Fantastic experience: This was the best class I ever took!! The instructor was amazing and helped everyone at their own pace.
Thanks so much for the vote of confidence. It is an honor to help people stay safe, so please choose to reduce the risk. Joe
Fantastic experience: Great class. Amazing instructor.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience Riding at Joe’s! Instructor Steve was great, fun, and hightly informative. Come on and get your motorcycle endorsement here. Thanks Joe!
Fantastic experience: Great experience
Fantastic experience: Carolyn was the best. Very nice
Fantastic experience: Had a great time taking the Basic Riders Course. Steve broke down the fundamentals with me being a new rider in addition to some fun stories from the past. Would recommend.
Negative experience: I came to the location using google maps. There was no one .I didn’t find the place.
Fantastic experience: It was a very good instructor and he was very patient with the class I learned along thanks steve
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Ride at Joes motorcycle training in Tampa. Corey my instructor was really knowledgeable and respectful the way he instructed his class. It was a fun weekend and I learned a few things even though I have been riding over 30 years.
Positive experience: Took this class without any prior riding experience, although I would recommend having some before taking the class. The class is done at a good pace with an experienced instructor who wants you to pass.
Fantastic experience: Excllent to go to refresh your skills before renewal
Fantastic experience: I took my course last week. My instructor Steve is absolutely the best. He knows everything you need to have your license and riding skills. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking forward to get their motorcycle license
Negative experience: Ride at joes is located at the abandoned flea market on Nebraska. The class room/range is shared with the local homeless population. The only restroom is a port o potty that is also shared by the homeless.Don’t waste your money. Worst experience ever.
Fantastic experience: Came into the class with only paperwork knowledge on riding a motorcycle, Steven my instructor made the class fun he is very knowledgeable and help me understand what it takes to ride safely .. gave me extra time for to get use to the bike after class great experience !!!
Positive experience: Instructors were awesome, friendly, and interesting to talk to. I have no complaints with them. The location however was a bit on the undesirable side. But I expected that when I saw where it was located. Even as an experienced rider I still learned a lot and honed a few more skills I didn't even realize I was lacking. Just watch out for patches of loose gravel.
Fantastic experience: Taught my little lady to Ride that's an amazing feat thanks joe thanks joe
Negative experience: It's the most awful experience for the course. Joe has no customers services at all. there's no instructor when you show up 7:30am in front of the class room. No one replied me and other students. We kept called the office number for over an hour waiting at the parking lot. People took time off for the course with disrespectful business onwer. would not recommend. For anyone who consider avoid Joe’s Motorcycle Training at all cost.
Negative experience: Signed up to take the motorcycle course today and tomorrow, March 27 & 28, 2023 at 7:30a.m. Hustled around so I could get my kids off to school and canceled work and I got there at 7:20. I waited an hour at the Tampa location, which is a mess in itself and not in a desirable area at all but that’s a side note. I called and called the number on their website as well as the sign I was looking at where the class is supposed to be and nobody answered, and nobody has returned my calls or messages. Somebody has my $250. Unbelievable people can get away with doing business like this. Do not waste your time here. Put this business with all of those who have zero integrity or work ethic.
Fantastic experience: The instructor, Stephen, was very informative and realistic about everything. He helps direct you as much as possible and offers suggestions when you make a mistake. Very upbeat and down to earth gentlemen. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get their motorcycle license!
Fantastic experience: Went last weekend to do my training with Steve and it was the best experience I loved every second while I was there. Steve told us a lot of stories from his past and was really great about taking his time with others that were struggling. Steve made it really easy to understand what the course was about and how to complete it. I 100% recommend doing this course with Steve .
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this course, Corey was my instructor, amazing instructor I could tell he cared about everyone’s safety making sure you’ve got down each practice, I thought I wasn’t going to learn much new things oh boy I was wrong. By the end of this course I got rid of my bad breaking habit, I don’t stall the bike anymore, I’ve been taught on how to lean the bike properly and much more, some people in my class never driven a motorcycle in their entire life and yet on the second day they’re driving like it’s nothing very impressed definitely worth the money.
Fantastic experience: Great experience at Joe’s motorcycle training. Started with 0 experience and developed confidence after every drill. Finished the course feeling confident with techniques such as leaning, performing emergency stops
Fantastic experience: Corey was a great instructor! He taught our class a lot of life saving maneuvers and explained how important it is to be a safe rider. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for motorcycle training.
Fantastic experience: Perfect beginner course! Had a lot of fun but more importantly I feel more confident in my riding ability. Corey was patient and did an awesome job teaching us. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Just completed the training here. Very educational very skilled instructor. Bikes are a little dated but all run and perfect for what they are used for. Highly recommend ride at joes. Every student got. Instruction no matter what level of their riding skills. Thanks for such a pleasant experience and training All the best.
Fantastic experience: I had a fun experience! The instructor Corey was great, direct and I couldn’t be happier with the way he explains everything with such care and patience. You won’t struggle to pass both tests if you listen to what he says and follow his instructions. I felt he truly cared about our safety during class and riding in general. The group had different levels of experience and some had none and at the end of the 2nd day everyone was riding so good it didn’t seem possible to learn that fast but Corey is that good! English isn’t my first language and I was able to understand every command he was giving during practice. One advice I would give you is bring your own gloves and be on time!!!
Fantastic experience: Good for experience riders and 1st time riders. Keep your ego at the door and focused. So many reviews about the age of the bikes......why in the hell would they want to have brand new bikes while people who know nothing about them tear them up? All the skills are going to be self taught and practice.
Negative experience: Does not actually submit the endorsement to the dmv so you can’t ride a bike if you pass this
Fantastic experience: I took the 3 wheel BRC at the Tampa location last weekend. Steve is a great instructor and he made sure to teach and encourage everyone. We had a few people in class that had never ridden before and Steve had amazing patience and made sure to emphasize safety and taught skills required to ride. Yes, the parking lot wasn’t the greatest flat surface; however, if you have ridden around FL you will find similar roadways and it didn’t impact learning or operating the trikes in any way. As for homeless people, there were a few off in the distance but no one was on the course except students and the instructor and we were never approached by any homeless people. I believe that the course was more than sufficient to properly teach skills needed to ride safely. The class was fun and informative. Steve was awesome.
Fantastic experience: I took my MSF course over the weekend. My instructor was Mr. Corey. I am very happy to have him as my instructor. Corey is direct, no non-sense instructor that excels at articulating his instructions and genuinely cares about your safety not only at the range but once you're out on the street by yourself. As far as the range, training facility, and bikes, yes they're trash but I am there to learn how to ride; not going there for a pedicure. And YES, you will get yelled at, frowned upon, and gestured for mistakes. So leave your ego at home and put on big boy pants and you'll enjoy the class. I've learned a lot and have riding confidence now! Thank you Mr. Corey!
Fantastic experience: I recommend them to all the coach Steve is a great person and very patient to train, if you don't speak English don't worry they explain well what you have to do
Fantastic experience: Very good class and it’s fun especially If you are taking it with Corey, he’s a great trainer/instructor except the fact that he was in the Air Force haha it’s a joke I told he during class. But no seriously Corey is awesome and he truly does make sure you have everything thing you need to pass both test (written and driving). If you do EVERYTHING he tells you to do and actually pay attention there is no way you can fail
Positive experience: Corey was awesome!! He demonstrated the maneuvers we had to do and made sure we had them down before moving on to another exercise. The bikes weren’t the best but got the job done.
Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this place highly enough. The instructors were very knowledgeable and seemed to really care about helping each student learn the material. They showed a lot of patience and a good sense of humor throughout, even when some of the students really struggled. Will definitely go back again when I have another opportunity. Edit: after reading other reviews I should add that students will need to be comfortable with lower-income people and the conditions that come with a school being located in a lower-income neighborhood. Personally, I love that this school welcomes everyone but I'm sure there's people that would rather go to a Harley dealership that doesn't let the poors in.
Fantastic experience: Will was a great instructor I recommend him to anyone, as for the class would highly recommend
Negative experience: After seeing positive third party reviews, I decided to use Joe's for the basic riding course. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but positive. Joe has 9 motorcycles and 1 scooter at this location. All of the bikes are mid/late 80s era. Of the 9 bikes (+1 scooter), only 4.5 bikes started and ran (scooter was offered as an alternative but didn't work either). For our class of 6, this was obviously a problem. The result was spending the first 4 hrs of the first day working on diagnosing the motorcycle problems (the students, not the staff as the instructor was not 'mechanically savvy). We were told that the solution would be one person would have to volunteer to leave and come back another time to take the class. After some persuading, we were able to reconcile by having two of the more experienced riders share a bike and we delt with the other bike's problems throughout the course. None of the gauges or electronics worked as they were disconnected so as not to 'strain the batteries'. The bikes weren't the only problem. The location was awful. It's a defunct/shuttered shopping center that has been vacant for years and is 'home' to a number of homeless people, some of which literally walked through the middle of the driving course - while we were driving through it. There were only 5 chairs for us to sit in as the rest had been stolen, along with the trash can evidently. The indoor classroom where we took the written portion was a converted former barber shop with NO A/C. I understand it's Florida and we should expect some heat but it was 89 degrees in the classroom with inadequate/rundown restroom and other issues. The course offered "free bottled water" but bring your own - this bottled water stored in a moldy cooler with stagnant water that is kept in the same trailer as the motorcycles. The instructor also dipped her vest in the cooler water with the water bottles to keep her cooler. Overall, the instructor was ok, but put in a terrible position by the owner, Joe who did not have any solutions for the non working bikes and would not hire a mechanic to fix them/rectify the situation. I recommend waiting until the Harley Davidson or other course providers are available and avoiding this course at all costs.
Positive experience: Instructor I had was wonderful. Corey took his time to explain classroom work and field training on bikes. Only thing is the bikes aren't in the best of condition, but they do run. A little advice, especially to the novice rider, do a walk around inspection of the bike you'll be riding. If you don't feel it's safe, let instructor know.
Fantastic experience: Will was very good at teaching great class, all students came from different backround and skill level, Will did take note and helped out who needed some more instructions. Class went smooth and every one PASSED.
Fantastic experience: I've done Joe's Motorcycle Training on two separate occasions (once in 2017 to get my permit in GA, once more recently to actually get the endorsement in FL), and both times I've thoroughly enjoyed! Will and most recently Steve are amazing instructors, and help as best they can to teach pupils how to ride a moto. The class also encompasses safety precautions which are obviously of the utmost importance. Prior to embarking on your learning journey with Joes Training, they provide you your own motorcycle to utilize while in the class! It's fantastic! I'd recommend Joes Motorcycle Training to anyone wanting to learn to ride a motorcycle. They are immensely thorough and provide the best locations from which to learn also!
Fantastic experience: The instructor was very clear with his instructions. Will you the man!!!!!
