school. Although I could not find a bad word about it this company. I definitely felt like this would be the place for me. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is seeking a foundation made out of concrete, and a major leg up in the industry. And because I'm bias this is the best school in the country! Challenging yourself has been the theme!
Fantastic experience: I came to ADA with little to no knowledge about the trucking industry, but now leave as a professional truck driver! This whole training is such an amazing experience, you really notice the detail and effort they put in everyday. 10/10 recommend for anyone who just woke up one day and thought, ‘ Well dang I want to get my CDL! “
Fantastic experience: If you are deciding to get your cdl, THIS IS THE SCHOOL FOR YOU. Not only are the instructors extremely funny , they’re great teachers. Thank you Chris R my instructor, for being so patient with me and reminding me that I got this ! Thank you Will for always being on the sidelines cheering me on! All the staff here want to see you succeed and will work with you on how to operate a Tractor truck Safely. Empty your cup, and allow them to fill it.
Fantastic experience: The Alaska Driving Academy offers a great learning experience in beginning a career as a CDL Truck driver. The program is a well thought out intensive designed to test the knowledge and skills, along with hands on driving semi trucks. I was unsure of what to expect but these trainers meet you where you are and offer time to make sure you are successful.
Fantastic experience: I can’t thank you enough to ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY for being so patient with me from day ONE up until this day. I would like to thank ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY and my INSTRUCTOR Dan Adam’s @k@ POP’s because learning how to drive a TRACTOR TRAILER was intimidating, but your calm guidance helped me gain confidence. Thanks to my INSTRUCTOR (Dan Adam’s @k@ POP’s) for his ability to stay calm and collected has taught me more than just driving skills.Your patience not only helped me learn how to drive but also to be patient with myself. Thank you ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY for all the lessons, both on and off the road,Every time I thought I couldn’t do it, they proved me wrong with their patience. Thank you for never giving up on me n my journey,Your guys patience is not just a skill, it’s a gift. Thank you for sharing that gift with me during my driving lessons, I would like to say Thank you to all my instructors for patiently guiding me through every turn and stop. Your guy’s composed demeanor is truly commendable….little advice for future students “EMPTY YOUR CUP” an they will fill it up with a lot of knowledge CLASS 24-02/06 @k@DUKE BOII INSTRUCTPR Dan Adam’s @k@ POP’s
Fantastic experience: On my first day at ADA I thought there was no way I would be driving a tractor trailer as well as I am today. I was worried about shifting, as I've never driven a manual vehicle, but the instructors have made it such an enjoyable experience. I have met some of the most passionate people that I am lucky to call my peers and instructors. I will recommend this CDL driving school again and again to anyone looking to get the best start in their trucking career!
Fantastic experience: My first day in class I felt overwhelmed with the class work and pre trip that I didn't think I could possibly pass. But the way they split up the pre trip into sections I'm absolutely confident I'll pass. The instructors are very friendly and super informative, I don't think I could go anywhere else in the state and get the same level of experience other than ADA. Huge thanks to the classroom instructors and everyone else for this amazing experience!
Fantastic experience: When I first decided to get a CDL I was real worried about all of the paperwork/red tape involved. Alaska Driving Academy did a great job of simplifying all of the paperwork and breaking all of the studying down in manageable portions. I also really like how structured the schedule is so that I know exactly what I need to study and when to study it. I definitely recommend Alaska Driving Academy if you are planning to get a CDL.
Fantastic experience: I went to Alaska Driving Academy for the January 2024 class. I wasn’t sure how things would go and had a lot of reservations because of it. Overall, it was a good experience. The driving instructors were all actually great and had awesome stories of past experiences. I also learned in an environment that helped me develop functional understanding skills in maneuverability while driving a CMV. To be honest there’s a lot of things that I experienced that I don’t think I would have otherwise.
Fantastic experience: I didn’t do much research when I was looking for a driving school but the first day of class I know right then and there I made the right choice. I was really worried about how high the standards are at ADA and that I wouldn’t be able to keep up. Driving the truck was even more intimidating because I knew that truck was gonna kick my butt and I was right! Coach Chris and the rest of the staff do an amazing job teaching the material that is required and after a week I wasn’t so worried about the high standards anymore. The instructors were able to help me understand the problems I was having in the truck and how to overcome them:).
Fantastic experience: Really great school! Before I started I was worried about driving such a big vehicle on public roads and all the responsibilities that come with that. This school was able to teach me how to properly handle the vehicle and be aware of what I to watch out for. The best part was having a spot off public roads that I could get familiar in the truck before I had to worry about traffic.
Fantastic experience: The difficulty of this school is high, but stay focused and locked in on this journey then it won't be hard. Proud of all my classmates and Thankful for this opportunity. This experience was something else, but you really learn EVERYTHING. I am a better man than i was 20 days ago
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy was a great experience for me mainly because of the valuable information I received and the advanced training they provided. I believe I learned an invaluable amount of skills and tools that will help me as I venture into the professional truck driving industry. The instructions were clear and concise and if you apply yourself you will establish a solid foundation that will be with you your entire career. Also the instructors were very patient and understanding of every students situation and abilities they take the time and invest in you as a student which helped me out a lot because I wasn’t very good at school but after l completed this program I am a lot more confident in myself and ability to learn and retain information along with proper studying skills and how to always be prepared! I greatly appreciate the Alaska driving academy and all of their staff for this amazing opportunity to advance my career.
Fantastic experience: I came to this school with basically no experience in driving a tractor and trailer. I was nervous about being able to back up and being able to shift. Also having only a month to learn everything needed to be a good truck driver. But this school is amazing. Don't get me wrong it's difficult and demanding. But they do an amazing job teaching everyone. They give everyone more than enough guides to help with learning everything as long as you put In the effort to learn. Highly recommend attending this school if you really want to get your CDL!
Fantastic experience: I attended a one week cdl school bad investment waste of money they teach you barely what you need to know to be a professional driver. I heard about ada asked around about them nothing but good. It's not easy but you will learn all you need to know to be a professional drive I'm very happy with the school and the teachers!
Fantastic experience: If you think this class will be easy you’re wrong. It’s a tough class with lots of information but in the end it’s worth it. If you pass the class and get your CDL you will leave here with a job or with tons of of options. ADA has a very good reputation with many companies and some will guarantee at least an interview. Most importantly though you’ll leave with so much more knowledge so you know what to do in the industry.
Fantastic experience: They certainly know their stuff. Always encouraging and helping you to do the best you can. They obviously care about putting safe drivers on the road and helping you to become a coachable, dedicated, and safe employee. I didn't know how much went into becoming a Class A CDL driver before coming here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks, Alaska Driving Academy.
Fantastic experience: My experience was phenomenal as someone who drove in the past. I never knew there was so much more to learn thank you, Alaska academy.
Fantastic experience: When i first came here i didnt know a damn thing, i was worried how i would do not having much background in the field. This place is amazing, extremely thorough and they teach you everything from the ground up that you would possibly need to know. If you’re worried about being able to pass your test when the time comes then this is 100% the place to come to!
Fantastic experience: Through program I like all the information. Only wish we had more driving time.
Fantastic experience: Before arriving to ADA, I was skeptical about it all. I asked myself if this is the right decision for me and espy my family! Just within the first day arriving here, I honestly was relieved! They encourage you here and push you to become the best of the best as a graduate CDL A driver. Best thing I love about it here is how the system works, it’s a lot to take in at the same time but with effort and hard dedication, coming into week 3 you’ll be almost ready to hit the roads on your own. They said something that motivated me from the beginning, which was “trust the process” and everything will come together. They set a whole different standard way above the Federal standards, which is why I can’t thank the instructors and staff for making me one because the best of myself. To all brothers and sisters who are skeptical about submitting to the ADA! I promise this will be the best choice you’ll ever make, not only for yourself but your family as well. Thank you ADA for everything you guys have done!
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy is the best CDL training facility in the peninsula and not only that they have 2nd to none instructor they put in 110% to teach students to be the best of the best especially safe operator!!! awesome staff. So I attended ADA to become a professional truck driver and what I've learned lots of stuff through the program.(ADA "get better every day" )They provide several types of teaching techniques for the better learning and success for being a student...Best instructor in classroom Will "Big Will"and out in Ranch Dan "pops"!!!I highly recommend it for a better future in 20 days
Fantastic experience: This is place was not what I expected! I was told about this place by friends and coworkers, BUT DAMN!!! Things that I’ve heard and read about ADA is not the same as actually being here. ADA produces the best CDL drivers for a reason. They literally sit you down and explain the “IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY”. Here at ADA they breakdown everything for before you can even think about touching the truck. How to be aware of your surroundings and the actions and reactions of those around you. I could really get into detail about this school but the words I write will not do it’s justice. You’ll actually need to be here to experience it for your self. If your planning on getting your CDL and want to do it right the first time? Then The Alaska Driving Academy is the place to be. You won’t regret it. But one thing I can say is that the work and effort you put into this program will probably be the greatest decision of your life! ADA TO THE FUTURE!!!!
Fantastic experience: Never thought I would be in school, but here I am! Big Mahalo & FaafeThanks to the instructors Ducky, Mark, Coach Chris, Big Will, Dr D, and the utmost RESPECT to DAN @k@ “POPS”!!! I enjoy driving just needed to be certified & this is the right place to start! Very thorough process and informative to follow! SEE ADA for your next stop to become a professional certified truck driver! ADA WORKS WITH YOU FROM THE START TO THE END! Thank you guys again for this awesome experience and milestone not only for myself as well as the team! 100% recommendation for CDL training.
Fantastic experience: Alaska Driving Academy helped me with hands-on training/basic maintenance around the tractor and trailer. Learning the log books/E-logs helped the most for keeping an organized schedule. Techniques and skills to back up was definitely the best skill to know for driving tractor and trailer.
Fantastic experience: Coming to this school may have been my smartest choice to achieve my goal of becoming a Professional Truck Driver. Upon arrival, I had no idea on how to drive a manual semi-truck and shifting was a foreign concept. By the end of the third week of training, I am now proficient in shifting, driving, and very knowledgeable in the Federal Regulation and state regulations here in Alaska. This school is very good in terms of teaching and helping students learn how to drive. If you are looking to get your CDL, this is the school you need to attend.
Fantastic experience: Thank You ADA for the knowledge you've installed in me. I appreciate this school & have no regrets putting my trust in them to help me become a professional truck driver! This school cares about their students to be safe & successful on the roads so other road users have one less driver to worry about. If you're reading this & wanting to become a future professional truck driver, this is your sign to get with ADA!
Fantastic experience: The ELDT class is extensive and demanding but will teach you to do things the right, safe, and legal way. All coaches and instructors are helpful and informative and will also help you get a job. If you want a long and successful trucking career, this is the place to get your CDL. Just be coachable!
Fantastic experience: At age 74 I have so far been the oldest student here. You are never too old to chase your dreams. Why did I choose ADA? My son’s employer had him check a new hire from NIT in Palmer. At startup he asked what was the annoying buzzing about. The new hire didn’t know about the low air warning buzzer. When I told my son I wanted to get my Class A back he recommended ADA but said at my age I would have trouble that I was too old to learn anything. WELL, you can teach an old dog new tricks. It is an intense course and after the first day the old dog thought his brain was bleeding, it was that long since I attended any school. These guys are great instructors both in the classroom and in the truck. You can go to a school and Buy a license or you can come here and learn to be a professional truck driver.
Fantastic experience: So glad that I came to the right place. Before I walked in this school I didn’t have any experience or knowledge about truck drivers. I now know how shift gears, backing trailers, and drive. Not only they teach you how to drive but information about regulations requires on the road were handed out to me in perfect detail and a learnable way..
Fantastic experience: Alaska driving academy has hands down the best on hands instructors in alaska, the schools lead instructor is a great teacher and he will make sure that you understand what your leaving and become a great professional driver!
Fantastic experience: I came to ADA with no knowledge about Trucking Industry and let me tell you guys it’s the best feeling to learn new things that you have no idea it will change you and have a career. I was fearful and worried about joining this school and I don’t regret coming here. This is the best school to get your CDL and I’m glad I came here. Coach Chris and all the Instructors (Mark, Ducky, Pops) will go above and beyond and share their knowledge and give everything they know to make you feel like a badass safe truck driver out there. If you are looking to get your CDL I recommended you Alaska Driving Academy is the answer. Make a better life change.
Fantastic experience: My time spent at Alaska Driving Academy (ADA) school was very memorable. Special thanks to Chris and to the best instructor Dan aka (Pops)for teaching me everything i know on how to drive a truck. Along with this if you put in the effort and time the instructors will give you their effort and time. 08-23/ 09 BOIIIIIIIIII
Fantastic experience: After reviewing other schools and talking with other drivers that have gone to different schools, ADA school definitely sets the bar much higher it’s worth the experience.
Fantastic experience: It’s been a long month of training. But here it is now, took off for some CDL training. It turned out to be some much needed hard work and refocus. Learning about rules/regs different types of tractor trucks, trailers then getting some hands on experience was the best part of it, talking with classmates about class, homework and different shift points or routes, and a lot of homework and note taking. Got to meet some awesome people from around the state and backgrounds. Time away from my kids was pretty hard but they were always my main focus, “I’m doing this for them!” Id stop and about them and tell myself to stay up and extra hour or so or to review some notes/chapters, driving/inspection points just to make sure I was ready for the next days daily test. With that being said I’d say this was some of the best training and experience with some even better instructors, staff, and classmates. Shout out to my Brudda Seti! We were training together in the same truck and had a blast! If your interested in CDL training and finding out just how much you can apply yourself to a better tomorrow and are ready for a challenge, especially from staff and instructors that know what they are talking about and have confidence in their teachings and how it can help you as a new student with an “empty cup” ready to learn something new, like actually putting your doubts to the side and getting a lot of confidence in truck/equipment operations I’d highly recommend Alaska Driving Academy! Thank you again Coach Chris, Misty, Adrienne, Raelyn, instructors Mark, Pops, Duck, and of course Donnie! Classmates most of all, it was a awesome experience of learning something new with you guys. The hugs and smiles from my kids when I got home we’re definitely worth the effort of hard work
Fantastic experience: To those men and women who want to plot a new course in their life, ALASKA DRIVING ACADEMY & CREW will go beyond the call of duty to help you weather out the storm and guide you to a safe harbor where you can reap the fruits of your labor and perseverance. CHRIS, DONNY, MISTY, ADRIENE, RAELYNN @ the classroom plus POPS, MARK, DUCKY AND DONNY again. THANX VERY MUCH I WISH YOU ALL FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS.
